The last part is easy. Ogres can't be effected by truth serums because of their small mind. The serum only works if the body knows that it has it.

That would be a close call. It is just like my truth spell. It will only work if I can hear it. If i can't hear it the spell just doesn't work.
(want to go to lavs site also. It need some Rps. The site is pretty empty)
