He is isn gryfindoor. Who ever voted for sltherin or otherwise is wrong. In the first movie it showed the plaque that said James potter:seeker and it was a gryfindoor plaque for when they had won the quidditch cup.

Yes, but in the book, he was actually a chaser.  Don't see why they changed that...

They changed it because the people who had never read the books wouldn't know what a Chaser was and instead of going to the trouble of explaing they just said he was a Seeker (which people already knew about). Hope that helps (and that someone didn't say it already... ).
