Ginny gazed at Xaver with concern, all of her thoughts jumbling together. What should she do? Xaver obviously was hurt, he needed time to heal. Should she take him home?

The forest wasn't exactly safe, and who knew who was listening in?

Ginny met his eyes again and forced a cheery smile, "Love, do you wish for me to take us home?" She wasn't sure if he'd even want to be taken there.

Suddenly, Xaver shook his head.
"No."
He paused to draw a breath, then sighed.
"I don't want to go home. Not like this.. Not for Cody to see."

Ginny understood, but she knew that home was the safest for him.
"Cody will not think you weak." She told him, shaking her head, "He will not be frightened. He's seen me more beat up than you are...."

Not exactly true, but Cody had seen her after a run-in with Mahn one day.
