I don't think that harry is jackass. I certainly believes the hidden strength in him. I love the way his friends help him.

well actually sometimes he seemed a little little snobbish to me, i don't know when or exactly how (last time i read the books was like 2 years ago) i don't even remember what you guys are talking about with ginny lol but all his bravery and kindness and stuff showed that he was a pretty good guy.
