Stacey shook her head slowly. She stared up at the house with large brown eyes. She was worried. Worried what her mother was going to think, what she`d say.
"No. It`s not your job to, and she`s more likely to freak out at you saying it than if I do. I`ll do it." She squeezed his hand once more then knocked on the door.
It opened a few moments later, her mom standing in the doorway. Her poofy blonde hair swept back into a ponytail. She had jeans and a light green tee shirt on. She looked down at her daughter with a surprised look.
"Stacey, I wasn`t expecting you to show up." Her tone wasn`t exactly welcoming."
Stacey nodded, looking down at the ground for a moment. "Yeah, well... we`d just thought we`d stop in for a visit. Haven`t seen you in a while." It was obvious that she was lying. She never really got along with her mother, she wasn`t going to stop in and visit.
"Huh. We`ll, I guess you`d better come in." Carrie replied, stepping aside so the young couple could enter.
