The Forest / .spring.
April 11, 2010, 01:17:16 AM
((Ok guys, this is a warm-up for me and Xav. I have no clue where it is going to go, but if at any time there seems to be an opening, feel free to join in. :) ))

The harshness of winter was gone, the first buds of spring had begun to show on the trees. Ginny had caught a glimpse of some early spring flowers, and such buds filled her with such hope. Such happiness.
Winter inspired nothing but stillness to Ginny.
Spring inspired life, anew.

It was still chilly out, and so Ginny sat in her living room, at a desk she often worked at, her feet propped up, her body facing the glass doors that led into the back yard. It was very early, too early for her children to wake up. Not too early for Xav, but he had been to bed much later than she.

Ginny thought back to finding him in that hospital on America. Scary.
He had said Xences was dead.
She still felt relief from that.

She could recall when she was pregnant with Meliody and Xences had touched her belly. She had gotten sick almost instantly. To this day she doubted it had been in her head, but so far there had been no repercussions.
Thankfully.

Deep in thought, Ginny closed her eyes against the warm spring sun, the silence of the house helping her think clearly.

The Forest / Nubs

((Throwaway. Not going anywhere. Join if you'd like, but don't be any more dumb than I am ha ha))

It had been a long time since Cody Xian had been in the Forbidden Forest at Hogwarts. An even longer time since his mother had been in control of said forest. Where it had been a safe, interesting place when he was little, it was now overgrown and a little creepy. But 13 year old Cody wasn't afraid. He was his parent's child, he knew how to take care of himself.

Sounds in the dark undergrowth to his right. Cody stilled his body, controlling his breathing so that he could correctly hear the noise. Steps. Loud, blundering. Raspy noises...breathing heavily. Whatever it was was on two feet, not four. It walked heavily, making little grunting noises as it breathed.
Now Cody could smell it. His stomach rolled. The smell was disgusting.
Ogre.

Cody slowly made his way over to the closest tree, scampering up it like a little monkey. About 8 feet up he inched out onto a branch, waiting. He didn't move for the longest time, slowly breathing through his mouth to avoid the smell.
And then the ogre appeared.

Role Play Character Bios / Ginny Weasley {and children}
November 20, 2009, 06:27:04 AM
Name: Ginerva Molly Weasley (Sulai) Xian.

Age: 23 years old

Height: 5' 8"

Appearance: Of average height, and less than average weight. She has bright red hair that stands out clearly against her naturally fair skin. The freckles she had as a child have long since disappeared, leaving her skin porcelain like. She is shapely, her muscles clearly defined, but not overly so. Her eyes grow dark when she is angered, standing out sharply against the rest of her fragile face. If truly happy, her eyes light up with her smile, a chain reaction of her features. She'll mostly wear jeans and a t-shirt when she isn't wearing teachers' robes. Ginny is very graceful when fighting, but when it comes to complex activities, such as walking, she is a total klutz.
Immediately after having her son, she got her shape back, appearing still as a 17 year old teenager. She seems to be unaware of her affect on people, having grown up as an average child. She isn't gorgeous, but has a beauty rarely seen.

Race: Witch

Parents: Arthur and Molly Weasley

Personality: Ginny has matured a lot in the three years since most saw her last. At 20 years old, she is less cynical towards the world, but more so towards the government. With many, she is calm and cool, but with a few she allows herself to show happiness. If she likes you, you'll know it. She doesn't give out praise often, and gives more criticism than anything. If she praises you, you did something truly noteworthy. If she criticizes you, you need to work on it. She is smart, though not a genius. When angered, or when her family is threatened, she becomes fanatical. Her anger will know no bounds when it comes to her loved ones being threatened. Her wits are matched by few, her sharp tongue known to pull even the strongest man to his knees. If she cares about someone, she would go to any lengths to keep them safe. Her husband and children mean everything to her, and she would give up her life before letting any harm come to them.
She is of a kind disposition towards most people and creatures unless they give reason for otherwise. She has little patience for stupid people, and is known to anger easily. Even with her red hot temper, she is known as nice and good company to have. She attempts to take care of the students, making sure that they live full and successful lives while at Hogwarts. She is willing to go to the aid of anyone who needs her, if at all possible.
At times, Ginny can be seen as irrational and unstable, usually whenever she feels she has lost control of the situation. A rare occurrence, but it has been known to happen. These feelings stem from her childhood, of not being in control and realizing that someone else's control is not stable enough to help her.

Likes: Being in control of a situation, being warm, feeling safe, green apples, babies.

Dislikes: Arrogant people, losing control, absolutely HATES being cold.

Power: One of the most powerful psychics to ever go through Hogwarts. She has control over all of the elements, but her main is water. She learned a few healing powers while still in school, and also has the power to travel anywhere in time. She shares a connection with the forest and its occupants, allowing her to hold an almost perfect control over it. She has the power and ability to use energy as a weapon, as well as regular magic. Physically, she is strong in many forms of martial arts and street fighting. Having taught herself, there is no specific style to her way of fighting.
She is not all mighty, but is bound to be more powerful than her students. After all, simply because she taught them everything they know doesn't mean she taught them everything she knows.

Other:
There is such a thing called a Power Stone, powder blue with runes on it, it is able to drain Ginny's psychic, magical, and physical power. She is the only one who reacts to this specific stone.
She is also a Queen, though it seems that she never does this duty, having left the kingdom she rules over to her ex-husband Conan for the most part. Occasionally, someone will come with stacks of papers for her to sign and rifle through from her kingdom, but for the most part she pretends it doesn't exist.

History: Raised as the youngest and only daughter of the Weasley family. Has six older brothers (Bill, Charlie, Percy, Fred, George, and Ron.) During her first year at Hogwarts, she was possessed by the Horocrux of Tom Riddle's diary. Harry Potter saved her. The result of this trauma was her psychic powers being forced forwards earlier than they should have been. Her second year was spent trying to overcome her feelings of worthlessness, and she began to venture into the forest at the school, meeting many of the animals and befriending them. In the years to come she would become known as the forest's protector. Her third year, she began to fully develop her psychic powers, a trait passed down through her family. Fourth year, she met Kiara, Harry Potter's twin sister and saw what true power is. Kiara Maul and Lavender Potter became her idols, being older and more powerful she looked up to them. She considered them as big sisters to her and loved them as such. That summer, she went back in time and met her first husband, Conan Sulai. She learned to master Time control, becoming a Keeper of Time, (AKA Time officials). She made many enemies during this time, and she killed many people.
Fifth year, after Albus Dumbledore died, Ginny dropped out of school, refusing to finish what she called a waste of time. She realized Hogwarts had nothing left to teach her. Ginny already knew and understood many of the lessons. But instead of leaving, she became a school official. Over the next few years, she became a teacher. When she was 15, going on 16, she divorced her husband Conan, and met a boy named Xaver. Falling in love fast, the two spent a lot of their time together. At 17, Ginny disappeared from Hogwarts, two months after Xaver disappeared. Three years later, she came back on the scene with a little boy named Cody Xian. The day the Ministry found out about little Cody, Xaver reappeared.
A year later, the two were married, with their son as the best man.

The Forest / Melancholy
May 4, 2009, 12:21:37 AM
((I'm feeling rather melancholy at the moment. Forgive me.))

Ginny stood in the center of a clearing, her eyes downcast upon the forest floor. Her hands were in her hoodie pockets, and she hardly moved. Only her hair stirred when the warm wind lazily went through the clearing. She seemed oblivious to all around her, including the large grey wolf that lay at the edge of the clearing.

Over five years ago, this very clearing had been where her life had changed for the better. Up until that point, Ginny had led a respected but unhappy life. She had just begun the final steps of her divorce from her first husband, Conan, and had escaped to the forest to think about where things had gone wrong between them. Then Fate literally kicked her in the stomach, in the form of a boy she hardly knew.

"Sorry," he said.
She rubbed her side and sat up, blinked.
"Ow." She said, shaking her head then looking at him, "It's alright, I guess. You didn't mean to." She smiled.
"What's up, Xaver?"

Ginny closed her eyes, a small smile forming on her lips as she recalled the sillyness of that day. He had been so sweet, trying to cheer her up about her divorce. It had worked, he made her laugh. She remembered the way he watched her, and a flush crept up into her cheeks. She'd been blind then, not to realize the looks he kept giving her were more than the usual. She recalled helping him with his barriers, he'd been really bad at them. The way she'd held his hand to lend him some of her powers, the upside down feeling it had given her stomach upon touching him. Then the way a vision had flattened her barriers and he had opened his powers to her.
And the way she had thanked him.

She leaned forward and kissed him lightly on the lips. It was like an electrical surge went through both of them. She let go of his hand and took a step back, "Thank you."
"You are welcome. Literally. Whenever." He was smiling, but she didn't see that. She looked away in embarrassment. Xaver gently hooked his finger under her chin, looking into her eyes for a long moment. He smiled slightly, then returned her kiss with one of his own.

The wolf on the edge of the clearing let out a small whine, and slowly stood. His noise knocked Ginny from her memories and she shook her head to clear it. She was still smiling, but sadly.
"Come here old guy." She said softly to the wolf. He slowly walked to her, bumping her hand with his nose so she would pet him.

"I wish we were both younger. I really do, Moon." She told him, kneeling and rubbing behind his ears. "But I do love my life. Who would have thought I'd be the one with a happy ending? Not me."
She shook her head, sighing.

She had gone through a lot before she was 16 years old. She had seen death, had caused it. She knew the worst parts of life and had seemingly gone through hell to get back. She'd seen her friends come and go, had seen friends die. But upon reflection, she wouldn't change a thing Because even she knew that one small thing in the past changed everything in the future. And she loved her future.

Around The Grounds / Angels, dæmons, and humans.
March 3, 2009, 10:52:26 AM
Usually, small boys didn't wonder in the forest. It was a dangerous place for actual students, let alone a small five year old boy. But Cody wasn't a usual boy. Hell, he wasn't even human really. Not to mention who his parents were. His mother had ruled the forest years ago, and her old alliances remembered her son.
He was in less danger than the most powerful student at the school.

Which was exactly why the blue eyed, black haired boy sat in a forest clearing reading a book that seemed half his size. The words on the pages were not in English, but rather Italian. He turned the pages much more swiftly than any child should be able to, reading quickly and intently.

Finally he came to a page where he made a face. Seemingly annoyed with the words in front of him, he slammed the large book closed and threw it in the dirt beside him. He lay back, his arms behind his head and closed his eyes, mumbling to himself about angels, dæmons, and humans.

Hogsmead / New life;;new strife
February 23, 2009, 10:31:09 AM
"Co-dee! Play with me!" A small girls voice, somewhere in the darkness around him. He can't see a thing, not even his hand in front of his face. Beside's the girl's voice, he hears nothing.
"I would, but I can't see you." He answers, his voice coming out muffled and strange. She makes a noise that sounds like the begining of crying.
"But Cody, I'm scared! Please come find me and play with me. It's dark here."

Cody scowled at the rememberence of his dream from the night before. Why was he recalling it? Strange nightmares were usual for him, why did this one bother him so much? He shoved his hands deep in the pockets of his coat as he trudged up the street. His grandmother walked about a foot in front of him, chattering away.

"Isn't this exciting? Just think, a new baby! I'll bet your mom and dad will let you hold her and feed her!" And on and on she went, not really expecting the brooding five year old to answer. She thought he was upset about his mother having the baby today.

The truth was, Cody was excited about the baby. He simply couldn't wait to see this new sibling. But in light of his recent dream, something was bothering him.
"You think my dad will tell us when she's born?" He suddenly asked, cutting off his grandma's ceaseless talking.

She turned and blinked at him, thinking. "Yes, I think he will."

Ginny was 7 month pregnant, which meant it was time for her last class. She wasn't really looking forward to it, having to explain to the classes what would happen for their last few months of school until summer began. They had already complained so much about her having to leave, it seemed as though none of them had given even one iota of thought about how important this was to her.

This baby was more important to her than any of them would ever realize. It symbolized her and Xaver's relationship, as well as their small family, becoming whole. But these students wouldn't understand that. Actually, they couldn't. They were just kids, after all.

She had understood at that age, but she had been different. Something about growing up as fast as she had. By the time she was thirteen, she had killed more people than any of them could count. That's why she had gotten married so young, she;d needed to shoulder the responsibility caused from her killing the previous dictator. But her husband hadn't been stable enough to grow up like that. No other child would be able to.

The students disgusted her sometimes, actually. They believed they were old enough to make decisions about their lives and they really had no idea the impact that those decisions would have. They thought that they were in love with their boyfriends and girlfriends they had now, but they hadn't a clue what love took.
Ginny had decided to show them.

The bell rang, and Ginny slowly pushed herself out from behind her desk. She had stood to greet her class every day since she had started teaching them, and it wouldn't stop now, even with the backaches. Besides, when she was sitting down, it was hard to tell she was even pregnant. Where most women became slightly swollen around their faces, her's had stayed thin. The only extension visible on her body was her belly, where the growing baby was patiently waiting. She was still as small as ever, still as young looking as ever.

Students began to file in, and Ginny nodded to each of them. She wasn't smiling, wasn't showing any of them anything but acknowledgment. This wasn't going to be a fun class. In fact, it was going to be rather scary for them.

The Hogs Head / shivers and terrors (pm to join)
December 28, 2008, 02:10:58 PM
Ginny's mouth was dry, her palms were sweaty, and she felt jittery. Every single instinct was screaming at her to leave, now. Everything she had ever learned about survival said to turn around and leave.
Right now.

By sheer force of will, she settled into a booth by herself, ordering a cup of tea and looking round the room. Subconsciously looking for all the exits, all the ways out. And an excuse.
Some reason to leave.

Stop it, she told herself.
Stop being a baby. A wuss. A scardy cat.
Thats right, Ginny was scared.

No.

She was terrified. Her hands shook as she lifted her cup to her mouth, almost spilling the hot liquid on herself. Her eyes darted around the pub, glancing at everything. Fast. Too fast.
Ginny felt sick. Maybe she should have told someone?
Who?

The only one she should have told was Xaver.
And if he knew of whom she was looking for, he'd have never let her out of his sight.

The pretty redhead bit her lip as she thought of her husband. Something was different about him lately. He wasn't exactly sick...more like, not right. She worried about him. Because she had no clue what was happening to him.
Which was why she was here, in all her pregnant and vulnerable glory.
To speak to the one person who may be able to help her find out what was wrong with her husband.

His brother.

((Closed until such time that Xaver gets on and posts for me.))

She knew it could very well be the hormones.
But she didn't care.
Ginny picked up the small glass paperweight sitting on her desk and threw it hard, at the wall.
She took a grim satisfaction in watching it smash.

On the desk lay a letter, which she now turned to and ripped up. Crumpled it in her hand and watched as it burst into flame. Then she threw the ashes as well.

The silent house seemed to mock her silent outburst.
So she screamed.

All the frustrations of the past year let out.
Raising a small child who was actually smarter than she was. Her job. The Ministry. Conan. Mahn. No sleep on account of being pregnant. Everything.

She stamped a foot, storming from the living room into her room, walking past a mirror. She caught a glimpse of herself. She looked crazy. Her red hair was frizzy, staticky. Her eyes were surrounded by dark circles from lack of sleep. She wore thick sweatpants, probably an old pair of Xaver's and a huge thick white sweater. She was freezing.

Once in her and Xaver's room, she took pleasure in pushing things off her dresser top. Watching them smash to the floor. The small crash didn't satisfy her. She wanted noise!
Cody wasn't home. He was with her brother Bill and his family.
To the zoo or something.
She had no clue where Xaver was.

The house was too quiet. She felt alone.
She screamed again, remembering the stupid letter.
She went back into the living room, swiping all her papers from her desk.

"I hate that stupid-" She couldn't figure out what to call the person of whom she spoke. She paused, standing in the middle of her destruction. Her fists were clenched and she seemed to be thinking.
She couldn't seem to come up with a name bad enough.

Harry Potter Fan Fiction / Child King
December 8, 2008, 12:42:51 PM
{This one is actually finished and written in my notebook. All I need to do is type it out and post it. So if I stop, it is up to you guys to pester me.}

Child King

The small dark haired boy cautiously walked through the undergrowth of the forest. He rubbed his arms, trying to warm them up. He had left his hoodie behind and it was snowing out. He supposed it would have been better if he'd thought to grab it before he'd left. Actually, it would have been better if he hadn't run at all. If he'd stayed home, he could be sitting in the kitchen now, drinking hot chocolate with his mother and father while Meliody napped.
Meliody. His new baby sister. He grinned at the simple thought of her. He'd always wanted a sibling, had always wanted to be a brother. It wasn't her he was angry at. The simple thought of that was impossible. Meliody with her sweet baby smile and her beautiful blue eyes so like his own. No, it was not her.
It was his parents this time. Their parents. Before Meliody's birth, he had thought they were so protective of him because he was an only child. He had thought that would change. But it didn't. Nothing changed. He was still given the same amount of undivided attention, and was still told no. Actually it was his mother who said no. His father only agreed. But that made it all the worse. His father was his hero.
The little boy went to a tree, jumping to grasp a low hanging branch. A very low hanging branch. Surprisingly quick and agile, he pulled himself up, then continued climbing upwards. About twenty feet from the ground he sat on the branch, swinging his feet. He pulled out a small pocket knife. The one his grandfather had given him for Christmas. He began to cut into the rough bark. Just three letters. X-C-X. Xerxes Codium Xian.
He wrinkled his nose. His mother had chosen his first name for it's historical value. Xerxes had ruled Persia over three thousand years ago. He had been known as King of the World. His mom had thought the name appropriate for him. His middle name, however, he did like. It was much more original. So much so that no one had ever heard of it. But someday.
Someday everyone would know his name. People would chant it. They would fear it. They would respect it. They would love him. All would know him, all would praise him. He knew it.
A twig snapped, bringing him from his daydream. He jumped, surprised. He was never surprised! How could he have been caught off guard? He was never caught of guard.
"Who's there?" He demanded in his soft voice. He stood on the tree branch, preparing himself to jump.
"Only I, your faithful servant." The voice belonged to a dark haired man who stood only a few feet away. His olive complexion and dark  eyes gave him a Mediterranean look. He smiled, but it was no comforting. It was downright creepy. He showed too many teeth. Like an animal.
"Mahn." Caution was scarcely hidden in the child's voice, 'What do you want?" He had been taught to be weary of this one. Actually he'd been taught to flee this one.
Mahn took a few steps closer, his hands in the pockets of his warm jacket. The snow stuck to him, looking as though someone had splattered him with white paint. "Cody, you need not sound so happy to see me you know."
Cody gritted his teeth, scowling. He didn't particularly like Mahn. But something about the man drew him in, forcing him to play the game of words, "I wouldn't ever be happy to see you. Now leave, before my mother discovers your presence and I get into trouble." He spoke harshly, anger apparent.
Mahn appeared upset, "I'm stung, Cody. I really I am. Whatever can I do to win back your favor?" he sounded honestly upset. Cody frowned at him, watching his facial expressions closely.
"Leave." He said finally, "I don't have time for your antics today." He jumped from the tree, landing on the snow covered ground with a muffled thud. He brushed himself off and began to walk away.
But, "Not even if my so called antics can help you achieve your dream?" And Mahn was leaning down, his face close to Cody's. He had on hand on Cody's shoulder, holding him in place.
The child felt his heart still. Achieve his dream? How did he know? Did he guess? Cody looked at Mahn, forcing his face to be expressionless, "What are you talking about?"
Mahn chuckled, "You know. Your dream to rule. Your dream of power." His breath was warm, "Did you think no one knew?" Cody felt himself freeze in place. His dream? How could Mahn help him achieve his dream?
"How?" He narrowed his eyes. Mahn had no power, how could he promise Cody any?
Mahn smiled again, "Sulai sent me to fetch you." Oh. That explained it. Conan Sulai was Cody's mother's ex husband. As well as the King of ancient Romania.
Cody swallowed. He felt fluttery, lightheaded. Dizzy. Slowly, he attempted to shake his head. "My parents will never allow it."
"Who ever heard of a king that didn't make his own decisions?" The older man grinned, leaning closer.
Cody bit his lip. That was true. True, d**nit! But this was Mahn Herion, the man who had constantly been after Cody's mother. The man who had promised to kill her before he died.
"Why should I trust you?" The boy asked.
Mahn's smile became wider. He knew he'd won, 'because we both know you'll kill me if I betray you."
That answer. That admission of weakness was exactly what Cody needed to hear. How Mahn knew to play into Cody's ego was beyond him. But it worked. He blinked, giving Mahn a surprised look. He said nothing, just slowly nodded. Mahn grinned, moving his hand from the child's shoulder to his neck, quickly pressing the pressure point there.
Cody's eyes went wide and he slumped to the ground, unconscious. As soon as he was out, Mahn lost his grin. He knelt down, checking to be sure that Cody was fully unconscious. He picked the boy up, holding him as if Cody were his own child.
"What an interesting child king you will make, Xerxes." He muttered, turning. He left the forest, leaving only his footsteps. Which were soon covered by the falling snow.

The Forest / .nobody said {growing up} was fun
December 6, 2008, 05:16:24 AM
Ginny kissed her son's forehead as she dropped him off at her parents that morning. He was preoccupied with his book, half ignoring her even as he muttered a good-bye. She sighed, rubbing her eyes as she made her way to the school. Her morning classes were slow and boring, a few students hardly even staying awake.
She couldn't blame them.
She could hardly stay awake.

The lunch bell rang, and Ginny simply didn't feel up to going to the Great Hall. Instead she went outside, to the forest. She was wrapped up in a large black hoodie, her defense for the blowing winds. Along with a black knit hat and gloves.

She grumbled as she picked her way though the snow, slightly off balance because of her extended stomach. She was three months pregnant now, and still wasn't used to the idea. It didn't help that she never slept, and that her powers were on the fritz. But that came with the whole thing.
Ginny rubbed her eyes, yawning and leaning against a tree as she looked around her.

Her mind began to wander, and she began to think about her life. She'd been through a lot, she realized. Her childhood hadn't been normal, and it had been short. She;d gotten married at 13, divorced at 16. She'd killed millions, and saved even more. Until recently, she'd faced danger every day.
She went through losing the one she loved,, having his child, and the shock of having him come back.
She had almost lost him again.

But here she was. Married, happily, with a little boy and a baby on the way. How did this work out? She was slightly confused by this. Why did she deserve such happiness?

She didn't. At least in her opinion.

She groaned, rubbing her head.
"I wish I could sleep." She muttered to herself.

Ginny quietly opened the door to her house, feeling tired but exuberant. Within a moment of stepping in the door, she was practically tackled by her and Xaver's five year old son, Cody.

The boy threw his arms around his mother's waist, excited that she was home. "Mom! Guess what? Dad helped me paint my room!"

Ginny managed a smile at Cody, "Oh? What color, angel?" She asked, only half interested. She didn't see Xaver. Was he still in Cody' room? She had important news.

"We painted it blue, like the sky. It even has clouds, Mom. It looks really cool. Come and see!" Cody was so excited.

((This is my second try. THIS time, follow all the rules you guys have ever learned. Type correctly, keep with the plot, and imagine you were here from the first post on. You must have at least three sentences to post.))

The bell rang loudly and Ginny clapped her hands for the attention of her students. She smiled, her eyes twinkling as she looked over them. After there was silence she nodded.
"Well, I must tell you guys my interesting news."

Ginny herself was interesting. Her bright red hair was braided down her back, pulled from her face. She wore jeans and an oversized hoodie, uncommon for teachers. Common for her, however.
But something seemed different.

She seemed to almost glow.

"Or should I wait until after class?"

Harry Potter Fan Fiction / Quick Blurb

"The Book of Enoch..." When his mother had handed him the book earlier that day, he had been vuagly angry with her. He'd said that she never told him anything, especially about before he was born. He knew nothing of his mother when she had been a child. A teenager.

He'd heard the stories. From both sides. In one hand, she was angelic in nature. Kind, sweet, loving. She'd have done anything for anyone. In the other, she was demonic. Able to kill without blinking an eyelash. Perfectly okay with the idea of death.
One thing everyone had always agreed upon had been her beauty and brains. Her power, they said, was strong. Not as powerful as some, but for a normal child born from a normal family, she was astounding.

But he knew so little of her in reality. And she didn't like to talk about it much. He'd asked her about his father, but she had only retold him the story of when they'd fell in love. He didn't know his parents. It wounded him.

Cody could read people. He was an analyzer, a thinker. Simply by watching someone for a moment, he could tell what they were like. He knew if their intentions were good, or bad. He could guess what they would do next.
He could do that with everyone.

Except his parents.

Now, he sat cross legged in his backyard. The leather clad book he had in his lap was part of the Old Testament. The Bible. Enoch was supposedly the great grandfather of Noah. Cody struggled with his lessons in Christianity mythicism. Noah was the man who built the Ark under God's command.
Why had God commended this? Because a flood...a flood to destroy the evil that had wrought the world, was on it's way. 40 days and 40 nights and blah blah blah.

Cody reverted his attention to the book.

His mom had said, "When you are done reading this, come find me. I'll tell you something you won't find out from anyone, Angel."

He opened the book, skimming it lightly and frowning. The first part, called the Book of the Watchers.
The Watchers? Cody's mouth twisted into a thin smile. Watchers, huh?
Sounded....perverted.

Cody shook his head, returning to the words before him. The Watcher's were given a proper name; The Grigori.

Angels sent down from heaven to protect the children of Adam.

Cody furrowed his brow, the connection coming slowly. Angels, sent to Earth...slowly he began to read aloud.

"When men began to multiply on earth and daughters were born to them, the sons of God saw how beautiful the daughters of man were, and so they took for their wives as many of them as they chose. Then the Lord said: "My spirit shall not remain in man forever, since he is but flesh. His days shall comprise one hundred and twenty years." At that time the Nephilim appeared on earth (as well as later), after the sons of God had intercourse with the daughters of man, who bore them sons. They were the heroes of old, the men of renown."

Something clicked and Cody jumped up, the book falling from his lap. He found he was breathing hard. A memory, hallow and soft touched his mind.

"That's just it. 'Angel'. Momma says we're 'Fallen angels', but... Fallen? We fell down"
"It's an old legend, the origin of the term, in this world anyway, lies in the Hebrew word for 'giants'. The Hebrew word translated from giants is 'nephilim', a plural, which itself comes from the root word Naphal, an infinitive which means 'to fall'."

Cody backed up. His breath coming irregularly. He felt like he would faint. He swallowed hard, trying to keep himself upright. And then his mother was at his side, kneeling and pulling him into her lap while she kissed his face.

"Angel, it's alright. Take even breaths, sweetie..." Ginny's cool hand ran through his dark hair and Cody struggled to do as he was told.

"Mom...what am I?" He turned his horrified eyes to her. A Nephilim...the reason God destroyed mankind with that flood. Leaving only Noah and his family. He shuddered and Ginny puled him closer.

"You are my son." She said strongly and Cody looked up. Ginny smiled, tightly. "Cody, understand this. When I was pregnant with you, when your father left, I was obsessed with knowing all I could about the Fallen. I didn't know what you would be like. I wasn't sure...that you would be anything remotely human...anything with a soul. I didn't even know if you would kill me the moment you were born." Her voice caught, "I read that...and decided that I was going to love you no matter what. That I would do whatever it took, if only for you. I am your mother, you are my son. You are not what this book describes. You are an angel descent from Heaven. You are Xerxes Codium Xian."

Cody struggled with himself, "But what does this have to do...with what I wanted to know about you?"

Ginny sighed, "You only wish to know about me and your dad because you want to know about yourself. You want to understand....you want to understand something that no one does."

Cody realized with a jerk that she was right. Although it would be cool to know what his parents were truly like, he had been curious for himself. His cheeks tainted with red, and he looked away.
"Actually," He muttered, "This does say something about you."

Ginny gave him a puzzled look, to which Cody replied, "It shows that you may not be perfect, but you do what you can for those you love."

Now it was Ginny's turn to flush.

The Lake / .exhaustion
October 11, 2008, 11:52:09 AM
"Ginny, talk to me for two minutes."

"Screw you, Mahn. I told you to stay away!" Ginny stood facing a dark haired, olive skinned man on the shore of the lake. She looked pale, almost sick as she glared at him. The only color in her face was two splotches of pink on her cheeks. She was angry at the man, obviously named Mahn.

"I know, but I swear I didn't come to do any harm!"

Ginny growled, clenching her fists, "Even when you don't mean to, you bring harm to me."

Mahn looked pained, "Come on, love. Two minutes, all it takes."

"I don't know how they got you to do it, but I'm not letting them take my son! I told Conan that, I told Sam, and now I'm telling you. I Will NOT announce my son as the crowned prince! It's too dangerous." Ginny's red hair whipped around her face as a chilly wind blew. The autumn day was cold, enough that both of them wore warm hoodies and jeans. Mahn wore gray, however. Ginny wore black.

Mahn scowled, "You don't know what's dangerous for him, love!" Ginny's eyes flashed.
"He's a lot more powerful than you realize! He controlled me, for God's sake! Me, Ginny! Even you can't do that!"

Ginny was shaking, she was so angry.
"No, no, no, no, no!" She screamed the last one. "Get the f**k out of here before I f*(king kill you!"

The Forest / .what's in a [name]?
September 15, 2008, 09:17:08 AM
Cody sat crosslegged on the forest floor, a large leather-bound book opened in his lap. His dark hair swept across his forehead as it wrinkled with concentration. The four year old was reading, yes reading, a lengthy page before him. Although their were pictures, they were not the child friendly ones that people were used to seeing in children's books. They were photos, paintings.

Cody propped his elbow on his knee, his chin in his hand as he studied the text before him.

'Xerxes was son of Darius the Great and Atossa. After his accession in October 485 BC, he suppressed the revolts in Egypt and Babylon that had broken out the year before and appointed his brother Achaemenes as governor or satrap over Egypt. In 484 BC, he took away from Babylon the golden statue of Bel, the hands of which the rightful king of Babylon had to take a hold of on the first day of each year, and killed the priest who tried to get in his way. Therefore Xerxes does not bear the title of King in the Babylonian documents dated from his reign, but King of Persia and Media or simply King of countries (i.e. of the world).'

A small smile grew upon Cody's pale face. This was the man he was named for? King of the World?
Interesting.
Cody knew that names had much bearing. Some people never told their true names, doing so gave others power over them. Some could afford that small amount of power. Most couldn't.

The Fallen boy looked up, seemingly at the trees, but his eyes were distant as he thought.
King of the World?
Fallen Prince.
What was this?
Names, ideas, Kings, Princes.
His father.
His uncle...
Xences, was his name?
Xaver and Xences?
X names, yes, but given as such because of the power of twins?
Twins?
Heracles and Iphicles? Or more like Artemis and Apollo?
Opposites, representing the dualstic nature of the universe?

But weren't such things dependent of a person's choices? Surely it could go anyway? Mind over matter? Why was his uncle so dangerous? Why was he so...evil?
And what made Xaver so diffrent? Was he really so diffrent?

Cody knew of his father's impulses. He felt them. He knew of the underlying nature? But was that really nature, or simply a creation...something embedded in Xaver Xian from childhood?
Because he was the Fallen Prince?
What did that make Cody at this age?

He was only the Prince by title. He had done nothing to earn this.
But he was the firstborn in his family. And he sensed not the last.

It was quite possible that somewhere along the road, maybe not the next but possibly the next after that, that there would be twins in his family. Would the twins be such as Xaver and his brother?
Or would they be like his mother\s brothers? Closer beyond belief, even after the death of one of them?
That play...Blood Brothers?
What was it that was said?
'If twins separated at birth learn that they were once one of a pair they will both immediately die.'

Twins separated? What about twins kept together? Was it possible that both could live? Or must one die eventually? Long before the other?
Must they be separated by cruel nature, even after such nature granted them togetherness?

Such thoughts couldn't be heard, or even guessed by looking at the child's face. He simply looked in intense thought. He bit his lip, his ice blue eyes surveying the area around him. With a sigh, he closed the book and placed it beside him. He flopped onto his back and looked up into the sky. Large clouds dotted the deep blue. It would rain later in the day...a nice cleansing rain.

Cody rubbed his eyes, letting his thoughts continue in their almost endless cycle.
