SPOILERS FOR BOOK 6 BELOW

Okay...that was a wierd deal when Harry is chasing Snape and Snape just keeps blocking his spells and won't let anyone harm him. I mean Snape clearly killed Dumbledore..and I don't care if he has an excuse in the end or not. I still really wonder though if somehow in the end he'll help Harry or what not.

Also there's Draco, we all know he didn't want to kill Dumbledore and told Dumbledore himself the only reason he was doing any of that was because his family and himself were threatened with death.

Harry is clearly going to have to be working on Occlumency and Legilimency if he's going to stand any chance against Snape let alone Voldemort.

Anyone else have any thoughts? I have some more just have so much running through my head right now I can't really get it out. I just finished HBP.

JK Rowling said that some non magicals would out of desperation be forced to use magic at some point in book 7. She also said that she was going to reveal some more things about Aunt Petunia, she did say the non magical using magic would not be her though. That would be interesting if Mrs. Norris or Crookshanks were animagis but I don't think that would be used this late in the series. Maybe in earlier books.

I always hate in movies where in an earlier movie a character is not so important so they have some not so well known actor but then when that character becomes important they change the cast. I like that so far they've kept basically all the original cast members throughout the movies. It would be very very very hard to watch the movies if such a dramatic change as Hermione's part was changed.

Destroying that Horcruxe won't be easy, look at Dumbledore's wand hand for instance. I mean either there was a friggin bad curse on anyone who tried to destroy the ring or the place you had to get it from cursed him. Either way, Dumbledore couldn't escape unscathed and was far ahead of Harry, unfortunately.

Rowling clarified that "Dumbledore is definitely dead", when asked by Salman Rushdie and others at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Rowling answered the same question three times, each time with increasing conviction.

now that's ambiguous enough that somehow some strange way he'll still be able to help Harry. Who knows, every book has a new suprise and we know JK won't dissappoint. I just hope that none of the trio die..that would be devastating.

From what I've seen throughout the course of the books that doesn't seem like something that JK would do. I can't explain it, it just doesn't seem likely. When Remus first saw Harry he immediatley had a fatherly or even brotherly affection for Harry because he knew his dad and mother well. Nothing JK has said has elluded to this. I suppose if this were to happen in the last book then she would keep it as tightly under the hat as possible. I do wonder if somehow Harry will be able to communicate with his dead parents or see something like their wedding in a Pensieve but I don't think any parents will be coming back.

After reading the book I'm really excited. OotP is probably my favorite book in the series yet.

Sorting Hat / New Harry Potter fan here!

Awesome. Okay, I'm a hardcore Lord of the Rings fan. Saw the first movie, was immediately infatuated with the story. Read all the books, saw all the movies, now it's over :(. I've always loved Fantasy and movies that seem Fantastic but also could really be true by the way they are explained. Like M. Night Shayamlan's movies. I saw the first harry potter about a month ago and QUICKLY my interest was captured. Before I hated Harry Potter simply because I saw it as a rival to LOTR. Happy to say as soon as I saw the first one I wanted to see more. I found and watched half of th Goblet of Fire on youtube, rented it then saw the rest, then I watched Prisoner of Azkaban, last Chamber of Secrets(out of order I know..did it with reading the LOTR books too). I watched a couple of them over and decided I wasn't ready to wait for OotP the movie.

So I got the audio book of it and Half Blood Prince for whenever I decided to listen to that. Turned out I loved OotP so much I started HBP right after, now both are blurred together lol, but I did that in 2 weeks and man am I pumped for Deathly Hallows. Can't explain how I was just thrust into this fandom but no one else I know really likes HP and I needed some way to share my joy in it and some place to speculate with other fans of Deathly Hallows.

That's my intro, I will be joining Gryfindor, as so many new fans do I'm sure, I just can't think of myself anywhere else but the same house as my favorite characters.
