School was in session so they had a clear run to Madam Pomfrey, who shrieked when she saw Kiara. "My goodness, what happened and what are you all doing here? Put her over there and some one go get Professor Dumbledore." Pomfrey got busy right away. After she had done what she could for Kiara, she fixed up Max's cuts. The best she could do for Kiara's was to bandage them. Pomfrey knew, from past experience, that nothing she tried would heal her. Kiara had to heal herself.

Ron soon returned with Professor Dumbledore. "What happened here? What are you all doing here?" He asked. They explained what happened after Dumbledore had left the wedding. Ron and Em then, showed Dumbledore the room where they had found them. "I see, Draco must have worked long and hard on this when he was here. I'll see to it that this room is not used again." Dumbledore said angrily as they walked back to the Hospital wing. "Poppy, Kiara is to stay here until she heals. It's the safest place for her just now. Max, you of course, can stay with her. The rest of you can come join us in the Hall for lunch, if you like." Ron, Harry and Emily, each laid a hand on Max's shoulder as they left the room. When all was quiet and no one was around, Max cried... He blamed himself for this, although, clearly, he had no control over it. Draco always told me to stay away, told me -- he stopped that thought there. No way would he ever had been able to stay away from her. From the first time he saw her, he was drawn to her. He reached out and brushed her hair from her face then leaned down and kissed her forehead

Several hours had passed when finally Kiara woke. She gasped and sat up quickly. Then, looking around, saw Max. She started to cry. He held her. "It's ok, your safe, it's ok --" He held her until she cries herself out. When she'd stopped Max brought her face up to look at hem. "I'm sorry, I -- we couldn't find you. I don't know how but --" Kiara was shaking her head. "NO! You don't have anything to be sorry about. You did find me." She laid back down. "You should try and get some sleep now." Max told her. She tried but each time she closed her eyes, Images of Draco would flash in her mind. She finally gave up and opened her eyes. "What's wrong?"
"Can't sleep." Kiara said simply. "But you need to sleep in order to heal---" Kiara was shaking her head again. "I CAN"T!" she spoke loudly and with a terrible anger. Kiara turned over and curled into a ball and started crying again. This time when Max tried to comfort her she jerked her shoulder away.
