The world plays tricks
You can only find the truth when it's too late.
I know now there is no such thing as Love.
Not as we hope it to be.
Not like in the movies
Or in our dreams.

The Love we shared with the two of us
Me and you.
It has wafted away,
Like a piece of drift wood
in the sea.

I can see only darkness now
As I stoop to pick up the blackened pieces of my heart.
I no longer feel the joy
My heart has darkened to the light of love.
Only one can fix it.
And you have forsaken me.

So here I dwell in the blackness of my heart.
No longer caring
No longer willing to care.
No longer wanting.
