I think you should stick to HP icons.  And, the Admin has put up enough, I think.  To change your icon, you have to go back into your profile.  I don't know what the part is called, sorry, you'll have to look.  I think there is one for Cedric Diggory.
O, and also remember, the Admin has a life of his own, ya know, he can't spend all his time here. ;)
To post your pics, it has to be hosted on the interent already.  Once you have it somewhere else, you copy the url, and put in the YaBB Tag that looks like a picture frame. :)
