Harry's Relatives

Hey everyone!!!  I am new here and just had an idea...which I am sure that everyone else has had...but still worth a little discusion.  Okay so Harry's Relatives...I know that to our knowledge he only has the Dursley's are his only family.  However in the fifth book Dumbledore says something that makes me wonder.  When he is explaining to Harry why he must return to the Dursley's every year, he says..."I delivered you to her sister, her only remaining relative" (836).  So it is her only relative...what about James' side???  Perhaps he has some family that we don't know about.  Maybe even someone we know...  Now I know one of the arguments against this is that we would have seen the people in the Mirror or erised in book one.  However, we didn't see Petunia.  Okay...well I am now rambling...and basically I was wondering if anyone felt Harry has other relatives that we don't know about.  Thanks for your time.

Well I think James's family r all dead.......And they were shown in the Mirror of Erised.............But we haven't seen Petunia in the Mirror coz she's part of Lily's family, And they weren't shown in the mirror...........

The only thing that detours me from truely believing this is the fact that I do not believe Dumbledore so evil as to leave poor Harry in the cusdody of the Dursley's when perhaps there is someone else he could be safe with..  *Shrugs*  But who knows?  I still think him related to Voldy.  lol, but I am a bit twisted that way.   :-*

I tend to agree with the lot of you, I am so confused.  Does he have family?  And if so Why does Dumbledore continue to torchure the poor guy by leaving him with those awful Muggles!  Hum, well at any rate, who knows but JK herself?

Well the reason that Dumbledore makes Harry go back to the Dursley's every summer is because Petunia is the last relative on Lily's side.  And in order to complete the old magic has to call home a place that has Lily's blood.

But that still leaves James's family.  He couldn't live with them because they have none of Lily's blood in them.  So my thinking is that there might be some other family that we might find out about.

You have a point there.  Perhaps we will but like Bastian pointed out.....no one knows for sure but J.K herself.  ;)

Well, i guess the reason that Petunia aint in the Mirror of Erised, is that the mirror shows what you want, and Harry dont exactly like Petunia and teh crew does he?  ;)
