Box Office Mojo is reporting that Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban pulled in an estimated $40,800,000 friday, it's first day of US release. This is a huge sum of money for the first friday of a release, and if the estimate holds it will be the best opening day of all time. And if the box office tradition holds of saturdays making more money than fridays, then PoA could have the biggest weekend box office sum ever in history! We'll keep you posted on Sunday afternoon when they release the weekend totals. In the mean time, go see the movie again and help PoA get the all time weekend box office crown.
