"Without a common power to keep them in check, there will be no advancement, and the life of man is poor, solitary, nasty, brutish, and short."~Thomas Hobbes

that wasn't really a poem but the guy who published it hought it was. lolz the next one is more serious.
Don't do it behind the garden gate, love is blind but the neighbours ain't!
Can I get your picture? I collect nature disasters.
Whoever said nothing's impossible never tried to slam a revolving door.
I must confess, I was born at a very early age

ok.

When I woke up I ran into a wall that wasn't there last light and by mistake, I broke my whole CD collection.
It's going to be a miserable, awful, dreadful, brutal day.
I think I'll marry a rich English man.
On the way to school, I had to sit in the spot where my brother peed yesterday.
I said I said, "Why can't he sit here."
No one even answered.
I could tell that it was going to be a miserable, awful, dreadful, brutal day.
I know this because my friend told me that I was fat and stupid and never going to make it in the real world.
I hope you fall on your fat ugly face I said to her.
At lunch, I found a Pb and j sandwich with water.
Lucy had pizza, and Paris eat Chubbies.
After school I stayed in my seat because I punched a boy for poking me;
that English man is looking really rich right now.
We eat squid for dinner and I hate squid;
Yu-gi-o is on TV and I hate Yu-gi-o.
My room's too hot, it's really smelly, I got a rash and my hair is sweaty.
I hate sweaty hair.
Today is a miserable, awful, dreadful, brutal day.
My mom says some days are like that.

Ok here's my 3rd one. its longer than my other 2, and its not quite perfect yet, but I like it, tell me what you think:

The Message in the Sand

Rocking back and forth
Between darkness and the light
I saw the world as it is
And I was mystified.

As the shadow crept upon me
Its dark hand reaching for my heart
I saw the world in darkness
And I was terrified.

I saw the world on fire
With black forms here and there
And the land ran red with blood
And I was horrified.

As the terrible scene played out
My soul was filled with stone
And I heard a soft sound playing
And my heart was consoled.

I followed the sound through all the world
'til I found what I was after
And the nearer I drew, the happier I got,
And I was lifted up.

I then observed a little boy
Softly singing to a little girl
Who was but slowly falling into dreams
And I was deeply touched.

I inquired of the little child
Why he was in this place
This world is no place for a child I said
And I was answered thus:

I am here since no one else will come,
I am your only hope
I am the way through this world
So take my hand and follow.

I inquired of the little boy
Where he would have me go
For I have traveled the wide world
And have seen no different then this.

There is a place the boy quickly said
A joyous place indeed.
You will love it there, he said,
So take my hand and follow.

But still I resisted
There can be no such place, I screamed,
Recoiling from this vision of joy,
And I slowly backed away.

Do not be alarmed, the child softly whispered
Coming closer and extending his hand.
I can bring you to this place you desire,
So take my hand and follow.

Although I was certain that
This place could not exist,
I took the child's small, soft hand
And we began the journey.

Slowly we walked, hand in hand
And the world seemed all the brighter,
And as we walked it seemed alright
And the world seemed all the brighter.

This cannot be, I suddenly exclaimed,
And the world seemed all the darker,
This world cannot be better I said,
And the world seemed all the darker.

Do not fight the sun, he said,
It will be alright,
For to go you must trust, and to trust you must go,
So take my hand and follow.

Nervous I took again the hand
And the world seemed all the brighter,
And for hours we walked along the seashore
Where the ocean meets the land.

Eventually the world was fine,
And gone was all the fire,
And all around me I saw,
Faith and hope and love.

And as I turned around and looked,
I noticed in the sand,
Only my footprints and a note which read,
Take my hand and follow.
