harry trudged threw the moring, wishing the horrible, not to mention embarassing day would end. he kept thinknig of those last five minutes, wodnering why or how he had fought it that only time. would it mean volde.mort is getting....weaker?

harry was suddenly interupted by professor mcgonagall, who had walked right up to him, her lips getting slightly thinner by the second.

'potter! stop day dreaming and answer mym question! O.W.L.'s r cumnig up, quickly,and if your not ready, you'll fail!' Professor Mcgonagall snapped threatningly.

'Sorry, Professor - it's just - uum...' Harry wasn't sure what he could say.
He couldn't go on about how he kept getting the weirdest dreams, how he kept getting anonimos letters... he settled on a lie.

'Potter?' professor mcgonagall scowled, walking even closer to him ,and bemding down to look him in the eye.

'Uuuh, nothing, professor. nothing...just don't feel very well.'

hermione looked like she was fighting a hard battle, trying hard not to wave her hand in the air and explain what had happened two lessons ago.


'u do look sick, potter. i suppose you sholud go down to the hospital wing then.' she said, her thin lips almost gonig back to their normal state.

'No!' harry said quickly. he couldnt spend another night in that hospital wing.
he was sick of its white walls, its white sheets, and the amount of care he got, especially from madam pomfrey.

'its ok, professor, im probably just tired or hungry or sumthing.
 
she didnt seemed convinced.

'really. im fine, professor.'

she stared at him hard, as if she were trying to see threw him. she finally continued the lesson, every now and then making sure harry wasn't sprouting fangs or anything odd like that.

finally, the day passed. they read the notice bored, and the durmstrangs were cuming tonight.

that night, they waited outside. they looked at the lake, the first years bouncing on their toes, giggling and getting restless. shelby and alison seeemed to be hanging with hermione, admiring her. harry was startlerd when sumone yelled,

'LOOK! THE LAKE!!'

they all stood on the top of their toes, and harry saw at the lake a large whirpool, and a ship popped out, holding the durmstrang students. when the door opened, harry was eager to know who would be the new headmaster.  

Ron was talking to him, but harry hardly heard. one kid came out, but then was snapped at, and tugged at by a manly hand with bright green fingernails.

Then, a stubby foot poked out, wrapped by a bright green shoe to match her nails. then she was fully visible, in high-lighter yellow robes. she had on a funny hat, with things on the right side, making it tip over her one large eye. it was Rita Skeeter.

Harry groaned, and fell back. he looked over at a sour-looking hermione, who was clenching her fists.

'Dumnledore!' she crowed, walking out of this ship, her students following her. she had an accent like krums, and the suck-up tone like karkaroff.

'Why, Rita. Your now working as a headmistress?' dumbledroe said kindly, her eyes twinkling in the night. Rita smiled, and said, conjoring up a bright green wrap,
'vhy, dumbledore! vont u show me in?'

so they all trudged back inside, and began the feast.

Harry hadnt realized that viktor had come. he sat next to hermione, and engaged her into a conversation.

'u see, i am only here becoz i said i vanted to see you, i am really finished my schooling. how many years do u have left, hermy-own-ninny?' krum asked her, leaning over, and looking upset when he realized she hadnt heard a word he had said. hermione's eyes were boring into justins. he was staring back nervously, looknig jealously at krum.

it was finally christmas break, and they were loaded down with homework. hermione now looiked as though she were stoaking justin, but justin would just shake his head, looking dissapointed. krum was following hermione everywhere, and yesterday, just after lunch, harry and ron walkked in on hermione and krum in a class room together.

'viktor...i told you. i just -'

'but, hoo else vill i go vith?' he was saying impatiently.

'i don't know! u can go with anyone.' hermione said darkly, glaring at the wall behind krum.

'vot is that supposed to mean?' he asked, confused.

'i mean, everyone cums up to ME, asming for my autograph, or i get hate mail from your admirers!' hermione said uneasily, still staring at the wall.

'vell...vhy dont we pretend to break up? i vill go vith sumone else to this dance, and ppl vill know then, ve r not together.' viktor said, like it all made sense.

'why dont we...' she stopped with a weird loo kon her face.

'vhy dont ve...vhat?' he asked, tipping her chin up to face him. he was leaning closer to her.

harry heard ron growl in a deafeated sort of way, and he leaned against the wall, muttering sumthing that sounded like

'dont kisss! its hermione! no kissing!'

'well...i was just...nevermind. we'll pretend.' hermione smiled mischeivously, a sif sjhe had sum sort of plan.

krum tipped her chin towards him, leaned towards her, and tried to kiss her. but she had moved her head, and said,

'we should start pretending right away.'

bgut he kised her anyway, and she seeemed umcomfortable.
