Neo sighed. "I know...its just...I don't know...sometimes it seems like you don't...and its at those times I wonder why we haven't gotten married yet." Neo hesitated. "I want a family Lavy. I want a normal, peaceful life. I want to spend what little time I've got on this miserable rock called Earth with you by my side every step of the way."

"We could" Neo said, suddendly caught up with excitement, "we could live far away from here, leave the Empire in someone else's hands, settle down in a house by the shore, raise a few kids--" Neo stopped suddendly and looked away from her, suddendly mortified at how he had just acted, his face bright red.

Neo smiled weakly. He loved Lavy, but he was suddenly feeling very awkward sitting next to her. He tried to stand up but failed at the attempt and gave up and remained silent. "What would you think of that Lavy? Honestly. What would you feel about spending your life with me?" Neo asked her quietly.

"Kids?" Lavy thought about it for a long while. "Hmmm depends on who the guy is. I don't want to have babies with any ol' person off the street. He has to be special to me. Someone I can love no matter what and would make a great dad. Do you know anyone like that?" she asked pulling her legs up so the she could wrap her arms around them.

Lavy smiled and looked out over the dark waves. "When my parents were still alive my siblings and I would sit with them on the roof of our house with them and watch the sunset. Everytime the sun was just about to disappear over the horizon my dad would ask me what I saw. I would say a big yellow slash orange slash red ball that was going to the other side of the world for 12 hours. And every time I would give that answer he would laugh and say that my answer was very true. But then he would say that although my response was correct there where more complicated ones that I would learn as I got older." she paused. "What do you see when you watch the sun set?"

Neo was silent for a moment gathering his thoughts. "I see the same thing the ancient Egyptians saw when they watched the sun set. I see the death of the world, but death with the hope and knowledge that the world will be reborn in the light of the sun in but a few hours." He paused. "I also see something I love to watch and always wanted to be able to watch with the woman I love."

"We'll never be competly cut-off from the Empire, I'll constantly be worrying about it even though I don't want to, I may be extremely annoying sometimes, our children, while extremely powerful, will never be completly safe, and you know my other flaws as a person. But you also know that I would do anything for you and would always try and fix my problems, no matter how many times I fail at it."
