It may be from a Nordic language but I'm not sure.

The Nordic Peoples are also called the Norse. They occupy the entire northern region of Europe, such as Scandinavia, Iceland, Greenland, etc. I'm still not sure what the language it comes from is though.

Ok, I looked it up and I was way off. Same time period (around the Odin, Loki, Isis, Ra ages) but in a different country:

Gai·a [ g ə ] or Gae·a [ j ə ]

Earth seen as a person: in Greek mythology, the personification of the Earth
