Mira kept bouncing the ball but then lost control of it and it started to fly towards Al hitting his back. Of course energy balls are invisible and you can only see them if you know they're coming. Mira put her hands over her mouth in a gasp and then watching the first one disigrinate made another one.

Al was struck in the back by an unexpected attack.

His back arched forward slightly, but it threw him off balance enough to not fully dodge Albus's attack.

As the attack came, he made a pushing upward motion and air swept the arrows up.
As for the ice...
Al didn't have enough time to fully react.
He tried to create heat around him, but couldn't.
Instead, he flung his arms out: one to break his fall, and the other to help block the ice.

The ice hit his hand, freezing it all the way up to his elbow.
The remainder nipped at his face.

" What happened Al?" Albus said as he drew out the cold from his
arm. He lifted a helping hand towards him to help him get up.

Sarah stood up as she ran towards them.

"Al are you okay. I mean I should have kept praticing.

Mira gasped. "Ohmygosh!" She said fast. "A-are you allright?"

Al's frozen arm fell to the ground with a thud.

Thank god it wasn't rock... he thought.

He stood up with great difficulty, as his arm was frozen and of no use.

Not taking Albus's hand, as he didn't accept such help, he finally got up.
His face was red and slightly frozen.

It's okay... Don't worry, I'm fine... he said.

"H-here." Mira said not sure how Al would react. She snapped her fingers and a small flame appeared. It became slightly bigger and spread until it was no longer a flame. Just a glowing heat. Mira moved her arm in a fluid like motion and it wrapped around Al's arm melting the ice and then disappearing.
