Disturbing(open to all)

Lexi woke with a start. She was tangled in the covers and breathing hard. She had just had a dream. It was full of green flashes and screams. She hated them. She got them all the time but couldn't find the meaning. She got out noticing the time(1:13 am). She dressed knowing fully well breakfast wasn't ready yet. Lexi went out of the common room and out onto the grounds. It was quiet and you could only hear the rustling of leaves and the growl of Fang, Hagrids dog. She walked around, hands in pockets, trying to make sense of everything. This was the only way she could calm herself.

Tom had been awake since ten sitting on the windowsill of the slytherin boys room. He looked out at the grounds. He saw the giant squid, Fang the oaf, Hagrids dog, and something else. He had not seen it before but it seemed to be a person. Tom got off the windowsill and got dressed. He ran out onto the grounds to find Lexi the new girl. "Hello."he said hoping not to startle her.

Lexi had been looking at the moon when Tom approached. She jumped when he said hello. She didn't think anyone would be up at this hour. "Hello Tom."she said sounding nervous. Tom was a cute slytherin boy. He could sometimes be very rude but was sometimes actually sweet. She hoped she could get to know him.

Tom smiled and bowed. Tonight he was feeling polite. Of course he was in the precense of a pretty girl. How could he not be polite. "I'm sorry to bother you. I just happened to notice you as I was looking out the window. Would you like to walk with me?"he asked holding out his arm to her. He wanted to get to know Lexi. Maybe she would be a good assest.

Lexi was slightly shocked by his request but took his arm into hers. "Why not."she said bravely. They walked for a couple of minutes before they talked. "So Tom....why are you taking such a sudden interest in me?"she asked politely looking deep into his blue eyes.

Tom looked directly back into her eyes. He thought for a moment. Should he tell her the truth? "I've liked you for a while actually."he said knowing it was the truthfull answer. He took her hand and held it tight. " I wanted to get to know you to see if the feeling was the same in your eyes."he said sounding,for the first time, nervous.

Lexi squeezed his hand. She stood there for a moment knowing he was truthfull but still unsure. "I like you too."she said at last. She smiled at him,hoping that's all he wanted.

"That's all I wanted to know" he said giving her an equally large smile back. They started walking again and he knew his life had just changed quite a bit. :)

They walked and walked and walked. Finally Lexi looked at her clock to find it was 2:58 am. "I'll see you Tom. I have a charms exam tomorrow. See you at lunch?"she asked.

"Not lunch.I have a lunch detention. Potions more likely. But you do realize we'll have to keep this friendship secret? I know it doesn't matter but our two houses don't agree very well. And I'm sort of the center of all that."he said. Tom really liked her but they would have to keep this quiet.

Lexi's smile faded. "I know. I've been thinking that as well. Though I have a plan. When walked by in the halls before a class starts that's before break we could have a hand signal for places to meet in private. Then there's hogsmeade."she said.

[Voldyrocks01]

"Alright. A wave is the......forest. A nose scratch is....those bushes with berries. And if you stick out your tounge,"he laughed,"it means the room of requirement."he smiled. He liked this whole thing of secrecy already. "And if it's hogsmeade we meet at the shrieking shack which is a head nod."he said. "Well good bye."he said. He kissed her on the cheek and left to dream in his bed.

Lexi watched Tom as he went back to his common room. She slowly made her way up the steps memorizing the hand signals and writing them down. When she finally reached her bed she fell asleep once again dreaming of green flashes and screams but this time it was filled with floating images of Tom.

Jessie heard Lexi come back into the common room and fall asleep, immediately tossing and turning. Jessie sat in her bed reading.  She had the thick curtains around her bed closed, so you couldn't really see the light that she ws making with her wand.
