Leah sat back and said, *What do you mean?*

"You look a little down" Pete said looking at her.

*Well...I just feel bad that you can't even love anymore due to how many times you've been hurt.... it's just so sad...* Leah said,  truthfully even though that wasn't all that was on her mind.

"I never said I couldn't love I just said I can't say its love right now" Pete said.

Leah nodded and said, *It's still just so sad... I mean you must have given your heart to so many girls.... only to have it broken.*

Pete smiled "Not many" He said then lost his smile. "Just three" he said softly.

Leah nodded and said, *Then you must have gotten hurt really bad each time... And then you had so much courage to try it again...*

"They all thought I was a freak for being able to do magic and beng a vampire" Pete said. "I thought that at least one would understand...but I thought wrong" Pete said sadly as he looked through the tree branchs.

Leah nodded in sympathy and said, *But now you're wrong again.*

"What do you mean?" Pete asked her.

*There is one that understands.* She said, taking his hand in hers.  *We're the same.  Both vampires and wizards. I get it.*

Pete smiled and looked at her. "I'm happy you understand" he said looking into her eyes.

Leah smiled and looked away.  If he couldn't love, then what was the use in trying.

Pete looked away and took his hands back. *I knew it was to good to be true* he thought to himself.

Leah looked at Pete.  She loved him, but it was useless if he couldn't love back.  She wanted him to know that, but just wasn't sure how to tell him.
