If you have two buckets, one is a 3 gallon and one is a 5 gallon.  You also have a hose.  How do you make exactly 4 gallons if you don't have anything to measure with but the buckets?

Ok so here's one

there's a river that runs all the way around the world.  And you have a friend on the other side of the river.  This friend has medicine that you need in twenty minutes.  There are pirates that will take anything that crosses the river unless it's locked.  Also, you can't cross the river unless it's Saturday which was yesterday. You have a machine that makes boxes, gold locks, and gold keys.  Your friend has a machine that makes boxes, silver locks, and silver keys.  A silver key can only unlock a silver lock and a gold key can only unlock a gold lock.  How do you get the medicine?

You summon the last of your strength and threaten to torture those pirates in such macabre, that they will escape to a far away place. Then your friend sends the medicine in a box.
