No form of government will ever be perfect, will it?

Absolutely not. How can it be? The creators of government (i.e. humans) are not perfect, so their creations cannot be.
The only hope we have is that those in control of our government have our well being in mind.

As for the who I'm going to vote for, that is strictly personal. I will say, however, that all of the candidates (Obama, McCain, and Nader) are not fit for office of President. Not until they go beyond a specific Party's ideas and learn to accept a good idea as just that! Not as a bad one because it came form another political party.

We need to step beyond the idea of political parties. They are simply a way to narrow down candidates. Whom you vote for should depend on the person, NOT the party.

That said, I will say nothing else.

Oh, except to Stacey. Even when posting a lengthy post, you should use correct grammar and such. It makes people view your opinion as much more than childish thoughts.

XD I`m sick right now Ginny!

And you are right ((in my opinion)) that you should vote for the person not the party.

Let's see... Obama or McCain? What... is my opinion?

Well, I am for guns. I feel comfortable knowing that any being with ill will making himself known to me (and he will should he choose to break in) will be dealt with a solution that is long and hiding in my closet. (Hey, it's Texas.) I know what some people may think: "A teenager with a gun in his closet?" Don't go any further. I am responsible, sane, and can deal with emotional distresses. I believe that people would be less willing to rob others if they knew that they had guns. (Feel free to refute me. I heard the arguments. I stand by my opinion.)

But that is just one opinion that must be affiliated when making my decision between Obama and McCain. What about the troops? The oil prices? Yadda this? Yadda that?

Screw having an opinion.

My opinion means nothing, and it has as much worth as yours. (No offense) I'm passive. I know of both candidate's intentions, and it seems that anything they do will have a negative effect. I really don't want to judge ALL Democrats but a lot of them have been so d**n self-righteously arrogant. And lots of Republicans have been real liars. I think both parties are fine parties, but both suffer from extreme representations who choose to associate themselves with them. (God knows this is true with religion.)

But hell, I should only concentrate on them candidates, right? Well, like I said before. I don't have an opinion, and I don't want one. In my life, I just want to enjoy it. Caring about politics will only make me disgruntled about a situation I have no say in, will never have a say in, with the exception being my vote. But hey, they got tons of those.

I am not quite sure of the circumstances of this stance is, but I think that the smart people will hate me, the dumb people won't care, and the dumb people who think they understand the magnitude of politics will hate me too. I'm prepared for the speech about how politics preys on people like me. Bring it if you like. Won't change anything.

That's not to say I don't have anything to refute. I have read some wonderfully ridiculous text from Democrats and Republicans. (Which includes some wonderfully ridiculous posts in this thread.) But why don't I refute? Because nothing good can come from it. An argument will result, followed by heated feelings, then that's it. What did I gain? Let me rephrase: what did I gain that was worthwhile?

Anyway, that's my opinion. I am a bit curious about how people react to this so, I wouldn't mind some thoughts about my stance.

LavyBrown

I guess we just see things differently...in most ways.

Yeah I totally agree that politics can get people heated. But I kinda like that. It shows that we have a passion for something that controls our world. And just because I have to get this off my chest.... your vote will count. When they were fighting for woman to vote, one more guy voted in favor of woman when against....just an example for all those people out there who think one vote wont count (not referring to you specifically goblet)

I'm staying away from the gun subjust, you know my thoughts on it, I know yours. We're not going to change each others minds so lets just stop beating a dead horse.

Ummm...what else, oh, yeah. I kinda resent you saying that the smart people will hate you. I think if myself as a pretty smart person (and some people will disagree) but I think that my replies on this thread alone shows that I have some level of higher intelligences. And I don't hate you. I value your opinions, even if I don't agree with them. That, to me, is the mark of a true 'smart' person. Someone who can see the other side but not necessarly switch sides.

Wow we're kinds off the subjset of politics.......yeah I still want Obama.
