"You look a bit..." Jackie said, pausing for a moment trying to find the right words to describe the broken person she saw before her. "I don't know... different... in a bad way." She said finally after moments of thought.

Then she got down on her knees, so she could see his eyes. "You okay?" She asked tentativly.

Nate looked into her concerned eyes, and said softly," I was thinking more like sh*t but i guess that works to."

"And I suppose me asking you why would make it worse?" Jackie guessed, partly to herself. 'But that won't stop me...' She thought to herself.

She waited and settled herself onto the ground in a more comfortable position and inched a tiny bit closer. "So why do feel like sh*t?" She asked softly, her voice layered with obvious concern. SHe had always been the type of person to care about others, sometimes too much.

Nate looked at her as his eyes changed a like color,"Stacey broke up with me," he said softly deciding just to get over with it.

"Hm... that sucks..." Jackie said softly, looking at her fingers for a moment. Then she almost smiled, remembering what her father would sing to her when she became upset. The tune of it flooded her head and the first note escaped her lips, but she pursed them again knowing this was no time for singing songs. "You going to be ok? Oh, stupid question.. of course not..." She added.

"Hm... It doesn't look like it to me." SHe commented almost smirking, but her eyes remained sincere. "But why? Who would want to dump someone as awesome as you?" SHe asked, looking at him.

Nate put on a friendly smile,"Thanks for the comment..and i promise ill live, I got you as a friend." His eyes showed sadness as his lips showed a different thing.

Jackie's eyes stopped sparkling. "Yeah... Just friends..." She murmered to herself, looking at her thumbs again. She saw her reflection in his eyes when she looked up and noticed her eyes showed almost the same sadness as his did. She put on a weak smile. "Yeah, friends." She said slightly louder, but still undertoned by some form of sadness.

Nate looked at her seeing the sadness cloud in her eyes. He felt his heart leap a bit but then fell back down as he though about Stacey and how they ended up. He didnt want to go through that again. He stuttered,"I..uh..yeah. Hmm.." he said thinking,"I think that im feeling a little better."

Jackie heard him studder a bit and looked up at him, peerring through the hair that was covering her eyes now. She took his hands and looked at him, hearing thoughts some thoughts in his head. "I would never leave you." She said softly. "Unless you wanted me to." SHe ammended looking as if she were about to leave.
