" I grew up in a small town. If I didn't tell them, they would see it in the paper the next day" she laughed. She leaned in towards Aiden. "just between you and me, that boyfriend deserved the black eye that a fifteen year old gave him." she chuckled.

Aiden tilted his head to the side.
"Too bad. I grew in a small town, too." He told her.
Aiden sighed quietly, and looked down at Avalee.
And I'd have to agree with you about that." He pointed out with an amused grin.

"Actually, one time we went out to see fireworks, and me lit me on fire with a handheld sparkler, but he was too drunk to drive me to the ER." She remembered the burn of the fire, and the worse burn of his un-caring nature. Avalee leaned back on the bench. The warm summer evening was calm and peaceful, the stars, and the moon shone bright and true. She flipped her bangs out of her eyes. She gently grabbed the small pendant around her neck. It was a small quarter-moon, an eye, and a five pointed star to represent the elements. It was a present from her friends when she had to tell them the lie that "She was going away to live with her aunt" when really she was going Hogwarts.

Aiden frowned at what she said.
"That's not right. No one should be treated that way." He said, turning towards her.
Aiden looked at the small pendant she wore around her neck.
"That's a nice necklace." He noted.

She frowned at his frown, but quickly smiled again. She gave Aiden a closer look at her necklace. "My friends gave it to me. Sometimes when I see it I wonder if they really knew I was coming here. Its so.... Hogwarts." She laughed. She set the pendant back on her chest, and she set her hand back on her knee. She could here the buzzing from the lamp above her. She still felt hyper from the butterbeer.

Aiden slowly reached his hand forward and took the pendant, holding in his hand gently to look at it.
"I can understand that. Do they know you're at Hogwarts?" He asked, looking at the different stones.

"No, I'm living with my Aunt in the USA, Boston, in fact." She laughed. "How about you?" She smiled at him. She could see fireflies, a flock of them heading towards them.

Aiden looked at the pendant for a few moments, then put it down. He lifted his eyes to look at Avalee.
"They know I'm at Hogwarts. Well, at least most of them, some of my friends don't know where I'm at. We sort of lost touch, I guess." He explained.

"Its a whole different world here, isn't it?" Her teeth glistened in the moonlight as she smiled. As the fireflies flew past she reached out her hand. One landed right in her palm, she brought her hand closer to watch the peculiar insect. It glowed different colors, such a magical world. Even the bugs were amazing.

Aiden lifted his head around to glance at the small bugs. It was amazing how they lit the area around them, like small flashlights almost.
"Very. I like it much more, though. More things to do." He replied, flashing a brilliant grin.

"And more ways" She laughed. Her shoulder lightly touched his. She looked at Aiden. She flipped her bangs lightly out of her face. She held the bug in between them now, watching Aiden examine it.

"What else can you tell me about yourself?" He asked quietly, still smiling.

Avalee talked in a quiet voice now too. "Um, I don't know. I'm glad I came to Hogwarts, i was a little bit of an outcast in the muggle world. I'm glad I met you and Heather and Billie first, like as my first friends. that first day I was so worried that some weirdo freak was gonna come, and try and turn me into a death-eater or something." She smiled. Their faces were very close together now.

Aiden tilted his head to the side, and leaned forward some.
"Am I the first person you met here?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.
A slow breeze came by and caused his dark hair to fall over his eyes.

"Yes" Avalee stated simply, noticing the slight breeze. It was truly a lovely night out. The firefly flew away joining its flock but she didn't really notice.
