"Sure." Alice replied. Before he could change his mind she was right in front of him, her hands on his shoulders. She remembered her coat still at the dance place, but she didn`t care.

After a stomach-wrenching moment that felt as if the ground had split from under her and was sucking her down to hell, she landed in the common room, her hands still on his shoulders. Her eyes were on his, but nothing except interest showed through.
"Get out of my way! I'm a free spirit!"
FOREVER WILL NEVER BE LONG ENOUGH.
"And now I understand a phrase I once thought odd;
I guess to love another person is to see the face of God."

Sky

Seth smiled and walked to the fireplace, pointing his wand at the center and causing a fire to erupt immedietely in the pit. He then grabbed a Ravenclaw quilt from his bed and led her to the biggest couch, sitting down and laying the quilt over them.

Alice curled up under the blanket, not needing its warmth, but getting under it nonetheless. Seth wanted her to, and so she did. She rested her arm on side of the counch, staring into the flames.

"What were thinking about just then?" She asked, trusting him to know when she was talking about. She might look calm on the outside, but she was freaking out on the inside.
"Get out of my way! I'm a free spirit!"
FOREVER WILL NEVER BE LONG ENOUGH.
"And now I understand a phrase I once thought odd;

Seth shrugged, his eyes on her.

"I guess about what you wanted. What you needed."
About whether she would bite him or if she needed blood. He was calm inside for once.

Alice sighed softly and turned to face him.
"How can you sit there so calmly while talking about your death?" She asked. She wasn`t trying to make him mad, but she had to know. It wasn`t natural for him to be here with her.
"Get out of my way! I'm a free spirit!"

"While I am just some guy, I'm not like everyone else. I learn to accept things." Seth was staring at the fire now, its flame casting a yellowish glow upon their faces.

Alice continued to stare at Seth, and her hair wondered over to his ear. She traced the top of it with a chilly fingertip then moved it to the back of his neck. His skin was hot against hers, as it always was. The temperature difference never seemed to be a problem, but right now she wished more than ever that she was human.

With that thought, she leaned closer to him, turning his head with her palm, and kissed him softly.
"Get out of my way! I'm a free spirit!"
FOREVER WILL NEVER BE LONG ENOUGH.
"And now I understand a phrase I once thought odd;

Seth was surprised that Alice had kissed her, being that his blood was so...well, she had been thirsty for it. But he closed his eyes anyway, an automatic action. He kissed her back, just as softly as she had done, though he still was a little confused.

Alice grinned and pulled away.
"I`m sorry." She apologized. "I just... I just wanted that." She said softly, looking back at the fire. If she could have blushed, she knew she would have been.

Seth grinned too. "Would it be wrong to say that I'm glad you did?"

potter_fan122

Was it? She didn`t know how to answer. She had started it, and had liked it. So she couldn`t blame him.

"No." She finally said, tilting her head to the side. Her hand found his under the blanket. "I guess I needed to do that. I thought it`s make you feel better."

Seth looked away. Nothing was wrong with him. He was fine.  He didn't need a kiss to make him feel better anyhow.

Seth squeezed her hand and gave her a smile. "Yeah, it did." He lied.

The way he looked away before replying, the way his eyes had tightened, even his smell. He was lying, and Alice knew it. Her instincts and senses were screaming at her. It was so obvious when he lied, just like it was for every human.

Alice looked up at him and into his dark eyes. God, he couldn`t even look at her. Didn`t he know that it was pointless to lie to her?

"Seth, you don`t have to lie to make me feel better." She said softly, dropping her eyes to their entwined hands. "You know that I can tell, and it just makes me think that I`m not worth the truth." Okay, that wasn`t exactly true, but it did make her frustrated with him.

Seth sighed loudly and fell back against the couch, staring at the ceiling.

"Sorry." He said.  "You read me like a book."

He pulled her closer to him. "You are worth the truth."

Alice rested her head on his shoulder, his pulse thudding in her ear.

"I know, just... don`t lie to me, okay?" She asked quickly, trying to cover up her own lie.
