Four days had passed and Kiara still hadn't come back.  Draco bagan feeling less angry and increasingly, helpless.  Lucius had gone into town on a business trip so, Draco was alone.  He decided to send Harry an owl, explaining the current situation.

Harry had just finished reading the letter to Ron and Hermione.  Ron looked angry, "If anything happens to her --- "
Hermione looked verry worried.  "Remember what she said, about Draco keeping her who, she is, when around Voldamort?  I'm scared, Harry."  Harry nodded, "Me too, Hermione, me too."

It was the sixth night Kiara had been in the city and, Kiara had one last task to preform.  "This time, you'll do it my way.  You'll use your wand."  Voldamort told her.  Kiara bowed her head to him.  "As you wish, father."  she replied.  Two guards brought out a woman, she was a witch.  They pushed her to the ground at Kiara's feet.  The witch stood back up and stared, defiently, at Kaira.  "Go ahead, sorceress, do what you will.  In the end, you and your, monstrous, father will fall to the Ministry."  She spat on the ground.  Kiara smiled darkly and, lightly put her hand on the witches cheek, sliding it down, almost lovingly.  "You, I will enjoy torchering.  You can be assured it will be both, painful and, slow."  She whispered back.  "Crucoi"  she said, pointing her wand at the witch.  The woman screamed, Kiara smiled.  "You can feel the power draining from her, can't you.  Fells good, doesn't it."  Voldamort said, watching with a look of triumph on his evil face.  Kiara smiled.  "Yes, farther, she was a strong one, thank you."  Kiara stopped using the curse and the woman lay there, still concious.  "Now, use the killing curse."  Kiara nodded.  "Avada Kedavra!"  a green light shot from her wand and hit the witch in the chest, killing her instantly.  Voldamort smiled.  "Verry good, Kiara.  I think, your ready.  You will return, tonight."  Kiaea bent to one knee and bowed her head,  "Thank you, father."  She then got up.  Voldamort smiled darkly.  "You've no were to hide now, Harry.  Your time grows ever short, you will. die.  Come Kiara, I'll walk you to your mount."  He offerd her his arm.  She put her in it and together they walked through the city, as father and daughter.  They reached the opening and Kiara looked up then, kissed her fatherm gently on the cheek.  "Until next time."  Voldamort said.  "Yes, until thenm."  Kiara hopped on to Maestro's back and flew off.  Voldamort smiled evily.  "I told you, Kiara.  I tol;d you that you'd belong to me."  Then he turned and walked back inside the cave.

They landed in the stables.  Kiara dissmounted and thanked Maestro for the ride.  "You were quiet, this time Kiara.  What happend to you down there?"  He asked.  Kiara stroked his neck.  "Nothing, all is well.  Do not worry."  He bent his great head to her.  She kissed his beak.  "I've got to go up to the house now."  She took off towards the house.

Kiara walked in the drawing room and saw Draco, sitting on a chair, looking out the window.  She stood there, unable to move.  She tried, but couldn't.  Lucius walked in the room.  "Welcome back, Kiara."  Draco turned around and started going to her but, stopped.  This was not, the Kiara that left there six days ago.  Kiara turned to Lucius and nodded. "Hello, Lucius.  My father sends his thanks and wishes you to go to him, immedeatly."  Lucius thanked her then dissaperated.  Kiara turned slowly to Draco and looked at him questionaly.  Her expression was dark.  Draco went over to her and kissed her.  Kiara closed her eyes and collapsed.  Draco angrilly took her up and layed her on the couch.  He went and sat on the chair, he fell asleep waiting for her to awake.

Draco woke up several hours later.  He looked over and saw Kiara, curled up, crying.  He went over and knelt on the floor, she grabbed on to him.  He held her for a long time and let her cry herself out.  "It's ok, Kiara.  Your here, with me now.  It's ok.  Do you want to talk about it?"  she let him go and he sat on the couch, bringing her to him.  Kiara didn'
t say anything for a while, when she did speak, her voice sounded, distant.  "His power --- unbelivable.  The things he had me do to people.  I couldn't help it.  At first, I thought --- but I was alone."  she paused.  "Hundreds, maybe thousands, living underground.  He has vampires down there.  His power, he showed it to me.  I felt it, fully.  If we don't ---  He must be stopped soon or, there will be no stopping him."  Kiaea went quiet and didn't say anything for a long time.  Draco just continued to hold her.  She shudderd.  "What is it?"  Draco asked.  Kiara closed her eyes.  "I can still feel it, his power.  He let me feel it, made me want it, I still want it.  It's --- consuming.  I can't shake it off this time.  It scares me."
"Why does it scare you so much?  I don't understand."  Draco said, turning her face to his.  "It's controlling.  It makes me feel, different.  It's an evil power, Draco.  He gave me a taste and now,   I want, no need, more.  That's, what scares me."  Kiara sat up and looked Draco straight in the eyes.  "I'm not going to lie to you, Draco.  He has me, I can't fight anymore.  All he need do is ask and, I will do."  Draco paled slightly.  "I knew it!  Harry did too.  You should have backed out when you had the chance.  You -- "  He stopped.  Kiara closed her eyes again, smiled then, opend them to look at him again.  "I love you.  I couldn't have backed out, even if I wanted to.  Just promise me somthing, will you?  Promise me that when, and it will happen, when Voldamort gets hold of Harry, you wont let me kill him.  I'll never forgive you, if you do."  Draco studied her face, searching for some hint of hope there.  He found none.  "I promise."  He finally replied.  Kiara smiled.  "Thank you."

(Chapter 8.  Problems with Kiara)

Lucius returned later that night.  He informed Draco and Kiara that they would be returning to school the next day.  "Are you sure we should bring Kiara back, like this?"  Draco asked.  "It's my father wish for us to return, Draco.  So, we must go."  Kiara replied.  Draco closed his eyes and dropped his head.  "I'm sorry Kiara, your right.  I shouldn't question."  He replied saddly.  Lucius smiled.  "See draco, six days with her father and she comes back, the perfect child."  Draco smiled.  "Ya, your right, I guess, it's for the best."  He lied.

Draco took Kiara up to her room.  They walked out on the balcony and looked out over the garden.  "I know, do you want to go down to the garden?"  Draco asked.  Kiara smiled.  "No, they won't come to me now."  Draco looked at her curiously.  "Why?"  Kiara stared down at the garden.  The fairies were flying about, lighting it up.  "They can feel it too.  It scares them as much as it does me.  There's no sence in even trying."  She turned away from the view and looked, instead, at Draco.  She smiled a devilish smile at him.  draco grabbed her and started kissing her.  She bit his lip and made it bleed.  Draco stepped back, brought his hand to his lip then looked at it.  "So, you want to play it that way, do you,"  he said, in a dark, low tone.  Then, quicker than Kiara, he grabbed herhands, so she couldn't use her magic,.  He turned her around and slammed her against the wall.  Kiara winced.  Draco took out his wand and bound her hands.  "lets see you get outts this one."  He started kissing her again.  She bit him again so, he slammed her against the wall.  Kiara winced as her head hit the wall.  "Shall we try again."  draco said in a menacing tone.  Kiara glared at him.  This time however, she didn't bite.

The next morning, Kiara and Draco came down to breakfast.  Both were a little battered and bruised, but smiling.  Lucius raised his brow at the sight of them.  Kiara smiled at him.  "No worries, Lucius.  You son is, fortunately, far to nobel for anything like that to happen."  She giggled. Lucius looked relieved.

Kiara and Draco arrived at Hoggwarts just after lunch.  Ron, Harry and Hermione saw them enter the castle and came over.  Harry went to Kaira and hugged her.  Kiara hesitated but, hugged him back.  Harry knew somthing wasn't right.  He looked questionaly at Draco who, nodded.  "Welcome back."  Hermione smiled.   "What happend to your lip, Malfoy?"  Hermione asked.  Kiara giggled.  "I'll tell you later."  she said.  Draco looked at the two of them.  "Oh, great."  then, Kiara looked at Draco.  "I'm tired.  We should go"
"Uhm, ok.  See you around."  Harry said.  Draco and Kiara headed down to their common room.

"What's wrong with her?"  Ron ased as they headed to their tower.  Harry remained silent for a while before answering.  "She's not herself.  She's been changed, somehow and, I get the feeling, it's not in the best intrests to my continuing health.  We'll have to keep an eye on her."  Hermione looked at Harry.  "Are you sure?  Maybe she really is, just tired."  She knew that Harry was right though.  Hermione just wanted to believe that Kaira was invincible.  "No, Hermione, we have to face the truth.  Kiara is to be considerd, the enemy."  Harry said with anger, and he walked on ahead.  Ron and Hermione stopped, dead in their tracks and stared at Harry as he walked away.  Tears formed in Hermione's eyes.  "What ever would make him say somthing like that?" she gasped.  Ron was looking angry.  "I'm sure he felt somthing in her that we couldn't possibly, have read.  I don't care though.  I WILL NOT give up on her so easily."  Hermione turned and looked at Ron.  "Your a true friend Ron.  Just, be carefull because, if Harry's right ---"  She left it hanging and walked away.  "Don't worry Kiara, I'll help you, even if it means the death of me.  You'll not, be his pupett."  Ron vowed.  Then, he too continued on to the tower.

Kiara and Draco stepped into the common room.  Max and Pansy were sitting on the couch.  Pansy looked up and imedeatly stated crying.  "I don't know what happend, Kiara.  He was fine then, he just ---"  Kiara's eyes went wide.  "What's wrong with ---"  Then, she looked down and saw her snakes body laying on the floor.  He was dead.  Draco put his hand on Kiara's shoulder. She shrugged it off, walked over to her snake, picking him up, "Good bye, friend"  she said silently.  Then, the snake dissapeared in a cloud of black smoke.  Snape was standing behind the couch.  Kiara turnd to him "What happend."  She asked quietly.  "It would seem, he injested poisen.  Perhaps a rat he ate was into my stores?"  AKiara nodded then, turned to Pansy.  "It's not your fault.  There was nothing you could have done to prevent this.  Please, don't cry anymore."  Pansy imedeatly quit crying.  She gave Kiara a sad look.  "Thank you for not hating me."  Kiara smiled.  "Hate you?  If not for you I wouldn't have even had him."  Kiara turned then, to Draco.  "I'm going to bed so, if you'll excuse me..."  Dracp nodded and Kiara left.  Snape gave Draco a quizzical look.  Draco stared at him blankly then, turnd and left.Snape stood there for a moment then, relizing what Draco had meant by his look, he too left the room.  He knew and he had to let Dumbledore know, as well.  Pansy kissed Max and left up stairs, Max sat back on the couch and smiled to himself, "One down, one to go."  He said silently to himself, a darkness crossiong over his handsom face.

It was after dinner, once again, Kiara stood before Cornilius Fudge, The Minister of Magic, in Professor Dumbledore's office.  Professor Snape and Draco, were also present.  "He has hundreds of followers, the vampires have joined his minions as well."  Kiara reported.  "Do you know were this, city, is, Kiara?"  asked Mr. Fudge/  Kiara shook her head.  "I told you, we flew over the clouds.  All I know, is that the entrence is in a wooded area about, thirty minutes flight from the Malfoy Mannor."  She paused.  "The direction I'm not sure of."  she lied.  She knew they flew Westward, she also knew, she could probably, pin point the exact location but, she just couldn't make herse;f disclose any more infirmation.  She had given them enough.  They'd findit, sooner or later.  "Are you sure?"  Fudge asked again.  Kiara glared at him.  "I've told you all I know.  Please. stop annoying me with your repeated questions."  Kiara retorted to his question.  "Now, Kiara, Mr. Fudge is just trying to make sure he's got it all straight.  That wasn't nice."  Kiara didn't say anything.  "Well, I think I should go get the Aurors started on this right away."  Fudge said.  He nodded to Dumbledore and left.  Dumbledore looked at Snape and Draco.  "If you two will excuse us, I need to speek with ---"  He paused at looked at Kiara.  "Kiara, alone."  they left hte room.

"What do you want of me?"  Kiara asked, still standing.  "Have a seat."  Dumbledore motiond to a chair.  Kiara's expresion changed.  She looked, bored.  "No thanks, if it's all the same to you, I'll remain standing."  she replied.Dumbledore raised his brow.  "Suit yourself."  Kiara stood there, hands folded behind her back, waiting.  "Well, I guess it's true, what I feard the most has happend."  Dumbledore started, Kiara interupted.  "If you meen I have finally become, my fathers daughter, your right.  Don't look so sad.  It's not as bad as I thought.  It sure beats the heck outta being scared all the time and, the power, is kinda nice."  Kiara's expresion turned dark.  Dumbledore watched her.  Neither said anything for a long time.  They just watched each other.  (There's nothing you can do for her now.)  The fate told him.  Can't you do somthing?  he thought back.  (No, I no longer control that one.  She belongs to my, other half, now.)  Dumvledore sighed.  "Well, Kiara, I guess there's no point in trying to bring you back to us.  I'll be watching you."  Kiara smiled an evil smile at her godfather.  "Of course you will.  Can't have the one person who could kill, my dear brother, running around, unchecked, now can you."  She said.  "You can leave now."  Dumvledore said quietly.  Kiara turnd and started walking out but paused.  She didn't turn around, she kept her back to Dumbledore.  "This, is, mostly, your fault, you know."  Then she laeft.  Dumbledore sat back in his chair.  "I know Kiara and, I'm sorry."  he said quietly after her.

Kiara Johnson

Kiara walked into the common room.  Draco was sitting on a chair and Max, was sitting on the couch.  Kiara went and sat next to Max.  Draco watched her, he knew she was up to somthing.  Kiara bent in close to Max and held his eyes whith her own.  "My father sends his greetings and, says I should keep an eye on you.  For some reason, he doesn't trust you."  Their faces were very close, a flash of jelousy crossed Draco's face but, he said nothing nor, did anything, he waited.  Kiara held Max in her stare.  She noticed no change in expresion but, senced his excitment at being so close to her.  Pansy came down, she looked at Draco who, motioned her quiet.  "You want me, don't you."  Kiara whisperd, allowing her lips to tuch his as she did so.  Max just smiled a dark smile but, said nothing.  Kiara kissed him lightly then, patted him on the head.  "i'll be watching you.  Don'r screw up.  If you so much as irritate me, you'll wish you were dead."  She paused  "That's not a threat, it's fact."  Kiara stood up and went to Draco.

There was still three days left before Classes started up again.  Harry was just coming in from Quidditch practice.  He saw Kaira standing in the hall, talking with another slytherin girl.  He continued on, with out even agknowledging her presence.  Kiar awalked up behind him  "What, no, hello for your sister, Harry.  Awfully rude of you."  Harry stopped.  "Hi Kiara.  He said, turning to face her.  Kaira grinned darkly at him  "You'd do good, not to be so rude to me.  Might benifit you in the futer."  She snarled.  "Oh, is that a threat, Kiara.  Very unbecoming of you."  Harry replied  Kiara stepped closer and layed her right hand on his chest gently.  She smiled then, an evil dark look crossed her face.  She closed her fist tightly.  Harry felt a shooting pain in his chest, it was suddenly, verry hard to breath.  Kiara's expresion went from dark and evil to that of total terror.  She removed her hand quickly and turned and ran off.  Harry slumped against the wall, catching his breath.  Ron came by and saw Harry.  "What's wrong.  What happend?"  harry related.  "Your kidding.  You meen she --"  Harry stopped him.  "The thing is, she stopped.  She looked really frightend.  He doesn't totaly control her, yet but, she's still, the enemy."  Ron helped Harry back to the tower.

Kiara Johnson

Kiara ran into the common room.  "Were's Draco!"  she yelled.  Max turned and looked at her.  "I have no idea.  Maybe, I can help you."  Kiara spun around.  "NO!  you'll stay away from me!"  Kaira went back out.  Draco came down from the dorm.  "Didn't I just here Kaira?"  He asked Max.  "No, you must be hearing things, old boy."  Draco amiled, "Maybe your right."  He replied lightly.

Ron had gone back down stairs to find Kiara when, he ran into her.  "OW!  Watch were __"  he relized who he had run into.  "Sorry."  Kiara said.  "Are you ok?"  asked Ron.  Kiara looked paniked.  "I can't find Draco, any were."  Kiara started to take off again but, Ron grabbed her.  "Let go of me!" she yelled.  "No, what's wrong.  Why did you try to kill Harry?"  Ron looked angry.  Kiara's expersion chande now to angry.  "Let me go!"
"Not until youtell me what's going on."  Ron replied between gritted teeth.  "Let me go Ronald Weasley."  she replied dangerously.  "Your not leaving here until your pretty little self, tells me why."  Ron said sternly.  Kiara slapped him.  He slapped her back.  "Jerk!"  Ron grabbed her free hand as well and backed her into a corner, he waited.  After quite a bit of cursing and struggling, Kiara finally started to cry.  "That's what I thought."  ron said.  He released her arms and hugged her.  She hesitated first but, then clung to him cryong.  "I didn't, I couldn't stop myself.  When I get close to Harry I, all I want to do is kill him.  Don't let me do it Ron."  Kiara cried for quite some time and Ron held her until she cried herself out.  He lifted her chin so she was facing him.  "You should get back to, Draco, now.  He'll be worried about you  Don't worry Kiara.  I don't think your capsble of killing Harry."  Kaira nodded.  "But I hurt him, Ron, I really hurt him."  she started to cry again.  Ron put his hands on her cheeks anf wiped away her tears.  "Like you always say, Kiara.  What doesn't kill you can only make you stronger, right?"  He smiled, Kiara smiled back.  "Thank you Ron I ---"  Ron put his finger to her lips.  "I wont give up on you Kaira."  He kissed her forhead.  "Now, go."  She turned away and headed back to the common room.

Kiara Johnson

Kiara walked in, her eyes were red from crying.  Draco got quickly up and went to her.  "What's wrong?"  He asked.  Kiara glanced over at Max, who sat there watching them.  "ok, I'll leave."  He got up and went up stairs.  Kiara sat down.  "I -- I almost Killed Harry.  I ---"  she took a deep breath and told him about it.  "It's ok Kiara, Harry's fine and you were able to stop yourself.  Just try to stay away from him, from now on."  Draco told her.  "Your right, maybe if I just  ---"  Draco kissed her.  Kiara kissed him back.  "I think, I'll be ok now."  she told him.  "That was easy." Draco  replied.  Kiara hadn't told him about her talk with Ron.  "I --- was just frightend, that's all."  She kissed himn again.  "I think, I'll go upstairs for a nap.  I'll see you later."  Kiara got up and went to the dorm.

Kiara lay on her bed, staring at the celing.  She couldn't seem to get her emotions back in check.  She layd there wondering why, Ron could calm her so easily and Draco only made her more aggressive and angry.  (Well, if you'd just quit fighting me.  It would be much easier.")  the dark fate told her.  "I won't"  she said out loud.  (Regardless, you will do what's needed, when the time is right.  I'll make sure of it.)  "No, i won't.  You can't make me kill Harry."  (I almost, made you kill him today.  I only allowed you to stop because it isn't time yet.)   "I won't do it"  She said louder, this time.  All she heard in return was a terrifying laugh that made her blood freez and made her shudder.

(Chapter 9   Holding On)

"Well, I'm going.  Stay if you want.  My father asked me if I would come and, I've decided."  Kiara and Draco were arguing.  Voldamort had asked Kiara to come, home, for the Christmas Holliday.  He didn't order it, she did have the choice.  Draco, of course, wabnted her to stay.  "No, you should stay here, were it's safe."  Draco said in an angry tone.  "Look, you can stay, I'm sure I can manage, with out you.  You weren't there for me last time, anyway."  Kiara said visiously.  She knew Draco had no choice but, she also knew that those words would hurt him and, right now, that's, what she was going for.  "That's not fair, Kiara.  You know I didn't have the choice to go with you last time.  You also know, that I wanted to be there for you."  Draco replied quietly.  Kiara turned and glared at him.  "I'm going!"  she yelled.  "And you can't stop me!"  Draco smiled a dark amile, "Your right, Kiara, I can't stop you but, Dumbledore can."  Kiara sneerd at him.  "You wouldn't"  Draco dodn't drop his dark smile.  "Try me."  he growled.  They stood there in the girls dorm, staring at each othe.  "Fine!"  Kiara said, angrily.  Draco didn't say a word.  Kiara continued to glare at him.  She knew, he would do it and, she also knew that, Dimbledore would never allow her to go, if it wasn't nessesary.  "I hate you."  then, to punctuate her words, Kiara did the one thing, Draco would never have thought she would do.  She flicked her hand and Draco went flying accross the room, slamming into the wall.  He sat there for a bit.  Kiara was still garing at him, dangerously.  he winced at the pain in his head as he stood up.  then, giving Kiara one last angy glance, he walked out.
