Title: Mira is grounded
Post by: dobby888 on December 14, 2008, 11:53:32 AM
Hello all! I am here to report the sad news that Lola_La_Fringe7/Mira/Jackie is grounded.  She will probably be grounded for quite some time, and I am not sure when she will be set free.

Her mother saw a thread in which Jackie and Nate become "close" (*cough*).  Then her dad saw too, doubling the damage.  Seeing as this is a federal crime in all fifty states, she's gone for a long time.  She misses you all, and hopes that you can find it in your hearts to be patient and forgive her.

I will send any word or idea of when she will be set free.

NO!!!!!!!!!!!! I knew it! The full moon did this! Tell Jackie to think up of some ideas for explanations, and ask if her computer has a password. If not, put one on, and hope for the computers at school have it un-blocked. Wish Jackie well!

Ya just can't let people see what you do, even if you won't get grounded. That's when you get a private account on your computer or you clear your history and files after each session.

But still, it's just an RP forum romance. It is not a big deal.

"MIRA! DID YOU JUST TYPE IN THAT YOU KISSED ANOTHER BOY OVER THE INTERNET!? YOU'RE GROUNDED! WE DON'T WANT YOU TO BECOME INTERNET PREGNANT BECAUSE YOU'RE TOO YOUNG TO BECOME AN INTERNET MOTHER AND I'M TOO YOUNG TO BE AN INTERNET GRANDPA!"

*Snickers* While Goblet DOES have a point, her parents do have every right to see what she is doing online.

I know if my child was online, I'd want to look at what they were posting. Of course, I'd be much more lenient in what I allowed, but that's a moot point.

Well, I hope she's allowed back on at one point.

Which reminds me, sometimes you guys have the be careful and remember that this website needs to be kept as close to PG-13 as possible. It's hard, I know. Haha. At least use big words that most younger kids wouldn't know.

I agree with Ginny. My parents will let me role-play as long as it is age apporiant. I don't wanna lose this.

When it comes to others, whatever. When it comes to me, screw rights. My business is my own and I successfully kept it that way for many years.

What would be the PG-13 limit anyway?

A good limit would be (as far as sex is concerned) kissing...holding...um, use innuendos, but keep it clean. Ya know?
Like, you can IMPLY something, but you can't describe it.

Ah.  Wow, that sucks.  Sorry Mira. =[
Hope you're not grounded for too long.  -_-

That will create better scenarios!

Goblet: Hey baby. Let's totally do it and use sexy details during our encounter.
Student chick: We can't, Goblet! It's against the rules! How will society view us?
Goblet: It will be a forbidden love they will have to accept, like those vampires in that Moonlight series.
Student chick: Twilight.
Goblet: Whatever.

very funny Goblet! I totally think Ginny is right. There are younger kids who shouldn't be knowing about that stuff. I've read fanfics that were 12yrs and they had those disgusting descriptions, since I know what they are even though I'm 13, I read 15+ fanfics. I don't want younger kids to know that and then do it. Not saying that they are stupid but they might. Sex is a bad thing to do. when parents describe it they call it making babies not Sex. You won't learn it till you have Sex Ed.

WHOA! I never said sex was a BAD thing!
I'm just saying that admin has asked us to keep the forum relativly PG13, and so we can at least attempt to do so!
Sex is not BAD.
Whoever told you that is RETARDED.

DON'T CALL MY PARENTS RETARDED!!!!!!!! If you say that you all are gonna suffer! By me not coming back for a month or so! ("Thats gonna be hard.") Okay, joking about the moth maybe a day or week, but not month. NEVER EVER CALL MY PARENTS RETARDED!

I just did, kiddo.
Seeing as they are feeding their daughter idiotic thoughts, I would classify them as retarded.
Sex is not bad.
Having sex with bad people is bad.
There's a diffrence.

No need for name calling. What did Mira post anyway????
Title: Re: Mira is grounded
Post by: Ginny Weasly on December 15, 2008, 07:28:14 PM
That is irrelevant. The fact of the matter is, she posted something she knew her parents would disapprove of and they saw it. It doesn't even have to be all that specific, they just had to feel uncomfortable.

I know my parents often glance over at what I'm doing. They have ever since I started using the internet, and I'm 18 now. It doesn't bother me, mostly because as long as I showed them, they didn't really care. Plus, I kept things I didn't want them to see for after they went to bed, haha.

Two grounded Harry Potter Fans now....

Haha. I snuck on for awhile today. :D

I always clear my history though since I log onto Myspace.

I would hate for my parents to see ANY of my postings. I think what I type is my business, even though they provide the internet for me, I think I still deserve some privacy rights.

Oh, and if your school has a blocking program, you may want to look into proxies.
One that I found isn't blocked by most filters yet is https.//www.peachfloss.com
You NEED to have HTTPS. Not HTTP.
There is a difference.

Your parents are not retarded over the fact that you exist. They just don't want you to ruin your future by getting pregnant, so they'll tell you that sex is bad so that you will abstain from it all together.

Ways sex are good: relieves stress, strengthens relationships, feels good, and it kinda ensures the survival on the human race.

Ways sex are bad: it is done compulsively with multiple partners with zero responsibility, is forced, is done out of revenge, and so forth.

I don't really know why, but I can't let my parents see any creative work I've done. I don't let them see drawings, let them hear me play music, or see what I write. I don't even sing in front of them. (I can't sing anyway XP) I've always felt embarrassed by it for some reason.

Not me! Everyone in my family is extraordiarily creative.
All six of us are awesome artists (my sister most of all) all of us can sing well, at least all of us girls can write fantastically, not to mention our talents in leading small children to the park and catching them on fire.
...
.....
......
That last was a joke.
C'mon people. Jeeze.

As far as the whole sex thing, the problem with today's schools is that they teach abstinence-only sex ed. This means all they say is "Sex is bad, don't do it! You'll go to hell!"
What we really need are some comprehensive sex ed programs. Ones that tell us the facts. Programs that explain that abstinence is the BEST way to be protected against unwanted pregnancy as well as STIs.
But they also explain that if you are still going to have sex (honestly, a large amount of people stay abstinent until their twenties) then you need protection! These are the kind of programs we need.

Make that three. =p

I wouldn't say sex is bad.  Or sex before marriage.
However, be cautious and mature about it.  If not, it could cause some real problems.
Although, this is only my opinion.

Not that we aren't having a lovely time getting off topic, but I have more word on Mira's release date.  She has now also been banned from the phone, which is a bad sign.  I talked to her mom, however, and she said that all Mira has to do is say sorry, and be nice to her and then the sentence will be shortened.  I will try to send word to Mira, but it may still be a while.

Okay! This topic got a litle off-the-pont since I last looked at it. But here`s my opinion on someof the things said:

I agree with Ginny on the sex-ed thing. My school doesn`t even have sex-ed. Last year we just went over a few things in health and this year we`re doing genetics, dotdotdot genetics.

I`m so glad Mira/Jackie will be ale to get on sometime sooner than later.

OK! More word from Mira!  She is grounded from everything electronic except for the radio, phone, and Nintendo DS.  She got the phone back today, and her mom allowed her to talk to me online for a few minutes.  I think she might be free by New Years!

I was talking to Mira, and her parents found out that she was sneaking on, and so she won't be let on for 2 months.  I know that as soon as the day comes, she'll rush to the computer, and get back into everything she had missed.

Thought you'd like to know!
