Niles was doing the thing he does all the time, sitting by himself in a corner, always thinking of one thing, Dieing, it would feel good, Niles was seriously considering suicide.
Stacey sat not three feet away from Niles, but on the other side of the wall. She knew he was there, she could hear and feel him. She could feel that invisable wall in her mind pounding with his power. But she didn`t move. She was slightly upset with him still. Her eyes were vibrant purple, for she was both wanting to go to himand to stay away.
She was in her school uniform, short scarlet shirt, white top with black jacket, and black shoes. She was clutching a bottle a butter beer to her chest, afraid of what Niles might think next.
Niles can smell her, they always had this connection, Niles missed the good old days, the adventures they had. How he missed it, how he missed her. "Hey Stacey" Niles said without looking at her he didn't know what to do next
Stacey`s ears twitched as she felt Niles talk to her. Her mind was filled with what he was remembering. "Hey." She replied softly through the wall. She thought about the Yule Ball; the night they shared their only kiss and told each other they loved the other.
Niles walked towards her seat and hugged her without saying anything

Stacey hugged Niles back, not able to think of anything to say. Her eyes were dark grey now. "I`ve changed, Niles." She whsipered into his ear.
"fill me in" Niles said he didnt want to let go of her, its like, even if he wanted to he couldnt
Stacey took a shaky breath. "I`m not innocent anymore. I`ve killed people. I`ve gotten more mature. I know things other people think are immpossible. I have powers that make me different from anyone else in thw world." She remembered that Niles didn`t even know of her main power yet.
"sounds like me when I was seventeen " Niles said laughing he let go and took a seat.
Stacey shook her head. "You were a Death Eater, you were trained to kill people. It`s different for me."
"ya, I guess your right, and why are you killing people?"
Stacey smiled. "Because they tried to kill me first then they underestimated me."
"ha, thats the Stacey I know" Niles smiled again
Stacey`s eyes lightened slightly. "Yea, well, I don`t like it when people underestimate me." She said with a grin.
"good, well, tell about these powers" Niles said, he was suddenly very happy, Stacey always made him smile
"Well, I can use fire." Stacey started, "I can absorb other people`s powers too. The closer I am and the more I`m around them the more I can use the power." She didn`t mention that she heard voices and had a headach most of the time, or that she had almost become over-taken my a spirit twice now.
"thats awesome, I learned to expand my powers, I learned to destroy 12 death eaters at one time" Niles was hunted by the memories
Stacey nodded and absent-mindedly her hand fell to her waist. The hold of the daggers there reassured sub-consciously of something she didn`t even notice.
"something wrong" Niles said curiously
Stacey snapped back and shook her head. "What, no." She answered too quickly.
Bucky walked into the empty classroom 'O lovers" Said Bucky handing a knife to Niles "You said you wanted this" Said Bucky "Why?" He asked.
Niles took the knife from Bucky's grasp "No reason" Niles said convincingly
Niles looked back at Stacey "I know you, and I know there's something wrong" Niles smirked
Stacey stuck out her tongue and eyed the knife. "What`s that for?" She asked.
Niles looked away "for my needs"
Isabelle skipped into the room and said "You needed something?"
"Ya umm, we cant talk here though"
"Okay then." says Isabelle and she waited for their conversation to be done.
Stacey gently and expertly pried the knife from Niles`s hands, and without looking at them, spoke to Bucky and Isabelle. "Would you two give us a few moment?" She asked sweetly, giving Niles a hard look.
"Of course Stacey. Come on Bucky, let's give them some privacy." says Isabelle taking Bucky's arm in hers and she dragged him out of the room.
Stacey waited until Isabelle and Bucky were out of the room, then she sighed. "Niles, I know you, Now, what were you going to do with this knife? You know plently of spells to not have to have this." She flipped the knife into the air, catching the blade easily between her fingers.
Niles also sighed almost mockingly, "it looks pretty and reminds me of butterfly's" he smiled and gave her a jocking look.
Stacey raised an eyebrow, her expression perfectly serious. "Niles, please tell me. You wanted me to listen, so I`m listening."
"there once was a God named dream. His older sister was named death. She had a problem, you can not die if you dont believe in death, and there was a mortal that didnt age or anything, because of that rule. She asked dream to go and ask why he doesnt want to die. The man said, well there's lots of things to do still. Dream told the man how great heaven was and he had a spot. The man didnt believe the god at all, so dream showed the man in his dreams, later that day the man stabbed himself with a dagger"
Stacey eyes softened, keeping her gaze of Niles. "Niles, you can`t do that." She pleaded. "and don`t you dare say you have to, because you don`t." She sighed. "Just because you don`t get what you think you wanted, doesn`t mean that you have to do something like that." She slid the sharp dagger down into and empty hidden sheath that had recently occupied another knife.
"You can`t. I was thirteen when you told me you loved me. How was I supposed to respond?" Tears welled up in her eyes, but she refused to let them fall. Somethings about her had changed sincce Niles had left, but her emmotions hadn`t.
Niles gave Stacey a hugg, and let go "I wouldnt do such a thing, and do cry please" he held her chin up "please smile"
Stacey jerked her chin away, still stubborn as alway. "Quit trying to avoid answering me. You can`t just hover around a topic that is unavoidable." She crossed her arms defiantly.
"and you cant interfere with someone Else's business, besides I didn't let voldy and greyback kill me, why would I let myself" Niles gave her a reassuring smile
Stacey pursed her lips. "For some reason I`m not convinced." She argued softly.
Niles threw the knife in the air and it vanished "Now its not a problem"
Stacey stared at the floor, keeping her lips pursed. This was one of the things that irritated Stacey more than anything about Niles. He would get to doing something dangerous, then just blow it off like it was nothing.
It was one of the reasons that she knew she didn`t belong with Niles. It wouldn`t have worked. She would have found a way to kill him.
The knife reappeared in his robe "So Stacey we have lots to talk about, we should meet up at the broomsticks tonight" Niles didnt exspect her to show up, and he wasnt going to be there anyways
Stacey rolled her eyes at the floor before looking back up to him. He was still taller than her, still about six inches, just like always.
"Niles, you`re not going to be there. You can`t lie to me, I`ll know. You don`t know half of my new powers, so don`t test them."
Niles laughed "Im not scared of your new powers Stacey, because they dont make some one strong, its whats in your head and your heart."
Stacey snarled. "I`ve used these powers before and I know how to use them. They are in my head, if you could only hear what I do." She glowled, looking around with red-tinged eyes.
Niles was bold "Just because im old fashion doesnt mean anything"
Stacey growled. "I think you would be an easy opponet." She smiled. "I`ve stopped you from attacking me before with no powers at all." She smirked.
Niles smirked, "still hard headed" Niles stood closer to her "Ill have you for breakfast"
Stacey snarled again, but smiled, too. Her teeth were sharp and pointed. They glistened in the limited light coming through the grimy windows. "You have no idea what you would be in for, my friend." She hissed, her hands naturally curling into talons.
"awwww kitty kitty, dont get to mad Stacey you know how your tummy gets' Niles said, practically about to burst out laughing.
Stacey hissed, her eyes swirling the deepest shade of red. "You dare to insult me?" She warned. Fire exploded all around them. It licked the wooden walls, the floor, the tables, everything. But it didn`t burn. "I can control it so easily, you know. Just a stray thought and you would be withering in flames." She said taughtingly.
She was dangerous. Niles couldn`t understand that, he had been gone too long. He hadn`t seen her murder people, things. He hadn`t seen her suffer through her many hardships. He hadn`t seen her falling into tourture. He couldn`t know what it was like for her, he was much too self-centered. Even now he laughed at Stacey. Stacey-- the free bird that would turn into a firery phoenix at any time.
"You dare to bring me down after what you put me through." She slowly began circling Niles, slightly leaned forward in a postion ready to spring. Her teeth gleamed with poison, the fire crackled behind her. "I could so easily kill you. You who stand before me, smiling as if it were a game."
Niles smiled, he walked around, putting his hand in the fire, moving in a circle as she was. "I know your strong baby, but you dont know what Ive done, what ive learned" His hand was still in the fire, as though it was refreshing. "Ring a round the rosy, pocket full of possy, ashes, ashes we all fall down" Niles quickly moved his hand down and as he did the fire loward. "I dont want to hurt you and I know you dont want to hurt me, exspecialy in this game of chicken" Niles walked towards he and held out his hand "Make the next move" he said silently
Stacey watched him carefully, her bright orange eyes blistering. She only sneered when he held out his hand and she flicked a smoldering coal into his hand. "My move is already made. You`re the one that`s a step behind." She growled.
Niles held the coal, he was getting out of hand. "you dont want to hurt me, and if I was a step behind, then were are you?"
"A step ahead." Stacey hissed. The magic itched to be let out, her fingertips tingled with it. It would be so easy to kill him. It wouldn`t take much effort at all.
"If you insist" Red swirled into Niles eyes "sometimes you have to set people straight, because there to thingyy" Niles's robe opened up and all there could be seen is darkness, it was like a robe full of shadows.
Stacey fell back, her back arched and she crouched down. One hand touched the floor lightly and the other curled like a talon to her side. She bared her teeth-- they were pointing and glistening with poison. "Try me." She hissed, her eyes flashing red.
Niles laughed "no, you try me" suddenly his robe covered everything, everthing was dark. All you can see is Niles in the middle of nothing, wearing a grey Hoodie, and blue jeans, he looked about fourteen. Three boys walk towards him, and start beating him up, Niles takes out a knife and slits one of there necks. The scene changes again. Now its him and an aura, green flashes light up the scene. Niles telephotos behind the good wizard and he kills him. Now, the scene changes again, in the middle there is a heart. Another Stacey walks up to the heart and stabs it repeatingly. Now its Niles as he was before.
Stacey laughed loudly and wickedly from her position near the floor. "Do you honestly think that that can scare me?" She hissed. "I`ve seen things I bet even you can`t only imagine." She said histerically.
Niles robe opened again, now there were multiple Niles around her. "No its no supposed to scare you, its supposed to kill you. Theres no escaping my grasp now", all the Niles shot green lights at Stacey and most of them go threw her, exsept one witch was right in front of her head, sitting there. "your in my world baby, and you cant do sh*t"
Stacey laughed histerically again and straightened her figure. She snaped her fingers and a thick, clear blue shield covered her completely. "No. You`re in my world. A world that can easily become a nightmare." Niles had no idea. He had old magic. Ginny had taught her new magic, and she had learned from her father well.
She could read his mind. Everything he did was countered a split second by Stacey, who was exceptionally powerfull here, in the middle of town, surrounded by hundreds of powerful wizards. She could even use Niles`s powers against him.
"then kill me, if your so good, yuo may have new magic, but my legendary magic will destroy you" Niles let shadows come out of his robe, thousands of them "Stacey, you cant beat me, Im way more advanced, but your just hard headed" Niles let the shadows back to his robe. He walked up to Stacey, bent down and showed his neck "Killl me then"
Stacey didn`t flinch. She didn`t even blink. She wasn`t scared as she was indestrucatble right now. She would pay for it later, but it would be worth it. "But if I kill you, you won`t have time to worship at my feet." She growled.
This was not the normal Stacey. This Stacey was dangerous and wouldn`t hesistate to kill. In fact, she was strngly leaning towards killing Niles. It wouldn`t be hard and it would one less thing to worry about.
"Kill me Stacey, try, it would be interesting" Niles will still leaning, he knows what he's doing, he's always a step a head.
Stacey smiled wickedly then flung her arms out towards him. Immediatly she fell to the ground as great blades appeared out of no where. They appeared from all directions and their edges shone in the dim light.
((im suprised)) Niles stood up, and extended his hand, "we dont have to fight"

Stacey stood carefully. "Why? You`re the one that told me to kill you. You underestimate me."
Niles smiled "just testing you, and apperently you underetimated me too" Niles looked at the ground " I want to be your friend Stacey, and I know your Fiance is mad at me, but, I just get mad alot"
Stacey put her hands on her hips and wrinkled her nose. "Oh, so this is all my fault. You aren`t the one that wouldn`t stop making me angry, even when you could have just walked away?" Her tone was accusing and her eyes were violent. She had been ready to kill him. And if he thought that she was off her guard now, he was mistaken.
"I cant walk away untill my point is across, and why fight for such a little reason?" Niles pointed his hand towards to the ground and a stool appeared, he sat down.
Stacey flicked her wrist and all of the flames around them disappeared. Her eyes still shone bright orange, though, a sure sign that fire was ready at her fingertips. "Your point has been made. You`re the one who can`t back away." She said, crossing her arms again.
Niles smiled this time not evily "No I cant, I amit to my faults, I would like to be your friend, please"
Stacey snorted, arms still crossed. "You haven`t changed one bit. You`re still trying to lie your way onto the side you don`t want to be on." She growled.
"I have changed in some ways," She stated before he could. "I`m still a stubborn little witch that likes to play with danger. I`m still curious and silly. But I also learned how to play with dangerous things. Play dangerous games. What you did jump started that."
Niles stood up "Then maybe your experienced enough to go on one of my little journeys. Now dont get mad its just an offer. You wouldnt be able to handle it back then."

Stacey`s eyes glowered red. "You know, mabey it`s a good thing you left, because if I had to put up with you all of this time, you would b dead right now." She hated being underestimated, it was one thing she just couldn`t stand.
"If you want your peace, leave now while you still have legs."
Niles laugh was so heavy. He was also underestimated but no bragger. "you cant cut legs off honey. Ya you may be strong, but all the time when you were still in the womb I was fighting, when you were laughing with your friends playing tag, I was killing."
Stacey fell into a defensive, and supprising vampire-like, crouch. She bared her teeth and growled, her eyes burning red. "Who said I was going to cut off your legs?" She asked, her voice an unrecognizable growl. "And who said anything about tag? My life while you were still here was so simple and carefree. But as soon as you left I was thrown into darkness and pain."
Niles laugh turned evil "you dont know the meaning of pain" his eyes darkened. Then there were little light, like stars. His robe was the shadow, the sould of the defeated.
Stacey snarled loudly. "I do know the meaning of pain. And I also know the meanign of love, something you will never feel." She hissed. Her eyes were she color of fresh blood, and her body tingled with the great power that so itched to explode.
Niles spoke in winged words "love? I dont seek love. I seek truth, I seek justice and for the people that loved me. I pitty them, because Im not that lovely"
Stacey rolled her eyes. She almost felt sorry for him. Almost. "You truely are a monster then, if you don`t seek love. Only horrible creatures don`t wish it." She said, her figure straightening.
Niles kept his kool "Not so true, for the world we live in, the monsters love"
Stacey grolwed again and rolled her eyes. While her stance appeared rather carefree, her insides were burning. She had never felt this angry, this determined to prove herself stronger. She knew she was, but he wouldn`t take no for an answer.
"Love is a gift, something that you is placed upon those only who deserve it." She hissed. "You are a low-life. Someone that feeds off of other people`s fear and hatred. The only reason you are the way you are is because of hatred."
She couldn`t help it, her eyes watered with tears. She felt strongly about love, and she was getting married to the person she loved.
"What happened to you while you were gone?" She asked, her shoulders drooping. He had split her heart in two, and she could never forgive him for that, but she wanted to know what happened.

Niles was hurt a little bit, but no words can phase him. "Stacey, you really dont want to know what happened, but I can share. 235 men 87 women 345 kids 56 elves 5 giants and 2 muggles were saved because of me. I dont like to brage, but when I do, people leave me alone."
"I deserve to know, Niles!" Stacey exclaimed. "You`ve changed your story everytime I`ve asked. The forst time you said you had to go fight the already dead Lord Voldemort. The second, to find a better life for us. Third, to find yourself. And now you say you saved people? What really happened."
Anyone who might have seen her now could never imagine that just a minute ago she was ready to make the whole block explode. Tears stained her cheeks, and her eyes were dark blue. A picture of innocence, but a fierce one.
Niles felt bad for her, but only, because she was crying. "no need to cry, really. You alresdy know, im not worth it"
Stacey snorted. "You think I`m crying because of you? I`m freaking crying because you broke my heart, so I know you aren`t worth it. You`re just too much of a jack a$$ to tell me what happened, which is something I deserve to know." She crossed her arms again, resuming her tense position.
Niles switched quickly into a defensive position "what good would me telling you do?" Niles defensive postion again quickly switched into offence. He was good at that.
Stacey shook her head. "Bebcause I deserve to know Niles. I loved you so much, then you just disappeared on me. I didn`t see or hear anything from you until tonight. I think I have a right to know where you were." She said, her eyes glowing, literally.
Niles gave in "fine, you want to know, I was... I was... I joined the death eaters"
(okay... Isabelle isn't in the room remember, but she's just outside the door.)
Isabelle gasped as she heard what Niles said, and she took it in quietly as she eavesdropped on Stacey's and Niles' conversation.
Stacey rolled her eyes. "Prove it. I don`t know about you, but I happen to know some nice Death Eaters." She hissed. "And you`re lying, besides. I told you not to lie to me, Niles. I can tell. I`ve learned things, now." She said in a dark tone.
Dark flames were growing behind her, but she seemed not to notice even though a hot breeze was rolling off of them.
Niles pulled his sleeve up. The skull and snake glittered in the moons beams. Niles hoped that this was enough, he noticed the flamed behind Stacey. He payed them no more attention then he gave Isabelle in the next room.
Stacey laughed and pushed up her left sleeve, showing the skull and snake design. It looked exactly like Niles, but when he would blink, it would disappear. "Yeah, not that hard to do. Illusion isn`t that hard to master."
As if to prove her point, she disappeared, too. Only for seven of her to appear around the room. "Which is real, Niles?" She asked tauntingly. The all spoke and tilted their heads at exactly the same time, immpossibel to tell apart.
Niles was amused, "you can to turn into a cat, well why dont you turn into somthing interesting to say" Niles skull and snake were still there, no blinking will make it dissapere.
All of the Staceys hissed and morphed into identical snowleopard forms. "You resisted the Death Eaters once before, why join them now?" Half of the cats asked. Despite having her powers greatly increased passed the abilities of most people, in her cat form she could not speak. Therefore, the cats that spoke were illusions, but their were still four other cats that were not speaking.
Niles didnt know how to answer, she was persistent, he liked that, but not at the momnet. "its easier then being the good guy"
Stacey looked at him like he was an idiot. Which, right now, he was acting a lot like one. "Niles, of course it`s easier than being the good guy. Sometimes the good guy gets killed, but it`s worth it." She said, trying to reson with him.
"If you knew, oh God, if you only knew what I had to go through and what I still have to go through every second of my conscious day, you would know that staying in it is so much harder than giving up."
