Title: -The Time-
Post by: potter_fan122 on January 12, 2009, 06:25:11 AM
Stacey lay in her bed at her Muggle mother`s home. Her eyes were closed and she was laying perfectly still. Her breathing was deep and heavy. But she was awake. She could feel eyes on her. Eyes that hadn`t been there last night. Stacey could feel the sunlight from her window coming in, bright against her closed eyelids.

The eyes moved, came closer. Stacey tightened her grip on her blanket, not knowing what was coming. But she should be safe here; this house was protected by hundreds of spells, nothing should be able to get her, right? Wrong.

Carrie pounced on her daughter, smiling brilliantly. Stacey`s eyes popped open as her mother attacked her. She was pinned to her bed, her mom holding down her arms.

"Mom," She complained, "Stop it!"

Carrie stood up a fit of giggles. "Well, come on then. Today is your seventeenth birthday, you have to get up."

Stacey sat up and crossed her arms difiantly. "If it`s my birthday, than I should get whatever I want." She pointed out.

Carrie crossed her arms. "Too bad. You are getting married in three months and you are getting up." She raised an eyebrow as if challenging her daughter.

Stacey sighed and plopped back on her pillow. "Mabey I don`t want to get up." She said softly.

Carrie rolled her eyes the dramatization. "Oh well, get up." She left quickly, closing the door loudly.

Stacey waited a few seconds until the footsteps died away, then rolled to her side, curling up into a ball. She couldn`t believe it; it had been two years since a ring had been planted on her left hand. Two years since she had pledged her heart to one person for the rest of her life.

Suddenly, she sat up. The wedding was in three months. Three. It was Febuary first, Stacey turned seventeen today. That normally wouldn`t mean much, but to Stacey it meant everything. It meant she was that much closer to being with ther person she loved, even if he was two years older, even if she had just become of age.

She was of age.

Stacey tensed again; the house was protected from Ministry. Her father`s family had all been in the Order. Some of the spells that protected the house meant that she could use simple spells away from her mother`s vision. A large smile found its way to her face.

She jumped out of her large bed and took out her wand. She flicked it and a clean set of clothes shot out towards her. She caught the shirt, but the jeans fell against the messy bed. She rolled her eyes and flicked her wand again. A small box spirraled towards her. Surprised, she dropped her wand to catch the box. This wasn`t what she had tried to levitate, she had been trying to levitate a book at the bottom of her closet.

The box was black and velvet-covered. Even more surprised, she opened it slowly. A gasp escaped her lips and she sat on the bed shakily. Inside the box was a diamond necklace. The diamond in the middle was the biggest and the rest slowly got smaller until they reached the smallest dismond that would be at the back of her neck.

A tag fell from the box and she picked it up.

Happy Birthday from you Father with a little help from your fiance.

((There`s more, just please tell me what you think so far.))

Stacey sat up, hand on her chest, breathing heavily. She looked around the room frantically, looking for what had just been in her hands, but something was off.

The door was open; hadn`t her mother closed it? She turned her head towards the window. The light that came in was grey, not bright. Could it be? She looked at her clock. 4:49 It was. It was a dream. Could it have been so real?

Stacey leaned forward and placed her hands over her face. She was still tired, but she knew there was no chance at going back to sleep. She tried to think about other things, but she couldn`t. She was having trouble just trying to remember what day it was. She knew it wasn`t Febuary, it was still January. It took her a moment to remember that she was still fifteen, not seventeen.

She ran her fingers through her hair, looking around the dimly-lit room. Her gaze trailed to her closet, the sight of the diamond necklace still fresh in her mind. She couldn`t help it; she shakily stood and and walked to the open closet, her hand trailing along the edge of the dresser. She kneeled against the light bamboo floor and dug around.

The necklace had to of been here somewhere, in her dream she had been trying to get a book that had been at the bottom of her closet, so the necklace must be there. She reached the bottom, and found a leather-bound book. She stared at the title. It was one of her old school books from her first year at Hogwarts. She sighed heavily; she couldn`t help but be slightly disappointed. The necklace had been beautiful, she had to fell some resentment in not finding it there for her.

She stood again and sank back into her bed silenty, staring at the white ceiling. Out of the corners of her eyes, she could see the bold red of her walls, interupted by the white of her dresser and the two doors that led out from her room.

She closed her now dark grey eyes, letting herself escape from the scene of her slightly messy room. She waited until she could feel sunlight on her cheek before she opened them again. She hadn`t fallen asleep in the couple hours that had passed.

She stood again, but walked out of her room, refusing to look back to her closet. Over that past hours, the vision of the necklace had faded, replaced by happier thoughts.

As she walked down the narrow hallway, she ran her fingers over the pale wall. A voice made her jump as she entered the kitchen. "Happy birthday, sweetheart."

Stacey jumped nearly two feet into the air. She instinclivly pulled out her wand, only then seeing who had startled her.

"Dad!" She complained. Her eyes were bright green.

James started laughing, leaning against the wall. "I`m sorry, I didn`t know you`d be do jumpy." She said through his booming laugh.

Stacey put her wand away, smiling. "Sorry, I just had a weird dream." She said quietly.

James nodded, having stopped laughing. "What was this dream about?" He asked his daughter, a little worried.

Stacey shrugged, walking past him. "Nothing really." She didn`t want to say anything about the beautiful necklace; picture it or think about it in any other way.

James rolled his eyes at his child`s back, following her. "Well, you`re getting a present, anyway." He said, knowing Stacey hated gifts.,

Stacey sighed dramatically. "Dad, you know I don`t like presents." She sputtered. She got an apple from a bowl and leaned against the granite counter.

James smiled, putting his hands behind his back. "I know." He said smugly. He pulled out a small box wrapped in red paper and had white ribbon and a bow.

Stacey relectantly took the bow and pulled the bow off. She popped the lid off and moved the tissue paper. She suddenly froze and her eyes locked on the only visable piece of the present she saw; dark velvet. She un-froze just as quickly and pulled the tissue paper out all of the way. She had her teeth clenched as she slid the velvet-covered box out of the gift box.

It was exactly the same. Not a stitch different.

She opened it slowly and gasped. Inside was the diamond necklace.

Stacey stared at the beautiful diamond necklace. The light coming in the big window hit the crystals and made them sparkle. Stacey quickly closed her eyes and closed the bow with a soft thud. "It`s just a dream." She mumbled to herself. "Just another dream." She slowly sank to the floor in a sitting position.

Her father had told her happy birthday, but it could be her birthday, it wasn`t even February yet. Was it? She reluctantly twisted around and opened to eyes, facing the refridgerator. There it was. All of the days were marked off, and today was February seventh.

If today was her birthday, exactly how old was she? She was sixteen, right? There was no way she could be seventeen. There was no way she would be getting married in four months. '

"Dad, how old am I?" She asked, turning now to face her confused father.

James wrinkled his eyebrows, wondering why his daughter was acting the way she was. He knew she hated getting presents, but he didn`t think she`d go as far as to pretend she didn`t know it was her birthday. "Seventeen, sweetie." He replied catiously.

Stacey sighed and closed her eyes. She was seventeen. She would be getting married to Aiden Gray in about four months. Instantly happy memories filled her head.

She saw Aiden and herself running around the large clearing, sending swirls of fire towards each other with smiles on their faces. She saw Aiden kneel in front of her and hold out a ring. She saw him standing inches from her and brush his hand along her jaw.

Stacey didn`t care that she was only seventeen and Aiden would only be ninteen. She didn`t care what other people would think of their young marriage. She knew she loved him more than anything. She was so sure because she had been willing to give up Nate for him. That took a lot for her to do that, and it still killed her to see him the way he was.

But she was still incredibly happy with Aiden. She loved him and he loved her. Most people would look at them and think thay were crazy. They would think Aiden got her pregnant and just decided to marry her. But the turth was, nothing even that close had happened.

James tilted his head towards his only daughter. He could tell her mood had changed, and the small smile on her face said she was happy.

Suddenly, Stacey`s eyes flew open and she was stndind again in a flash. "I`m seventeen." She said happily. Then sparks flew from her hands in celebration.

((There you go, sorry about the spelling errors (if there are any, which I`m sure there are) but my computer hates spell check.))

After a few minutes, the miniature fireworks died down and Stacey could see that her father was smiling. "What?" She asked, recognizing his mischevious grin.

"Nothing." James replied, holding up his hands as if to show he were innocent. "Can`t a guy just smile?"

Stacey laughed and walked towards her father, giving him a tight hug. "Thank you for the necklace, Daddy." She said, even though she hated getting presents. Her father had to be an exception, and the gift had obviously cost a lot of money.

James wrapped his arms around his daughter. "Your welcome, sweetheart." He whispered in her ear. "Now, how about we go somewhere for lunch together?" He offered, stepping back to see his only daughter`s reaction.

Stacey wrinkled her nose; she should have know there would be more. Her family could never just do a quiet party with a couple people or just give someone a book as a gift. Oh no, they had to go all-out: the best gifts, the best food, the best everything. Stacey hated to admit that her family was rich, but they were. One of her ancesters had owned thousands of acres of land and they used it well. They planted rice, tobacco, corn, and wheat. A couple gererations down the line discovered that there was oil under the land, so that was more profit. Money, in other ways, had trickled down through the whole family. They all sat like royalty; they were respected and loved members of the community, they could get pretty much whatever they wanted, and they didn`t have a care in the world.

"I suppose." Stacey said with a sigh. knowing her father wouldn`t give up.

James clapped his hands together. "Great!" He exclaimed. He knew his child wouldn`t be too happy with him when she found where they were going, but she would have to deal with it.

Two hours later, Stacey stood with her back to the wall, her arms crossed, and her eyes soft red. She was wearing a long, teal dress that her father had insisted on her wearing.

"I don`t want to wear this." She complained in a whiney voice.

James shrugged, buttoning his jacket. "Oh well."

"But it`s my birthday, I should get to do whatever I want."

"Unless you`re going to wear you birthday suit, I suggest you stop complaining."

That made her be quiet. Stacey knew her father wouldn`t really make her wear her "birthday suit," but she didn`t want to know what he had as a back-up.

((Aw, thank you my two loyal fans! And I don`t have this thing planned or anything, I`m winging it. Hope you like the next part.))

Stacey sighed heavily. She was sitting in the passenger seat of her father`s silver Mercedes, a think black cloth over her eyes. James had blindfolded her to prevent ruining the surprise her knew his daughter wouldn`t like, but it had taken a lot to plan this day, and her poor little attitude wasn`t going to change anything.

The drove up to ambuilding, even though Stacey didn`t know where they were, and James helped his daughter out of the car and up the sidewalk. He led her into the building and removed the cloth. Stacey grinded her teeth together; she knew where they where and she knew what was going to happen. The was being led to a surprise party.

James took her elbow and led her up a marble staircase. This was a building his wife`s side of the family used for their larger parties. Great, Stacey thought, I`m going to a surprise party I`m going to hate and I have to deal with everyone and their second cousin.

Almost exactly ten minutes later, Stacey was surrounded by her family members, some close like grandparents, others were an uncle`s third cousin. She had a wine glass filled with fruit puch and her teal dress glimmered in the lights. Currently, she was speaking to her grandmother, Claire.

"So, are you enjoying being seventeen?" She asked.

Stacey smiled, no one in this room knew anything about magic besides her own father, so not one other person knew that Stacey had practically free-range over her powers now, let alone that she even had powers. "Yea, I`m loving being seventeen." She replied, and part of it was because of how close her wedding was. She took a deep breath, just then realizing that in about three months she would be married.

Claire saw her grandaughter`s look become slightly different and she took her free hand gently. "It`s all right, sweetie, you`ll do beautifully." She said softly.

Stacey smiled. "Thank you grandma." She said before being ushered away by some cousin.

((Haha.))

At first, Stacey didn`t see who had taken her hand and led her away, but soon the person turned around to face her, having taken her to an empty corner of the large room.

"Kenny!" She hissed under her breath. Kenny somehow had it in his head that he was going to marry Stacey, even though she was engaged. It wasn`t that he wasn`t attractive; he had blond hair, green eyes, and tna skin, but he was a jerk.

"Yea. So have you broken up with Caiden yet?" He asked, clinging to her hand and leaning casually against the wall.

"Aiden and I are still together." She replied icily, ripping her hand from his grip.

"Aw, come on, what does he have?" He was also extremely self-centered.

Stacey didn`t reply, but instead turned around uickly and walked off. Suddenly angry, she had to force the red tint away from her eyes. Only her parents and people with powers knew that her eyes changed colors, and she had to keep it that way to keep the wizard worl a secret.

"Are you okay?" Came a small voice somewhere to Stacey`s left.

Stacey turned around, searching for the voice she knew so well. "Tristian!" She yelped excitedly as arms wrapped around her. Tristian was another cousin, but more like a brother to Stacey than Hayden was. "Oh my gosh, where have you been?" She asked, quickly hugging then pulling away from his arms to look him over. He had grown a good eight inches in the past six months and now towered over Stacey.

He chuckled lightly, holding her arms still. "I should say where have you been?" He asked. He thought Stacey was away at an expensive boarding school in London, that`s what all of the Muggle`s thought. He was wearing a light blue button-up shirt and tan pants. His dark hair was tousled slightly.

"That doesn`t matter, you`ve got to talk to me." Stacey ordered, pulling him out of the room and into a cafe-like area with little tables everywhere. She quickly waved to an aunt and uncle sitting on the other side of the room, other that that, the room was empty. She led Tristian to a table and sat down in one of the chairs, followed by her cousin sitting oposite her.

A light blush had risen in Tristian`s cheeks as he sat down. "Well, I met this girl." He said shyly. He was just a couple months older than Stacey, but he was a lot quieter compared to the rest of the family.

"Wow, that`s nice." Stacey replied sweetly. "What`s she like?"

Tristian hesitated and put his elbows on the small table. "She, uh... she`s great. But well... her eyes are like yours." Stacey immeciatly smiled, but slowly what he said sank in.

"What do mean, like my eyes?"

"I noticed that when you`re mad, your eyes get a little red. When you`re sad or upset, they get darker." He replied softly, lowering his voice to just above a whisper.

Stacey froze; someone knew. She shook her head back and forth quickly. "I don`t know what you`re talking about." She whispered, her throat too dry to use too much volume.

Tristian paused for a moment, staring at his hands. "I think you do. She goes to a boarding school in London, just like you. Her eyes change colors, just like you. She barely comes home and stayes away from people when she does, just like you."

Stacey had her hands under the table, they were tightly squeezed together so tightly that her knuckles were white. "What`s her name?" She asked, her voice hoarse.

"Alex Jinks."

Stacey let out a heavy sigh; she had never heard of an Alex Jinks, and she certainly didn`t go to Hogwarts. She didn`t know why this person`s eyes changed colors, but she didn`t care at the moment. She just had to pretend she knew Alex. "Oh, Alex. She seems nice. I don`t know her very well, but she`s a good person." She replied; she knew these words would be safe to say because she knew Tristian too well to know he would go out with anyone else.

Tristian smiled, his eyes crinkling with happiness. "So, who`s this guy you`re with?" He asked, obviously trying to take the conversation away from himself.

The subject change made a blush rise to her cheeks. "He`s really great, you`ll love him." She said, shyly looking up to her almost brother through her thick lashes. What she said was a complete understatment in Stacey`s opinion; he was the best person on the planet. When they were together, every little move one of them made made the other move, too; it was like they were polorized with magnets. Of course neither one of them noticed that, but it was extrememly obvious that they loved each other.

Tristian nodded. "I`ll see him at the wedding, then?" He asked hopefully.

Stacey nodded in response. "Of course, what would a wedding be without the groom?"

"A Surprise party?!" Stacey hissed, her voice racing through two or three octaves. "How could you possibly think to give me a surprise party?" She was pacing back and forth angrily in front of her father, who was seated in a chair. Everyone else had left and everything was ready to go. Her gifts were stacked in a near the door and all other hints of the party had disappeared. "And inviting Kenny, too! What were you thinking?"

James sighed and leaned forward to put his elbows on his knees. "Your mother planned this. Do you honestly think that I could have put this together?" He asked.

Stacey sighed and pushed her hair out of her eyes. "I`m sorry. I guess I finally realized that I`m getting married in three months."

James stood up and walked over to his daughter. He wrapped his arm around her and hugged her carefully. "You know, you don`t have you grow up so fast." He whispered into her hair.

Stacey hugged her father and buried her face into his shoulder like a little girl. "But I really do love Aiden, Dad." She replied. "I would do anything for him, as he would do anything for me."

"I know that, sweetheart." His eyes became distant as he remembered meeting Aiden for the first time. That first time they met, her had became aware of the engagement. Normally that would make a parent furious, but he could tell that Stacey and Aiden really cared about each other. It was like they were centered around each other. When Stacey had been alone with her father, she had always seemed to be looking for something, but that sense always disappeared as soon as she was with Aiden again.

"We should probably get home." She mumbled, seeing the dark light coming in th window.

James chuckled. "Actually..."

Stacey groaned. "Please Dad, not another party." She took a step back to look her parent in the face.

James laughed again. "Nah, I was just messing with you, kiddo." He teased, tousling her hair.

Stacey gave a large sigh of relief. "Don`t scare me like that!"

((Uhm.. I don`t know what to do know. I have an idea, but it involves Aiden, and Aiden can`t exactly just appear in my story.  >:())

Title: Re: -The Time-

((Oh, okay. That makes more sense to me.  ;D Yea, when I add to my FanFics, I always try to explain things about Stacey more, since you can`t really get into the family stuff in an RP.))

"Where are we going?" Stacey complained again as they turned yet another corner. They had been driving for an hour now and James had made Staceychange into old jeans and a tee shirt. She had a demin jacket over it, and the diamond necklace was stil around her neck.

James laughed quietly. "Don`t worry, yo`ll like it; it`s not a party."

Stacey sighed then slumped back into her seat. The dark tiny of the Mercedes made it hard to see outside, but she could tell they had left the city and were driving in the middle of the country-side. "Why can`t you just tell me?" She whined.

"Because I can`t." Was all her father replied.

Stacey moaned and rolled down her window. The cool night air rushed in, filling the car with the scent of the night and hay. "Please?" She begged.

"Nope."

Stacey frowned and puckered her lip. She was positive that nothing would make him tell, which made it all that more annoying.

About fifteen minutes later, lights began appearing every so often. They were the lights coming through the windows of windows from houses. Stacey`s mood lightened a little, and she though of another way to squeze the information she wanted out of her parent.

"Well, I guess we could go see Aunt Karen." She suggested, her tone making it obvious that she knew something.

James sighed and she immediatly knew she had guessed right. "Yes, we are going to see your Aunt Karen, but she`s the one with the surprise."

Stacey smiled smugly. Her aunt owned horses, but she had to stay in a wheelchair after and car accident that ended up killing her husband. Her nineteen year-old son, Nathan lived with her to take care of the animals. She hadn`t been at the party, and Stacey guessed that was because of the wheelchair.

They soon pulled up to a large house that was mostly hidden by trees. Nathan and Aunt Karen were on the large deck, obviously waiting for the new arrivals. Stacey jumped out of the car and bounded up to the porch.

"Aunt Karen, Nate!" She exclaimed, giving her aunt a large hug.

The woman laughed and returned the hug. "Hello, Stacey. I`ve got a little surprise for you, why do`t you follow me out to the barn?"

"Are you serious?" Stacey shrieked in reply, jumping back a step and running into her father.

"Carefull." He teased, putting his hands over her shoulders.

Nathan laughed. "Yes, she`s serious, now come on." He helped his mother down to the ground then turned and motioned for James and Stacey to follow. He led them down a well-used dirt path and into a large barn. Two horses were saddled and ready to go.

"Now, here you go, Molly and Max." Karen introduced. Both horses were chocolate brown with light cream manes and tails.

"Oh my gosh! You`re kidding!" Stacey shrieked, jumping up and down.

All three of the others laughed loudly. "Be quiet or you`ll scare them." Her father warned.

Stacey immediatly stopped jumping and yelling. "I`m sorry." Se murmured as she walked trance-like to the two horses.

She carefully put her left foot in the stirrup and pushed down on his; the horse didn`t protest, so she pulled herself up into the saddle.

"Max, the one you`re on, is a little crazy sometimes." Nathan warned.

Stacey smiled and shrugged. "It`s not like I haven`t been here before." She replied, turning Max in a circle.

James quickly pulled himself into Molly`saddle and Nathan and Karen back up. "Go, why don`t ya." The woman exclaimed.

Stacey laughed and nudged the horse with her heel. Max whinnied and took of at a steady pace. She only faintly heard the adults laughing in the backround and she completely missed the part where her father got out of his saddle and hugged the two others. "Thanks, Karen, Nate." He said before getting back in the saddle and leading the horse out of the barn. "I`ll be back in two hours to pick you up!" He yelled after his daughter, hopign she heard him.

They were going quickly down a steep path, cantering uphill. Stacey knew that once they got to the top, she would have a clear veiw of the moon. The moon, her other half. She pushed the horse harder; it seemed both horse and trainer were on the same wavelenght, both of them wanted, needed, to get to the top of the hill.

Five minutes later they were resting in clear veiw of the stars. Stacey was sprawled out in the cool grass and Max was laying down not far away. Her eyes were a dark shade of grey- the stars made her remember Aiden too much. A single tear ran down her cheek and she didn`t bother to brush it away. She felt strangely hollow right now. She didn`t know if it was the open space or the clean air, but something inside of her opened and it brought back all-too-clear memories that were almost painful to recall.

She remembered the night that Aiden propsed to her, she had layed in his arms for hours, not willign to move. She remembered when she and Aiden had been in the forest, showing each other what they could do with their control over fire. All of the little details of every single moment with him were now magnified in her memory.

Max made a soft noise and Stacey stretched out her arm to run her fingers over his head and neck. Her eyes shone in the bright moonlight that lit everything up. Below them were miles of land just for horses and farming, but everything was silent at this time, perfect. A peacefull ending to a day of remembrance.

Stacey couldn`t wait until she could be in Aiden`s arms again, the time away from him was too boring without him. It was like looking at the sky with no moon. "My moon." Stacey mumrmured, staring up at the bright disk that so much resembled her true love.

((I think this is the end of this one.))

I love it! As much as I want you to keep writing, I know it would probably just drag on without much point.  Great Job!!!!!!!!!!!  ;D

>.< Thanks! Yea, I didn`t even know how to end it, or what to put next, or anything! There`s pretty much nothing I can do to it now. It died out.

But it had a great closing line, you have to admit that.  It kind of closed the deal... made it end with grace.  You know?
