Marissa watched the Quidditch game, not taking anything in. She thought hard.

It was seven pm, and a few friends were sitting in front of the fire, warming themselves after they had been drenched by Peeves water bombs.
Monique rubbed her hands together and drew out her wand, flicking it so she was now completely dry.
'That's better,' she said happily, putting her wand back into her pocket, after doing the same to her friends. Strectching her arms, she yawned.
'So,' she said to her friends. 'O.W.Ls this year huh?' She attempted to make conversation.

Marissa entered the Great Hall shivering uncontrollably. She walked with her new friend towards the front of the hall, where Professor McGonagall was waiting.
'I am guessing that it was still raining as you crossed the lake, Hagrid?' She asked.
Hagrid nodded and McGonagall glanced at Marissa. She pointed her wand at Marissa and immediately Marissa felt warm.
'The sorting shall now begin,' Professor McGonagall's voice rang through the hall. 'First up, Abby, Marissa.'
Marissa walked up slowly toward the stool and sat down. She felt the hat as it was placed on top of her.
'I see a lot of courage, and bravery,' the hat said. Marissa fought back a laugh. Her? Brave? 'I know . . .' the hat continued. 'Gryffindor!'
Marissa grinned and sat down at the Gryffindor table. She watched as her friend got sorted.

'I thought so,' he said jubilantly. 'I heard Goyle's trunk hit you.  And I thought I saw something white flash through the air after Zabini came back . . .' His eyes lingered on Harry's trainers. 'That was you blocking the door when Zabini came back in, I suppose?'
He considered Harry for a moment.
'You didn't hear anything I care about, Potter. But while I've got you here . . .'
And he stamped, hard, on Harry's face. Harry felt his nose break; blood spurted everywhere.
'That's from my father. Now let's see . . .'
Malfoy dragged the Cloak out from under Harry's immobilised body and threw it over him.
'I don't reckon they'll find you till the train's back in London,' he said quietly. 'See you around, Potter . . . or not.'
'And taking care to tread on Harry's fingers, Malfoy left the compartment.
