Goblet(real name Keith) goes to the Hog's Head hoping not find anyone on the way there. He covers his face with his cloak to make sure nobody knows its him as he walks in the Hog's Head. He walks up to the barkeeper. "What?" he says rudely. Goblet made the mistake of staring at the barkeeper's red slit in his eye."You want a drink or do you want your eye to have something in common with mine?" he said threateningly. "Butterbear." said Goblet curtly. He sits down and drinks the butterbear silently while staring around. The only person in the Hog's Head besides him and the barkeeper is a person covered in about 10 cloaks looking intently at a dirty ring and muttering under his breath. "It could be worse," Goblet told himself. He would never show up at the Three Broomsticks after he was tricked into drinking the goblet at the triwizard tournament. Luckily, Dumbledore drew a line to keep him from having fire in his body. He became distracted after saw someone come in the Hog's Head.
Lavender entered the Hog's Head soundlessly, her form moving with the grace and mirthless chill of the shadows clinging to her thin, toned form. A black, hooded cloak covered her entire being, and shadowed her features in a black entity of darker shadows yet. Raven hair of the finest elements flowed about her shoulders, minute braids here and there woven in the strands, flowing down over her chest. Her mental shields too high to be reached, and her aura icily cold, her eyes swept about the near vacant room. Upon seeing a new face, she made way over, and seated herself upon the seat at his side.
At a glance at her dark form, the bartender turned and made his way into the back of the bar, returning moments later with a red glass bottle, which he set before her, turning immediately after, to attend the rest of his stock.
Lavender poured herself a large glass of the drink, taking up the glass and swirling its contents in a circular motion for a long while, before she slammed it down. What would be an easy, simple thing for most, her action caused the heavy glass to shatter over the countertop. And yet, she seemed to be slightly amused by this, retrieving her hands back to her lap.
She turned her head toward the male, and seemed to eye him, from beneath her black hood.
"So. Who are you, then?" She questioned, with a quiet, melodious voice of icy tones..
Goblet hesitated at the girl's dazziling appearance and rhythm of her conversation."Real name's Keith, but people call me Goblet," said Goblet. "I have never seen you before. What's your name?"
Inclining her head, she seemed to smile, though her features were hidden from view.
"Keith, then," she returned in her soft voice. "The real name is Lavender, and you may call me whatever you please. You might not have seen me before, for I, unlike others, do not seek much attention."
Lavender suddenly laughed, the sound warming and soothing to the ears, though short and so very quiet..
Ginny slipped into the Hog's Head. She needed to get something off her mind, and the best way to do that was to talk with her friends. She saw Lavander and walked over, nodding at them.
"Hey guys."
Goblet felt his head clear up like wildfire after this girl, Lavender, laughed so quietly. He wanted to tell a joke so she will laugh again but he knew that now wasn't the time. He just realized that a girl named Ginny walked in."Oh, hello Ginny," Goblet said. He took a swig of butterbear. He started to talk but something was caught in his throat and he started coughing. He spat a piece of glass in his hand and he then realized that the shattered glass came from the red bottle. He quickly hid the glass because he didn't want to give Lavender the slightest reason to leave. "So, um, Ginny," Goblet started, "what brings you here? Unless you saw me or Lavender walk in, I don't think you would be here to meet friends.
Ginny started to laugh. She thought everyone knew.
"I know where every one is. Always. I'm psychic. And I wanted to talk to people. For once." She smiled and pulled out a chair, sitting in it.
"So then you can read minds?" Goblet was starting to feel a little nervous.
Lavender eyed the glass shard in Keith's hand as she watched him, her keen eyes missing nothing. She then turned her fine head toward Ginny, the hood shifting slightly, and yet another raven lock of hair tumbling out from the shadows beneath it.
"Hey, Gin," she said. "Yes, the old girl certainly can read minds. I can too, but she's a little more upfront about it."
Lavender seemed to wink.
"Talk away, then, and I shall drink away. I'm in the mood to listen and involve myself into conversations. Tell me Keith, why is it others call you Goblet?"
As Lavender spoke, the bartender replaced the old bottle with a sparkling new, and this she took up, and downed a large drink, sighing afterward, and setting it down with a gentle hand.
"Just a nickname I got from a...incident when the Triwizard Tournament was around. Do you remember that Goblet of Fire? Well, one of my friends told me that it was a new drink that was supposed to be one of the best in the world and you are allowed to take one free sample swig. I went up to take a drink and Dumbledore's line knocked me about hundred feet back. I know that it was really stupid thing to do but I didn't eat the night before, hadn't eaten breakfast yet,and well,I can be really crazy and gullible if I am extremely hungry. I was most likely hallucinating from the hunger but the fire in the goblet looked like an ice cold butterbear." Goblet looked down to make sure that there was no glass in his mug and he drank down the rest of his butterbear. He then took out a galleon and started flipping it around in his dexterous fingers.
"The Triwizard Tournament... Yes, I think I can faintly remember that year." she replied. "Horrible thing, hunger. And things of those sorts happen, sadly."
Lavender raised her pale hands, lowering the hood of her cloak. She pulled her raven hair out from the folds of the hood, and let the locks drop behind her, and around her shoulders, falling to her lower back; tickling at her slim hips. She set the cloak across the back of her seat, and shifted to a more comfortable position. After taking another long swig of the drink, she then returned her elbows to the countertop, her blazing, green eyes of varying shades watching the coin in his hand, much as a cat of deadly, cunning ferocity would watch a twitching mouse tail.
Ginny made a face. "Your the kid who did that? My god, even I don't get that strange." She shook her head. She remembered hearing about that kid that year.
Goblet continued to flip the galleon to make it almost look like the coin was moving on its own. Every second the galleon moved faster and and Goblet refuses to concentrate on anything else. "Well, you would have to go crazy some time if you didn't eat for 14 hours. By the way Ginny," said Goblet, looking intentivly at his galleon, "can you read minds very well?"
Ginny frowned, her happy attitude changing.
"Yes I can, but I rather not. It's to simple to go through most of the minds in this school. I can also hear thoughts, see the futer past and present, I have telekinesis and anything else you might want to mention. I'm one of the three biggest psychics in this school. And I don't like being questioned about my powers." Even her voice had losts it's humor.
"Sorry. Let's change the subject." said Goblet, now balancing the galleon off his fingertips and slowly rolling it through his fingers. "Do either of you know what that red slit in that barkeeper's eye is?"
"Nope. Could find out, but I'm not all that interested. Go and ask him if you want. The worst he can do is say 'go away.'"
"I asked him a bunch of times before, but all he does is make empty threats. Oy! Barkeep! What's wrong with your eye?" yelled Goblet. The barkeeper, predictably, made a threat and said,"You keep asking me that question, I'll stick an umbrella up your nose and open it." "You see." said Goblet.
She shrugs. "Maybe he dosn't wanna talk to you." Ginny watched the barkeeper for a moment, the light playing against her eyes, making them seem to spark. She looked back at Goblet.
"He never wants to talk to anybody," responded Goblet. "You think he'll tell you?" asked Goblet. Now holding two galleons and flipping them between his fingers rapidly.
Ginny shrugged again and stood, walking to the bar.
"What happened to you eye?" she asked boredly.
"I got hit with a spell there. Ok, are you kids happy now?", he answeared, making a face at himself for answering. he hadn't wanted to, in fact he had ment to yell at her as well.
"Thank you." Ginny turned and went back to her seat. She looked at Goblet.
"Happy?"
"No, not really. Now that I know what happened, I'm feeling that the last year of my time was just a waste. Well, it's been nice talking to you two. I gots to go finish my charms essay." said Goblet, now walking up to the door. "If you want to meet again, I'll be here tomorrow, same time, same place."
Payne walked into the room with her head down and bumped into Goblet.Looking up she pulled the hood of her cloak down,"Sorry 'bout that. Wasn't looking."She walked around him and to the barkeep whispering a few words she took a seat.
Goblet hesitated before leaving. His Charms essay wasn't due until next week and he was half done with it. And he wouldn't mind staying here for a little while longer. Goblet went to sit next to Payne. "Want to talk?" asked Goblet.
Payne looked at Goblet with curiosity,"About what?"The barkeep brought her drink to her and she cringed at the sight of his eye. He glared at her and said,"My eye scare you?" Payne calmly said,"No your face does.So why don't you leave."He walked away to a table and started screaming at a guy sitting there. She looked back at Goblet and said,"I hate him. He always acuses me of stealing and stuff.But I'm sure you don't want me to bore you with talking about him so I'll introduce myself,I'm Payne."At this she held out her hand.
"Goblet."he said plainly and extended his harm to shake her hand. "I despise the barkeeper as much as the next person. But out of curiosity, what does he accuse you of stealing?" asked Goblet.
Payne snorted,"Because alot of my friends do steal from here. My ex-boyfriend gave me a ring that he stole from the barkeep. One day he saw my ring and accused me of stealing it."She shrugged,"Why do you hate him?"
"Well, watch this. Hello barkeeper. Isn't this a wonderful day?" asked Goblet. "Go away." said the barkeeper. "Still my friend I see, well good to see you." said Goblet sarcastically. The barkeeper walked away and mumbled something about crazy lunatics. "Does that answer your question?" asked Goblet.
Payne laughed,"Yeah I guess it does."She took a drink from her butterbeer,"So,you friends with Ginny and Lavender?"
"Yep, just recently. Are you friends with them?" Goblet asked.
She shrugged,"I guess.They always seem to be annoyed with me and Lavender seems...strange.(no offence Lavender if you read this!)Ginny is okay since she's a psychic like I am."
"Lavender is definently unusual. Ginny said something that she is one of the three psychics of the whole school. Do you know who is the third psychic? And do mind me asking questions about your powers?" asked Goblet.
"I think Ginny told me about the three psychics in the school but I forgot,cause my memory is a span of five seconds. And as for my powers I have a control over the fire elment,I can orb,I'm an animagi wolf,I have telekinesis,telpathy,and I'm learning to control the Powers of Chaos."She took a breath,"Do you have any special powers?"
"A few,"replied Goblet. "I am an animagi of every animal and I can turn..." Goblet suddenly became..., "invisible. And watch this." Goblet took his hand and touched Payne's shoulder and she became invisible too.
Payne looked down at her body and didn't see it,"Dude,that's sweet.You must have alota fun with this power."She waved her hand in front of her face,or she thought she did because it wasn't there.
"I sure do. Let's stop being invisible. It feels kinda weird talking to nobody." Goblet said. "You said something about controling the fire element. What elements are possible to control?"asked Goblet.
Payne thought for a moment,"Ummmmm...Okay this is going to be a long list so please don't fall asleep during it."She held up her fingers and started counting.

2.Water(Ginny controls water)
3.Earth
4.Wind
5.Spirit
6.Darkness
7.Light
8.Metal(I think...)
She laughed,"Okay so it wasn't as long as I thought but you get the picture."She held out her hand and summoned a fire ball,"I like controlling fire cause I stay warm most of the time except when it's raining then all I can do is blind people with stem."
Goblet laughed. "You know, I wouldn't be surprised if Lavender could control the element of darkness.(No offense) "Can anybody in your family control an element?" asked Goblet.
Payne smirked,"Yeah,my mama can control all of them.I hate that she can because she always gloats about how she can control them all but I can only control two."Payne started mocking her mother"Oh Payne,I so wish you could control all the elements.You won't be a good Queen of Chaos if you are weak.I wish she would jump in a hole and die."

Goblet laughed again. "That is sort of like me and my big brother. He is an animagi too, but he can only turn into an gerbil, and I can turn into every animal, so when I compare myself to him when we are animals, he turns into a gerbil and I turn into, well,...a ferocious tiger. Anyway, I bet your mom doesn't have, uh," Goblet starts thinking deeply,"telekineses, er, telepathy, turn into a wolf, or being able to orb, can she?"asked Goblet.

"Okay so she can't turn into a wolf so I guess I could talk some wolves into giving her a scare...but I musn't get my hopes up."She snapped her fingers in defiance."If only my mama hadn't been with that Black fellow than I might've been more powerful."
"If you mind me asking, what Black fellow?" asked Goblet.
She waved her hand as if waving something away,"Oh,some guy named Sirius Black.Never met him but he did give me a bracelet."She showed Goblet her arm which had a black metal band with the Black insignia in silver."Mailed it too me. Five days later the Headmaster Dumbledor told me had died.I don't take the bracelet off cause for some reason I feel I must preserve his memory."She shrugged.
"How does that prevent you from being more powerful?" asked Goblet.
"Because Black was a normal wizard and my mother is the Queen of Chaos.If she'd married the King of Evil or someone like Voldemort I might've been powerful but...I guess it's better to have atleast someone in my family who isn't evil."She smiled,"So I'm just going to assume that your on Potter's side because you don't look or sound the type to be all evil and crap."
"The only side that I am on is mine. I am not on Potter's side or Voldemort's. So are you on Potter's side, or Voldemort's side?" asked Goblet.
"I guess you could say I'm on Potter's side even though I'm not very 'active' in helping him.So why aren't you on either of their sides?"
"Well, Voldemort is a mindless human that enjoys killing people. I am definently not his side, right? And Potter, well, I can't lay my finger on it but, there is something about him that keeps me away from his side. I don't know why." replied Goblet. "But if I absolutely have to choose a side, than I would have to go with Potter's.
Payne nodded,"I get what you mean by not trusting Potter.Part of the reason I'm Potter's side is to peeve my mama off.Personally I'd rather the two go ahead and duke it out so I can finally sleep without having visions."She leaned over the counter when the barkeep wasn't watching and refilled her cup."
"What visions do you get?" asked Goblet.
Payne sat the cup back down after taking a drink from it."Visions of Potter dying,visions of Voldy dying.You name it,I've seen it."She scratched her head,"But what I don't get is every time I have a good vision my mind counters with an excidingly bad one."She laughed,"You probably think I'm insane but it really is exhausting watching everything happen and not be able to tell the people it's happening to what's happening."She stopped and added,"If that made any since what-so-ever."
"I think I see what you mean. But don't get your hopes up when Harry or Voldemort dies. You are probably going to have more visions. Visions for yourself or something. But hey, don't listen to me. This is right off the top of my head." said Goblet.
"Wow...your one of the only people who ever get's what I say.That just got you some points.Though I'm not sure for what.But I'll try to take your advice and not get my hopes up though I bet you five bucks that I will by tomorrow."She slapped five backs on the counter but quickly took it back."Nevermind,I'd rather keep this.What about you?I've been rambling for a good amount of time about myself so it's your turn."
Goblet felt intrigued. Nobody asked him about himself before. "Well, what do you want to know?
"Your new here,right?Well where are you from?"Payne looked at him with curiosity
"I am from a town you never heard of in Texas. But most people have a hard time believing that because I don't have 'the accent' " replied Goblet.
"Ahhh... your from America.Why don't you have the accent,afraid to be too normal?I'm kidding but does your family have the accent?"
"Yeah it can be nice, but if you live there, you kinda tune everything out if you know what I mean." replied Goblet.
"Yeah,I know what you mean.Does your family still there?"
"Yeah, but they have fights alot. It kinda makes me glad I am here at Hogwarts." replied Goblet.
"Can I ask why they have fights?Is your parents divorced or something?
(Sorry Goblet,I've got to go.My dad's being mean to me.See ya tomorrow!)
"Well that's the thing. They always fight and the next day, they make up. Then they fight that same day and make up the next day. It's an ongoing process everyday."responded Goblet."I don't even know what they fight about half the time."
