Dear Journal,
I HAVE BEEN DELIVERED INTO THE CAMP OF MINE ENEMY!!!!!!
God, why?!? WHY did it have to be Laurey?!? My best friend! It was Laurey Johansen all along! She just HAD to talk to him after class and be her natural charming self, didn't she?!? AND, to top this picturesque day off, I am now locked in the room of Benedict Arnold herself, not to be released until we make up. I was so upset when I found out it was her that I did not write for a week. And now, I must stay in a room with her, all alone! So far, she has tried to apologize (and still persists), but I brush her off smugly each time, wouldn't you?!? Here is the basic layout of our "conversation"-Laurey-Leigh, why does it matter anymore? Leigh-Because I still love him. Laurey-But, do you hate him, too? Leigh-Not as much as you. Laurey-That's not fair, he is just as guilty as I am... Leigh-But I should have been able to trust you, therefore, I hate you more. Laurey-I AM sorry, Leigh, can you forgive me? Leigh-Go away. Laurey-How can I make it up to you? Leigh-Break up with him. Laurey-But that is just to hurt me-to make sure I ALWAYS feel miserable! I thought we were best friends. Our scrapbooks say so "best of friends forever and ever". Remember that? Leigh-I wouldn't know, I got rid of it. Laurey-*with a wavering voice*A-are you serious? You really got rid of it? Leigh-No, I sent it home to put in a box. Laurey-FINE, I'll stay away from you, as long as I still get Owen. We're promised, you know.(THAT was crossing the line too much) Leigh-Really? When is the wedding, so I can hex it? Do you mind if I curse your children? What a lovely conversation, right? Anyway, I said I would forgive her as long as I never had to see her and Owen within 20 feet of each other and never had to make eye contact with her again. This, of course, was not true, but I had to get out of there.
Love,
Leigh
