Vivian was sitting at the edge of the lake under a tall sycamore tree. She loved watching water ripples and the occasional small fish dart by. It was her kind of weather, the sun was partially hidden behind a few clouds, and there was a nice breeze. She was wearing a jean skirt that went down past her knees and her favorite purple short sleeve shirt.
"Hello Vivian!" Avalee knew Vivian from her muggle days, she had gotten a letter a week earlier announcing her arrival. She was very excited that her best friend from the muggle world had come. Avalee was wearing her usual black top and blue jeans. It was nice and cool by the lake, there was quite a bit of wind that day, but it was still very nice. She went over and sat next to Vivian.
((Is this ok?))
"Hi Avalee!" She was so glad that her and her best friend were now going to the same school. "Is there anything new with you since I have been in the muggle world?"

"Well.." She said pausing. "I told you about what happened with Aiden, right?" She was so nervous about what would happen she wanted to throw up half the time, and she was jumpy about every little noise.
((Awesome!))
"Yeah, I remember you telling me about that. Do you know whats going to happen?" She asked sincerely. She didn't want to pry, but she somehow wanted to help.
She wanted to break down, but held herself together. "I have no idea. Stacey is mad, Aiden is frustrated, mad at himself, and confused, and I'm...." She took a long pause. "All of the above!" She took a breath. "But I'm dealing." She wanted to change topics, and she would soon, but she needed to vent.
((Can I call her Viv as a nickname?))
She could see so many emotions in her eyes. "I'm sure it will get better." She said as she gave Avalee's shoulder a small squeeze. "Be careful though." She said, as she gazed back to the lake.
((Sure! That would be cool!))
"What has been up in the muggle world?" She said, changing the subject. Now with her and Heather backing her up, she felt better.
"The muggle world is pretty boring compared to here. Everything here just.... seems to be filled with magic." She laughed at her self for realizing how stupid that sounds, I mean of course its magical shes at Hogwarts for goodness sake!
"It is, but be careful Viv. There are some seriously dangorus people here. They scare me to death." She shivered at the thought. But now she had an idea to lighten the mood. "How about a little friendly competion?" She asked raising a menicing eyebrow.
"I'll try. Thanks." She said with a smile. It might be hard for her to stay out of trouble, because it seemed no matter where she was trouble always found her. She quickly pushed that thought away. "What kind of competition are you thinking about?" She asked with a sly smile, and a hint of excitement in her voice.
"I want to test your skills Viv!" She said with a sly grin. "Show me what you got!" She said standing up. She was anxious (in a good way) to see whather friend could do.
Vivian stood up slowly, a little nervous of what was about to happen. "Are you sure? I just started, I- I'm really not good at all." She said stammering. Her shapeshifting was comming along ok I guess. She was just always nervous when it came to stuff like this.
"Come on Vivian! I have been here what, a month longer than you? I'm the only one here, exept the lake, and last time I checked, large bodies of water won't critique your magic!" She laughed. She was pushing her beat friend. Vivian was always a little shy and didn't like to flaunt her powers, but come on! She was at Hogwarts now! No more of those idiots to put her down!(I think you know who I'm reffering to, her name starts with an 'a' :P)
"I guess your right." She said laughing. She knew her friend was right. She was at Hogwarts now. This was the kind of stuff they did on a daily basis. "What do you want me to do exactly?" She said feeling a little more brave.
(( lol. Have you heard from her in a while?))
She smiled. "I don't know, transform into any animal! Do a magical one even, like a pegasus!" She remembered the last time she had encountered this strange animal, she was at a magical fair that was in the area.
"A Pegasus?" She said rubbing her chin. She had heard about them sometimes being found in the Forbidden Forest. "I don't think I'm that far advanced yet." Horses had been hard for her to do, she has never really understood why though. "I like transforming into birds. That was her favorite thing so far to transform into. It made her feel so free.
"Then do that!" She said. She knew that Vivian was stalling.
"Ok, Here I go." She closed her eyes, and mumbled something under her breath. Then it happened fast, a couple of seconds ago she was Vivian Iris, and now she was Vivian Iris The Robin. She flew up to the lowest branch of the tree they were standing under, and ruffled her feathers.
She laughed, and stood up. She transformed herself into her favorite bird. A small blue/black raven. She perched on a rather thick branch one above Vivians. She then transformed back into herself. She was laughing. Avalee loved the thrill of the transforming. It made her hyper and tired at the same time, happy yet sad-because she would never be as free as a bird- at the same time. It was wonderful.
Vivian was laughing by the time she had changed back into her human form. "That was fun!" She said looking up at Avalee. "I love the way it feels transforming into something different. Its hard to explain, it just makes you feel free." She said when wonder and excitement in her voice.
((I haven't talked to 'A' since I got back from Europe, that was.... June 19th! I have texted her once since then, she said she misses everything about school, even Mr W!!!))
She laughed. It was nice to have someone who understood, and was in her house, and knew about her muggle history. "I agree." She looked at the water, then to the sky a few of the clouds had moved and she had come to the lake originally to go swimming. "Wanna swim?" She said her eyes lighting up. They were currently on a cliff by the water. An easy spot to dive off of.
((Wow! I have not talked to her since the beginning of this month.))
She followed her gaze to the lake. She loved the water ever since she was little. "Sure!" She agreed enthusiastically. She jumped off of the spot she was standing, but somewhere in the middle of her dive she changed in to a small seal. She hit the water with a splash! She swam back to the top in her human form again. "Jump in! The waters fine!" She said laughing.
.Avalee was a little nervous. She had never been on this side of the lake. She had heard myths and ghost tales from other students of monsters on the water. She set that aside in her mind. She jumped, she had curled into a ball but it took a long time to finally hit the water. The lake water was a little cool, but still pleasant. She smiled, a gentle smile. She could never understand how this lake became so, people friendly. Years ago many students had not dared to go near it
Vivian was floating on her back the water felt really nice. The water looked like it was sparkling, it looked like thousands of diamonds on the surface. It was probably going to get dark soon, the dark really spooked her. She hoped her friend didn't notice the panic on her face. She quickly smiled, and got of her back and looked up at the sun. It was almost sitting on the horizon.
Aiden walked around the school aimlessly. For the most part of the day it has been quiet, but now he heard laughter and the soft splashing of water in the distance. He tilted his head slightly to the side, and walked towards the noise to investigate who it was.
He looked around over the cliff base, and saw Avalee with another girl whom he didn't know. He walked up to the two of them.
"How's the water?" Aiden asked the two of them quietly.
"Aiden!" She said, her face lighting up. She was in love with Aiden Grey, but it was complicated, because well, he was married. "Aiden, this is Vivian, Vivian, Aiden." She introduced them. Vivian knew of Aiden but hadn't met him. "And the water is wonderful! Join us!" She shouted up to him.
Avalee was in her favorite bathing suit. It was black with a v-neck, and it was a one piece. The sun was going to set within the next two hours, but she didn't care, but Vivian would. Vivian hated the night, but Avalee was going to get rid of that. She was such a control-freak.
Aiden greeted Vivian with a wave and a smile. He looked at the water, deciding on whether or not he really wanted to swim. Eventually, he shrugged his shoulders and slid his shirt and shoes off. Aiden slowly walked towards the water until it was at his knees.
"It feels nice." He commented, nodding his head with approval.
"Hi!" She said to Aiden. "I don't believe we have met. I'm Vivian Iris." She said cheerfully. Or as cheerfully as she could manage with it getting dark.
She nodded at Aiden and his comment about the water. She glanced over to Vivian and saw her worrying expression towards the sun, and decided to help. "Viv, the sun won't set for a little while longer. Your fine." She said, trying to calm her friend. She nodded and smiled. She ran up to a large rock and climbed on top. She jumped off curling herself into a backwards somersault. Avalee hit the water with a slash, knowing that her splash would hit the others, laughing. When she came back up she was still laughing enjoying the time she had with her friends.
Aiden laughed as Avalee jumped off of the cliff base into the warm water. He looked at Vivian and her worried expression.
"Here." He offered, flicking his wrist and made a flame appeared. It caused a bright light around them. He hoped it wouldn't make her fear the dark.
"Yeah. I guess your right." Avalee always knew how to make her feel better. "Thanks Aiden." Vivian said sincerely. Vivian laughed when the water hit her. "Nice splash!" She said to Avalee. She was having alot of fun. She wasn't really worried about the dark anymore.
She smiled as she saw Aiden try to comfort Vivian. She would be fine she tried to remind herself. Although none of her friends new about this, except maybe Viv, she had a history of Anxiety Disorder. She had been better with it, but it still occurred. Sometimes with the strangest situations.
She was watching Avalee out of the corner of her eye, and she could see she was really thinking about something. She probably would not of seen it if it had not been for the flickers, and sparks of the flame. "Whats ya thinking about?" She asked with a smile.
Aiden walked towards the cliff, and picked up a small limb. He used the flame in his hands to light it, making a torch. He stuck it into the ground, and littlea few more. Now the surrounding area was bright with lights. He grinned with satisfaction and looked at both of them.
Vivian grinned back. "I would come outside every night if it was always like this."
She smiled even wider. "Thank you, Aiden!" She said tilting her head to the side, mocking him as she so often made fun of is cute habit. The lights were nice and warm as the day was almost over. She turned to Vivian who was speaking in a tone, and phrased her words only a way that Vivian could. ((You talk that way all the time, Lil! =])) "I'm thinking about the play by Shakespear, A Midsummer Nights' Dream. And I'm wondering if faeries like that exist, well here." She said pulling a thought from the back of her mind.[/color]
Vivian laughed. "You sound just like me!" She was watching the sun, it was barely visible on the horizon. "I don't see why the couldn't exist here. I mean Pegasus's do! Why not faeries!" The sky was a dark dark blue. If she hadn't had the torches she would of ran on home hours ago. This place was giving her hope, maybe she would concur her fears, and get to experience a whole new different world.
Aiden layed onto his back, floating on the water's surface. It was strange how physics worked. He took in a deep breath, and listened to them quietly. He had never read the book so he didn't hae the slightest idea of what they were talking about.
Aiden took in a deep breath, and dove under the water for a few moments.
She laughed. She took a deep breath and dove under the water. She opened her eyes, somehow the water didn't hurt her eyes at all, she could even see clearly. Smiled and came up for air.
Aiden broke the waters surface and took in a deep breath, he could feel the air escape back into his lungs. He chuckled quietly, and swam to where he could stand up, the water now being to his shoulders. Aiden flipped his hair which sent droplets of water flying everywhere.
"Sorry." He said with a laugh.
Vivian smiled too. She was having a really good time. "So, Aiden tell me about yourself, whats your favorite movie?" She laughed at herself for being so random, but that's just who she was.
She laughed quietly as Aiden hit her with tiny droplets of water, and even more as Viv asked one of her famously random questions.
Aiden turned to Vivian, and began to think of a moment.
"I'm not really sure if I have a favorite. I pretty much like any horror movie known to man." He said with a chuckle and a grin.
"Horror movies are to scary for me. I preferably like to watch the classic Disney's." She said smiling.
"Bambi, is your favorite, isn't it?" She laughed harder. She had been forced to sit through Bambi multiple times with Viv. It's not that she didn't like it, she just grew sick of it. Yet when she tried to talk her into watching Sweeney Todd, she wouldn't budge.
Aiden laughed, and ran in fingers through the warm water. The sun was beginning to set, but the light from the flames hardly made it noticable.
"Bambi?" He inquired, raising an eyebrow. "I haven't seen that in years actually."
"It is my favorite! You know me so well Avalee." She remembered back in the muggle world when she and Avalee would watch that, well she made her but still. It was fun. "I last time I saw it was a couple of weeks ago." She said laughing. She was such a child.
She turned to Viv. "I hope I am never forced to watch it again." She said putting a fake mad face on. She could hold her face on for very long and smiled again.
She smiled. "Oh you will. I brought it with me."
She couldn't help but laugh and while Vivian was distracted, she formed a ball out of some water and her magic and threw it at Vivian, hitting her square in the forehead, then running and hiding behind Aiden.
Aiden laughed, and turned around to look at Avalee.
"I'm not your meat shield." He said with an amused smile on his face. "I'd run away."
"You would?" She said narrowing her eyes playfuly. She waited for Vivian to strike back.
She jumped at first when the water ball hit her, but then she started laughing. "Don't worry, I'll find away to get you back later. When you least expecting it." She said with a smug smile.
Aiden laughed, and put his hand in the water. He playfuly flicked a bit of water at Vivian. He wondered if she would actually try anything him, considering he was four years older and much larger.
"So, now I'm going to have to get both of you back later." She said smiling.
She smiled mocking her. "Sure. If you can!" She said teasing her. Vivian was going to like it here. She knew that for a fact, she also knew that Viv was going to get back at them no matter what.
Aiden chuckled, and cupped his hand in the water. He poured water in his hair, causing it to rain over his face as well.
"I'm guessing a rain check, then?" He suggested with a smile.
She smiled. Truthfully she had know idea what she was going to do yet, but things like that usually just came to her. She kind of something in mind, but she didn't know if she would be able to pull it off.
She stuck her tongue out at Vivian being childish and having fun. Aiden just stood there. Aiden had no idea what tricks Viv could pull, Avalee was going to have to be on her toes.
Aiden sat down in the water, the surface coming up to his chin now. He looked at the two to of them.
"What do y'all want to do now?" He asked.
She smiled "We could play I Spy!" She said sarcastically.
"Any non-sarcastic ideas Aiden?" She asked sticking her tongue out again at Viv.
Vivian laughed and went under water. Now was probably the perfect time to do what she had been planning to do. She smiled to herself and swam out into deeper waters. Then she really concentrated, she had never tried to transform into anything this big before.Then she could feel her spine taking a different shape, and before she knew it she did it! She successfully transformed into a dolphin. Vivian swam back a little ways to where Avalee and Aiden were at in the water, then she lifted her powerful tail out of the water and brought it back down as fast as she could. She could feel the wave she created. She felt happy, proud, like she had accomplished something she never thought possible. She changed back into her human form and swam back up to the surface. She diffidently did not want to miss there faces.
Avalee wondered where Vivian was looking around. Then she felt a huge wave of water hit her from behind. She turned around to see a suspicious looking dolphin behind her. It was Viv. She laughed, but was thoroughly drenched.
