Nate smiled as he gazed up at the clouds as spring came clearly that day. The clouds covered the shining sun, so his body wouldnt glimmer. And his eyes shone with excitement as he looked around as many students strolled around and talked and played. He began to walk quickly and smoothly towards the forest. He stopped a far ways off, not even breathless as he heard someone behind him. He could see the shadow clearly now of that person but he didnt know who it was.....
Leah jumped on Nate's back. She was about as happy as she could be. It was sunny without the sun. Perfect. She wore jean shorts, cut by herself, and a bright pink tank top.
"Hey crazy!" She said, her face right next to his.
(Woah! That's what I wore today! Coincidence? I think not!)
((haha nice to know))
Nate moved her off of his back and held her so they were face to face in one swift movement. He smiled,"Hey." His voice soothing.
((I know right!))
Leah felt Nate's arms around her and suddenly she was looking into his eyes. She was startled for a moment, then her expression turned into one of pure joy. Here she was, in his arms, in the sunlight. What more could she wish for?
Leah was lost for words. She smiled and mumbled, somewhat breathlessly, "Whatcha doing?"
He smiled foolishly,"I have no clue." Nate stared back at her with warm eyes
"Good." Leah answered, returning his silly smile. "Because I don't know what I'm doing either!"
As she looked into his eyes, she just about melted. She began to feel warm, all the way through her body. She felt... like a marshmallow.
Nate stared at her for any flickers of emotion. He held her more closely to his body. He leaned in, his face by her ear. "Your beautiful," he whispered
Leah felt Nate pull her closer, and she held on tighter to him. As his face came close to her ear, her heart pounded.
"Your beautiful"
His breath brushed her face, and she could breathe in his scent. She smiled and whispered back, "You're the nicest person I've met in a long time."
A tear seemed determined to find a way to race down her cheek, but she held it back. She didn't want to make Nate think that she was sad, because she hadn't been happier.
Nate still holding her close to his chest looked into her eyes, noticing them almost wet like. "Are you ok my beautiful," he asked softly with concerned eyes.
Leah laid her head on Nate's chest, closing her eyes to make the tears go away. Out of everything that he had said, she only really noticed one word, my.
"How could I not be, when I'm with you?" She asked, hoping that he realized just how much of an understatement that was.
Nate lifted her chin slightly,"Then why are you crying?" He asked softly.
Leah sniffled slightly, the tears now flowing unevenly down her cheeks. She looked into his eyes and said, "Who ever said I was crying?"
Nate smiled lightly and slid his thumb over her cheek wiping away the tears. "I have no idea."
Leah smiled and looked up at him, not knowing what to say. She just wanted him to hold her. If he wanted to talk, she would too. If he didn't, she wouldn't.
"You know what i really want to do right now," he asked her softly. His hand still wrapped around her waist tightly but gently
Leah's heart pounded, her mind racing with ideas. She shook her head no, afraid to speak. She was positive that her voice would crack in excitement.
He looked at her with a nervous smile. He moved forward slightly, his lips bearily brushing Leahs. He turned his hands into fists so Leah couldnt tell he was shaking around her waist.
(I hope I don't break a moment but it does say join if you want. But if you want a few moments alone I can delete my post and wait.)
Isabelle said "Awwww." as she watched the couple from a tree on the border of the forbidden forest. She was wearing a long sleeved purple and grey stripe sweater with jeans and a much longer then sweater sleeves of a light pink shirt, she had her hair in a two braids hanging down from the sides of her face. She also had light pink velvet flats. She had always known that Leah and Nate made perfect couple.
Leah for once didn't notice everything that was going on around her. She didn't see Isabelle, all of her concentration was on Nate.
Leah put her arms around Nate's neck, closing her eyes. She kissed him back, just as softly.
Nate had let go when he noticed movement. But he never moved back. He swaded his feet, a little uncomfortable,"Uh..hey Isabelle." He smiled awkwardly.
Isabelle laughed a small bit and said "Hey Nate, you both know, you guys make a good couple! I would know. It's like Alexis and Hayden. Oops, I wasn't supposed to say that. Don't tell Alexis."
((Hey Nate... you do know that you were holding me right?))
Leah fell to the ground surprised. She sat on the ground, dazed and confused. She looked around for the source of the problem, and her eyes found Isabelle quickly. She sat there in frustration, not sure what else to do.
(remember that Isabelle is in a tree.)
Isabelle saw Jessie's frustrated face, as she saw the source of her falling down on her butt. Isabelle quickly climbed up further into the tree, hoping that these vampires weren't like twilight very strong and fast ones.
Nate looked down dazed. He held his hand out for leah so he could lift her up. "Sorry," he said through worried eyes.
Leah shrugged it off as she took Nate's hand. "It's ok." She said, truthfully. She stood up, brushing herself off.
Nate wrapped his arm around her waist, keeping her close to him. "I just...forgot. sorry babe." He said softly.
Leah's heart skipped a beat. "Don't worry about it... I'm pretty much invincible!" She laughed, smiling up at him.
Nate chuckled,"Yeah well thats good to hear."
Leah punched Nate, relatively hard. "See? You are too!"
She laughed, hugging him around the waist and pressing her face into his chest.
"Ouch hurt me any more," he replied in a muffled voice as he hugged her. A smile on his face.
Leah laughed, smiling. She said, "Oh suck it up! You'll be fine in about... 30 seconds if you aren't already!"
"Your mean," he said softly. He pushed her softly away so he could look at her.
Leah stepped back from Nate, just smiling slightly. She looked up at him questioningly, trying to make him pull her back in just one look.
"Oh really? Why's that?"
(This is Jackie, like Lola_La_Fringe7 Jackie. I had to get a new account thing, so...)
Jackie dropped from a tree ten feet away from them all. For a while now she had been following Leah and Nate, hoping some of the rumors weren't true. Her hopes were dashed. I mean, she expected for there to be a gap between her and Nate since she left so abruptly, but certainly not this.
Her best friend.
Her eyes were desolate and wide as she tried to push the tears back where they belonged before they could spill over. Her mouth opened, but no words came out. She had never had this feeling before and she was shocked she didn't just fall over and die. She wanted to so badly as she turned her eyes toward Nate, questioning, hurt, pain striken.
Isabelle smiled as she saw that the danger had past. But then she looked behind her and saw Jackie? Then realized that Jackie had came back, but then noticed that Jackie had a hurt feeling in her eyes and Isabelle yelled at Leah and Nate, "You guys better break it up! Anyway! Jackie is back!"
Nate turned around fastly, seeing her, the girl he loved. Still loved. He felt the same panged as Jackie did. "Why?" He asked in a hurtful tone, staring at her from a small distance.
"Yeah, they don't have to do anything. Its my fault." Jackie said, looking at Isabel, then Nate. She could feel the sting in his tone. It hurt her, a lot more than she expected it ever would after all the time that had passed.
She cleared her throat and forced a smile, but it crumpled on her face. She couldn't even attempt to fool anyone.
Leah stood near Nate, part of her wanting to step away from him and run to Jackie, the other half wanting to run into Nate's arms. She had loyalties to both of them, but now it seemed that she was stuck in the middle of an awkward love triangle.
She tried to say something, but her mouth just hung open as she glanced back and forth between them. Finally, she managed to choke out ne word.
"Jackie!?"
Jackie smiled, some of her old self returning. "No, its the Queen of England!" She said, with some weird foreign accent that she was pretty sure was totally wrong. It felt good to joke light heartedly. Then she looked at Nate, her face falling and only able to half hold up a smile. "Well, why is a very general question." She said, attempting to keep it light, knowing it would fail in the end.
"Why did I leave? Why did I screw up so bad? Why was there no explanation? Why is the sky blue? Why are my eyes blue?" She offered up. Trailing on when she was nervous was a bad quality of hers. Or... why do I still love you? She thought inwardly. She didn't bother to put gaurds up. Really, who couldn't figure it out?
Leah smiled, but her heart wasn't in it. She knew that nothing would ever be the same. How could it?
She shook her head as she easily read Jackie's mind. ~Don't make it any harder than it already is.~ She thought to Jackie. She knew that Jackie was nervous, so she was bound to trail on. If she started to talk about the wrong things, it would only get harder on all of them.
Nate couldnt help but smile at her rambling but it eventually went away. Nate replied to them outloud, figuring they might as well just talk,"Leah its okay."
He glanced at Leah and then back at Jackie. His hear torn. "Jackie i know all of those answers! Jeez theres only one question that i rlly want the answer from." He took a deep breath taking all of the hurt and angr in. "Why didnt you just tell me that you were leaving?" "Or just calld or txtd or hell even emaild for all i care! just if u did somthing to let me kno."
Leah looked at Nate, surprised. Okay? How was that okay? How was any of this okay?
She watched Nate, as he spoke. She could tell how hard this was for him, and longed to just throw her arms around him and hold him. But she knew she couldn't. Not while Jackie was there. It just wouldn't be right.
Leah looked at Jackie, wondering what she would say. She had wanted this same answer for a long time now.
Jackie took a deep breath, trying to keep herself under control. But she was losing it, she could feel it. "Because, talking to you, hearing your voice, practically coming in any contact with you, it would have made leaving so much da*n harder! Don't you think it was hard enough already?!" She exploded, clenching her fists as a few tears rolled down her face.
"Don't you think it was hard enough leaving the person you loved?! I didn't want to hurt you, but I just couldn't think about you while I was gone, or I would break down and come running back here, putting you all in danger!" She said, on the verge of shouting. She gasped in a few breath amd wiped her tears off her face, turning away from them both. That was a bit more dramatic than Jackie was expecting. She had hoped for more emotional control.
Leah sighed. She couldn't believe how hard it had been for Jackie. She had never realized the magnitude of the pain it had caused her. She looked at Nate, and then at Jackie. Then she walked over to Jackie and put her arm around her shoulder.
"Jackie, I'm so sorry. I can't believe I ever thought that you were leaving for good... and that I made your return so much harder." She removed her arm and walked into the forest.
Nate lookd at Jackie and then Leah and then Jackie again. He felt like a lost puppie. He shook his head, his hair going wherevr it ended up, trying to forget about it.
He wanted them both, both Leah and Jackie. Togethr. He stepped forward and then back, scared. Shuffling his feet where he ended up he said,"I dont know what to do, Jackie. Help me." His eyes looking up at her, pleading.
Jackie stepped forward without hesitation now and wrapped her arms around him securly, falling back into the pattern of how things used to be. He was the same as she remembered, and just the smell of him so close could still put her into a tailspin. "Now, here's how you can make a decision." She murmered, quietly.
Then she mustered all the bravery she had left and stretched up on her toes as she always had to do to make up for the height difference and pressed her lips gently to his. A warmth flooded through her that she had never thought she would feel again and more tears slid from her eyes. Then she pulled back, blushing a shade of rose and looked at him. "Yes, or no?" She asked simply, resting her head on his chest, knowing if the answer were no, she would want to be as close to him as she could be now.
Leah turned around at just the wrong moment. She saw everything. The hug, the kiss, and the ultimatum. It was just too much. Tears fell silently down her cheeks as she watched. She wanted to turn away so bad, but couldn't move. She was frozen to the spot watching.
She had to hear what he said. It was almost mandatory that she know. She wanted to believe that he would pick her, but then again, she wasn't sure. Maybe he wouldn't give her a straight answer. Either way, someone's heart would be broken tonight.
The kiss felt good, warm and welcoming. His heart ripped just a little more if that was possible. His throat burned after, the sadness overwhelming him. His eyes filled with tears as he looked down, feeling his whole body weak.
He brushed his hand against her cheek. Just him and her. He wanted so badly to just pick one but the problem is, which one. Which one did he love more? "I love you Jackie." He sighed,"But i love Leah too."
He said unsertain,"But i cant choose." Tears fell down his cheek,"I dont want to ruin somthing between you guys." He said just above a whisper,"I guess we are all over."
Him and Jackie and him and Leah gone. IT hurt badly to decide with this, all of them hurt, including nate.
"But I love Leah too." Those 5 words cut through the thin strands that she had been clinging to for hope. Jackie pulled out and away from Nate only to lean the upper half of her body in and kiss him again softly. All the memories she had shared with him surrounded her in that moment. It was sheer bliss.
But she had made a decision, and she separated again, blinking up at him. "I love you." She said, closing her eyes for a second, and realized she had never meant anything as much as she did now. Then she smiled, straightening her posture. "I just want to-"
She cut off and paused for a moment before putting her hands on Nate's chest and shoving him so hard she was sure he would stumble back into the shadows. Then she sat on the ground looking immediately preoccupied with her thoughts. Seconds later two men dropped from thin air. One was an extremely handsome vampire. One was a vampire hunter.
"Hello Jackie." The hunter said airily.
She looked up, mimicking surprise at seeing him here. She scrambled to her feet, but didn't run anywhere. She couldn't risk them following her and finding Nate. "What do you want?" She spat.
The hunter was immediately right in front of her, and slapped her across the face so hard than she was lifted off her feet and flung a yard or so away. "Don't talk back to your elder!" He commanded. "And we've only come to finish what we started with you. Or just finish you." He said, laughing at his own joke.
Jackie lay curled on the ground, holding her face delicately. She groaned lightly, determined not to cry. The other person, the vampire, approached her. She was as good as dead and she knew it. Oh god, Nate couldn't see this. Run! She thought heavily blocking her mind. Get out of here now! They won't see you if you hurry. She paused momentarily. If nothing else get out of here for Leah! Go find her and get out of here!
Nate stumbled into the shadows dumbfounded. A woosh came from where Jackie was, he turned his head in time to see the whole smackdown. Nate frowned and imediatly was in his vampire stance. Right then though he heard Jackie, loud and clear. He narrowed his eyes,"I can kill em off before they even find out about Leah." And before Jackie could even think he ran like the wind and in a second was smacked right into the vampire. His eyes black and his fangs slid out. "Get off of her," he growled.
Jackie scrambled to her feet, almost hissing at Nate. "I told you to get out of here!" She said, squaring off with the hunter. She braced herself for thw worst to happen. This man was strong, and evil. She could feel the waves of hostility eminating from him. She darted in to the right for an attack, but his hand made contact with her shoulder, roughly pushing her away and delaying her attack.
She would need help, she knew it. Leah! She thought. If your out there, I need your help!
The vampire that Nate had tackled, hissed and snapped his jaws, while writhing out of Nate's grasp. He pushed Nate's shoulders hard, giving him time to scramble away and to a low crouch. "She's got you wrapped around her tiny finger, doesn't she?" He taunted, spitting. "Everytime we find her, she has some guy trying to be vallient and protect her. Wanna know what happened?" He asked, clearly enjoying toying with Nate's head. "She forgot them and ran, leaving them all for dead."
Jackie was too far away to hear the jeers the vampire was spitting and even if she did hear, she couldn't really do anything. She leaped at the hunter, but his hand flashed forward and hit her ribs at the last second. All the air whooshed out of her body and she stumbled backwards, gasping. LEAH! She screamed mentally.
Nate stared at the hunter, his anger building up more and more. "F*ck you," he growled. He dodged himself back at the man with such hostility that he knew he wouldnt be able to control himself if needed to. His body slammed hard with such a loud noise it sounded like a explosion, bone rubbing bone.
Before Jackie had even called her, Leah was running towards the fight. She swung herself up into the trees, circling around to where the hunter was. She looked around to make sure that he was the only one and then threw herself out of the tree. Leah was known for her more... unconventional methods of fighting.
It's my turn Nate. Move! Leah thought as she sailed toward the hunter. She slammed into his back and wrapped her legs tightly around his stomach. One hand covered his eyes while the other arm wrapped tight around the hunter's chest. She would not, and could not, be flung off of him.
