Astraea sat out by the lake. She had a small fire glowing on the ground. *This is amazing* she thought to herself. She was finally able to practice her powers and she was getting fire down pretty good. She loved being alone and playing wither her powers. Her green see through wings were stretched out as far as they would go. She smiled and put the fire out as she got an idea. She raised her hands and pulled the ground up and covered the fire putting it out.
Astraea stood up and looked all around her. As she maybe sure no one was around her, her wings began to move then started to flutter, and her body lifted off the ground a few inch's. She smiled and once again looked around. "No one" she said softly to herself and let out a small giggle. She began to lift up higher and higher, and soon was about seventeen feet above the ground. She could see part of the castle and all of the lake.
She flew towards the lake. Astraea looked down and could see things moving quickly through the water. Astraea flew closer to the water and let her finger tips touch the top. She began to slowing raise up when she saw something big coming towards the surface. Alarmed Astraea flew faster and higher. She stopped to take a breath, and she felt something wet and scaly wrap around her right foot. Scared she began to fly higher and higher trying to get the tentacle off of her. She began to scream for help and realized no one was around. Slowly, but surely she was getting pulled down closer to the water. The closer she got the bigger the squid got.
Astraea started to throw her hands up towards the air, like it was something to hang on to. Suddenly flame flew out one of her hands and she felt slightly relived. She was only a feet feet away from the water, and Astraea began shooting flames at the squids tentacle. She got a good hit on it and it let go and sunk down to the bottom of the lake.
She pointed her toes and put her hands flat against her sides and began to fly off towards the shore. She had tears falling from her eyes, and she was still slightly terrified. After a few minutes she landed on shore and sat down in the sand far away from the water. She pulled her small legs up to her chest and wrapped her arms around them. "That was way scarier then the dragons" She said out loud.
Astraea calmed herself down slightly and stood up. She knew that wasn't the way the squid normally acted, and was determined to find out what was controlling it. Astraea turned quickly towards the forest. She heard laughing, then she turned the other way and heard the crunching of leaves walking towards her at a hurried paste. She put her hands up and got into some sort of stance. "Who's there?" she yelled loudly.
