Trent wandered in the Gryffindor commonroom.
So many familiar faces. But none his friend.
He wondered if he'd ever find a new friend in his house.
Lately he seemed to be making friends with otherstudents in Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff.
Maybe when the time was right, though.
He had an ability and he used it well, reading minds, he was the only one in his family that could do this.
He thought about what people were saying about him in their head.
It made him want to hurt them but he kept himself in the chair.
Maybe he needed fresh air. He opened a window and looked outside. It was chill, the way he liked it.
He wished the gossiping about him would stop.
But it never would and he knew that but he still wished.
The breeze was nice, his hair swayed as it touched him.
It wasn't that bad now, feeling the fresh air cleared his mind.
He saw people wandering around the outside.
Trent thought he should go to the Lake and splash in the water, he did have a fear of it, but now he seemed really good at swimming now.
He wandered for a bit, thinking.
Mmm, yeah he should go.
He turned around and one step a a time walked towards the exit of the commonroom.
But before he reached the exit, someone came in.
"Hey, watch it!" he said kindly but a stern tone in his voice.
Jessie squeaked in surprise as she almost ran into a boy. His voice startled her out of her determined walk. She nearly dropped the stack of books she had gotten from the library, but caught most of them. The topmost book slipped off before she could move to catch it. It clattered to the floor, flopping over the boy's foot.
"Oh, sorry!" She said. Jessie shifted the books in her arms to try and allow herself to bend over to pick up the unruly book that had leaped from her stack. With her tongue stuck out in concentration, she began to lower herself towards the book.
Trent saw how much the girl had been struggling and picked up the book for her.
"Here" he offered her the book kindly.
"You must have hit the jackpot" he said smartly.
