Dear Journal,
This is my first day to write on these blank parchment papers. I hope to confide in this journal, everything. I am Leigh :-X, a second year at Hogwarts, School of Magic. I am 13 and one-half years old and devastated at recent news of Owen Whitley's new girlfriend. She is, "Absolutely georgeous-bright blue eyes, light brown hair, and tall." I, dear journal, am none of those things. I am very short, with greenish eyes that look like the forest at dawn (words of comfort from my freinds, Lilly and Faith), and l o n g blonde hair. So, you see, the fact that I have loved Owen since I first met him, at the train station, makes naught of difference. Owen, 14 and one-half, is taller than me, and strong-VERY strong, with deep brown eyes and stark blonde hair. What on earth would HE want with ME?!? I must rest now, for crying all night has worn me out. True, my tears have stopped flowing all together, but I fear death, for my heart has been ripped into millions of unfixable pieces. I wonder who that girl is...I swear to find out who the cause of my current miser is.
In tears,
Leigh
