The forest.
The big green forest, where students really can't be.
Where werewolves are said to live, where unicorns live, where even a tribe of gigantic spiders,
live, in the forest, making it dangerous for students to wander there, even though, no one, had been attacked in a long time, so the forest had been suggested safe, thanks to Ginny, the one that had 'tamed'
the creatures inside, becoming their friend, and making the forest safe.
" CRAP! WHY CAN'T I DO IT PROPERLY!" The angry voice was resounding through the forest, making all of the birds fly up to the sunny sky, making a big black storm of birds.
Albus was sitting on the ground, in the middle of the forest, completely alone.
The orange t-shirt he was wearing, was covered with small ice shards, from attempting on his new experiment. His face, was also covered by ice shards, but, those who were there, was covering his eyes, blindfolding him. He was aggravated, mad, and extremely inpatient.
" I'll just stop now..." Albus got up, and with a clap, his blind fold, and all the other ice on him, disappeared.
" Who's there?!" Albus said angrily. The sound of a twig that had broken, had come from behind one of the trees. He took his stance, while he asked, yet again, while fures in his forehead popped up, " WHO'S THERE?!" Being paranoid, he thought of Chad. He readied himself completely, being ready, ready to do something big.
Stacey stepped out from behind the tree. "Hey, it`s just me. You don`t have to make me an ice block." She said with laughter in her voice. "Cool experiment, nice try." She said leaning against the tree. "But what exactly where you trying to do?"
"Something that he probably shouldn't be doing, I suspect, "Lavy said, coming silently out of the trees as well. She made a mental note that she was going to teach Stacey to walk silently in the woods. It came in handy a lot.
The sweet sound of Stacey's voice reached his ears, and he relaxed.
He sat down, on both knees, feeling a bit tired. " I was trying out something new, that I, myself,
-I know I'm brilliant-" Albus chuckled, then continued, " Got the idea, that while I am in a battle, I could teleport myself around the place where the battle is going on!"
The grin of his was his own. Happy, sly, and he had a look on his face, telling everyone else, he was out to prank. " Well. What I plan on, is, that I make some ice around my eyes, then, I make a small fragment of ice, where I wanna teleport to, then, I think of the place where the chip of ice is, and see it through the ice, and go there! It's really coool." Albus got up again, his grin faded, while he clapped his hands.
" Let me show you." A layer of this ice, covered is eyes, while they was open. You could see through the ice. Then, behind Stacey, right in the wood of the tree, appeared a snowball. Suddenly, Albus, disappeared, and, re appeared right behind Stacey, being really close to her, his face, right into her hair.
He got away, clapped his hands yet again, and sat down, to wait for Stacey's responce, and, to rest.
" Cool, huh? " He grinned, and waited for Stacey's responce. Once again, he sat down,
Albus's gaze wondered over to Lavy, suddenly noticing the woman, that he was sitting right next to.
He jerked his head, " Wah!" being surprised. " Thank God.... It's only you Lavy.. I didn't notice you before now.."
He let out a sigh, being bored.
Stacey smiled. "Do you like my shampoo?" She asked jokingly. "And I can walk through a forest, Lavy." She added smiling at her. "Albus, that was really cool."
Lavy crossed her arms, "Wel that display you just showed wasn't to convincing. He didn't even notice me until just now," She pointed out.
((we should wait))
" Sorry Lavy! I'm a tad tired. Snape has already given us tons of homework, now, giving us the excuse, 'You are second graders. If I really wanted to give you homework I'd double it. This, is nothing!' " Albus said, impersonating Snape, with his sleevy voice, and, he was pointing his face up in the air, his nose, nearly being the top of his body.
He turned to his usual self, and got up. " Describe more, Lavy?" He smiled to her, talking in Snape accent, while wanting to pull a joke.
Stacey laughed. "You? Tired? No!" She grinned at Albus. "How can that be?"
Jessie skipped out from behind the trees. *I knew it was colder here!* She exclaimed happily. *I kept telling my sister that there was a patch of colder air that must be because of you, but she didn't believe me!* Jessie turned and screamed back into the forest, *HE'S HERE!* You could hear a faint laugh in the distance.
Jessie smiled and turned, noticing the small crowd for the first time. *Hey!* She said, *What's going on!?*
Stacey laughed. "You always know how to make an entrance."
Jessie smiled and said, *Thanks! It's what I do!*
Albus grinned. " Hi Jessie!" Blushing slightly, feeling ticklish in his stomach.
He turned to Stacey. " She's really good with the entrances. You don't know how she's come into some things..." His chuckle was light, full of joy. The anger he'd felt for five minutes ago, had vanished, by the apprearance of his friends.
Stacey smiled. "I`m sure I`ll see plenty of her entrances." She said jokingly.
Jessie sensed something strange about how Albus was acting, but she didn't dwell on it. *You definitely will see more entrances, that's for sure!*
"Much better than exits." Cody seemingly appeared from nowhere, behind and slightly to the right of Jessie. He was smiling, an unusual thing for him. But he simply loved Albus, and considered him like an older brother. His black hair was messed up from flying, his wings were folded elegantly behind him. His pale cheeks were flushed with happiness and the left over excitement from his flight.
Not to mention having shown up just in time to see Albus's new trick.
He smiled at Jessie, obviously in a happy mood. He bowed slightly at her, at Lavy, and then at Stacey.
"Las Signoras." He said, grinning. He turned to Albus, his ice blue eyes wide.
"Can you show me that trick? It's really awesome!"
*Hola Cody!* Jessie said, surprised to see him, but overjoyed that he knew spanish. Her spanish came easily, and she immediately changed into her slight spanish accent. *Tu hablas mucho espanol?*
" HI Cody!" Albus said happily. ~ Who's the next dear frind that's coming?~He asked to himself, and chuckled.
Once again, he got up. Looking at Cody, he said " Can't you do that same trick as well with some other magic?" frowning. He turned to Jessie, " Si! Umh.. I hablas musso ekspanjol! Grinning, he leaned against a tree.
Cody shook his head, "No. Italiano, Signora." Still he grinned. Italian, Spanish and French were the three major Roman languages, which meant they were easy to figure out if you knew one.
He shook his head at Albus, "I can't do it, and I've never seen anyone else do it. At least, not like that. My mom can transport instantly, but she learned that through Time control...my Dad can do it too, but I dunno how he learned it." He shrugged but still grinned.
"How does it work again? Would you teach me it?"
*Lo siento Senor* She said, still in spanish, knowing that he would understand. *Oh Albus teach me too!* She said, enthusiastically.
"Yeah Albus show us how you did it" Billie said, as she came falling to the ground, but ending up landing gracefully on her feet. She had fallin asleep in a nearby tree and woke up as people started to appear. Billie walked over to where they were standing and just stood there.
Albus saw Billie, and nodded to her, mouthing, " HI!"
He started to explain, " I make myself some glasses of ice, then, makes a fragment of ice where I wanna teleport to. The problem is that the fragment needs to be as small as possible, so that people don't know where I'm going. Then, I imagine the sight, and the place where the fragment is, and imagine myself going there. Then, I teleport. It's that easy. The hard thing is to make the fragment of ice small"
He grinned, and watched out to the forest. " HI Billie!"
Stacey wiggled her fingers in a wave to both Cody and Billie. "Do you think it would wirk if you used fire instead?" She asked Albus.
"Heya Albus" She said and waved slightly to Stacey.
" Yeah, Stacey. I think that it will work with every element."
Albus grinned, while he stared out in the forest, thinking about nothing.
He was bored, tired, and hungry.
Once again, he shifted, now leaning on his left foot.
Cody frowned, "Details...I'm not very good at those." He walked up to Albus, smiling as he nodded.
"I need to practice then." He laughed, reaching out and poking Albus's arm, "You should teach me!"
He grinned, he was only half joking with the older boy. His mother had taught him the basics of all the elements, which was more than most could do. But she had yet to begin intense instruction into each one.
Billie just stood there an smiled as they talked. She had no elemental powers, so she had nothing to learn.
" Sure Cody, but it's really not so much to practise about. I've already taught you the basics! It's nothing more with that, I think!" Albus smiled. He talked really fast, while he looked around, on his friends, in the forest, and he looked at his hands.
Jessie smiled and said, *Oh come on Albus! Teach us! Even if it is just review!*
"Ah, not now " Albus said, and yawned. " What to do, what to do..." He said, and looked to each other of them.
"Can't you just show us a little bit of what you did?" Billie said speaking up after a little while.
"Yea, Albus, just do some of your tricks." Stacey chimed in. "Show us what you can do."
Cody reached out, grabbing Albus's hand.
"It's ok, if you don't want to you don't have to."
He was the most excited by the prospect, but he also knew that having people badger you to do things was annoying. He smiled up at the older boy, stepping casually into the role of a child, such as he was. Problem was, he knew more and possessed more power than anyone standing in that circle. And nobody, not even Cody himself, knew it.
"Why don't we go do something else?"
(( Thank you Gin. I was stuck....))
" Well I don't know..." Albus smiled down to Cody. He really was a cool and special kid.
He made himself a baby voice, and lowered himself to his knees, Cody's level.
" What should we dooo?" He said, teasing Cody a bit of his age, then grinning to him, indicating the joke.
Now, seriously he asked, " Where to go then?"
Billie shrugged her shoulders. "I don't mind anywheres fine with me where ever you guys chose" she said.
Cody playfully pushed Albus, laughing as he did a silly impression. Cody had never spoken with a lisp, had always articulated his words perfectly. Albus's baby voice seemed out of place in the child's life.
"Let's go play see the wolves. My mom said there's a new litter of pups."
Albus laughed when Cody talked. It seemed so unfitting on him, seemed so abnormal, for Cody to talk like that, while pushing him, that he had to laugh a bit. Even though he was a five year old, his eyes had an older, a more intelligent look, making him look more adult, than eleven year old students, that just had started the at Hogwarts. Being pushed by Cody, he stopped laughing, whilst he turned to the others.
"Arrr ya commin' arrr no'?" His tones was dark, and the scottish accent, wasn't completely perfect,
as there was sounds, he couldn't use in Scottish. Feeling light at heart, he started running.
Turning back as the winds made his hair fly, he screamed to Cody, " I'LL RACE YA NOW!" Grinning big.
Stacey laughed and jogged after Albus. "Where are you going?" She yelled, she didn`t understand what 'the wolves' were.
Jessie sprinted after Albus, her feet moving swiftly and smoothly across the rough terrain. Years of cross country helped her to slowly gain on Albus. Her arms pumped, and she tried to regulate her breathing. Leaping over a log, she extended her front legs as she used to in hurtles, and continued to gain on Albus.
Cody watched them run, not too worried as they all raced off. Next thing anyone knew, Cody had jumped up, shooting straight into the air. He unfurled his wings, the vanished state disappearing immediately. He was above the group of students within moments, keeping speed easily.
He was hardly going as fast as he could.
Everyone had taken off running and now Cody was flying. Billie smiled and began to jump from tree to tree and was soon barely infront of the Albus, Jessie, and Stacey.
Cody was speeding over Albus, and he looked up. Already, the others was cathcing up on him, panting, he screamed, " CHEATERS!!" To Cody high above and to Bille. Under his feet, ice sprung, making he speed up.
Ice skates appeared on his feet, and a field of ice appeared, as he travelled further into the forest.
Smiling to himself, a great sensation was filling him. His friends, bringing in the good feelings, that only a good friend could bring. The wind was playing with his hair, while he sped up even more.
Jessie slipped on the ice, but managed to stumble off of it. She ran on solid ground now, trying to think of a way to catch up with the others. She glanced up at the tree nearest to her and a branch shot down, grabbing her and tossing her through the air, when another one caught her.
"Useing our abilities isn't cheating" Billie said and began running at her top speed.
Cody kept up easily, swooping in between and around them all. Then, abruptly, he landed, running to keep from falling. He stopped then, and held out his arms, a signal for the rest to stop.
"Careful. If we come at them going like that, they'll rip us apart."
Albus stopped, fearing to get attacked by the wolves.
He'd always had something up with dogs and creatures with sharp teeth, since he had been bitten when he was four. Negative, was he, but he had been around the wolves of the forest before, so,
he wasn't so afraid. And he had Cody, Jessie, Billie and Stacey with him, so, what was it to be afraid of?
Stacey stopped running and looked at Albus. "Are you okay?" She asked, not sure what was wrong. She leaned against a tree to help catch her breath.
The tree that had Jessie currently bent, and sent her flying sideways. She curled in a ball and rolled in an attempt to stay unharmed. She got up, bruised as usual and walked over to the others. Putting her hand on her hips she wheezed, *Let's walk the rest of the way....*
"Sounds good to me" Billie said as she leaned on a near by tree.
*Good....* Jessie said, still out of breath. She was about to say more, when she decided against it, due to her temporary speaking handicap.
