Jessie climbed off of the hot train and immediatley stepped into a large puddle getting the bottom of her new robes wet and muddy. *Aw great now look at what I did!* Jessie said. stepping away from the train. She followed the crowds to some boats that did not look very sturdy to her. she climbed into one anyways. Soon her boat was full and was being moved by some force that she couldn't identify.
She tapped the leader of the boat on the shoulder. *Excuse me, but what is causing this boat to move? I mean, if it's not being moved by anything, then it goes against Newton's laws of motion. If I'm not mistaken it goes against the second law most directly!* She pushed her glasses farther up onto her nose, as they had started to slip down. After receiving nothing more than a glare from the leader she sat back with a *Hmph!*
Sarah smiled as she sat next to this girl. "You must be a muggleborn. I mean all ones that know about wizards know that it magic."
Sarah was confortable. She always rode in the boat with the frist years. "Don't worry. I don't think your stupid. I mean I was in your shoes about 2 years ago." Sarah then giggled. "I'm Sarah jones. A muggle born to."
Albus was also in the same boat as he had met Jessie on the train.
He just looked on Jessie rolling his eyes, when she started about Newton's law of motion.
~Haven't she gotten that she is going to a magic school?~ he thouhgt to himself.
He looked at the older girl, now talking, and smiled at her.
" I'm pretty used to magic. Half blood. But I don't really care how your bloodline is. Everyone is human."
He said and looked at both of them. " Haven't you tryed your wand yet Jessie?" He asked.
Sarah then smiled. She could tell that this albus was going to be a cool kid.
"YA you might want to know what your magic wand does. I mean you would hate it if you were doing a spell and it back fired." She then leaned back and went to think about sleeping.
"Albus you will be cool to. I mean your one of those that don't care about blood you will have friends."
*Magic? Really? Glory I am running into that alot here... and I wouldn't dare try out my magikc wand in front of you... it would makke you to jealous of my skills!!!* Jessie laughed and smiled big *And I don't mean to come of snobby... first of all... these glasses, I'm onl;y wearing them because we were traveling, aand it's never a good idea to travel in your contacts. At least that's whaat my mom says* Jessie looked around and saat back more comfortably in the seat.

" Well... My family don't care about blood. My mom is full blood but dad is half."
" Well I have never tryed contacts before." Albus said and took his glasses of and just looked at them.
" Aren't they a muggle invention?" He asked Jessie and Sarah.
Albus looked around. At the big castle who seemed pretty old in the darkness, with its lights windows and towers, but he couldn't see the school grounds. Then he took his glasses on again then looking at the same things that now, was different. Everything was now sharper than when he didn't had his glasses on.
Sarah smiled at that. She could tell they would be friends.
"Yes they are. I mean if one of the few things that magic has taken and not changed. I mean I have a pair to. I know that you guys don't know what house you are in but so you know. I'm a Ravenclaw so if you need anything tell me." Sarah then laughed at a thought that had come into her head. She was thinking about how she was sitting there telling them about her life aleast some of it.
" Well I know what house I'm going to come in... Pretty sure. Gryffindor for me! Everyone in my family has been to gryffindor. Have you heard about the houses Jessie?" Albus said.
It was interesting to meet other people and talk to others than his old friends and the ones in his family.
He looked at all the other boats, seeing all the people just staring at the castle.
Albus noticed that they was the only people that talked.
Sarah then smiled. "Don't worry about being the only one talking. I mean it it nothing."
Sarah then decided to sit up. "Most of the peopled have not expect a place this big when reading about it or looking at pictures. THat cool I mean Gyffindors a great house. I would have been in that but when I frist came I was as scared as a turkey before thanksgiving." Sarah let her texas US side slip.
Jessie said *Haha that's pretty funny... mum would like that one... oh and about the contacts being a muggle invention, I don't really care because my mum's a muggle, dad's a wizard so I don't really care.* Jessie said in her thick australian accent. *Albus, do you know any spells? Because I do, my dad taught me before I came so that I would fit in.* Jessie said smiling
Sarah laughed at the two newbies and then smiled. She wanted to tell them that it did not matter if you did not know anything but she did not have the heart to do it. Sarah then looked at Hogwarts as it came closer into view.
"Yes I'm finally home." Sarah had not thought about the others maybe hearing her.
Jessie heard Sarah and her mouth burst into activity. *Your home? Really? Wow that means that you were born here, and that your parents are here... are they teachers? that would be weird I bet you get in for free... my parents are paying a fortune for me to go here,. and want me to marry a wizard so that we can have magical children, but that's thinking ahead WAY to much for me!!!* Jessie sat back tired and pulled a chocolate bar out of her robes. She unwrapped it and offered it to the others.
Sarah looked at her and then smiled.
"no that not what I ment." Sarah then looked at her and sat up. She was thinking of a way to talk to them.
"I am a muggle born and my parents don't really like me so on vacations they leave and then keep me alone at our house. I was saying this was my home because I feel like I belong and that for the frist time in my likfe truely loved." Sarah then shut her eyes and whipped away a tear.

As the boats arrived on shore, two women were waiting. One was Professor McGonaglle, and older woman with gray hair and emerald robes. The other was much younger, no older than 17. She had bright red hair, making her stick out and grab the attention of many of the new arrivals. She wore black robes that seemed to fit her form, while at the same time weren't unflattering.
Ginny Weasly stood with her arms folded, watching the students. She recognized Sarah almost immediately, having helped the poor kid out last year. But she didn't recognize anyone else. That would make sense though, wouldn't it? They were all first years.
Ginny clapped her hands to get everyone's attention.
Sarah smiled as she looked at Ginny. She had helped her out so much last year. SHe knew that with out her they might not have been able to make it through the year. She stayed sitting though because she did not want to set a bad example for the younger ones. She wanted to be more like the peer mentors. The one that showed them what to do.
*Hi there Ginny have a nice break* Sarah sent her with her powers knowing better then to talk out loud.
Jessie saw the tear but didn't say anything about it. *Oh... that makes sense... Who's that!?* Jessie asked trying to keep her voice low, and failing. *Their hair...it's SO RED! I love it!* Jessie couldn't wait to get out of the boats because the shore was so near. She sat on her hands in order to keep from jumping out and swimming the rest of the way. Her nerves were jumpy, but she tried to keep them under control.
Albus looked at the two womans, and reacted a bit more laid-back than Jessie.
He didn't say a thing but he thouhgt that that hair really was red.
But Albus had to do something out of the situation. He had to make a joke about Jessie.
" If the hair had been any more red Jessie would probably had killed herself...." As he started to chuckle.
His nerved was starting to come, feeling a weird tingeling in his stomach.
" Whooh.." He whispered to himself, as he closed his eyes, trying to overcome his nerves that was developing into a fear. What if he didn't come into Gryffindor? What if he was placed in Slytherin!
Sarah looked at both of them. She was shocked most of the student that came here were not at all this talkative. She could not believe it. She then rubbed the back of her neck she knew that this might not be a good things for them to do since the teachers were trying to get there attention. Sarah then hit Jesse in the gut with her elbow and looked at her.
"Shh you don't want to be in trouble before you even start." she wispered.
Ginny nodded at Sarah and smiled slightly. She was an over worked teacher, to be sure. But she still knew how to smile. She let her smile shine on a few others.
She really was pretty in an astonishing way.
As the students filed out of the boats and stood looking at her and McGonagell, Ginny shifted her weight anxiously. She knew these students already. She knew their names, their pasts, their desires. She was known for getting information and quickly. But she knew nothing that they hadn't told others. She knew nothing that couldn't be backed up. People scared Ginny more than anything. But she was brave. She had been in Gyffindor after all.
The assistant headmistress cleared her throat, "Welcome to Hogwarts, students. Professor Weasly and I will escort you to the Great Hall in a few moments to be sorted into your houses."
Here, Ginny began to speak, her voice soft but full of power and hidden energy. "There are four houses. Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff. The house into which you are sorted says a lot about yourself. Stuff you will discover in your time with us." Hope for the future.
The elder nodded, "Please follow us, and be organized about it." She half snapped, her brisk manner overcoming her warmth. But both of them smiled at the students.
Children are the future.
Sarah knewing that she was not suppose to be in there line took of in a different direction and started towards the Great Hall. Sarah knew that there we a flaw in her plan though. She had walked by the lake and that was not the best thing to her to do. She smiled as she sat down and just stared at it.
"For the frist time in a while I fill like I'm at home. I mean the smell of the lake even make me miss everything." Sarah then leaned back and looked at the sky. She smiled even better as her eye glossed over with happy tears. She loved laying out her just looking at the sky and having the grass against her skin.
"I'm so glad to be back."
Albus got in a line, at the end of it. He looked at all the others noticing that he was the least nervous kid there. With that in his mind, he relaxed a bit more, knowing he really didn't have anything to be nervous about. He looked at professor Weasly and at the other teacher.
He started to walk in the line. He still had some nerves, but now he was more calm and relaxed.
Some other kids started to talk about the houses, and where they hoped to be.
Those who was muggle born, asked all the others how the houses was.
Albus thinked about what his older brother had told him about the election.
If he came into Slytherin, would he really be kicked out of the school, AND family?
And he wondered how he would be picked out. Was he really going to do an extremely hard test with his knowledge of magic? He did know about some spells, but that was just something he randomly had picked up. He took a piece of his hair behind his ears. A bad habit along with eating hair.
Pig sat in the grate hall at the teachers table, she looked down at the students all chatting away. pig could not wait for the sorting, it was her favorite part. New student she remembered how scared she was when she got sorted.
((*glomps Pig*))
Upon reaching the Great Hall, McGonaglle produced a list of the new students name from nowhere. Everyone was silent, staring at the first years with amusement.
Ginny stood by the sorting hat, that tattered old thing. It didn't sing to the school this time, it said nothing. Ginny had asked it not to this year, and it had agreed.
Now, it moved slightly, it's invisible eyes studying the students it was about to sort into the four houses.

Pig starried at the old sorting hat, it had been a long time since she had put that hat on her head. To Pigs ammuisment it still looked as patchy and old as ever.
Sarah deciding that she wanted to see where her new friends were to be placed stood up and headed back inside. She walked threw the doors right before it closed and sat down at the edge of the Ravenclaw table and smile. She knew that no one saw her come in.
*I hope that they are happy where ever they are put. I mean I am* Sarah then looked forward and smiled looking at the old hat she had put on the year before. She was sort of sad that it did not sing a song but she could get over it. It was still kicking though. She watched as Ginny and McGonaglle started to sorting. She then smiled as she saw Pig up there.

Albus looked at all the other students of the school. Now his nerves really started to show.
He looked at the teachers table, and at a weird old hat. He wondered what it did there.
He studyed it for a while, then taking a little notice on what that Weasly and the older woman.

Pig noticed Sarah and smiled back. She watched as the students got sorted.

Sarah smiled as the then saw how nervous Albus was getting. She knew that was how she felt last year and was glad that it was over. She could now just sit back and watch and then smiled when someone was sorted into her house.
*I wish he would calm down. I mean it not that bad. * Sarah thought to herself then looked at the hat some more.
Jessie waited nervously, trying to stop shaking. She looked around and waited for the sorting to start.
((Jessie, whats your last name? Albus, yours is Potter, right?))
Ginny helped the students put the hat on their heads as McGonagell called out the kids names. There were dozens of Hufflepuffs, Slytherins, and Ravenclaws, but so far, only a few Gryffindors. Ginny wondered how many of these kids had what it takes to be in her old house.

Jessie waited and watched as kids took their seats at their cheering table. She couldn't wait to figure out what house that she would be in. She wanted to hear what the hat had to say to her.

Albus looked around, waiting for his turn. He saw this Jessie in the crowd with first graders. He hadn't seen her since they had been in the boats. He hoped he should get some new friends in the new house.
He saw some of those he had seen in the boats, beeing sorted out. He noticed that one table, a table with red decorations, had many empty seats. He wondered what house it was.
Jessie spotted Albus in the crowd. She moved over to where he stood. *I'm so nervous!* she whispered. She looked at the red table too. It was really empty. *I wonder what table that is* Jessie whispered to Albus pointing at the table.
" yeah.. Its really empty. But I don't know what house it is. " Albus whispered a bit anxiously.
He looked around, waiting for his turn to go up with the chair, and being elected into a house.
He started to trip with his feet. He felt like he could run around the school five times, but he wasn't going to do it.
Jessie rocked anxiously backward and forward on her feet. *I'm so nervous!* She whispered waiting to be called for sorting. One by one the crowd of newbies was getting smaller.

"Hughes, Jessica." McGonaglles voice spoke Jessie's name easily. She had long ago mastered the art of monotone. But for some reason, Ginny's ears perked up. She knew to trust her intuition. This Jessica Hughes would be much more known around Hogwarts than the girl thought now.
Interested, for some odd reason, Ginny carefully delved into the girls topmost thoughts. worries about which house...friendship to the boy beside her...a growing need to be wanted at this place.
Common thoughts for firsties.
Still, Ginny decided to keep her ears out for little Jessie. And the boy beside her.
Sarah smiled as she sat there. She knew by just talking to this girl that she would most likly get into the house she wanted. Sarah then let her eyes drop to the table in front of her. She then let one single tear fall.
"I hope they are happy. I mean Ravenclaws a great place but I just wish I had more friends in it that understood me." Sarah wisperred under her breathe before looking back up at them to see what was going to happen.
Albus looked at Jessie with big eyes. " GO UP!" He whispered fast.
He hoped that Jessie would come into the same house as him.
She seemed like a good friend. He tripped with his feet, waiting nervously at his turn.
He took a quick look around again, to check if he could see Sarah.
He looked at all of the tables, but he couldn't find her. Then he looked up at the chair and Jessie.
As soon as Jessie heard her name, her throat closed up and she felt like she was gonna faint. She walked up to the chair, and tripped and fell on her face. She lifted herself up, her face was beet red. She sat on the chair and put the hat on her head. She closed her eyes. She couldn't stand to look at anyone, she was so embaressed.
Ginny didn't laugh at Jessie, she was one of the minority however. The room filled with sounds of laughter, from gentle chuckles to snickers. But Ginny did nothing about it, nor any other teacher. The hat remained silent until each students had stopped giggling and proceeded to sit nicely.
In Jessie's ear, it spoke softly. Only loud enough for her to hear, "Jessica, hmm? Tripping didn't exactly show much of your state of balance, but getting back up showed me exactly where you belong." It suddenly shouted out, "Gryffindor!"
Jessie jumped and her eyes popped open... She didn't know it would talk!! When it shouted Gryffindor she jumped up and put the hat on the stool and whispered *Thank you!* She ran and sat down at her new house table.
Albus saw Jessie ran by, he smiled, and hoped he would come in the same house as he would.
He then looked up at the teachers, the hat, and the people next to him, waiting for his turn, nervously.
Jessie was chatting with the kind people around her, when everyone hushed because the next name was about to be announced.
*Betcha it'll be a gryfindor* said a boy next to her
*Betcha it'll be a hufflepuff* A girl diagonal from her said.
* I think it's gonna be a slytherin* Jessie said, and immediatley everyone near her stuck out their tongue and pointed to it. Jessie giggled.

"Potter, Albus Severus." The entire hall became deadly quiet, then whispers broke out. Potter? How was he related to the Potter? Harry was only 18, maybe 19? What the heck?
Ginny looked right at Albus and smiled, beckoning with her hand. Come on, get it over with.
When Albus heard his name he smiled bigtime. But on his way up he noticed that the room was dead quiet. He looked behind him seeing lots of people whispering about his name.
He felt like a stone fell into his stomach, making him feel pretty unwell.
He sat down and got the hat on. He was pretty surprised when it talked to him.
he heard what he said and waited for its decision.
Sarah smiled. She knew that since he was related to Harry Potter the famous wizard that they would be quiet once she heard the name. Sarah then stood up in the back of the room where she was sitting and leaned againist the wall. She was doing this to show him she did not care what his last name was she would not treat him differently. She then looked up at him and gave him the thumbs up.
Sarah then mouthed to him. *Good luck. I know you will get in the house you want*
Jessie whispered, *That's my friend!He's for sure going to be in gryffindor, if he's not he'll probably die!*
