Year 7 END GAME
Ch 1 The Return to school
"You got all your things, Harry?" Asked Sirius. "We're leaving to drop you two off at the Wesley's in half an hour."
Mrs. Weasley agreed to take Harry and his sister, Kiara, for the last two weeks of vacation and to see them off to school. Sirius had business to attend to out of town and couldn't put it off. All Harry and Kiara knew, was that Professor Dumbledore had asked him to come.
"Where's Kiara, is she ready?" Asked Sirius, although he knew the answer as soon as it had escaped from his lips.
"Never mind, I'll go get her myself."
He walked out back to the cemetery and sure enough, Kiara was there, saying good-bye to Draco.
"Kiara, I'm sorry, we have to go --" Sirius said quietly.
Kiara turned a now, tear stained face to him.
"I know, it's just ---"
Kiara had been out to visit his grave every day since the funeral.
"You'll be alright. Some time away from him is what you need." He said, giving her a half smile.
Sirius held his hand out to her. Kiara took it and stood up. Then she looked one last time at his grave.
"You're right, lets go."
Sirius put his arm around her shoulder and they walked back to the house.
(talking to self)
I'm not gonna say bump I'm not gonna say bump...
BUMP!
(LOl, thanks, I'll be writng more at a later time)
wow...siruis is till alive!!! Draco is dead! Wow ....thats diffrent!!
Half an hour later, Harry and Kiara found themselves standing in the Weasley house in front of their fireplace.
"Welcome back Harry!" Cried Mrs. Weasley, giving him a great hug. "And Kiara, nice to see you dear." Mrs. Weasley hugged her as well.
Ron came flying into the room.
"Hey Harry! Up for some flying later? Mum just bought me a new broom."
Harry smiled.
"Sure --"
Ron had already turned his attention to Kiara. He hadn't seen her since, Harry and Kiara's Birthday. Neither said anything, there was an awkward silence then, Mrs. Weasley smiled.
"Go on Ron, you've done nothing but talk about her since you got back. Now you stand there gaping at her like she was some untouchable object. Honestly, I'll leave the room."
Mrs. Weasley laughed as she drug Harry out of the room with her.
"Err-hum, hi, Kiara." Ron said, he had turned red at his mothers' words.
Kiara smiled.
"Hi Ron, how you been?"
Ron didn't answer. He walked over and started kissing her. That kiss, lasted a very long time. When they finally did part, Ron smiled.
"I missed you." He said simply.
"Ya, I missed you too." Kiara replied, she was now smiling.
"Ready to go and join the others?" Ron asked, kissing her cheek.
"Ya, I think I am." Ron took her hand and they walked out to the garden were the others were setting up the two long tables for dinner.
(Ok, I figured thet perhaps I should finish this book off. Iknow it's been a long tome but seeing as though it's the final book in my trillogy, I thought maybe, I should.)
It had been a particularly long night, Kiara, Ron and Harry had to sit through all sorts of questions surrounding both the death of Draco and every one wanted to hear Kiara's opinions surrounding Voldem0rts disappearance. Harry helped out as much as he could and Ron made sure he glared at every one each time they asked a particularly hard question about Draco's demise.
"It's alright Ron, they need to know exactly what happened." Kiara had told him, knowing that he too had no desire to relive the experience again.
Finally, Mrs. Weasley told them all that they had nosed around enough and thankfully, ushered the twins and Ginny from the room.
"Thanks mum." Ron said.
Molly smiled at him.
"Well, I think I'll let you kids alone and retire myself. Your father should be home soon."
Mr. Weasley had left shortly after dinner; the Ministry had called him in on a problem with exploding out houses.
Kiara leaned over and gave Ron a kiss.
"I think I'll go take a shower and read before bed. You and Harry still have a date with your brooms." She smiled.
Harry laughed.
"Ya, she's missing me a lot. I haven't rode her in a while."
He and Ron burst out laughing at that, Kiara smiled and shook her head.
"Well then, you guys have fun with your frigid dates, I'll be in Ginny's room Ron, if you tire of fondling that stick."
She kissed him once again then left the room.
Ron and Harry went and collected their brooms and headed out to the field behind Ron's house to practice for a few hours.
Kiara walked into the shower, letting the water wash away all the stress of the evening then went to Ginny's room and flopped down on the bed.
"Sorry Kiara. I didn't mean to ask so many questions, it's just that no one could get a single thing out of Ron and..."
Kiara turned and smiled at her.
"That's ok Ginn, you all needed to hear it and I really did need to talk about it. If anything, I should be thanking you for cornering me and making me tell my story." Kiara replied, still holding her smile.
"Besides, rather Ron likes it or not, he too needed to talk about it. Harry talked with Sirius and Hermione all summer so; I guess he really had it out all ready. Although, it never hurts to tell your friends how you feel. At least that's what Sirius told me." She finished.
"Kiara? Can I ask just one more question? I didn't want to ask in front of every one else." Ginny asked.
Kiara smiled.
"Sure hun, go ahead."
Ginny paused a minute then finally asked.
"You and Draco were engaged, right? Well, did you to ever. Well, you know?"
Kiara burst out laughing.
"No, Ginny, we never did. Why do you ask such a thing any way? That really has nothing to do with what all happen back in that forest last year."
Ginny blushed.
"Well, I was hoping maybe to find out what it's like...." She trailed off and started to giggle, Kiara along with her.
"Ginny, you still have lots of time to NOT worry about stuff like that. However, I know what your saying. I have come very close to doing that and let me tell you, if it's supposed to be better than all that leads up to it then, I can assure you, it'll be nice."
They both started in fits of giggles again.
Ron and Harry came to the door and knocked. Ginny and Kiara tried controlling their fits but to no avail.
"Come in." Ginny giggled.
Ron and Harry walked in and at the sight of the guys, Kiara and Ginny started all over again.
"I think they've lost it Harry." Ron smiled turned an accusing look towards the girls.
Kiara immediately straightened up, being sure not to look at Ginny, lest she loose herself control.
"What ever are you talking about Ron haven't you ever seen girls laughing before?" Kiara said with a bit of an edge.
Ron raised his brow then jumped on her, tickling her.
Ginny jumped on Ron.
"Get off her."
Harry shrugged then got into it too, trying to help Ron.
Kiara, being at the bottom of the dog-pile finally had enough and simply willed all three off her. They ended up on the floor next to her bed. Kiara looked down at them.
"Having fun are we?" She smiled a bit devilishly.
ooo, great story! pleez post more soon!!! :)
(LOL, Isis have you read years 5 and 6 thanks)
uh...nope. or at least i don't think i have...lol welcome! :)
Great!!! ;D
.********
The all rushed to the train. Their ride to Kings Cross was a long one. Kiara had lost count on the number of times they had to turn around to get something that one of them had forgotten. Even with out Fred and George, it seemed a real task to get the lot of them together this morning. They did however make it. If only just in time.
"Wew!" Kiara exclaimed as she sunk low into the seat in the compartment.
Harry nodded his agreement.
"I thought we'd never get here." Ginny said, also sliding to a comfortable position in the cushioned seat. None of the four said another word for quite some time. Kiara had fallen back to sleep on Ron's shoulder and Ginny was contented writing in her Diary and Harry and Ron sat playing Wizards Chess.
About an hour into their trip, there came a knock at their door. Kiara stirred.
"Who's it?" she said sleepily.
"Neville." Came the reply.
Ginny got up and let him in. As he entered, Kiara and Ginny both noticed how he'd changed over the simmer. The normally plump, clumsy and most unfit, Neville, they had become accustomed to had been replaced with a very in-shape and seemingly not clumsy clone of their friend.
"What have you done with our Neville?" Kiara said, teasingly to him.
Neville grinned from ear to ear.
"I threw him out this summer." He laughed. "No, really, I just decided to try hitting the weight room. It really worked quite well. It gets a bit addicting though." He shrugged. "As long as I get just that expression you four gave me, it was worth it." He laughed once again.
So far as the rest of the train ride went, it was uneventful. They arrived at Hogsmead station and took the carriages up to the castle.
They all entered the Great Hall, Ron kissing Kiara before they went to their own tables.
Kiara went and sat between Crabbe and Goyle who, despite Draco's absence, took up their protective rolls for Kiara, just the same. She smiled at the two of them; happy they were still there for her. They were a constant reminder of Draco and she liked that. She felt that they too, had the same feelings.
i luv your story! pleez continue! :D
The sorting was over, Dumbledore finished his usual start of term speech, warning first years of the forbidden forest and ticking off any of Filches new rules he added during the summer to his long list, which could be found hanging in Filches office, for anyone who cared to read it, Then the feast began. There was a particularly loud buzz throughout the first years, for some reason, Kiara had not really realized it before.
Perhaps just my nerves. She thought as she added food to her plate.
Then, she realized, the new Slytherins were busying themselves, talking and looking at her. Then, to her surprise, she realized the whole of the room, first years, were doing the same.
"Hey! Get to your own business!" Crabbe growled at a particularly loud bunch, who had seated themselves as close to her as they could.
Kiara snorted.
"Thanks Crabbe, but I think they all have many questions and I don't mind answering them." Kiara smiled, putting a reassuring hand on his arm.
"Well, alright then, if you say..." Crabbe answered, however, he was still glaring at the nervous looking first years.
The rest of the dinner went pretty much with Kiara answering all sorts of questions about Voldem0rt and what had actually transpired last year. Kiara noticed that at the Gryffindor table, Ron, Hermione and Harry were having pretty much the same conversations.
"I tell you what," Kiara looked around the table. "I'll go talk with Hermione, Ron and Harry and see if we might not be able to set up something for the whole school. Best to get this all out now before rumors start flying." She said to everyone.
Then, with out another word, she stood and walked over to the Gryffindor table.
"Harry, Ron, Hermione. We need to talk a moment." She looked out over the Hall and smiled, then sighed.
"Look, we've got to put a stop to all this. I suggest a meeting with the entire school. Most of them kinda know what happened but.."
Hermione was nodding her head.
"She's right guys, come on, lets go talk with Dumbledore about this."
The four of them went to the main table and took Dumbledore aside and told him of their request. He seemed to agree and so they set up a date for dinner tomorrow night.
After dinner, Kiara led the first years to their common room and sent them all off to bed then she flopped on the couch, near the fire and stared at it for a while.
"Hum, Kiara?" It was Crabbe and Goyle. She turned to them and smiled.
"Yes guys, what is it?"
"Mind if we take a seat?" they asked.
Kiara motioned to the chairs, sitting opposite of her.
"We just wanted to let you know that we, uh, that is, ---"
Kiara smiled.
"Look guys, I --" She paused and looked at the two. They looked a bit sad. "Come here."
She patted the couch seat on either side of her.
Crabbe and Goyle sat down. Kiara put an arm around each of them.
"Look, if you two didn't continue doing that which Draco wanted you to do then, I'd be upset with you. Thanks, ok?"
They both nodded then stood up.
"Hum, good night Kiara." They said in unison.
"Good night guys." Kiara replied and they went up stairs and to bed.
Kiara sat back on the couch, it was going to be harder than she thought, being back at school, doing things, she would normally have done without Draco at her side. Then, the thought of Ron came sweeping over her and she smiled again.
Well, maybe not so hard. She thought to herself, then got up and walked out of the common room and up the stairs towards the Gryffindor common room.
pleez post more soon! :)
The fat Lady opened up for her immediacy, knowing full well what the consequences were if she did not.
Kiara walked in and looked around. Then seeing that no one was there, she headed up to Ron's room.
Ron, being head boy this year, had a room, separate from the others so Kiara crept in, sue enough, Ron was sleeping.
Kiara slid the covers back and got into bed with him then, putting a hand over his mouth she jumped on him. Ron practically jumped out of bed, knocking a laughing Kiara to the floor.
"What, who.." Ron looked around then realized what had happened.
He started laughing.
"Kiara, what are you doing?" He whispered.
"I couldn't sleep. So I came to see you." She replied as she crawled back into bed with him. Ron smiled and lay back down, Kiara putting her head on his chest.
"Anything you want to talk about?" Ron asked, running his hand through her soft hair.
"No, not really. Just can't sleep, that's all, I thought maybe if I came up here, you'd be able to help me do that." She smiled, as she looked up at him.
Ron put a hand on either side of her face and kissed her gently.
"You know, if you get caught in here, we'll both get in big trouble." he said.
Kiara smiled.
"We won't get caught, I'll teleport back to my room in the morning." She slid up a bit and began kissing him, a little more passionately than she had ever before.
Ron returned her affections and they continued this for quite some time before finally, Kiara stopped it.
"I think, we should try and sleep now." She sunk back down and laying her head, once again on his chest, fell right to sleep.
Ron brushed her hair from her face and smiled.
"Good night Kiara." Then, holding her close, he too, fell asleep.
great story! pleez continue! :)
(Just a reminder for those of you who havn't read the other books, Max is not the same here as in our forum. You will love to hate him as much as I do, in here. lol)
Dumbledore was awake in his office. Still, he couldn't help but wonder if keeping Kiara here in this school was a good idea.
She seems ok, for now. Maybe I'll just have to watch. He thought to himself.
He had almost sent her away last year but the fate kept him from doing so. He only wished that the fate would speak to him again, assure him, as it had before, that Kiara was going to be fine. However, it didn't seem to talk much to him any more. This usually meant that his part in the "play" was over, for now. He sat at his desk in deep thought for many hours before retiring to bed.
Kiara woke up very early, turned and kissed Ron then teleported to her own room.
Good, there are still a few hours. Perhaps I can get some more sleep. She thought to herself. Then she pulled back her covers and saw a note lying under them. She picked it up and sat down to read:
Welcome back to school, Kiara. I do ever hope you don't miss me too much. I do miss you. How's Weasley doing? Don't grow to attached to him now. Remember what I did to your last boyfriend. I only wish you could see me now. Your father and I have become such, good friends. Oh, he too, wishes to see you soon. If you look in your drawer, you'll find a gift. You might not want it now but, I'm sure I can persuade you to wear it, soon enough. Well, ta ta for now.
Max Evilyn
Kiara slowly opened her dresser drawer. Inside she found a small box. She opened it slowly then dropped it on the floor.
She was shaking; her face pale and she started to cry. She sat there like that for several hours. Finally, Pansy came into her room; she noticed that Kiara hadn't been down yet.
"Kiara? What's wrong?" Pansy asked.
Kiara pointed to the box, lying on the floor. Pansy picked it up and looked at the engagement ring.
"I don't get it, what's the problem?"
Kiara handed her the letter.
"Oh.... I, uh, I think you should tell Dumbledore about this one."
Pansy set the box down on Kiara's dresser. Kiara looked at it and then smacked it off her dresser and across the room.
"I think I'll go get Ron, I'll be right back." Pansy said, knowing she was not close enough to Kiara to let her help.
Ron came into the room. He looked at Kiara and then at the box, lying on the floor on the other side of the room. He picked up the letter and read, his expression turning angry. "That---" Ron quickly sat down next to Kiara and held her tight.
"Don't worry, they wont, not as long as I'm around." He whispered to her.
Kiara clung on to him tight. She started to cry again.
"Why don't they just leave me alone!" She yelled.
She was shaking now, crying very hard, All Ron could do was hold her and try to assure her that everything was going to be ok. Even though, he knew it wasn't, he knew that it had to come to an end of some sort, he only hoped, it would be in their favor.
Last year had taught him that things don't always come out the way you want them to. People really do change and Voldem0rt was more of a reality now that he too, had dealt with him. However, Voldem0rt wasn't the one he really worried about now. Max was his main concern. He was the one that the Fate had chosen this time; he was the one to be reckoned with. Sure, Voldem0rt was dangerous but Max, had fate on his side.
After Ron had gotten Kiara to calm down a bit, he took her straight to Dumbledore. They had to take him out of the Great Hall and away from his breakfast and the ears of the other teachers.
They stood in the room behind the main table and Ron explained to him what was going on. Kiara didn't want to talk.
Ron showed him both the letter and the ring. Dumbledore sat in a chair and read. When he finished he looked up at the two of them.
"So, it's started already. I was afraid of this. Kiara, you --" But he stopped.
He was going to say she needed to leave the school but the fate, once again, talked to him.
(She has to stay Albus. I can't have my vessel walking amongst the dark fates people. It would put her in to much peril. No, she must stay.)
Dumbledore tapped his head.
"Our friend says you must stay here. So, I guess, as long as the students are not in any danger from you, you will stay."
Kiara nodded her understanding. She knew that he had no choice and now knew that her godfather didn't want her around. She turned to leave, Ron looking at Dumbledore as if he were an awful person.
"Kiara, wait. There is something I should show you. It is the reason I am frightened to keep you in this school. " Dumbledore said, now standing.
Kiara stopped and turned to regard him. "You, frightened, why? You never feared me before, why now, what are you so afraid of?" Kiara wanted to know; she couldn't understand what it was that could make her godfather fear her.
"Come with me, both of you. Ron might as well know too."
They followed Dumbledore to his office where he pulled out a small round sphere. It was glowing with a blue light.
"Here, open this, it will answer many questions for you."
Dumbledore handed Kiara the small sphere.
As soon as her hand touched it, the sphere began to radiate a bright red. This seemed to interest Dumbledore.
"It's never done that before, interesting." He commented.
Kiara looked at the sphere, held it and rolled it between her hands. Finally, she opened it. A mans figure came into form and began to speak:
There will come to pass a son, direct descendant of Salazar Slytherin, He will be known as the greatest Dark Lord to walk the planet. It will also come to pass that he will father twins, one of which can be the destruction of the Dark Lord, the other, his salvation. The female will be known from here on as the Dark Lords Shadow for she truly will be his shadow, through out her young life she will be tempted to the Dark arts with a temper uncontrollable, until she comes of age and now becomes unstoppable. Her power will be that of the Gods themselves. I pray thee who hear this, please to destroy the Dark Lords Shadow before she even has the chance to walk the earth, before she becomes the love of all who meet her. You will not see the demon in her; she will blind you to this.
If the Dark Lords Shadow comes home to her rightful position beside her fathers' side, the world as we so love it will be cloaked in darkness for a thousand years. There will be no hope for humanity; there will be no one to stand before her no man or no beast. All hope will be lost....
Kiara nearly dropped the sphere, Ron took it from her shaky had and closed it. Then, handed it back to Dumbledore.
"Why now? Why didn't you tell her before and why ever, did you allow her to work so closely to her father if you knew about this?" Ron asked, more than a little angry.
Kiara laid a hand on his arm.
"It's not his fault. He's just protecting me, that's all. He didn't want to believe this any more than I do now but, things, being the way they are, seem to be pointing in that direction. I understand now. I need to talk to Harry. He should know. Can I have that?" Kiara said.
Dumbledore handed her the orb.
"Yes, you should show that to Harry. He needs to know. If he is the one who is supposed to kill Voldem0rt, he needs to know just what he could be facing." Dumbledore said, looking at Kiara with sad eyes.
"Don't look at me like I'm lost already. The prophecy did say IF, after all." Kiara told him.
Dumbledore smiled a little.
"You're right, it does say IF."
Ron and Kiara left the office and went down to breakfast. Kiara decided to eat with the Gryffindors. No one seemed to mind.
After, Ron and Kiara took Harry aside and showed him the prophecy. Harry frowned.
"But, no way. Well, I guess I'd best hurry and kill him then now shouldn't I." He tried to lighten up the mood a bit.
It worked and Kiara hugged him.
"Ya, I wouldn't want to have to kill you. I couldn't do it last time so..."
They smiled. Ron watched as the two of them, as usual, pretended that there was no problem with the world. It always seemed that Kiara and Harry could except what was thrown in their path, as long as they were together, that's all that seemed to matter to them. Ron smiled....
wonderful!!! :) pleez continue!!! :D
Chapter 2. The Vessel of the DARK FATE
Max paced the floor to his room. He had just had another argument with Lucius.
I will kill that man, just as I did his son. If only Voldem0rt would see it my way. He was thinking to himself.
He had nothing but ill wishes towards Lucius. Since the first time he met him, Max had despised him. Lucius was the closest one ever to Voldem0rt and that is precisely where Max longed to be. Perhaps, when he got Kiara, every thing would change. Perhaps, when Kiara came to be her fathers shadow, the way things were supposed to be, he would be held aloft, power over all. The only problem after that would be Kiara herself. Sure, she would become his wife but, would he ever really be able to call her his? This bothered him.
Yes, that Weasley prat must die as well.
(You must bide your time. Lucius is just a small inconvenience. Do not underestimate his worth however.) The Dark Fate told him.
Max had finally come accustom to hearing this voice in his mind. At first, he didn't want to accept it. However, when he realized his worth, as being chosen to do the fates work, he welcomed it, with open arms.
Max had just sent out another letter to Kiara. One with which the dark fate had bade him write. He smiled at the thought of her reading it. Although, he knew she wouldn't accept his proposal, he also knew that it would come with time. Rather she believed it or not.
"Excuse me sir." The servant said.
Max turned a dark eye upon the intruder.
"What is it you want!" He growled.
"Uh, The Dark Lord wishes your company in the throne room. Sir." The servant replied.
"Oh, very well, take me to him."
Max had been hoping to have a bit of free time to spend with the woman slaves. He had grown quite fond of several of them. So, this calling was a bit of an annoyance to him just now.
"Awe, Max, good of you to join me." Voldem0rt said, with no real emotion.
Max bowed his head as was expected.
"You called my Lord?" He replied.
"Yes, have a seat." Voldem0rt motioned to a chair, next to the throne.
Max sat down.
"I understand that you have had a visitor, in your mind, these last few months. Why is it that you have not told me about it?" Voldem0rt seemed a little put out at this.
"My Lord, I thought it would be just a bother to you so, decided to keep my mouth closed on the matter. Nothing more." Max replied quickly. Perhaps, just a little to quickly but it seemed to go unnoticed by Voldem0rt.
"Oh, I see. What has it been telling you and in the future, do not hold such information from me." Voldem0rts gaze was a penetrating one. His eyes seemed to burn through your very soul and once locked in his gaze, you could not turn away until he permitted it so, Max was stuck. He had to tell him everything.
ooo, pleez post more soon!!! :)
Lucius paced the floor to his chamber. He had waited long enough; he had to act, soon. Max was becoming stronger all the time, Lucius now knew that the Dark Fate had chosen Max as it's vessel and that meant that, he, Lucius, had little to no chance at killing him.
I need the girl. She's the one who will do it. What care I if she kills me too, so long as that devil is gone. Soon Max, you will be repaid for killing my son, soon.
Lucius was obsessed, driven with hatred. All he could see when he looked at Max was the same picture, over and over again, a picture of a dagger, sticking out from Draco's chest, Max's dagger.
***********
Max strode down the halls of the castle. He knew not precisely where it was he was going, he just knew he had to walk away from Voldem0rt.
(Soon, Max, soon. She will be here and you will have your prize.) The Dark Fate was telling him.
But what of Lucius? How am I supposed to get around that? He is powerful and driven with a hatred for me, larger than that of The Shadow. Max thought back at it.
(Lucius is of no worry; he will not openly attack you. He is bound to Voldem0rt in ways you could not possibly understand. No, he is not the one you should be worried about. Remember the Red-Haired one. He's her protector. Always has been. He is the one to watch.) The Fate replied.
I know that. He was the one you meant for me to kill in the first place, then that weak, pathetic, Malfoy, got in the path of my dagger.
Max was still angry that he had missed his target that night, for if he had indeed hit it, things would be different. He would be walking these halls at this very moment with Kiara and Voldem0rt would be gone. The ultimate power would have been his, and there wouldn't have been anything to stop him.
Kiara lay in her bed, it was well past midnight and still, she couldn't sleep. She got up, dressed again and went out in to the halls. She decided to patrol the grounds for a bit, maybe take her mind off everything. She started to go out side when she got a strong feeling to walk to the East Tower. So, with out knowing why, she crept the halls, planning to tell any teacher, or Filch, if she ran into them that she was just simply patrolling.
When Kiara reached to East Tower, she stood at the base of the stairs, hesitated then went up. A flood of memories washed over her when she reached the top. Kiara stood there, arms wrapped around her body, eyes closed and remembered. She could see it all so clear now. This was the first time; Draco ever said those three words, to any one.
He was holding her in his arms, they were gazing at the stars and then he turned her face to his.
"I, I love you, Kiara." He whispered, a tear rolling down his cheek.
Kiara immediately kissed him. She knew how hard it was for him to confess that to her. She knew how it frightened him.
When they parted, they held each other and silently looked out over the snow covered ground.
"Kiara, promise me something. Promise you'll never leave me."
"Never, Draco Malfoy. I promise you this." Then smiling she said, "You're pretty much stuck with me from now on, Mr. Malfoy." He smiled at her.
Kiara stood there crying for how long, she didn't know. The sun had begun to rise when finely; she turned from the tower and started to walk back down the stairs. She turned, one last time before she descended.
I kept my promise Draco; I didn't leave you...Good-bye.
Then she turned and walked slowly back down to the common room, crawled into bed and closed her eyes. She had finally, said her good bye and she felt that Draco, had let her go.
:'( pleez post more soon!!! :)
It had been a few weeks since Max had spoken with Voldem0rt last and he was now entering the throne room once again to speak with him.
The Dark Fate had assured Max of his coming power and Max had not dared, tell Voldem0rt of this. He knew that if he found out that Max and not he was to be the one who shared in the power of Kiara's reign, Voldem0rt would surely kill him.
(No, he can't do that Max.) The Fate spoke to him as he walked into the throne room.
No? Truly you have the power to keep me safe from one as powerful as he? Max thought back, making sure to keep his emotions intact, he knew that Voldem0rt could tell peoples feelings.
The Fate did not answer.
Voldem0rt sat on the high-backed throne, he was watching Max closely as he approached.
Max could feel him burrowing into his very sole. He bowed his head in greeting.
"You have been keeping something from me, Max. Did I not warn you of this? I guess it is time for me to teach you what happens to a person when they disobey me."
Voldemort pointed his wand at Max. "Crucio!" He yelled.
Max was unaffected, he smiled.
This took Voldem0rt aback.
"What manner of beast are you?" He spoke, in a strong, affrighted voice.
Max watched the unfamiliar emotions, playing across Voldem0rts snake like features.
"I'm no beast, My Lord, I am only the vessel of the Fate and you should know that it will not allow it's vessel to fall to harm." Max replied calmly. Knowing now, exactly what the Fate had meant by it's last words to him. "There is only one person I do fear and that is the very person I intend to make my wife." Max finished with a slight bow and a particularly, evil smile.
Voldem0rt thingyed his head to the side in a curious manner.
"You do not fear me yet you still bow to me. Why is that?" Voldem0rt asked, now very interested in this young wizard.
Max smiled a very dark but genuine smile.
"You have been the only one with which I ever could call, a father figure. I do not wish to disrespect you, besides...You're followers are yours and, I may have use of them. Killing you would only prove to be a big mistake." Max replied.
Voldem0rt laughed.
"So, that's it then, you need me." He continued to laugh. "Looks as though we are at a stand still then young Max, as I do indeed need you as well. I think we can work something out. Just remember who I am boy, and don't underestimate my power, you may have the Fate on your side for now, however...keep in mind that it has a habit of jumping from person to person, just when you think your covered, it has left you for another purpose." Voldem0rt continued to laugh, a very spine chilling laugh and suddenly, Max wasn't so sure of himself any more. He bowed his head once again and left the throne room quickly, Voldem0rts laughter following him out.
Max walked into his room and shut the door behind him, Voldem0rts words still echoing through his mind. He began to pace the floor.
Is what he says true? Will you leave me for some other purpose, even if I needed you to protect me from a foe?
Max waited, and waited..
"AMSWER ME! I know you can here me!" He now yelled out loud.
(No need to shout. I'm right here. You wonder how it is that I could possibly leave my vessel to, fate?) The Dark Fate laughed a low, bone-chilling laugh. One that made the hair on Max's arm stand on end. (Do not think yourself indispensable...What is time for me? If you die then, I find another to play my game. Yes, Voldem0rt speaks the truth. He was my last vessel, after all, he knows of my work. Soon, you to will become aware of my intentions.}
Max felt as though he had just been hit in the face with an iron.
I thought that your ultimate purpose was to become one again? Max thought at the Fate.
Once again the Fate laughed the same hideous laugh.
(That is what the other side wants, I seek only power. Once Kiara is yours, she becomes mine and when that happens, the other Fate dies. I become the only true path. So you see, we all need someone. If the other side plays his pieces right, there will be no way out, kind of a Check Mate, so to speak.}
Max smiled at this.
So you do need me then. You've let something slip and now, I know, I am truly invincible, to a point. But what says that Kiara won't make a decision to kill me? Max said, waiting for a reply. However, his reply never came. The Fate had gone.
************
Kiara woke from her dream and gasped as she sat up, a pain in her head such as she had never before felt.
(I am sorry Kiara, I didn't mean to make your head hurt so...I just needed to warn you that you have to get ready for something.) The fate told her.
What is it? Kiara asked.
(I cannot say, it would be breaking the rules if I did.)
Of course, how stupid of me to ask. Kiara growled.
The fate had already left. Kiara sighed and got out of her bed, her head still hurting. She dressed and went down to the common room.
"Morning Kiara." It was Crabbe.
Kiara smiled slightly.
"Morning, where's Goyle?" She asked, noting that Goyle was nowhere in sight. This was odd considering she never saw one with out the other.
Crabbe frowned.
"He's in the hospital wing. Don't know what happened, he juss, well, fell to the floor."
Kiara snapped her head up, which was painful, she winced.
"What are you talking about? When, how.."
Kiara didn't wait for an answer, she took off out of the common room and towards the hospital wing, Crabbe following close behind.
Ron was headed to the Great Hall when he saw Kiara running to the hospital. He turned and caught up, running with her.
"Kiara? What's going on?" He asked, concern written on his face.
Kiara kept up the pace and they entered the hospital.
"I don't know yet." She winced again.
Madam Pomfrey came out to greet them.
"What happened to Goyle?" Kiara skipped through the formalities and straight to the point.
Pomfrey didn't loose a step.
"Mr. Goyle has had a fainting spell, that's all, nothing more." She replied.
Kiara shook her head, which caused her to wince against the pounding in her brain again.
"No, he doesn't have fainting spells. Where is he?"
********
Max stood on the castle wall, looking out over the forest lying beyond, he was smiling.
"It's begun, now, every person she holds dear to her will all start dropping like the flies they are, she'll come to me, it's the only way to save them."
His smile was both dark and every bit as evil as that of the one crossing Voldem0rt's own features.
"Come home Shadow, you really have no choice now."
Together, Max and Voldem0rt laughed. Both willing now to wait, it was all they had left to do.
*shudders* great story! pleez post more soon!!! :)
Chapter 3. Anguished Decision
After some coaxing, Kiara finally managed to get Pomfrey to take her to see Crabbe.
Kiara stood next to his bed, he was still sleeping, and Kiara's head was still pounding.
Kiara looked closely at Crabbe, laying there, running her eyes over his still form, searching for what exactly, she didn't know. Suddenly she gasped.
Ron jumped.
"What, what is it Kiara?" He asked, once again, concern in his every move, every syllable of his words.
Kiara put her hand to her now, greatly pounding head. She reached out and laid a hand on her friends arm, right on the inside and barley noticeable was a mark, not the dark mark of her father, rather a new one, it was a brand of some sort, A perfect circle with an unmistakable (M) embedded inside of it. Kiara knew instantly where it came from, she felt his presence here in the room and looked around, shivering uncontrollably now.
"Let him GO!" She yelled out, ignoring the pounding that was in her head.
Every one jumped and looked surprised at her. Ron lifted her hand and looked upon the mark clearly embedded on Crabber's arm.
"Oh no Kiara, what does it mean?"
He grabbed her and held her tight, she pushed him away.
"I, don't know Ron, I don't know what it is he has done but, I --" She passed out
Ron caught her just before her head hit the floor. He easily picked her up and laid her on a bed. Madam Pomfrey went to her and tried a few things to wake her; she shook her head in defeat.
"One of you had best go and get Professor Dumbledore. Like I've said before, I can do nothing for this one, I'm just not trained with her kind."
Ron looked at Goyle, "Ok, I'll go." Goyle said, a little put out at the fact that he'd actually have to be seen talking with Dumbledore.
"Where am I?" Kiara asked, looking around. She was standing in a misty field, the air about her seemed so cold yet, she wasn't a bit chilled.
"Hello, is there anyone out there?"
She turned quickly as she heard footsteps walking toward her.
"Hello?" She asked again.
Still no answer, then, to her terror, Max Evilyn stepped out of the Mist to stand in front of her. He smiled,
"Hello Kiara, I was wondering how long it would take for you to finally stop fighting it." he said, in a low acid tone.
Kiara didn't even bother to gather her will against him; she knew it would be futile. This was a dream like place; he was no more there than she was.
"What have you done to Crabbe?" Kiara spit.
Max smiled again.
"What no hello's for me, aren't you in the least happy to see the one who killed your," He paused, an evil smile now plastered across his face. "Your plaything." he laughed.
Kiara stood there growing angrier than ever. This was the first time she had seen Max since he had killed Draco. She wanted more than anything to watch as this evil, twisted wizard, burned alive by her hand.
"What--have -- you -- done." Kiara forced herself to stick to the problem at hand.
"Oh, very well then. I'll tell you this, with each day that passes, another that you hold dear to you will fall, all you need do is simply come to me, be mine and leave that other life behind. That's all, it's not so bad, now is it, and you were almost there before. Why you fight against your own destiny so violently, I don't know, you're life is full of misery only because you don't, won't, do as you have been destined to do. Now, to help you make your decision, I stepped in and your friends will all suffer for your stubbornness, I am begging you Kiara, put them all at ease and return home to me. To your father."
Suddenly Kiara was jerked away, the field and Max were quickly disappearing.
"Remember Kiara!"
Kiara sat up and gasped. Her head no longer pounding but now, she wish she'd been dead.
Dumbledore stood over her smiling.
"Welcome back Kiara..." He started but trailed off when she started to cry.
Ron pushed his way over to her, this time she welcomed his holding her.
BUMP!
Max came back from the trance he had gone into.
"She now has the message. She really hates me." He laughed.
Voldem0rt looked upon him with amusement.
"You really do find this all a game, don't you? Just don't lose sight of the fact that once she does arrive, she too will be under protection of the fate. You can be surprised as to what you can live through." Voldem0rt smiled, "Trust me, I've seen her work, she's got a style all her own, the last Wizard she had the pleasure of torturing is still in the hospital, screaming." Voldem0rt shook his head slowly. "Let's just hope she has the self control not to go off on you and save her friends."
Max looked up at him with mock concern.
"I think I know what to expect. I know it won't be easy, that's why we MUST, take the prisoners. With out them, she will never keep herself docile enough to control." Max replied.
Then, he stood and, without nodding his head or even bothering to acknowledge Voldem0rts presence, he walked out of the throne room.
Voldem0rt watched him go with a taste of acid in his mouth, soon, young wizard, soon. You will learn to respect your real master.
*********
Kiara finally calmed down enough to relate that which had transpired and explained the head ache, for lack of better words on her part, she had woken up to.
"So, it all comes down to you, once again. Like I said before, You are only endangering all who dwell in these walls, however, I believe that it would make no difference as to where you were to dwell, the people who's lives you have touched are going to suffer. I don't wish for you to go to Voldem0rt's hands, that would be the worst thing the world it's self could ever see, would ever see."
Dumbledores words, although harsh, were true and Kiara understood that he no longer planned to hold things back from her now, everything was important, everything he could arm her with now, was important to the very survival of the world as they knew it.
"Look, I must go, if I don't then..." She trailed off.
"NO!" Dumbledore actually raised his voice, making both Kiara and Ron cringe.
"You can't go to them. It's what they need of you, you will inevitably cross that line once again and then, who's to say we can get you back before it's to late. We were lucky last time. I don't think that the Dark Fate will over look the same things again. It knows its weakness now." Dumbledore finished.
Kiara looked at Crabbe, lying in the bed on the other side of the room and dropped her head.
"Ok then, I am asking for your help in this. I'm not asking as your goddaughter but as your student. What am I to do?" Kiara asked, now looking at her godfather in the eyes, waiting for some word that he had a plan or a way to at the very least, stop the suffering of her friends.
Dumbledore spoke in a hushed, tired voice, one that Kiara knew all to well,
"I, will find a way Kiara, You are not going to stand alone in this. I made that mistake once and, I regret it far more than you could possibly imagine. This time, I will personally have a hand in all that occurs." He promised her.
Then, laying an old hand on her shoulder, he walked from the room.
Kiara and Ron left the hospital, before being excused, Ron, holding Kiara closely. They headed up to the Gryffindor tower and entered.
Harry and Hermione were sitting amongst a group of mixed year students, all of which Kiara didn't know, they looked up at her with expressions of awe on their faces. Kiara smiled.
"Hey, I don't mean to be rude but, can I steel my brother and Hermione for a bit?" She asked each of them.
Ron smiled, he knew she was just playing with them all, she really didn't care rather she was rude or not, suddenly, his smile faded as it dawned on him that maybe she wasn't playing, maybe this had all worn her down, at closer inspection, she seemed a bit listless and unemotional, really. Harry noticed it too and stood up.
"Ron, we can use your room. Come on Mione, I think we might want to hear all this."
Harry helped Hermione to her feet and the four of them walked up to Ron's room.
Kiara immediately sat on the bed. She felt tired, she felt as though someone had tied a huge weight around her mid-section and it was soon going to hold her down forever. She sat silently as Ron droned on about all that had happened in the last few hours.
Harry turned a, now, paled face to his sister.
"Is this what happened? Did he explain it right?" Harry asked, hoping he had somehow misunderstood what it was that Ron was telling him.
Kiara looked up and into her brothers, brilliant green eyes.
"Yes Harry, every bit of it. I think, maybe I should just..." She trailed off, telling them would be a mistake, telling her brother, her best friend and the one she loved that she was thinking of ending all their suffering by killing herself, a task that, in her opinion, should have been done when she had been born, would not be a good idea.
Ron sat next to her.
"Don't worry Kiara, Dumbledore said he'd figure something out and soon, you'll see, soon, no one will have to worry anymore."
His words, although seemingly comforting, had all the conviction behind them as plastic knife.
Hermione's mind was working now, Kiara could tell. That wonderful mind, it always figures things out. Kiara thought that perhaps if there were going to be a plan to come about, it would be her and not Dumbledore who came up with it.
"I'll be back in a little while," Hermione stated as she kissed Harry and left the room.
No one had to ask where it was she was headed. They all knew that the first thing Hermione did when a new circumstance came about was head for the library. Somehow, this brought a smile to Kiara's otherwise dismal expression.
"I think that you should stay in here, with me tonight, Kiara. I don't want you waking up alone again and facing this on your own." Ron said, in a rather final note.
Harry smiled.
"Sure Ron, she's safe with you.." He teased, once again making light of the situation.
Kiara smiled again.
"No, Harry, I don't think that my safety would be in question here..." Kiara gave Ron a very, devilish smile that made him a little nervous.
Harry laughed, as did Kiara.
"Oh, great! Now I get tag teamed by the twins, story of my life. First it's Fred and George, now it's you two." He laughed.
Kiara knocked him to the bed and smiled as she hovered over him.
Harry chuckled.
"I think I'll leave the two of you alone to, uh, discuss just who is in danger here." He laughed and shook his head as he walked out.
Kiara leaned down and kissed Ron. "I love you, you know that, right?" She said to him.
Ron smiled. "Yes, I do know that. I love you too." Then, he flipped her over and now started kissing her again.
awe, bump!!! :)
Kiara woke up, wrapped in Ron's arms and smiled briefly. She untangled herself slowly, so as not to wake him. Then slid out of bed and started to walk out. She turned to look back and heard a scream from down stairs. She raced from the room and stopped, dead in her tracks as she saw Lavender and Pavarti standing around a figure on the floor.
Kiara moved slowly down the stairs until she reached the spot where the others stood.
"No, no, no, no."
Kiara knelt down and puts a hand on Ginny's arm and found what she was looking for.
"Kiara? What's --" Ron trailed off at the sight of his sister lying on the floor.
"Ron, I'm so sorry. I --" Kiara trailed off as Ron knelt beside her.
"Kiara, you didn't do this, it was him. Don't apologize."
Ron picked Ginny up and together; he and Kiara took her to the hospital.
At breakfast that morning, the twins came over to Kiara. They had come to the school to see Ginny.
"Look Kiara, we know you didn't do anything to her and stuff so, ya." Fred said.
Kiara didn't smile or even look at them,
"Thanks." Was her reply, nothing more.
They stood up and walked back to the Gryffindor table and started to talk with Ron about something, Kiara didn't care. She was busy making a decision, one that neither Dumbledore nor any one else for that matter would particularly care for. She was planning on doing exactly what Max told her to do.
Kiara stood up and began walking from the hall. Goyle dropped what he was eating and followed.
Kiara walked to the common room and turned to regard Goyle for a moment. A slight smile crossed her face.
"What ever are you doing?" She asked, almost a bit to nice for Goyle.
As slow as he was, even he knew, something was up.
"I'm following you, things being as they are an all..." Goyle replied.
Kiara turned and started up to the girls dorm, then, with out turning around, "Thanks." She went to her room.
Once in her room, she sat on her bed.
"Accio Ring"
The ring that Max had sent her came flying out of it's hiding place and she plucked it from the air and stuffed it in her pocket. Then she composed a note. Once finished she laid the note on her bed and turned once again to her door. Goyle was standing in the doorway.
"What are you doing'?" He asked.
"How long have you been there?" Kiara asked in return.
"Long enough to know that you're leaving. I'm going with you." Goyle replied.
Kiara shook her head.
"No, you're not. You need to stay here and wait for Crabbe to wake, I have a feeling he should do so in a few days." Kiara replied, staring him down.
Goyle stood his ground.
"No, Kiara, I can't let you leave with out protection. Draco would never allow it." He replied, hoping to catcher off guard.
"Draco's DEAD! Don't stand there pretending you know about things you know nothing about, I'm leaving and I'm going, alone." Kiara growled, she didn't like having Draco's wishes thrown in her face, she didn't like the fact the she knew Goyle was right, Draco never would have permitted it, however, she wasn't willing to put Goyle's life in peril, two friends was enough.
Goyle stood aside and let her pass.
"Ok, but, I'm going to Ron about this one."
Kiara was walking past and stopped.
"Good, you can give him my note then."
She pointed to the bed and continued walking down the stairs.
*********
Ron and Harry were walking to their first class of the day, next thing they knew, they were in a small room with no windows and seemingly, no exit. They both went for their wands, they were gone.
"What the --" Ron started.
"Hell is going on here." Harry finished for him.
Kiara walked down the hall and started out the front door.
"And just where do you think your going?" Came the last voice she wanted to hear just now.
Snape stepped in front of her.
"Classes start in a few minutes, Kiara. You can't possibly be headed out side, Potions is the other way." He glared at her.
Kiara stepped aside and started to walk around him, not wanting to argue, she really didn't have the time.
Snape reached out and grabbed her arm.
"Let go of my arm, Professor." She growled.
"No, I think you need to come with me." Snape pulled her back.
Kiara closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
"This is definitely going to hurt you more than me. Sorry." Kiara hissed.
Snape jerked his hand back, it had begun to smolder.
Kiara quickly stepped out side and then vanished.
Goyle came running down the hall and ran right in to Snape.
"Uh, sorry Professor, uh, it's Kiara she's---"
He stopped and looked at Snapes now burnt hand.
"Oh, you know already."
Goyle handed him the note.
"Get to class Mr. Goyle, I will be along shortly."
Snape strode off towards Dumbledore's office. The note clutched in his good hand.
"Come in" Dumbledore said.
Snape walked into his office.
"It would seem, Miss. Maul has decided to leave us." Snape snarled.
Then he handed the still, unopened note to Dumbledore.
Dumbledore took it from Snape and opened it and read. His face paled slightly as he did so. He red it again, this time out loud for Snape to hear:
Ron, or who ever gets this, I have decided to leave. I'm going to Max to do as he wanted, I will not sit around while all my friends fall victim to him. Not when I can prevent it. Ron, I'm sorry, I can't find the words but you know what I mean. Professor Dumbledore, I will do all in my power to defeat Max and my father, beat them at their own game. They really are no match for me anymore anyway. I just hope that no one blames me for doing what was necessary. If I didn't do it then...I can't have Ron killed over me the way Draco was. I won't have it. Good-bye.
Kiara
Dumbledore sat there, thinking, Snape glared at nothing in particular.
"You are correct in stating that she has decided to leave us. However, you seem to have over looked the part that says, she's not coming back." Dumbledore stated quite frankly.
"I guess I should have read the note. You don't think that she is actually planning on taking them on by herself, do you?" Snape replied, looking now a little surprised.
Dumbledore nodded his head.
"That is precisely what she plans on doing, I only hope that Fate, is on her side. We have no idea where to even start looking for her; I guess I had best let the Ministry know that the Dark Lords Shadow has gone home. Lets hope that I'm wrong."
With that said, Dumbledore stood and Snape left the room, and headed back to class.
Dumbledore retrieved his broom from the closet and took off out the window. He needed to warn the Ministry, he only hoped that this time, they'd listen.
Ron paced the floor.
"Boy, doesn't this feel a bit familiar." He grumbled, remembering all to well the last time they were stuck in a room somewhere they had no idea of.
"Ya, but I get the feeling that this time, it's going to be a lot different." Harry replied.
Then he went to a chair and sat, closed his eyes and sent out his thoughts to Kiara. He hoped that she'd be able to feel him from, where ever they were.
Kiara sat in a cafe', sipping tea when she finally felt him. She nearly choked.
No, you didn't Max. She thought to herself.
She took a deep breath and closed her eyes, trying to pin point Harry's exact location, she could worry about what Max had done with him, after, she had found him.
"Excuse me miss, excuse me, hello?" The waitress had come around again.
Kiara opened her eyes slowly.
"No, no more thanks." Kiara replied, the waitress walked away.
Kiara had almost had him.
Stupid Muggles don't know when to leave a person alone.
She looked really grumpy now. Kiara stood, put some Muggle money down on the table and left.
She had to find a quiet place to find him, one with out a bunch of medalling Muggles.
Kiara walked the streets of the town until she came to a park, she entered.
It was getting late and the park cast shadows over the ground. She heard the gate swing shut behind her then, the lock turned. Kiara smiled.
Good, now I won't be bothered. She thought as she continued to walk toward the center of the park.
She seated herself on a bench and closed her eyes once again.
Suddenly seminally, out of nowhere, some one grabbed her from behind. She looked up and saw a Muggle male, dirty and a bit smelly.
She struggled to free her self then, realizing he had a firm grip, she forced him off her, he went flying across the lawn.
Kiara wrinkled her nose at his lingering, stale beer scent. The man stood on shaky legs and ran off.
Disgusting fool. Bet he doesn't try that again for a while.
Kiara took a deep breath then started to close her eyes again but something caught her attention.
She stood up and walked off to the left of her towards a small light, it seemed to be coming from nowhere.
Not a Muggle item, I can see that.
She walked towards it then stopped. Standing before her was Lucius Malfoy.
They both stood there, staring at one another for a moment. Then Kiara finally broke the silence.
"It's been a long time, Lucius. You don't look so well." She stated honestly.
Lucius nodded.
"Kiara, you look just as beautiful as ever. I always told Draco that he made a good choice." He replied.
Kiara narrowed her eyes.
"Your not here per my father's request, are you?" She asked, not knowing precisely why but, she knew there was something behind that emotionless mask he was putting forth.
Lucius stepped forward.
"Walk with me a moment. I think what I have to say, may be of interest to you."
Kiara hesitated but accepted and walked beside him.
"You know by now the prophecy surrounding you and all that. Am I correct?" He started.
Kiara looked up at him as they walked, something was burning to get out of him and she meant to find out.
"Yes, I do...Why?"
Lucius thought a moment, he wasn't sure how to approach it, he had planned on intercepting her before Max got his hands on her he had planned on killing her but now, seeing her again brought back a flood of memories that he didn't want to face. She had been the only person to have ever; gotten close to his son and, destroying her now, would be, unbearable. He was to revert to his original plan, the plan to destroy both his master and his enemy.
"You can't let it happen." He started.
Kiara was a little taken aback from this statement. However, she thought she understood.
"Your father and ...Max--" He almost spit the last name. "Have your brother and Weasley."
Kiara gasped, she knew they had Harry, why else would he be trying so hard to contact her, she felt it in him but she had no idea they had Ron until just now.
"You seem surprised. You can't let them pull you off guard like that, that's how they'll win. More than anything, I don't want to see, Max, come to power. I want you to be sure he dies." Lucius stopped and turned to her.
Kiara was right; it had everything to do with the death of his son.
"I don't intend on keeping him alive." Kiara growled.
Lucius almost smiled.
"That's what I had hoped. Then why do you come to seek him out?" he asked.
Kiara looked in to his eyes, searching for some hint of deceit, there was none. He had the same burning inside him as she did, a desire to see Max forever gone.
"He has forced my hand in this, you know of what it is they do, do you not?" Kiara said.
"Yes, I know, but I thought you would try to find another way around it." Lucius replied.
Kiara shook her head. "No, there is no other way. However, now that he has Harry and Ron, I'm not so sure anymore. I won't have any more deaths because of me. I lost the. The one person I cared for more than life it's self, back in those woods last year and I don't intend on loosing any one else."
Kiara's eyes flashed at the memory of Draco and the whole night, her normally, calm anger now rising once again. She wanted so badly to yell at Lucius, tell him it was his fault for consorting with the likes of her father in the first place but she knew he already understood that. She took a deep breath then Lucius smiled at her.
"I was hoping you wouldn't berate me for what happened. Although, I would understand." He chuckled.
Kiara smiled, letting her anger go away for the moment, she would save it for those who really deserved it.
"I will make you a promise then." Kiara started.
Lucius looked quizzically at her, not totally understanding why, she would forgive him when he couldn't forgive himself.
"I won't become the monster they want me to be, IF, you turn yourself in. When this is all over with, I should like to see you again. You're the only other person alive that I can relate to in the matter of, Draco...." She trailed off. "Look, what I'm trying to say is, I have and always will think you my real father." She finished.
Kiara thought she saw, just for a moment, an actual tear, form in his eye. Lucius nodded then looked away.
"Ok, Kiara, we have a deal but, if you do end up, becoming the Shadow, I'll be sure to make this life short. Now, follow me and, I will take you to the edge of the forest where beyond, you'll find the castle. I guess, I've got a Ministry to seek."
They didn't speak further Lucius took her hand and they dissaperated to the forest surrounding the castle. Before Kiara had a chance to thank him, Lucius had gone again. She smiled to herself then started her hike to the castle gate.
Max apperated to the room.
"Well, my guests, what an honor it is to be in the presence of my soon to be brother-in-law and his best friend." He laughed.
Ron lunged at him.
Max nimbly jumped aside, knocking Ron across the back and watched with satisfaction as he hit the ground.
"What is it you want with us, Max." Harry, controlling the urge to do the same as Ron had, asked, as he helped Ron to his feet.
Max laughed. "You are nothing more than insurance, Harry. With you, I will make Kiara turn to me, and once she does, the sister you so totally love will become something completely different."
Harry held onto Ron, who was trying rather hard to get at Max again.
"It won't work, Max. My father tried the same thing last year, remember?" Harry replied.
Max laughed.
"No, not quite like this, you see. I not only have the two of you but I also hold the entire school in my hands. If she chooses the wrong path, she looses everyone she's ever loved. Just like Draco only, in a larger scale." He laughed, that bone chilling hair-raising laugh of his and Harry stared.
"How? How is it that you have been able to penetrate Dumbledores..." He trailed off, thinking.
Max was at that school for almost a whole year, he realized that Max could have done a great many things while he was there.
Max smiled.
"Figured it out, did you Harry? Yes, every single person I came into contact with has my mark on them. Including the two of you, why even Dumbledore has one." He laughed again. "No, there is no way out for her now."
BUMP!!!
Kiara hiked through the woods and came to an open field where, in the distance, she saw the castle that Lucius had been speaking. It stood in the middle of the field, surrounded completely by trees. It was a dark, and ominous sight. The walls, she noticed upon her approach, where stained in blood and the castle it's self seemed to emit an aurora of evil within it's very walls, goose bumps began forming on her arms and the hair at the nape of her neck stood on end. As she got closer she stopped and waited to be noticed. Soon, she found herself surrounded by Death Eaters. She put her hands out in surrender and they took her roughly in to the castle.
They had taken her to what looked to be a throne room. Kiara, stood, waiting for whom ever it was that would be greeting her. She didn't have to wait long. Before she had even had the chance to study her surroundings, her father appeared on the throne in front of her. He looked at her with a very dark and very foreboding expression written across his evil face.
"So, you have once again decided that your place is here then. Good, I hope that this time, you are less deceiving than you were the last time. I would hate to see what would happen to your friends, if Max becomes angry with you." He laughed a dark laugh.
Kiara was thrown off only by the words that suggested Max, was in charge here and NOT her father. This was a different challenge than she had come here thinking to face.
Well, that's what I get for thinking, I guess. She thought to herself, hoping that her surprise was hidden from her father, a futile hope at the least.
"What have you done with my brother and Ron?" She asked bravely, knowing she wouldn't get an answer to her question, at least not one that would be of any help to her.
"You are well informed, my child. How is it that you know so much already?" Voldem0rt asked, curious now as to how she could possibly know of their capture.
Kiara smiled, just as darkly as her father.
"I, have my ways, it is really of no importance of my means, and I think it is, more important of my motivation to come here." She replied, now standing her ground a bit more firmly.
Voldem0rt seemed a little taken aback by her present strong attitude of the current situation. He thought for a moment.
"I see you are not afraid of me any more, I guess that is to be expected. You know as well as I that your powers are to be rivaled by none. However, I think you also know the fate that will reach your brother and The Weasley if you do not, relent to the wishes of the Dark Fates vessel." He replied after a bit.
Kiara narrowed her eyes.
"Look, father, I come here to seek out Max, where is he? You know as well as I do that Harry cannot be destroyed unless I do the destroying and that, will not happen. As for Ron, I find one hair on his head in disarray when I see him, there will most certainly be hell to pay." Kiara stated quite bluntly and with a resolve that tore through even the impossible defenses that Voldemort has surrounding him.
He sat back on his throne and watched her. Hoping to come up with a reason for Max's absence. He didn't even know why he had not come by yet. He should have been here when she first showed.
"Sounds as though I have been missed, welcome Kiara." Max said, bowing slightly to her and wearing a huge grin.
Kiara glared at him, this is the one person she hated more than any one or thing in the entire world. Her anger welled up inside, thinking how easily it would be to destroy him right now, get her revenge for Draco. She was having a harder time with it than she had expected. She tore her gaze away from him and instead, looked at the floor. Still however, not trusting her self to speak or even move, lest she release her wrath upon him now and risk loosing Ron.
"You seem a little peeved with me, Kiara." He chuckled. "Go ahead, kill me, now. It's what you want, do it. I'm sure Ron will forgive you." Max chided, as he walked ever closer to her.
Kiara could feel him next to her now. Her skin crawled and she body screamed to get away but she forced herself to stand her ground. Her eyes began to glow with fury, her body shook with rage but still, she held back, thoughts of Ron, the only thing keeping her under check. Max could feel the static surrounding her aura and it made him smile.
"Frustrating, isn't it. Here I am, so close to you –" He put his head close to her neck. "Literally, breathing down your neck, relishing in the feel of your anger, and there is nothing, you can do to stop it. That is, if, you care for this, Weasley at all."
Max spoke in an evil and aggressive manor, He was now, running his hand over her shoulder and then turned her around to face him, grabbing her chin to make her look at him. Kiara didn't try to fight it. She knew that she'd have to face him sooner or later any way.
"What exactly do you want of me?" Kiara said between clenched teeth and an incredible urge to rid her self of this parasite.
Max only smiled an annoying smile, her rage seemingly unaffecting him. He looked into those now, burning eyes of hers and said, in an off hand manner that spoke of nothing more than pure disrespect for her, "I want you at my side, I assume, you received the ring? I do intend on marrying you. I do hope that you brought it with you."
His calmness only made her angrier and she had to close her eyes against the sight of him. She couldn't hold back much longer and just as she began to loose it, the fate talked to her once again.
(Not now Kiara, I won't let you loose control I can't have you loosing this one.)
Then it was gone from her mind. She felt at peace, the fate seemed to be able to stop her at will, any time it wanted. Just as it had stopped her from bringing Draco back, when she had so wanted to have him close to her again.
She opened her eyes and looked at Max, no longer with the same burning to destroy him. She reached inside her pocket and pulled out the ring of which he spoke and handed it to him.
"I have brought it." She said simply as she handed it over.
Max smiled, he knew he had come very close to having his life ended in a way he was sure would have been painful indeed. He put the ring on her finger. Kiara nearly threw up. Her whole body seemed to reel against the thought of what this could mean.
"So, we are to be wed then. I somehow thought you'd see things my way, sooner or later." Max said.
"Now, where are Ron and Harry?" Kiara asked, knowing she still would not be given the opportunity to see them. Her suspicions were correct, of course. Max shook his head.
"No, Kiara, I'm afraid I can't trust you to see them just now. I assure you, they are unharmed."
Kiara stood next to Max, and then turned to her father.
"So, this is what you seek then, A marriage between myself and this – well, him? Is this to better yourself, or is merely another fancy of yours to see me suffer further?"
Anger and contempt clearly written across her features as she spoke. This did nothing other than cause a slight grin to spread up on the cruel face of her father. He looked at her as if she were no more than a stupid child, playing a game.
"You seem to think I have every thing to do with this. You are sadly mistaken my dear daughter –" He said this with a certain amount of evil hatred in his tone. "I do not care to whom you are betrothed, I do not care if you are, I only seek power and you know as well as I that your place is at my side in the end, The Shadow of the Dark Lord, my shadow to have and control. As to your playthings, that is your affair, none of mine. If it were this one or the any other of your choosing it makes no difference however, I do think that this one, standing next to you is the better and wiser of the choices you have made. Better than the red-haired fool in my castle certainly." He finished with a certain amount of distaste in his snake-like voice.
Kiara stood there and watched the reaction of his words on the face of her greatest enemy and soon to be husband. His features showed no sign on malice or even the slightest hint of anger at Voldemort's words. She did however feel a slight anger in him at the mention of her being at her father's side in the end and not his. She knew those words suggested, as did Max, that Voldem0rt would be the one in charge again and not Max. Max then took her arm and, without so much as a word, took her from the throne room and away from her father.
Harry and Ron sat in their room, hoping for some word of what was going on.
"Why do they keep us here?" Ron finally broke the silence.
"Kiara is here, now." Harry replied.
Ron looked at him sharply.
"What is she up to? What ever possessed her to come here?" Ron said with a bit of apprehension lying in his tone.
He knew full well of the consequences she faced if not careful and he didn't like them one bit. No more than any of the others did. Only he thought he would loose even more than the rest if she became the monster that her prophecy suggested. Neither he nor Harry knew of her decision to marry Max to save Ron.
"I suppose the two of you might need to know your position in this game of ours." Voldemort said, as her appeared inside their room.
Ron and Harry turned angry faces upon him as he did so.
"Yes, I think it would be nice to know just exactly when it is that you have decided to kill me this time." Ron replied between clenched teeth.
Voldem0rt laughed, a low and menacing laugh.
"You are to be unharmed, for now. As long as Kiara is cooperating, there truly, is nothing for you to worry about." He answered Ron in a most direct manner. "It would seem, she cares for you, as repulsive as it may seem, enough to want you unharmed and so, she will do as Max asks." Voldem0rt continued.
"Just what does she have to do?" Harry inquired.
"She will marry Max." Voldem0rt replied truthfully.
Then he smiled wickedly as he gazed upon the horror stricken look that crossed both Harry's and Ron's expressions. He began, once again, to laugh.
"It world seem you do not enjoy this news? As it is keeping you alive, I would think you would welcome it." He hissed with pleasure.
""NO! She can't!" Ron started with anguish. "She can't."
He sat down hard on the chair with which he had recently stood from. His mind now racing, trying to find a way out of this forsaken place, to reach Kiara before she did this. Before she was lost to him forever. Harry laid a hand upon his shoulder, a look of hatred in his eyes. He glared at his father with more hatred than ever.
"I will kill you, if it is the last thing I ever do, I will see you die, a most horrible death." He said, lip curled in a sneer.
His rage was building and he had to turn from Voldem0rt in order to keep himself from attacking him physically

CHAPTER 4 Cornelius Fudge and the Ministry
Dumbledore arrived at in the Ministry a few hours later. He went straight to the office of Cornelius Fudge. When he got to the door, he heard a voice that he was not expecting at all, the voice of Lucius Malfoy was coming through the door to his ears. This gave Dumbledore a flash of hope. Had Lucius truly turned himself in and if he had, perhaps they would have a chance at helping Kiara out. He didn't bother knocking he simply opened the door and stepped inside.
"Albus! Good, I sent an owl for you but looks as though you arrived before it. Have a seat." Fudge motioned to a chair.
Dumbledore took the offered seat and waited to hear what it was that Fudge might have to say.
"As I am sure you have noticed, Lucius has decided to turn himself in. Isn't this great? ---" Fudge trailed off at the look of impatience on Dumbledore face.
"Did you have a pressing matter to attend to Albus? " Fudge asked.
Lucius stood on the other side of the room, surrounded by a group of Aurors. The expression on his face was a bit grave.
"Yes, as a matter of fact, I do. It seems that the Shadow has gone home. We have no way to find her and no hope of keeping her from becoming that, which will ultimately destroy us. That is unless..." Dumbledore trailed off and looked inquiringly towards Lucius. "We can strike a bargain for a lighter sentence?" He finished.
Lucius smiled. It was the first time since he left Kiara's side that he had any hope of being kept from Azkaban Prison. He cleared his throat.
"I might be willing to bargain. If, the right conditions are met." Lucius stated in his old self-absorbed tone.
Cornelius looked between the two of them.
"Wait just a minute here! How do I know that Kiara has truly gone to her father? What proof do we have?" He blurted out in a panic.
Dumbledore looked at him with a stern glare.
"Lets not go through this again Cornelius. Remember what happened the last time you failed to believe what I had to say...Kiara was nearly taken over and we lost Draco.." He trailed off and looked at Lucius
Lucius had changed masks again and now wore his emotions inside. Dumbledore understood.
Cornelius nearly choked.
"Now Albus, certainly you don't lay blame there on me? I only did what I thought to be the right thing. Using Kiara in that way was, a good idea, you even agreed, in the end." He stated, sweat now beginning to build on his forehead as he looked fearfully at Lucius and back to Dumbledore.
"If you want proof, I saw her to the place myself." Lucius stated.
"And just what makes you believe we will take your word for it, Lucius. You just stood here listening to the fact that you would receive a lighter punishment if you could tell us where she is." Fudge retorted. Now standing his ground again like the arrogant man he is.
"What other choice do we have Cornelius? He is the only one coming forward to state that he even saw her between the time she left and now. You can't afford to not to listen to him, if we don't find her, your position as Minister will most certainly be at stake. The people will go against you this time. They have had enough of Voldemort."
Cornelius cringed at the mention of his name.
"They want him put away or killed this time, we can't fail them." Dumbledore finished.
Cornelius stood, thinking, you could almost hear the veins popping in his head. A nerve at his temple had begun to twitch. He didn't look all to well at all. Dumbledore had stated a fact that he knew he couldn't ignore.
"All right, you win. Lucius, what is your price? Bear in mind that you may not get all that you want but I am sure, we can make a deal." Cornelius finally spoke.
His voice had less than the effect he had hoped, he may have even squeaked like the stuck pig he is.
Lucius didn't smile he didn't even look as though he were happy about his situation at all; he stood there and thought things over for a moment. When finally he did speak, his words were steady and precise.
"I can tell you where she is if you promise that I will not have to take one step into that Prison. The Dementors are siding with Voldemort, more and more every day and a traitor amongst their midst, well you can imagine." He looked between Dumbledore and Cornelius then continued. "Also, I want my old position back and my home released back to me. Or, you can give it over to Kiara, when and if, you retrieve her." He finished.
His last words stuck both Dumbledore and Cornelius off guard. They hadn't expected him to pull this card. They knew it would take a lot to get the support to reinstate his position. Then, Kiara, Dumbledore wondered, was their something more to Lucius now than had at first, come to his attention? Dumbledore had a hard time, at first, figuring out why Lucius had told them they could give his home to Kiara however, he now thought he knew the answer.
But why was he stalling? What possible reason could he have to ask for his position back other than to stall for time? Dumbledore thought to himself.
"Certainly we could keep you out if Azkaban, but to have you reinstated in to you old position? Outrageous! How do you expect me to accomplish this? Although it is a nice gesture of you to offer your home to Kiara, I think we could give it back to you. I don't fully understand your statement there but I am sure you have your reasons." Cornelius stated firmly.
He was now pacing across the floor with his hands behind his back. Clearly worried about what Lucius had asked.
"I will not give in to any other options. I must be reinstated or no deal." Lucius said firmly.
He knew his demand was outrageous however; he had to stall for time. If he sent the Ministry into their midst now, Kiara wouldn't have the time to kill Max and that, was the thing he wanted more than anything else. He knew the risk, he could spend some time in the prison so the Ministry could debate his offer but to Lucius, it was more than worth the risk.
Cornelius paced the floor of his office some more then turned to Lucius.
"Ok, I will see what I can do, but until then, you will be staying in the cell here at the Ministry." He nodded to the Aurors who took Lucius from the room and down the hall to a top security room in which he would be spending quite a lot of time.
Dumbledore stood, a grim expression on his aged face.
"You do know that every minute we waste in useless debate, brings Kiara that much closer to becoming that which we fear more than anything else." He said in a flat, emotionless tone.
Then, not waiting for an answer, he left the office and down the hall.
Cornelius Fudge stood in his office alone, thinking for a moment as to how this would all look to the public. That was what he cared about, not anything else. Finally, he sat down in his chair and wrote a memo and sent it flying out his door. He would have to summon a council meeting and figure out what to do with Lucius.

CHAPTER 5 TIME WE DO NOT HAVE
Kiara stood in her room looking out the window at the ocean. She noticed the shear drop from the height of the castle to the ocean below. Surely, any one who fell from this height would die, smashed below upon the rocks and carried out to sea by the tide. She was forming a plan, one that could free Ron and Harry and hopefully, keep her from turning into the monster; she worked so hard to keep from becoming. She sighed a heavy sigh.
Well, there are always the rocks, if I can't overcome this obstacle. She thought to herself.
She had been at the castle now for several days. Every day was the same thing.
Wait, not yet. That is what the Fate kept telling her.
I am running out of time! She thought angrily. Why must I wait here with my impending marriage so close at hand? It is the last thing I want and the only thing, to save Ron.
She sat down on the couch, next to the fire and watched as it rose to her anger. She smiled a bit. At least, I haven't lost you old friend. She said quietly to the fire in the hearth.
"Talking to ones self isn't a good sign you know." Max said as he walked into the room.
"How long have you been there?" Kiara asked, more than a little annoyed at his presence.
"I only just arrived, my dear. We are to wed in two days time. I do hope you have found your wedding gown, to you liking. As you would not choose one, I was forced to choose for you." Max continued, now sitting himself across from her.
"Ya, sure, black is the perfect color to wear to ones funeral." Kiara replied sarcastically.
Max raised a brow in amusement.
"Is marrying me really that repulsive to you? I would have thought that after Draco, a real man would be a relief to you." He said in a flat, unemotional tone, staring into her eyes and smiling as they came to life once again in a flash.
"That's right, keep it up Max, you'll soon get yours. I only have to wait until this ridiculous wedding of yours is over then, I can do as I please with you. Trust me, dearest--" She turned on him, her eyes blazing and her aura in a great turmoil "--I won't forget your words, any of them and when I do become the monster that you and my father are so anxious to create, you will be my first casualty." She said between clenched teeth.
Max sat there in thought for a moment, clearly he hadn't thought about this too adeptly.
Kiara saw a moment of panic cross his otherwise confident manner. Then it was replaced with a smirk.
"Clearly, we will have to be certain that you don't, remember these conversations of ours. I can arrange for that."
Then with that said, he stood, walked over to her, kissed her on the lips and then walked out of the room.
Kiara sent several books flying after him as he went, each one deflected by Max as he disappeared around the corner.
She walked over to the window once again and started staring out it, the same thoughts once again filling her head, the thoughts of her bashing herself upon the rocks if she couldn't accomplish this task.
Harry had been brought to another room and was waiting to see his sister. Max had told him he could talk with her momentarily. Kiara arrived in the room; Harry went straight over and hugged her. Kiara hugged him back happily.
"Where's Ron?" She turned to Max and asked; knowing of course that to get Ron in here with her would be impossible.
"Good try Kiara. I only allow you to see Harry so I can prove to you that they are fine and that no harm has befallen them, yet. Besides, no one but you can kill Harry on the other hand ---" He left it hanging. Knowing he had made his point perfectly clear.
"Ya, what ever." Kiara replied then turned to Harry.
"Is Ron ok? Physically, I mean. No one has hurt him have they?" Kiara asked.
Harry smiled at her.
"Yes Kiara, he is fine. I only hope---" Harry trailed off and looked over to Max, not wanting to discuss any plans in front of him.
Kiara sighed. If only she could tell him she had found a way to escape. It would be so much easier if she could but alas, she would have to trust in Harry's quick wit for her plan to work. They only had a few minutes to talk then Harry was taken away again.
"Tomorrow is the wedding Harry. What can we do?" Ron asked, clearly going into a panicked state.
"She has a plan, I could feel it in her, just follow my lead tomorrow, I don't know how she has figured this out but, it might get ugly." Harry replied.
"Max made his last mistake, she is going to kill him this time. I could also feel that. What ever she has planned, she plans on getting us the hell out of here first." He continued.
Ron smiled then frowned.
"What if she can't do it, what if the fate decides that we can't leave? And don't say we'll have to let fate decide Harry, it's not what I really want to hear just now." Ron replied a little peevishly.
"All right, I won't but you know that's what it has to be." Harry stated quite frankly.
"Thanks." Ron replied sarcastically.
BUMP!!!
"I do hope you don't expect things to go your way tomorrow Max." Voldem0rt said in an amused tone.
Max was pacing the floor to the throne room, obviously nervous about the wedding and what was to come after.
"Of course I don't!" He snapped. "This has to happen the way I planned otherwise, everything goes out of our court! Time is a luxury we no longer enjoy, it must happen tomorrow and she has to be turned. There is no other choice." Max continued.
He was still pacing the floor, but stopped as he heard Voldemort begin to laugh.
"What is it?" Max asked now becoming annoyed with him.
"You have finally realized that Kiara has just as good a chance at winning this as you do, that's what is so amusing. You could very well die tomorrow, how does that make you feel?' Voldemort answered with amusement.
Max had become more and more arrogant from the time he found out he was the Fates choice and Voldemort was now quite enjoying his sudden realization that he, Max, wasn't all powerful.
"You could die tomorrow too, you know!" Max retorted, not having any better argument than that.
"No, Max, Voldemort doesn't die. I will continue to reap havoc on this world until the end of time. Even if I loose my mortal body, life will not go on with out me."
He now laughed a bone chilling dark laugh that even cut through Max. Max turned and found himself facing, for the first time in a year, the all-powerful figure he had always cringed before, Max backed down, confusion riddling his mind. He had let himself grow weak in the moment and now, he would pay for that weakness, he knew. So, instead of staying in the same room of this mad man, he decided to go seek out Kiara.
Perhaps a little tormenting her will do me good. He thought as he left the throne room.
Kiara was walking around the only place that gave her piece of mind, the garden. She finally settled on a bench, underneath a willow tree and closed her eyes, trying, within this turmoil, to remember the times she and Draco had spent in the garden under her room.
"I hope that smile is for the thoughts of our honeymoon." Max said as he walked over and sat beside Kiara.
Kiara's eye's popped open and her smile faded as reality reared its ugly head, once again.
"No, I was just thinking of the many different ways I might torture and kill you after our marriage." She retorted, now wearing an evil grin of her own. "Yes, I think that your slowly burning body shall hang over the cliffs until it turns to ashes and the wind spreads them over the ocean to be disintegrated. And I shall delight in listening to your anguished screams of pain whilst sipping on our wedding champagne." She finished with a chilling undertone to her voice.
Max shuddered. "And here, I thought you loved me." He said sarcastically. Pretending not to let her words bother him in the least.
"Well I have other plans that consist of you, me and a bed. Simple but really much more pleasant, don't you agree?" He said in a taunting manner.
Kiara winced.
"Don't say such things after I have eaten, I am liable to loose my dinner." She said in a matter of fact tone. Now holding eye contact with him.
"You hurt my feelings Kiara. I do nothing but well for you and you repay me with no more than insults. I know, my wedding present to you will be Ron's head on a platter, would you like that? If not, I would be a little bit more polite to me, if I were you. There may come a time in the near future that your cooperation will be, shall we say, worth the lives of not only your dearest Ron but your godfather, as well." Max grinned as he looked upon her confusion.
"What ever do you speak of Max? You don't have Dumbledore caged up in this forsaken place, what makes you think you could ever even..." Kiara trailed off as she came to the same realization as Harry did a few days earlier. "No! I swear, if you do anything to him." Kiara was more panicked now than ever before.
"Yes my dear, I can and I will. I touched ever so many lives when I was at that school of yours last year. Just think of the possibilities. For their sake, I hope you plan on going through with this and beyond." He said with mock concern, as he reached out and brought her to face him once again.
He held her trembling chin in his hand and smiled wickedly into her hurt and lost eyes. He now had her trapped and he knew it. Even if she did manage to get Ron to freedom, somehow, she'd still have to obey his wishes, if, she wanted Dumbledore left unharmed.
For Kiara, there was only one answer to the problem and that, was the last thing she wanted but she was more than willing to loose her own life to save the others, or would it save them? Now she wasn't even sure of that. What if he killed them anyway, just for spite? She continued to tremble uncontrollably.
Max wouldn't let her go he held her facing him, seemingly delighting over her sorrow. Her hatred rose again, and she tired of the game, she wanted out.
{Sorry Kiara, it's not over yet. You still have a choice to make and tomorrow will be the time} the fate spoke to her just now.
A calm swept over her and she reached up, grasping Max's hand and tore it away from her chin. She then stood, turned to him and smiled.
"Tomorrow then." She said peacefully.
Kiara turned and walked away, nothing more to say and not wanting to remain in his company a moment longer. A sudden thought crossed her mind and she stopped and turned one last time to Max.
"Just one request, if I may, one wish for you to grant your bride. Might we move the ceremony outdoors? I was thinking along the cliffs. It is, beautiful out there and --" Kiara let it slide there.
Max thought a moment.
"Ok, I will grant you your wish. However, if we are to hold it outdoors, as you say, I must advise that there will be Death Eaters to watch over our special guests." Max replied.
"Very well, if it must be then I can deal with it. Thank you."
She then turned back around and walked away.
Max simply watched her walk away, no longer feeling the need to dominate her further. He sat on the bench, thinking of how he was to prevent Voldemort's rise again after Kiara came in to control.
Harry and Ron sat in there enclosure, talking.
"We have run out of time here, Ron. Everything is up to Kiara, if she so chooses to go along with Max and his wedding, you have to keep calm, she's doing it for a good reason. Don't go all nuts. It is keeping you alive and that's why she's playing their game." Harry said.
"I know Harry, but I would rather die than witness Kiara marry that Pratt! It may be what is keeping me alive for now but what about after? As I understand it, if she marries Max, she has given into the dark fate." Ron replied as he paced the floor.
"No, it's not just marrying him that will seal her fate, there's more to it than that. I think, she has one last task to do and I think it has to do with keeping you alive. I remember her saying something about the fate telling her she can't let you die." Harry shrugged. "Who really knows, but Max and Kiara? They are the main characters in this game for now."
He stopped and looked over to Ron who, was looking really upset, even more so than before.
"What is it?" Harry asked.
"If she marries him then, well, It seems to me that she can't be married to two people. Ok, perhaps I'm being ridiculous but, really Harry, what if she marries him, we escape and so does he? Then she will still be married and then ---" He let it hang in the sir.
Harry couldn't help it he started to laugh.
Ron looked a bit sheepish and started to laugh too.
"Ok, I am being ridiculous." Ron laughed.
Kiara wasn't paying attention as she entered her room, had she been she would have stopped the attack. She suddenly found herself tossed against the far wall and held there by some unseen force. As she was just ready to ask who was there, she heard his laugh.
"Your not paying attention girl. I just though we should have a little talk. A talk concerning your brother and that pathetic Muggle lover you are so fond of." Voldemort hissed.
His manor was aggressive and dangerous. Kiara recognized it immediately and she relaxed.
"Ok, father, what is it you want of me?" She asked instinctively.
Voldemort paced her room, then stopped and turned towards Kiara, his eyes burning into her very soul. She squirmed against his gaze and he smiled a wicked evil smile.
"So, you are still frightened of me. Good, I had hoped you were. That only proves that you are not as blind as I had thought."
He let her slide down from her position on the wall then turned his back on her again.
"You do realize there is no way out for you and every one you hold so dear to that outrageously kind heart of yours, don't you? After tomorrow, you will be mine and I just wanted to let you know up front that the first thing you can do is kill your annoying brother. I still hold that against you, you know, you deprived me of ever knowing the satisfaction that killing Harry Potter would have given me and I think to repay you for your kindness, I will personally kill Ron for you." He smiled.
"If you touch him, I won't be so easily cooperative. You will find that even though, yes, I do fear you, I am not afraid to kill you."
Kiara's eyes narrowed and were now just as red as her fathers, only hers, glowed with a certain intensity that spoke worlds of hatred.
"Threats, Kiara? They don't become you, you know. You can't touch me, I know this as do you and once your brother is dead, none can touch me, and unless you know something I do not, I have won." Voldemort answered calmly.
Kiara clenched her fists and turned away from her father. She had to hold out, she now knew that he too, was going to try and be sure that Ron died. However, unlike Max, she knew that Voldemort knew that Ron was the key to him winning.
"So, you are going to attend the wedding tomorrow then?" Kiara asked.
"No, I will not attend such an atrocity. Ironic, isn't it. Your father finds something as simple as a wedding to be repulsive enough not to witness it." He laughed again. By no means a happy laugh more like a dark, hating laugh.
"No, I find it to be unsurprising. Max has, after all, been the one person in your life that has at least, for the moment, over powered you. I think I find that personally amusing." Kiara answered, now wearing a mocking smile that she happily turned on her father.
"CRUCIO!" Voldemort yelled in vain.
Kiara easily blocked his spell, further adding to her mocking smile.
"I don't think so father, not this time. I have a wedding to prepare for, please leave me now." She turned and walked to the other room and waited until she heard her father exit the main part of her room then returned and sat silently on a chair next to the fire.
Chapter 6 THE WEDDING AND THE CHOICE
The next morning dawned early for Kiara, Harry and Ron. Today was possibly the most important day in their young lives. Certainly it was the day that Ron would either live or die but it was much more than that.
Harry and Kiara had been born for a purpose. That purpose was to play out a game. Not just any game, but a game the whole world depended upon. If Kiara made a mistake, the world, as they all knew it, would be lost to them. The two fates, had decided they couldn't live together in harmony any longer, and instead of battling it out themselves, which would have destroyed the planet, they decided upon a game of sorts. Each made their own choices for playthings, and each, in the end, had agreed that who ever lost would simply disappear. Today was the destined day to end the game.
Sixteen years ago, this game could have ended had not the dark fate cheated and allowed its vessel to survive. Then again last year, the light fate had cheated by allowing Ron to live and letting Draco die. When this happened, the dark fate changed vessels. Now, the choice had to be made solely on Kiara and yes, Harry, although he didn't realize it yet, he too, had a decision to make. If he were to choose wrongly today, the game will continue even if Kiara chooses correctly. However, if Kiara chooses correctly, she will be released from service of the light fate and it would then turn solely to Harry and the game would continue.
Kiara awoke in her room to find that her wedding gown had been brought to her and that there were several servants, waiting for her when she got up. She walked to the dressing room and looked, with great distaste, upon her wedding gown.
All right, if I must. She thought to herself and began to dress.
The gown was solid black with a plunging neckline that went clear down to her midsection. The jewelry that had been brought to her consisted of a black-diamond necklace and of course, her engagement ring, which, she put on once again, despite the churning in her stomach.
The servants came in after a bit and led her to another room and began working on her hair. Kiara objected at first but decided she was fighting a loosing battle so relented to their attempts at making her up.
Harry and Ron were brought out to a room facing the back lawn. They were kept inside and guarded by several Death-Eaters. Ron paced nervously and Harry stared at the cliffs beyond.
"I hope this is over fast. I don't know how much longer I can stand to wait." Ron said.
Harry only nodded his agreement. His mind was on other things, such as how to keep the two of them alive, long enough for Kiara to do what ever it was she had planned.
********
Dumbledore sat in the courtroom awaiting the final decision of the Court. If they chose not to grant Lucius his demands, then all hope of retrieving Kiara, Harry and Ron, was lost. Or so he thought.
As the morning turned to afternoon, Kiara was brought, finally, to the courtyard along the cliffs. She looked around and noticed Ron and Harry, surrounded by several Death-Eaters. Then, taking a deep breath, she allowed herself to be escorted to stand next to Max.
The ceremony was under way. In the end, the Dark Priest said, "You may kiss the Bride."
Max leaned in and kissed Kiara who's, hands clenched into fists.
Max turned to the Death -Eaters behind them.
"Kill him." He commanded.
"No! You promised!" Kiara backed away towards the cliffs.
"I lied." Max returned with a sneer, then realized what Kiara was about to do and he held his hand up to halt his last order.
"What ever are you doing Kiara?" Max asked. "You'll only succeed in killing your self. What good would that do?" He finished.
"Kiara no, don't!" Ron tried to get to her but was held back by the Death Eaters.
"Don't worry Ron, I can fly." Kiara said as she let herself fall backwards over the cliff.
Suddenly everything was in turmoil, Harry seized the opportunity.
"Accio Wand!" Her yelled.
Rapidly he had a wand in his hand. He stunned a Death Eater and Ron grabbed the wand from the fallen wizard. He and Harry began to make their way back toward the castle.
Suddenly there was a loud roaring and the sound of giant wings, beating the air and, a Huge Horntail rose from beneath the cliffs, spraying the wedding guests with fire as it rose ever higher.
Harry and Ron froze, momentarily until Ron noticed a smile begin to spread across Harry's face.
"What?" asked Ron as Harry pushed him through the door.
"Kiara, she really can fly." Harry answered.
"You don't mean?" Ron said, his face paling a bit, as they continued fighting their way across the hall of the castle and toward the far door.
Max looked on in horror as the Horntail descended upon him. Try, as he might, no spell he could think of detoured it. Suddenly, it grabbed him and flew off. The two of them disappeared beyond the mist.
There was a loud POP and the castle grounds were full of Aurors. They began rounding up Death Eaters.
Harry and Ron had been forced in to another room. In front of them, stood Voldemort..
Harry and Ron froze. Harry looked between his father and Ron. Voldemort had his wand out and pointed at Ron's chest.
"It would seem Harry, that you have two choices." Voldemort sneered. "One, attack me and loose your friend. Sure, I'll be out of the way but what would Kiara think?" He paused. "Or two, you can let me go, I can't harm you so this would be beneficial to the two of us. We can always play again, at a later date. What do you do?" He finished.
Harry gritted his teeth in anger. This was the perfect opportunity to destroy his father, once and for all and he couldn't do anything about it.
"You win, Voldemort. Go, but remember, this isn't finished, I will kill you." Harry stated.
Voldemort laughed his vile laugh.
"Yes Harry, we will meat again. Only the next time we do, I'll be sure to have come up with a way for you to die. You can be assured of that." With those words left echoing in the air, Voldemort vanished.
{You do realize that by letting him go, you've let this game continue?} The fate echoed in Harry's ear.
"Oh, shut up!" Harry yelled with great anger in his voice.
{Really, you didn't have to yell.} The fate said then it was gone.
Ron looked at Harry.
"Let me guess. It's not over. Is it?" He asked.
"No Ron, it's not. Lets get out of here. I'm sure we'll see Kiara when we get back." Harry replied
BACK TO SCHOOL
Harry and Ron walked into the Gryffindor common room. Everyone went silent. Hermione turned towards the door and froze. The two boys walked a few more steps into the room and stopped, both were wearing huge grins. Suddenly, Hermione gained herself again and ran to them, nearly knocking them both over as she hugged them.
"Easy Hermione." Ron said with a smile.
"Easy he says. Indeed. You two, I --" She was, for the first time Ron could remember, speechless.
"We two what, Mione?" Harry said as he pulled her closer and planted a huge kiss on her lips.
"I wasn't sure I'd ever get the chance to do that again." Harry smiled.
Hermione started to cry, as she held tight to Harry.
Ron walked over to a chair and sat down.
"Where is Kiara?" Hermione finally asked, after getting control of her emotions.
Ron looked at Harry then back to Hermione.
"Actually, she hasn't come back yet. Harry assures me she's fine though." Ron answered, not really feeling to sure.
"She is Ron, My chest has been radiating that familiar warmth she likes to send me when she is particularly happy. I'm sure she'll be back ---" He trailed off as the door to the common room opened.
"Miss me?" Kiara asked as she walked into the room.
Ron jumped off the couch and grabbed her up, swinging her around then kissed her, stopped, smiled at her and then kissed her again.
"I love you to Ron." Kiara said in a happy tone, almost too happy.
Harry gave her a sideways glance but decided to leave it be for now.
The whole of the Gryffindor House, by that time had begun to swarm around the three, asking questions and shaking their hands. After what seemed hours, Kiara told them she should really get to her own House. Ron insisted on going with her. Clearly, he had no intentions of letting her out of his sight, anytime soon.
Later, after things had calmed down and dinner was over. Harry, Ron, Kiara and Hermione, found a nice quite place to sit and talk. It had been quite some time since the four of them had sat together like this and it was a relief, to finally be able to do so.
"So you mean to tell me that it isn't over?" Hermione stated more than asked.
"No, Hermione. Not for me anyway. The fate says that Kiara has one last thing to do but after she completes it, she's done and can live her life. I, however, still have Voldemort to contend with. Evidently, it's my job to see to it that he is disposed of correctly." Harry replied, a little sarcastically.
"By the way Kiara, do you know what it is that you still need to take care of?" He finished.
Kiara looked at the three of them then to Harry specifically.
"It's something I will take care of tomorrow." Then she looked at Ron and smiled. "Sorry Ron, I will need to leave you for a few more days, but please, don't worry, I'll be fine." She finished.
"So, I take it your not going to tell us what it is." Ron said.
Kiara shook her head.
"No Ron, I'm not. I can only say that it is between Lucius and myself. There is nothing you can do to help it. I must talk with him. Now, no more questions." Kiara turned to Ron and kissed his cheek.
The four of them sat up most the night talking. When finally it came time to say their good nights, it was beginning to get light out. Kiara went with them to the Gryffindor common room, said goodnight to Harry and Hermione then turned to Ron.
"I'm leaving now. Please, don't follow." She said, kissing his cheek once again.
Ron frowned.
"Already?" He asked with a sad face.
"Oh stop. I'll be back before you know it then we can graduate and live our lives in peace. I just have to take care of this one last problem, that's all."
With that said, Kiara hugged Ron and left the common room.
On her way out of the castle, she crossed paths with Professor Dumbledore.
"Kiara, where are you off to this early?" He asked.
"Lucius. I must talk with Lucius." She replied, smiling at her godfather.
Dumbledore nodded and she was off.
yes, please continue. :)
Unfinished Business
Lucius stood against a tree at the spot he had last seen Kiara. He wondered what this was all about. Suddenly, he heard her voice behind him.
"Good Morning Lucius, I see that you did indeed get my owl. Good." Kiara said as she began walking towards him.
"Yes Kiara I did, what is this --" He trailed off and an angry expression suddenly took over his features. "What is HE, doing here, I thought you killed him." Lucius said furiously.
Kiara smiled as she pushed Max to the ground in front of her.
"What, and deny you the pleasure of watching? I wouldn't dream of it." She said with an evil grin pasted on her beautiful face.
Lucius began to grin, his anger forgotten completely.
"I knew I liked you." He said.
Then giving Max a harsh stare turned to Kiara.
"So, what do you have planned?" He asked.
This earned him a giant grin from Kiara.
"Well, I made him a promise that I intend to keep ---" She answered.
Max, let out a small feeble gasp as the realization set in as to how he was to meet his end.
The sun was high in the afternoon sky. There wasn't a cloud to be seen and they could hear the birds signing their songs as Lucius and Kiara settled in the lawn chairs they had placed next to the round table. The Champaign was chilled in an ice bucket. Lucius pulled the cork off the bottle and poured some into each of their glasses. Kiara looked down at hers.
"And to think, he actually wanted wine, but I insisted that our wedding drink would have to be champagne, and it seems as though, there is quite a lot of it. Shame Harry couldn't be here to enjoy it with us. But alas, he would have objected to our entertainment." Kiara said in an offhand manner.
She then waved her hand and suddenly an anguished scream could be heard over the sounds of the bird's song. Lucius and Kiara looked out over the cliffs as Max hung, suspended in the air alight with flames. Kiara turned to Lucius.
"A toast to out new friendship." She raised her glass. Lucius did the same.
"Here, here." He replied as they clinked their glasses together and drank.
"So, they really reinstated you?" Kiara asked as Max let out yet another scream.
"Oh, can't you die a bit quieter?" Kiara chided then waved her hand again and Max could no longer make any further sound. "Better, I'm sorry for that rather rude interruption. Well?" Kiara finished.
Lucius smiled.
"Yes they did, surprisingly. Also, I got the place back. You are more than welcome to come visit, any time you wish. As a matter of fact, I went so far as to put your name on my holdings as well. I guess you can say I, adopted you. So to speak." He told her.
Lucius and Kiara talked until well past dark when they decided to finally go inside. Max's body, as promised by Kiara, had been swept away by the evening breeze to be disintegrated in the ocean. Finally, Lucius and Kiara both found that they were satisfied that Draco's death, had been avenged.
{You did good Kiara; I'll miss talking to you.} The fate said its last words to her as she stepped inside the castle.
Kiara smiled. Good by and, hey, take care of Harry, will ya. She thought to it.
:o wow Kiara!
BUMP!!! GREAT STORY!!!!! ;D ;)
Kiara returned to school three days later, as promised. She looked and felt better than she had in years. The first thing she did when she got back was to go to Professor Snapes office and Thank him for watching out for her all those times when she had been forced to play her fathers games. Professor Snape didn't really know how to handle this but assured her that he had no choice in the matter and said that she was welcome any way.
Harry met Kiara in the hall as she was leaving Snape's office.
"What was all that about?" He asked as he peered inside the office at a very confused looking Snape.
"Oh that, I just thanked him, that's all." Kiara shrugged.
"No wonder he looks confused. I don't think anyone has ever thanked Professor Snape for a single thing. At least, not a student." Harry answered with a light smile.
"Where's Ron?" Kiara asked.
"Oh, he went into town with Hermione, they will be back shortly." Harry answered.
"Oh really? And Dumbledore let them go? How is that?" Kiara asked suspiciously.
Harry only smiled.
"It was for a good cause and Dumbledore seemed to agree to the fact." Was all he'd say in the matter.
"So, what now? I mean you still have to go after Father, right? Do you think it'll happen any time soon?" Kiara asked.
Harry winked at her.
"Kiara, I already took care of that but no, Voldemort isn't dead. I've sent him to a place to think about things for a while." Harry replied.
Kiara looked at him questionably.
"Where, or should I say what did you do?" She asked, her interest now peeked very high.
"Well, I had a choice, I could let him go and continue this stupid game. I could attempt to kill him and risk loosing Ron or, could let him think he was let go and trap him. I of course chose to trap him. He is sitting in a top security prison right now. You see, when I let him dissaperated, I threw a spell at him just as he was disappearing from sight; it knocked him off his track and sent him to this place. I can't tell you where, at least not now. So don't ask, please." Harry explained.
Kiara's eyes brightened.
"You mean to tell me we're free. No more Fate this or Fate that?" She asked excitedly.
"No, Kiara, I'm not. Not until that is I decide its time for Voldem0rt to die. The fate is really upset with me however. It would seem, they, the fates, hadn't planned on this option and we're too busy with you to stop it so, well, you know, I didn't let fate decide." Harry said with a very smug look.
Kiara laughed.
"Good, it's about time we had the chance to cheat."
"Yes, Kiara, I agree, only problem is, now that I tricked them, they won't let me near him which means I can't kill him. So, I suppose this may go on for longer than we really wanted. You won't mind that if sometime in the future, I ask for your help with something will you." Harry said with a slight look of apology on his face.
Kiara smiled at him, a smile that told him that no matter how hard it would be, she'd help him in any way possible. She didn't have to answer.

Kiara.
I WILL POST THIS ENDING WITH IN TE WEEK> THIS I DO PROMISE YOU< MY READERS>
One year later, Kiara stands in the dressing room; Hermione is putting the final touches to her hair.
"You look so pretty Kiara. I think Ron might faint when he sees you walk down that isle to him."
"I certainly hope not." Kiara replied with a wink.
Some one knocked at the door.
"I'll get it Kiara." Ginny said.
Ginny walked over and opened up the door and then stepped out side.
"What are you doing over here Harry, it's almost time."
"I need to talk to Kiara, I know this isn't the best time and all but. Come on Ginn, let me talk to her, its not like I'm the groom or anything." Harry persisted.
"Oh, all right, but this better be quick, she needs to meet you and Ron out there in ten minutes."
Ginny opened up the door and let him through.
"Harry?" Kiara said, looking confused as to why he was here and not with Ron.
"Don't worry, Ron hasn't fainted or anything like that, although, after one look at you, he just might." He started then lost his smile and looked at her seriously. "Remember last year when I asked if I could call on you if I needed you for anything?" He said, looking at her, his emerald eyes matching the color of hers and looking for the entire world like he was very sorry.
"Now really isn't such a good time Harry." Kiara replied, raising a brow.
"Well, not RIGHT now, but later, after the wedding. I got a message and Voldemort has been set free again. I need to go to the Ministry, they think you, for some reason set him free."
"WHAT!" Kiara yelled then sighed. "I suppose I'll have Aurors at my wedding then?"
"Absolutely not Kiara, that's why I need to make sure you will come with me after."
"Does Ron know?"
"Not yet. I thought it best we didn't say anything till after you two got hitched."
Kiara smiled slightly.
"In other words, you're going to leave it up to me to tell him then." He replied with less than a happy tone. "Very well, you best get going, we'll straighten this all out after the wedding." She finished, giving Harry a kiss on his cheek.
Harry turned to walk out.
"Oh, and thanks Harry. I owe you one."
Harry smiled and then left.
"It's time Kiara, they are waiting." Lavender some on and told her.
Kiara walked form the room and started her walk down the isle the wedding had started.
"WHAT!" Ron yelled.
"Sorry Ron." Kiara said, looking a little apologetic.
Ron kissed his bride then sighed.
"You better go, might want to get out of you're gown first though, you might look a bit crazy showing up at the Ministry wearing it." He said.
"Oh Ron, I won't be gone long, I just need to find out why they think I did it. That's all. I'll be back before you know it and we can get on with our party. Don't get too drunk with out me now. K?"
"Be careful, this could all be a trick you know."
"I know. See you in a bit."
ENDING?
Kiara, still in her wedding gown, walked with Harry to the room her father was imprisoned in. She knelt beside the chair and picked up a piece of parchment.
"What's this Harry?" She asked, opening it up.
"How should I know, none of us could open it. Looks as though it was written for you and you only." Harry replied, looking over his shoulder at the Aurors walking in after them.
Kiara turned her head and gazed at them then returned her attention back to the letter.
She read it though once; then again out loud for all to hear.
Kiara,
By the time you read this, I will have gone. Keep your eyes peeled and don't forget to look behind you from time to time. I have been set free by the Fate and it ussures me tat we will meet again.
Just a friendly warning form your father to you that next time, I will not fail. Tell your brother that he needs to be careful; I'm on the trail for something that I can use to destroy him.
Looking forward to our next meeting. Have fun while it lasts.
Voldemort.
Kiara closed the parchment and then handed it to one of the Aurors. "There, that should clear my name." Then she turned to Harry. "Looks as though this isn't over, I suppose tricking the Fates was probably not a good idea, guess now, I'm back in the game again." She finished, standing with a great sigh.
"I'm sorry Kiara, I didn't think this would happen, I though for sure, they'd keep you out of it this time. I guess I was wrong." Harry replied.
"Oh, don't look so sad Harry, at least we know that we'll be working together again. That is, after Ron and I get back from our honeymoon.
"Ya, you're right. Oh, and have loads of fun in New York.' Harry Potter replied with a smile.
ok, you just can't end it htere, you must write another book...that is, please?
