The Beginning
Neither knew that they would be meeting eachother for the first time, and neither knew that both their parents would be murdered. As dawn arose one morning, Lavender Potter awoke to her parents`s usual morning chat, though this morning it was strained. Lavender knew that Voldamort was threatening them, but she didnt know what those consequences would mean, as she was only two years old. She sat up, got dressed, and walked down the staircase to the kitchen, where she saw her mother, Lily Potter, her father, James Potter, and her little brother, Harry Potter, who was one year old. Lavender always knew her brother was special, but never expected anything great of him at his lttle age. She sat down and started on her toast, though she did it quietly, making shure that she didn`t miss a word her parents said. Her mother was accusing Remus Lupin as the Spy, but her father refused to accept it. Lavender was used to this so she tuned out of their conversation to her brother. Instinctively she wiped his mouth where he had dribbled and spooned him another bite of Applesause. When Breakfast was over it was the time when Sirius came over, the time when Harry bounced off the walls and Sirius read them stories of the Three Little Wizards and they had a good ol` time. Though today he didn`t come.Her dad said he was busy with shopping, though Lavender didn`t believe it. She knew all about the Order and how many people were getting torchered and murdered, even though she didnt want to believe it.

The morning passed quietly, Harry slept the most of it and Lavender just read books quietly as her parents worked restlessy on paperwork at the Kitchen table. 6:00p.m. came and passed, and the house was still quiet, so Lavender decided to nick her dads broom out of the closet and fly in the woods out back. As soon as she reached the outer rim, she heard screams and yells. She ran to the door and grabbed her fathers wand when she heard footsteps. She jumped on her broom and flew back outside. She watched helplessy as Voldamort Murdered her parents, and turned his wand on Harry, with a flash of green light she saw, not Harry dead, but Voldemort, or that was what it looked like at first. With a burning pain in her arm she lifted up her robes and watched a lightning bolt scar appear. She had to flee. Death Eaters were approaching every wich way, so, pocketing her fathers wand, she was chased far into the forest alone, to survive on the wilderness and the magic she possesed, and that she could use as anybody who even knew of her thought her dead. With that came the ability to use Magic illegally underage.

She wandered the forest, looking for a place to hide, when, out of nowhere, a flash of red light hit her broom and she was knocked off. Angry, she stood up and yelled, ``Who did that?`` In responce, two boys stepped into the clearing, each with a wand extended. The taller, and more muscular looking one, lowered his wand and just smiled at her. ``S`ok Jeremy.`` he said, ``Its just a girl.`` He extended his hand, ``Hello, my names Zack, and this here`s my best friend Jeremy.`` Lavender shook both their hands, ``Lavender Potter. Nice to meet you. Why Are you out here anyway? Why arent you at home with you parents?``
``Well, actually, were in the same situation as you, ours were murdered by Voldamort too.``
``How`d you-``
``Saw it. The whole thing. Good you ran into this forest here. Its really hard to find stuff if you dont know your way around.``
``And you do?`` smiling as he nods, ``Then can you show me where I can sleep and find food for a couple of years?``
``Well.......the only place I know of is this humongus cave.....but Jeremy and I are living there.``
``Is there any more room? At all?``
At this point Zack goes over and huddles with Jeremy for a moment, then comes back, ``Yeah, theres room. C`mon, I`ll show you where it is.``

Six years passed, and they had all reached the age of eight years old. Over the years they had taught eachother spells, potions, and most inportant, loyalty and friendship. They all, as strong as they were, were ready to brave an unnoticed enter to the Wizarding World. Diagon Ally was their first finding. There they bought Cauldrons, robes, ink and parchment, and other accesories. Lavender, being the only girl in the trio, was growing up faster, and, the boys noticed, becoming none less of a prankster on them, yet was still becoming more advanced in some ways. She scolded them harsher when they were rude, yet always found it in her heart to give them a slight peck on the cheek when they were sweet. Zack always heard her saying something like ``boys`` when they would try some dangerous curse and get it wrong, then she would do it herself and get it right.

They all knew that Voldamort wasnt dead. They knew he was just biding his time, waiting, holding on, and they knew he would come back some day. And when that day came, they planned to be ready. Practicing spells was a daily routine for them now. Growing still, they were in danger always. For the past five and one half years, since a Death Eater had discovered them and told his followers, Death Eaters had been secretly been attacking them without the Ministry noticing. Nearly fatal were the kids`s attacks, the Death Eaters had to come with backups, for protection, as they knew the children were no longer children, but teenagers, thirteen through and through. With that the Death Eaters were forced to make less attacks, but more brutal with every coming. Unfair as they were, they never gave mercy, so the Death Eaters accidentally gave the teenagers another lesson, trust. And with that the three planned a trip to Diagon Ally to gather some followers.

The day they arrived was dark and rainy, yet the streets still held some people. The three split up to look and ask teenagers, like themselves, to join their ``group`` they called it, as they hadn`t thought of a name yet. What was of the sun set and the three met up in th Three Broomsticks with fourteen people, not counting themselves. They talked.
Lavender started the meeting, ``Well, you should all know why you are here,`` she pauses to watch them nod their heads, ``and you had better be phisically, emotionally, and strategicly prepared. If you have any weaknesses, then we can work on them until they are small, as everyone has a breaking point.Name off.``

Lavender marks a parchment, ``There. Now we`ll name ourselves the......... The League. Any problems? Speak now or keep it to yourself from here on.``
Silence. Nobody breathed or moved, hanging on her every word, untill Christy broke the silence, ``Whos the Leader?``
Zack spoke at once, making Lavender blush, ``Lavenders leader. Any probems? Good. You know where your stationed and where we are. Good day. Meeting Ajurned.``

The other members left, leaving Zack, Lavender, and Jeremy alone agian, yet Jeremy was the one who first said something,``Geeze, are you guys going to kiss or what?`` Lavender and Zack exchanged a quick qlance then burst out laughing, and Jeremy, fallowed suit.They laughed their way home where they ate and went to sleep. That night Lavender awoke two the silence. Shure, it was always quiet, but there was something spooky about it that night. She rose from her bed and walked out of the cave where she heard rustling. The next thing happened so fast she was in a state of shock. Rookwood, a Death Eater, was the first thing the saw when she raised her head from the ground. She rolled out of the way of a spell, and he, having seen her, dissaprated. Lavender, still on the ground, noticed that Zack was standing above her with his wand out. As Rookwood dissaprates he bends down to her,``You ok?``
``Yeah....Wheres Jeremy?``
Zack shook his head, looked behind him and pointed. ``Over there. He pushed you ot of the way as Rookwood lunged....``
``You mean...``
``Yeah.``

The tears start to stream down her face as now, as she thinks about the past moments. She remembers it was her fault. If she hadnt have been so stupid, he wouldnt be dead. She knew if she would`ve waken the others, none of it would have happened. It would stick with her, yet she didnt know of the news to come the next day, about even more tragic events. As she lays her face down on the dirt, tears streaming down her face, she knows that, it was, and always will be her fault, yet as she falls asleep, Zack talks to Rookwood, forcing the information out of him, finding that it wasn`t, as suspected because of Lavenders stupidity, but because of Averys slyness, and as Zack walks back to the spot there Lavender lay asleep and his best-friend lay dead, he knows Lavender would never believe herself not guilty.

Lavender wakes up to fin herself next to Zack, who is sitting up wide awake, wand out and looking intently at her. He starts slowly,`` Lavender it wasnt your-``
``It was! I`m such an idiot!``
``Lavender...you dont understand``
``I do.`` She stands up,``I`m so sorry Zack.....``
Zack stands up too and shakes his head, then rubs his thumb aginst her cheek, wiping away the dried blood, ``you`ll never listen to me, I know how you feel--``

He was cut off as Drew apparates to their side, ``You two! battle! c`mon!`` They apparate instantly to find Death Eaters everywhere and bloodsplatter covering the grass. The pair split to fight. Flashes of light crack over their heads and knives flash in the moonlight, bodies falling to the ground and not getting back up, Death Eaters laughing insanely, the once empty vally was now a cemetary, filling up fast. Lavender, having killed or knocked out twenty Death Eaters her self, went to look at the ones fallen, yet she regretted it. She would have rather been told. Mutilation. Blood, torture, threats, curses, murder, all of them surrounded her. She walked straight past the bodies of the Death Eaters to the things that were once her friends. In battle they became body parts.
Brian, Lui, Tracy, Bourne and Arnold died that day, but none of those pains equalled Jeremys death.

That night, Lavender stayed awake, laying on the dirt where she had lain the day before, not letting a tear or any sound of emotion come from her body. Zack stood awake that night too, leaning aginst the cave wall watching her sadly. Morning came with a heavy rain. Lavender was now sitting on the mud soaking wet with her back aginst Zacks, stairing into the rain blankly. She knew, somehow, that Voldemort had gotten stronger, but she didnt care nor think about it. They say in silence for hours, each longing to hold the other but resisting the temptation.At around 5:00p.m. did Lavender finally move. She stood, dusted herself off, thendissaprated to Hogwarts to meet Albus Dumbledore for the first time.

She walked up the staircase, ignoring the stares as she passed, regretting now that she forgot to wipe the blood off from the battle. She gave no expression to any of them, just walked by and up the stairwell. She came to an abrupt halt when she met the Gargoyle in front of Dumbledores office. ``Move!`` The gargoyle just sneered and looked at her. Lavender folded her arms, waiting for someone to come by and tell her the password. She waited and waited, until she finally heard footsteps. A girl, about the age of herself, came into view. She stopped when she saw Lavender,``hello, my names Isis, who are you exactly?`` Lavender smiles, somehow, out of all the misery she smiles at her, ``Lavender. Do you know the password? I really need to see Dumbledore.``
Isis smiles,``Its flibber gibbit. see you around Lavender!`` Lavender smiles as she walks away, knowing that she`ll come to really like that girl.

She walked up the stairs and entered Dumbledores office. As he wasnt there at the moment, she looked around at the pendants and the pictures of the old Hogwarts headmasters. The asked and asked who she was, but she simply kept quiet and waited for Dumbledore. Dumbledore entered a couple of minutes later, saw her then walked to his desk. Lavender was the first to talk, ``Hello, my name is Lavender Potter. I came here to meet you and to look about Hogwarts for a new, temporary home.`` Dumbledore smiled, ``You are most welcome at Hagwarts, Lavender, though Imust ask, why havent you brought Zackary?`` Lavender sat in silence for a moment at this, wondering how he knew, then replied,``He`s coming. I`ll send an owl tonight.``

(ok, but this isnt the first copy, the first was deleted when my computer crashed. it wasmuch more brutal, I think... but I dont know now that its gone, I just remembered about it last night and started writing. so now I dont even know what the first copy had in it. But I`ll post this in my forum)
Lavender exited Dumbledores office quietly, then walked down the corridors looking at the armor on the walls, the portraits, and the surroundings. She finally reached the portrait of the Fat Lady, when, again, she found she didn`t know the password. Again she stood, waiting for a passer by, but as soon as she was about to leave her standing spot, the portrait creeked open. A boy stepped out of the portrait, then noticing her, froze. He was tall with brilliant green eyes and round glasses over them, and on his forehead, lay a thin, lightning-bolt scar. It was Harry. Instead of introducing herself, she bowed her head and walked passed him into the Griffindor Common Room.
(Harry, I had been using that name before I even met you, so no offence ok?)

Lavender started to pace to room. She had told Zack to be there ten minutes ago. Giving up, she went up to the girls dorms and fell asleep on her bed.
Lavender awoke at the first streaks of down the next morning. She streached, dressed, then headed down to the Common room where she found not only Zack, but Osiris as well. When she entered the room, they stoped talking, looked over at her, and greeted her happily. She felt, for the first time, that she was in the right place at the right time. The trio walked down togeather to the great hall where they sat at the Slytherin table. Grabbing some toast juice, and some muffins, they headed out to the grounds where they walked through the dew covered grass and talked. Osiris departed from them after a while, said he had to read to catch up on the things of Hogwarts, as they were going to possibly stay in this odd place. That left Lavender and Zack alone. They ccontinued to talk, but after the sun was right above them, the sat under a birch tree in the shade.
Looking up was the time she saw a boy approaching them. Her jaw dropped and tears welled in her eyesas she realized who it was, it was Jeremy. She lept to her feet followed by Zack and greeted him questionably. It so happened that iot wasnt Jeremy`s body thatwas at the cave that night, Avery had planted that, but it was a magiced dummy. Jeremy himself was being hld hostage around the corner. Averys plan in fooling everybody had worked, They thought him dead. He had escaped not longer than a year ago and had been on the run since.

The trio talked the hours away, each wide eyed. As dusk started to settle on the hills, the three stood and walked to the Griffindor Common Room, yet as they sat down, silence fell for minutes. Lavender let the realization and shock of Jeremy actually being alive settle upon her and she fought hard aginst the lump in her throat, forcing it down and keeping her self-control. She looked to her left at Zack and she was quite surprised by the blankness in his expression, his eyes on the flames in the fire-pit. She then looked to Jeremy on her right, and saw the same face. Neither of them were even going to explain what they were thinking, she knew, but she wanted to know anyway. She asked, but only to not recieve an answer. Saying goodnight, she quietly walked up to the girls dowms and fell on her back onto her bed without undressing. Staring into the darkness that was every way around her, she sighed deeply. There was just something wrong with those two. She didn`t know what, and that was the problem. What was it.. was the thought she fell asleep to that night as her dreams swept her away.
I love your stories girl, I really wish you'd write more. Finish this one first though, please. lol :-*
