Title: DANGEROUSE LOVE
Post by: Kiara Johnson on February 2, 2004, 09:01:22 PM
Ok, I have hesitated to post this because most of you know Kiara as Harry's sister but what if she wasn't?  This is a story about the love of two fated enemies.  I hope you like it.  I will not post to it unless I get replies so please post.  Luvs-n-stuff...Kiara

                                 Chapter 1 Realization

Harry crawled out from under his hiding place in the bushes.  He had just witnessed Lord Voldem0rt use the Crutatios curse on his daughter. She had come to the school this year; their seventh, as an exchange student.  Evidently, she had feelings for Harry that he didn't even know about.  The conversation between her and her father had been about him and how she shouldn't want to be with him.  Harry smiled as he thought about her words.

"If you kill him, this present you gave me will no longer protect you from my wrath and I will, kill you."  She had said.  He couldn't help but noticed the choker she wore on the day she arrived.  It always seemed to shimmer with an unnatural spark.  Now, he knew why.  It had obviously been cursed to hold Kiara from fighting against whatever her father wanted.  Now, Harry guessed, it was just a question as to what exactly he wanted from her.

He shakily stood on his feet and walked nervously over the fallen sorceress, lying in a heap on the forest floor.  When he reached her, he knelt down, extending a trembling hand to her face, brushing a strand of dark reddish-black hair from her forehead.

Harry looked upon Voldem0rts daughter and held back the thoughts of longing for her.  The thoughts scared him.  She was his Archenemies daughter, the one person he should have the brains to stay away from.  He knew he should just stand up and walk away now, leave her behind and hope to never see her again but he couldn't.  A single unwanted tear burned down his cheek and he wiped it away in anger.

He shook both in fury and sadness at the sight of Kiara lying on the ground.  What her father did to her was inexcusable.  He bent low and kissed her lips softly, unexpectedly longing for her to kiss him back in the same softness as he had just kissed her.  Not knowing why he wanted it so much, never before had he loved someone and the feelings coming to him now were confusing, to say the least.

"Kiara."  He whispered her name.  "Kiara, wake up, he's gone, Kiara."  He continued to say her name over and over, each time he said it, the feelings of longing stirred stronger within him.  Each time he touched her, trying to wake her, his heart ached with a pain like none other he had ever felt.  One last time, he gently shook her shoulder and she opened her eyes, slowly.  His heart leapt to his throat and a gasp escaped his lips.

Kiara opened her eyes, every muscle in her body ached, she tried to focus on the face above her, not knowing who had wakened her. His voice came to her like it was from far off in the distance.  A heavenly voice, a voice she had known but couldn't quite make out.  She lay there, trying to come fully back to consciousness for several moments.

"Kiara, are you ok?"  Harry asked with more emotion in his voice than he really wanted to let on.

"Harry?"  Kiara said, finally being able to focus on the one who woke her.  "Ya, I'm ok, you stayed?  I would have thought you long gone after what happened."  Kiara let a smile spread across her features.

She and Harry had stumbled upon each other after both coming into he forest for separate reasons.  Kiara's was to find out what her father wanted from her and Harry's was just to follow and watch.  She noticed him just a few moments before her father showed up and had made him hide in those bushes just in time.

Harry watched as she smiled.  To see her smile up at him like that sent yet another wave of heat to his heart.  It felt as though if she stopped smiling at him, his heart would break.

"I couldn't leave you here, not like this."  Harry replied, holding back all feeling in his voice.

"Noble to a fault, Harry Potter.  Thank you."  Kiara said as she painfully sat up.

     "You're welcome.  Can you stand?"

"Ya, I think so."  Kiara answered, wincing at the incredible pain in her head.

With a hand up from Harry, Kiara managed to stand on her own.  Although the pain was searing, she wouldn't let on that she might need help.  Harry noticed this and instinctively, reached out and took her arm, supporting her so that she could walk.

     "Thanks again."  Kiara said.

Harry helped her walk to the edge of the forest, holding her close to him as they walked.  The smell of her hair and the softness of her skin made his head spin.  He wanted nothing more than to kiss her sweet lips again.  Not just to simply kiss them but to feel their softness against his.  To taste them and to stay locked with her in an eternal kiss.  He shuddered slightly at the thought, his body tingling with unwanted love.

As if Kiara had read his mind, she stopped just inside the forest line behind Hagrid's cabin.  She took her arm away from Harry and turned to face him.

Kiara looked deep into those wonderful green eyes.  They were so perfect in every sense of the word.  They shone brightly with an intelligence only seen in the brightest of stars.  They also showed something else.  They showed Harry's feelings as if he wore them on the outside of his mind for the world to see.  The one thing he never could accomplish was to lie about how he felt about her.  Kiara smiled, although she wasn't sure it was a good idea to let on how much she had grown to love this fated enemy over the years, she smiled just the same.

As Harry took a deeper look into the darker green eyes of this supposed evil sorceress, he found himself lost.  The sheer beauty of her eyes could not be compared to anything he could think of.  They even put the precious emerald stones, encrusted in her armband to shame.  Then he realized something he had not ever before realized.  Kiara's eyes glowed red beneath the green, as if the perfect colors of her irises where hiding what really lie beneath.  Suddenly, the red fire burning behind the eyes was gone, shut off from his prying orbs, as if a book was being shut in his face.

"Harry?  How long have you felt this way?"  Came Kiara's voice, knocking Harry back to reality.

"What way, Kiara?  I –" He was cut off by the unexpected kiss.

Kiara's lips pressed against his in a kiss unlike he had ever before received.  Her hands wrapped themselves around his shoulders, one, gliding upwards to twine it's fingers through his dark brown mass of hair.  Harry regained his composure and kissed her back, wrapping his arms around her tiny, yet firm waist.  His hands began to explore the arch of her back.  He noticed how she shivered slightly to his touch and he liked it.

"Perhaps," he thought, she feels the same as me."

Then as suddenly as it started, the kiss was over and Kiara backed away from him, her expression unreadable.  Harry let his arms fall loosely to his sides.  He didn't know what to say, he wanted her back in his arms again but the look on her face was almost too scary to react this way to take her back to him and kiss her again.  He backed away from her a step, unwillingly but all the same, the flame growing once again behind those perfect emerald eyes suddenly frightened him.  It was if she was now untouchable, not the same, helpless girl he had rescued from the forest floor only moments ago.  She once again had that same, evil presence about her that warned him of impeding danger.  Still, he felt the longing to be with her, even if it scared him.

"I think we should not see each other like this ever again Harry.  It's too dangerous.  You might get hurt."

Kiara looked longingly into the hurt eyes of the guy she loved.  Then, she simply disappeared with out another word, not letting Harry state his case or even argue with her on the subject.  However, Harry did notice a tear fall down her cheek right before she disappeared.  That, in itself, made his mind up, he had to talk to her, he had to set things right and take her as his.  No matter what the cost might be.  He realized he loved her and nothing, not even the thought of being killed by her outraged father could stand in his way now.

"Hell."  He thought.  "He wants to kill me anyway, might as well give him a good reason."

Chapter 2 Endless Stars

Kiara lay on her back in the field, just outside the schools walls.  She gazed up at the night sky, letting her eyes wander over the sparkling stars above.  She found it amazing how the winter sky was always so much brighter than that of the summers'.  The stars seemed to go on forever and ever.  She wondered what it would be like to soar amongst them, to be one with the night sky.

Next thing she knew, she was being tripped over by some unwanted guest, intruding on her peaceful thoughts.

"Hey watch what you're doing!  Ouch!  Get off me!"  Kiara yelled as someone tripped and fell on her.

She felt hands pressing against her shoulder and harshly pushed them away.

"You clumsy oaf!"  She spat in to the night, and then realized who it was.

"Well, if you hadn't been lying in the dark, I wouldn't have tripped over you." Ron replied, a bit put off at being called an oaf.

"Well, if it isn't Harry's best friend and sidekick.  What are you dong out here this late at night, don't tell me you have a midnight rendezvous with some pimply faced witch."  Kiara said, using a more venomous tone than she had really planned.

Ron turned to leave, not wanting to start anything with her.

"Ron wait!  Look, I'm sorry it's just, well, hey, how's Harry doing?"  Kiara said, not really wanting to be alone any longer and wanting to genuinely know how Harry was, what better source than from Ron Weasley.

Ron stopped and turned around.  He really didn't like the aspect of being seen talking to Voldem0rts daughter.  The fear of her father coming after him was great in his mind but, Harry had told him of the other day and he thought it might help to let her know exactly how Harry was doing.

Kiara patted the ground next to her for him to take a seat, she could feel others feelings and knew Ron had something on his mind he wanted to get out.

Ron, a bit hesitantly, went over and sat on the ground, away from her but when he felt the icy cold creep into the seat of his pants; he reluctantly took the offered seat next to Kiara on her blanket.

"So, what's on your mind, Harry's friend?"

Ron watched her as she spoke; her gaze was set on the stars above, even as she spoke to him.  Somehow, she seemed more different than he always saw her.  She seemed somehow, real, like a normal, every day, girl, wanting conversation.  Not the evil sorceress she always let people see her as.  Ron looked up into the sky, following her gaze and a smile spread across his face as he watched the meteor shower high above.

"There sure are a lot of them.  I would bet Trelawney would say that Harry is fated to die tonight."  Ron laughed.

With out looking at him, still staring into the night sky, Kiara smiled.

"You're probably right.  As to my earlier question, how's Harry?"  Kiara asked again, this time, she looked over at Ron, her eyes searching his for the truth.

Ron found that he couldn't look away from her gaze, those eyes of hers holding him prisoner like a snake does just before it kills its prey.   Although he felt no fear and a great calm came over him, his skin still crawled at the suggestion of power held in such a beautiful girl.

After a moment of panic, Ron finally found his voice.

"He's absolutely miserable."  Ron replied, still unable to force his eyes away from hers.

Kiara continued to look into his eyes, seeing him as he really was, and that was a good friend, a person to talk to, Ron, she now understood, was probably the only human left on this forsaken planet that actually cared for people, in general.  She almost smiled as a thought of Draco came to his mind and those pleasantly friendly eyes turned almost cold.

"How so?  Why is he so miserable Ron?"  She asked, letting him finally look away.

"Kiara, you have no idea, do you.  I mean, you haven't got the slightest clue as to how much he –" Ron let it drop, he wasn't entirely sure how much Harry wanted her to know.  "Oh, forget it.  I can see you don't feel the same anyway."  Ron said, making to stand up and leave.

"You think I don't feel, is that it?  Are you really as blind as that Ron?  Would I have asked you about him if I hadn't truly wanted to know?"  Kiara said as she put a hand on Ron's arm to keep him from leaving.

"No Kiara, you are right.  You wouldn't have asked if you didn't care.  I just don't know why you don't ask him yourself.  He would love nothing more than to have you talk to him.  You seem to have avoided him since that day you kissed him.  Why, if you hadn't intended on seeing it through, did you kiss him Kiara?  With that one single kiss, you have ruined a perfectly happy guy.  You should have left it alone, let it go away, now it's too late.  He's lost with out you, it's all he can do to even get up and get on with life.  He needs you Kiara."  Ron spat at her.  He was angry with her, had been since he drug the truth from Harry.

"Harry has been in love with you from the moment you stepped foot in Hogwarts.  I guess it's a case of love at first sight.  Before you came here, all he knew of you was that you were Draco's adopted sister and that Voldem0rt was your father.  He wanted nothing to do with you.  Why did you come here?  Why did they ever let an evil soul like yours darken the halls of Hogwarts."  Ron continued, his words cutting to the very core of Kiara's heart.

"It wasn't my choice Ron, I am not the one who made me come here.  Lucius put me down as the transfer from Durmstrang.  I had no choice.  Is it really my fault that Harry loves me?  Don't you go placing blame on me until you know the facts Ronald Weasley.  You know nothing of what you are talking about.  If I were to act on the feelings I have for Mr. Potter, there'd be hell to pay, that's for sure.  Do you think I want to see him dead because of me?  Do you think I like to see him suffer over his longing to be with me?  Do you not understand that I too, love him and suffer just as greatly every single day of my life?  No Ron, you have no right to talk of me in this manner.  None at all."  Kiara spat back in a low, menacing growl.

They were so busy arguing that they hadn't noticed Harry had walked up behind them and listened to their every word.

"If you love me, then why do you hide?"  He said softly from behind them.

Ron and Kiara both jumped and turned around.  Ron's mouth was open in shock at being caught telling Kiara Harry's feelings while Kiara put on a mask of total anger for being spied upon, although she really was happy to see him.

"Harry I'm –" Ron started to apologize but Harry cut him off by raising his hand.

Harry gave Ron a look that was filed with thankfulness and anger all the same.  He was mad that Ron had told Kiara everything but happy it was out in the open.

"If you don't mind Ron, I'd like to talk to her alone now."  Harry said, extending a hand to Ron to help him up.

Ron took his hand and stood then, giving Harry another apologetic look, silently left the two of them alone.

     Harry looked down at Kiara.

"Mind if I take his place?"

Kiara studied him for a moment then gave him an indifferent look.

"Sure, whatever."  She replied then hooked her arms around her legs and once again stared into the vastness of the stars above.

Harry sat down next to her, once again, taking in the sweet sent of her hair and the soft look of her skin.  The stars seemed to reflect in her eyes and made them shine with a beauty Harry had once thought impossible to witness.  However, her eyes seemed now, even more beautiful than he had thought before.  He almost cried as he gazed at her.  How he wanted to hold her, to keep her by his side forever.  Nothing else seemed to matter to him.  Nothing, not even breathing was important, as long as he could call her his, he would walk the earth unseen by others, just to have her by his side.

"You never told me you loved me Kiara, why?"  Harry asked, now looking to the stars himself.

"If I would have told you, would it have made anything easier?"  She replied, still gazing up at the sky.

"No, I guess not.  However, I at least would have known I wasn't alone in the feeling.  Kiara, I love you more than life itself.  I want us to be together, despite what the consequences may be.  Who cares if your father would kill me for it?  At least I would die knowing I had the chance to hold you next to me, and hear you say I love you into my ear.  To –"

Kiara had turned her eyes to him now.  She looked at him with a sadness Harry couldn't possibly have known in his life.  It actually made him gasp and he began to cry for her.  The feeling she had now was of a greater pain than any living creature should ever have to feel, worse than the loss of a loved one this was, it seemed to be an ancient sorrow that had been hidden within the depths of her soul for countless year, even though she was only 17.

"I won't love you to loose you and I will not be the reason for your death Harry Potter.  More than you know I wish the same things you do.  You have to understand that even if not for my father, we couldn't be together.  I am a sorceress and do you have any idea what that means Harry?  Do you have the slightest knowledge as to why I stare into the night sky?  How I long to be up there with the stars, to experience the thing that you call death, to soar amongst the clouds as an angel?  Do you?  No, I don't think you get the picture Harry.  I am, as I said, a sorceress, I will live forever, I will not die and I will not grow old.  You, on the other hand, will."  She finished in an almost hushed voice as she gazed into his eyes.

Harry felt the pain she felt within his own heart.  He reached out and brought her to him in an embrace that could last only for so long before he kissed her.  Kiara let him hold her for a moment then pushed him away again, stood up and started to leave.

Harry jumped to his feet grabbing her by the arm, turning her around to see her crying tears he had thought she'd never cry.  He made her look into his eyes once again.  As he gazed into hers, he saw the endless stars she had been gazing into and he was lost.

Kiara looked into those loving eyes he held for her and let herself be whisked away by them for the moment.  Her heart beat faster as he pulled her in closer, wrapped his arms around her waist, and kissed her in a way she had never before dreamed of being kissed.  He kissed her with all the love he held for her, she felt it course through her very soul, she was drowning in its effect.  She kissed him back, letting her love flow into him, the same way.

As they stood there on the lawn in front of the school, kissing and holding one another, their bodies began to glow, at first with a dim, fluctuating light and then, as they let their love flow between them, it grew, stronger and stronger until the were totally consumed by it's brightness.

People began to look outside at the blinding mass of light in the courtyard.  No one save for Ron, knew that in the middle of that blinding light stood Kiara and Harry, locked in the most romantic, most loving kiss ever before known to any human being.

When they parted their lips from each other, the light faded and eventually blinked out.  Kiara turned away from Harry and walked back into the castle to a mass of staring students and one, angry looking Professor Snape

Chapter 3 Snape's Obsession

Snape reached out and grabbed Kiara by the arm and pulled her aside.  His grip like iron, Kiara let him take her.  She knew what was coming; she knew Snape hated the mere sight of her.

"You, what game do you think you are playing at Ms. Maul.  You may blind Potter but I think I know, I think you are trying to lure him away from here so your father can have at him.  Stay away from the students here, I've got my eyes on you and any time you miss step, you can be assured, being in my house, you will head straight back to Durmstrang, faster than you can say Potter..."

Kiara jerked her arm out of his grasp.

"Let go of me, don't you dare grab me like this again, next time you will not be so lucky, traitor of the Dark Lord.  You should have been killed a long time ago, do you even have the slightest reason as to WHY my father never killed you.  I suppose you believe it to be Dumbledore's responsibility that you are alive...It's not.  Good day to you, Mr.."

Kiara turned away from a seething Snape, turned her back on him as if not even concerned for the words he spoke to her.  She strode back into the hall and down to the common room where she ran into Draco Malfoy.

"So, you and Potter eh?  What on earth are you thinking Kiara, your father is going to go ape!  Do you have any idea what you're even doing?  You need to get over it if you know what's good for you, and Potter for that matter.  As much as I hate the very sight of the famous Harry Potter, I still don't wish to see what your father would do to him, or you for that matter, if he found out about the two of you."

Draco stood in her path, not moving or allowing her to go around him.  Kiara crossed her arms and leaned against the wall, conjuring a fire orb and twirling it around her hand, passing it from one hand to the next, not looking or watching what she was doing, instead, she kept a firm gaze on Draco.

"Since when do you care what happens to me Draco Malfoy?  Furthermore, what think I about what you care for?  Your nothing but a weak link in a chain of powerful wizards and witches your family has sired.  You stand in the shadows of greatness and refuse, for some reason, to show your true potential.  You could be great Draco, you could do wonderful things and yet you choose to follow the footsteps of that looser Severus Snape."

Kiara's lips curled in disgust at the mention of Professor Snape's name.  She detested everything about the man, especially the way he treated Harry, even though it was not Harry's fault his father was so cruel to Snape.

"Now, if you don't mind, brother, I am tired and want to go to bed."

Without waiting for him to reply, Kiara pushed through him and walked to the girls dorm without another word, all the while Draco stared after her, stung deeply by her words.  He couldn't understand why she felt this way about him, perhaps he thought, she was just angry, tomorrow he'd have his sister back again.  Although they hadn't been real siblings, she was the only sibling he did have and he was just simply looking out for her.  Draco slung quietly back up to the boy's dorm and went to bed.

The next morning, early, before the rest of the school came alive, Kiara crept down the stairs of her dormitory at the sound of her name being called to her.  She knew who it was and wasn't sure as to why she came down to meet him but, as she always had thought, to meet with your enemies is better than avoiding them.

"What is it you continue to bother me, professor?"  Kiara hissed with distaste.

Snape scowled at her as she stepped down from the last stair.  She hadn't even bothered changing out of her night cloths, he knew now, better than ever that she had no respect for him and probably never would but he had to try to get her to see things HIS way.

"Ms. Maul, you will come with me, I feel a lesson in respect is in order here."

He reached out to grab her again but froze then dropped his hand and, instead, motioned for her to walk out of the common room.

Kiara walked past him and as she did, to the surprise of Snape her clothes changed before his eyes so that now, she was in Muggle clothing the shirt she wore had HIS picture on it with a red circle around his face and a line drawn through it.

Snape directed her further down into the dungeons, when they arrived in the very depths of the castle; Snape took her to a room and closed the door behind them.  The door made an ominous clang as it closed. The sound actually made Kiara jump a little.  She had no intentions of letting him intimidate her but all the same, she was bound by the rules of the school and Snape was one of the teachers so she was quite limited on how she could handle him.

"Keep in mind young Slytherin, you are my student and as such, it falls upon me to teach you the niceties of obedience.  You will not seek out Potter again; you will stay away from him and all others who your father seeks.  I cannot permit you to continue dragging your father's methods on the students in this school.  You will come down here and repeat this mornings training every time I see you so much as smile at Potter."

Snape stood above her, looking down into her now, ice green eyes as he spoke.  He began to back her into a corner of the room, Kiara could feel his hot breath on her face and more so, his hatred for her.  It was hatred stronger than that she had ever felt for any one, including her father.  It sent chills down her spine.  She realized the only thing keeping him from trying to destroy her was his love for this school and his obedience to Professor Dumbledore.

thanks  :)

Kiara said nothing, she simply looked into his coal black, hateful, eyes and waited for his punishment.

"Now, "  Snape turned away from her.  "Now, we start."

Snape turned and spun around, his wand out and hit her with a charm that prevented her from fighting back.  He was quick enough and he was strong enough to accomplish that which he desired, and to add to his performance, he had the actions of a mad, obsessed, man protecting everything he loves.

Kiara had no time to react, and then, with a look of horror on her face, she realized what he had done.  She was still in control of herself, still knew everything that went on but could not fight it, she knew she was in for something bad.

"Scrub the floor in here to start and here, do it with this..."  Snape flicked his wand and a bucket of soapy water appeared before her, and with it, a hand brush.

She'd have to do this on her knees and with out the aid of magic.
.
Snape stood in a corner of the room and watched, a look of evil satisfaction written across his hard features.

Each time Kiara finished cleaning a stone tile, it would turn over to be scrubbed on the under side as well, she sighed , no only did she have to scrub the room, she had to scrub it twice, in other words.  She growled slightly at this and shot Snape a dirty look but got to work, she had no other choice, she had to do as he commanded.

Several hours later, Kiara, dirty, sweaty and open soars on her knees, stood shakily from the floor and dropped the brush into the bucket.  The brush made a plunking sound as it entered the water, sort of an ending sound

Snape had left her alone in the room sometime after she had started.  Kiara had no idea of the time, all she knew was she was hungry, tired and ached from head to foot.  She leaned against the South wall of the room and waited for him to retrieve her.

"Your finished, good."  Snape's voice came to her from behind.  It sounded happy and when Kiara looked up at him, she could see he was enjoying the sight of her, beaten, and broken spirit.

"You can go back now, Dinner will be served in about an hour.  Some one should have done this for your father, perhaps it would have taught him just how unimportant he really was."

"No one could have done this to my father, he would have been ready for it.  He would have seen straight through their deceiving, manipulative minds and destroyed them for even thinking about it."  Kiara spat.

What Snape was doing to her was making her hate him and the school and everything it stood for even more so than ever before.

"Shut your mouth child!"  Snape yelled and raised a hand to strike her, Kiara flinched but his hand never touched her.  Instead he let it fall to his side and growled.

"Get out of here and remember, you will be here again if I catch you with Harry, Oh, and the spell remains on you so that if you ever do decide to fight back at us, there will be at least of person here you can not harm."

Kiara sneered at him but said nothing in return, he had truly bested her this day and she knew it.  With one last nasty look thrown his way, Kiara walked out the door and headed back up to her House.

On her way back to the Slytherin Common room, Harry happened to notice her.

"Kiara!  What.."  He was abashed by the sight of her and rushed over.

Kiara looked over her shoulder and saw Snape leaning against the wall and watching them.  She then did something she didn't want to do.  She turned away from Harry and ran to the Slytherin common room and up to her dorm.  She didn't even look at him, she just simply growled quietly and left.

Harry stood alone in the hall, then looked in the direction Kiara had looked and saw Snape sneering at him in the usual way.  Instead of trying to cause trouble for himself, he decided to turn around and walk away, knowing now that Snape was the reason for Kiara's actions, he'd have to get together with Ron to figure a way to talk to her again.

"But you should have seen her Ron!  Surely Snape can't do this to one of the students, no matter who they are!"  Harry spat loudly as he paced the Gryfindor common room.

"No Harry, actually he can, he can call it a detention for one reason or another and the way you two were kissing last night, well, you know."  Ron replied from his position on the couch.

"Man I wish Hermione was here."  Harry stated.

"I know, she'd come up with a good plan."

"Well, I'm using the cloak tonight, Kiara is ALWAYS out to look at the sky at night, maybe I can find out just what it is that Snape is doing to her."  Harry decided finally.

Severus Snape walked around the halls for several hours before finally heading to his quarters to bed.  He was satisfied that his dealing with the rouge child was sufficient.

"Perhaps she'll be more controllable now that she can't fight at least one of her superiors."  Was the thought that went through his mind as he opened his door and stepped into his room.

He got into bed after changing to his night close.  And had just closed his eyes when the lights in the school went out.  Every candle, every torch all the lights and not a single one was left on.

No one noticed, they were all sleeping.  For some reason, even Professor Dumbledore slept on through it.  The children of the school all slept on in a deep sleep, dreaming of what ever it is that children dream.  All that is, save two.

Kiara walked out of the Slytherin common room, took a tentative look around and smiled.  The spell worked, just one of the tricks she had learned at the stay at Durmstrang.  A little black magic, nothing harmful, really, they'd all wake again come morning.  She tucked the black book she owned under her cloak and headed out side to gaze at her stars unburdened by the thoughts of others.

Harry stood outside, waiting for her to come along.  He had done just what he had said and had been waiting for Kiara nor for at least an hour.  He noticed the lights all go out in the castle, and he started back in to see what was wrong when Kiara bumped into him,

"Who's there."  Kiara demanded rather than asked.

Harry took his cloak off.

"Its just me Kiara, what's going on?"

"you were outside then?"

"Y-yes."

"That explains it.  What are you doing then?"

"I was waiting for you but what--"

"Snape may have not allowed me to use my other powers on him but he forgot that I'm not just a sorceress but have fine tuned my witchcraft as well, and, he couldn't stop that."  she smiled at the castle then at Harry.  "Shall we sit?"

Kiara walked over and laid her blanket out on the ground and sat on it, bringing her knees to an upright position and hugging her arms around them as she started to gaze in to the stars.  Harry followed her silently and sat down next to her, watching her for several moments.

"What exactly did you do Kiara?:  Harry asked, looking a bit nervously over his should at the sleeping castle.

"Don't worry Harry, it's just sleeping, they will all wake in the morning, perhaps in a better mood than ever.  It was just a little dark magic I learned at school."  She replied, not taking her eyes from the stars above.

"why though, why did you do it?"  Harry asked, knowing that if he was in there at that time he too would have been sleeping without a clue as to what she had done.

"I wanted to be alone, no distractions, away from the peering eyes of the rest of the school who jump when I walk by thinking that, just because my father is Voldem0rt, I'm evil too."  Kiara answered him honestly.  "I know how they all stare at me, even when I think I 'm alone out here, they watch me from the towers, hiding behind the castle walls waiting for me to do something.  Snape's wrong about me, I'm not like my father, I don't want to hurt anyone, save for him perhaps..."  Kiara sighed.  "He's obsessed with making me understand how he thinks, he's obsessed with keeping me from having any contact with the students here but mostly, he hates the fact that I want to be with you.  That's why he did what he did, that's why if ever he feels the need to take his anger out on someone, he can do so on me.  I hate him and I hate Dumbledore for allowing him to treat me as if I were nothing more than a monster."  She finished, still looking into the sky.

Harry sat next to her quietly.  He found his eyes traveling over her body, a smile came to his face as he let his eyes rest now on her face.  He recognized the soft look of her skin, how she didn't put on makeup like the other girls her age.  This made her all the more beautiful for she didn't need it.  He reached out and laid a hand on her shoulder then began to run his fingers through her soft, silky hair.  Kiara turned now and looked at him.

"Thank you Harry."

Harry stopped his hand movement but didn't remove it from her locks.

"What for?"

"For seeing me as me, not as him.."

"How could I not?  I don't understand how anyone could see you for anything other than perfect."

Kiara smiled at him then turned her gaze back to the stars once again.

"Thank you Harry but, I'm no where near perfect."

"You are to me."

CHAPTER 4 Missing

That night, Harry and Kiara sat next to one another until the sun began to peek above the trees, neither said another word to one another, Harry watched her as she looked into the sky, happy to just be next to her and not wanting to disturb her dreams of flying amongst the stars as he would one day do.  Kiara never looked at him again that night and when the stars disappeared from the sky, she stood up and walked silently back into the castle, leaving Harry alone on the ground, sitting on her blanket watching her go.  Harry smiled after her as she disappeared through the double door to the main lobby.

"I love you Kiara."  He whispered then, gathering her blanket from the ground and tucking it away in his cloak, he too, went back inside.  When he closed the doors behind him, he felt a tug at his heart.  He didn't understand it at first but a sudden panic filled him.  He ran down towards the Slytherin Common room and up to the port hole, just as he was about to go crazy trying to find the words to open it, it flew open, and Harry rushed in.

Harry froze to the spot as he saw Kiara.  She turned, smiled at him then she simply disappeared.  The look in her eyes told him she wouldn't be back, that she had made up her mind to leave the school.

"I Love you too Harry."  Was the last thing he ever heard from her.  Those words echoed in his mind for several long years after her disappearance

No one ever found out what happened to her or where she had gone.  The Profit made a big to do about it all and for several weeks, it was all anyone would talk about.  However, as with all things, this o went away and people forgot.  Not Harry though, he would never forget.  Even now, as he sat behind the desk at the Ministry, he reached into his cloak and felt the softness of a light green blanket he kept with him always.  He thought that someday, perhaps, he could give it back to her.  Then, he felt something he'd never felt before.  Harry took the blanket out from his cloak and looked at it carefully.  There seemed to be a tiny, almost invisible button in it's corner.  Harry didn't know why but he seemed to feel the need to take it off.

After some time of careful prying, the tiny button popped off.  Just as he was about to bring it up for a closer look, the door to his office swung open and in walked Ron, his look was the happiest Harry had seen in a long time.

"What is it Ron?"  Harry asked from his sitting position at the desk.

"Come with me Harry."  Was all he'd say.

Harry reluctantly put the button in the pocket of his cloak and stood to follow Ron.  Just as he started out the door he turned and went back in, grabbed the blanket and stuffed it back in it's resting place under his cloak.

When Harry and Ron walked out into the main Hall, there was what seemed to be a major problem at hand the only thing that proved to the better was the fact that every one seemed to be happy.

Upon entering the main lobby to the Ministry, Harry stopped dead in his tracks.  There was a large crowd of Aurors standing around with their wands drawn and pointed at some one, but he couldn't see.  Suddenly he heard a strangely familiar voice, a cold and heartless one.  It was The Dark Lord.

Harry looked at Ron then back toward the crowd.  He saw them taking the Dark Lord away then something else caught his eye.

Harry's heart took a leap, his whole body seemed to freeze and his mouth went dry.

There, on the wall, just behind where the Aurors took Voldem0rt away was a note.  No one touched it and Harry could see why.

The parchment was black with green lettering upon it and it seemed to buzz with electricity.  Written upon it was a warning:

No one shall touch this save one.

Then under that it had Harry's name on it.

Harry walked over to the note and took it down from the wall.  He opened the envelope carefully then smiled.
