It was Harry's birthday.He hadn't opened his presents yet but decided to put them off to later.He was still saddened by Sirius' death.Harry took out the mirror he had given to him.Why hadn't he opened it?Harry thought,"I would have been able to contact Sirius and known he was okay!"
Harry was obviously angry at himself, he tried talking to the mirror,it didn't show anything except his own reflection. At 16, he was rather on the skinny side, his hair was still messy and he had broken his glasses again.
A brown owl flew in. it was a weird owl, it had glassed on.
Harry went over and took a letter tied to the claws of the owl. It was a Hogwarts letter, with the sticker on.
"it must be the book list and stuff,"Harry thought dully...not much exciting happened during the summer. But somehow the package felt heavier then usual...

There was another 6 some parchment next to that. One was the usual equipment he needed;another was all the books he needed to get(Muggle studies,Harry had to smile at this, he lived with muggles!)3 more were ads(that's odd,they never include ads in the usual)One was for wands,another pets and the last one was George/Fred's joke shop.
Harry laughed out loud!There was Fred, with a look of sickness on his face and a long dragon tail whipping up;George got the better of it,obviously,all he had was a really big head! Attached to this was a bag of powder, whatever it was, Harry was sure it was dangerous,he immediately threw it out the window.
The last on was blank,odd.Harry flipped it over and over, but nothing appeared. By now, Harry had been allowed to use magic outside of hogwarts grounds, so he tried to make it alive, but that only made it run around the room and make a whole lof of noise. Then he tried to talk to it and make it talk, but that's after he had it pinned to the wall. The piece of parchment just said yes and no and anything else Harry asked was just gibberish to it.

So,after that, Harry couldn't really do any thing to it. He tried to shut it in Hedwig's cage(whom went for her nightly fly),but it just slipped through the bars. Harry tried to shut it in the closet,but it kept on making noises that he was afraid it would wake the Dursleys. When it was let out though, the brown owl with the glassed chewed it up.
'thanks,'Harry said. The owl seem to freeze for a second looking at Harry, then it took off in to the night's sky. Harry stared after it for a while, then realising he never found out what the paper said, oh well. Hedwig flew in, obviously finishing his dinner. Harry opened his cage for him and let Hedwig in. Just as Harry was about to settle down and go to sleep, something left in Hedwig's cage seem to disturb him.
Cool! Hedwig's must be out alot now...I wonder what she does....
before Harry had a chance to look at it though, Hedwig had chewed it up. (what is it about owls chewing up paper today?)Harry turned off the lights and went to sleep.

The next morning was Dudley's birthday, and that was always a drag, he spent doing 'cool
' things with his posseys, but mostly they just hung and beat up on little kids. Still, Harry wished he had a friend whom he can talk to in person over the the summers. But as Harry did not attend a public school anymore, and Little Whinnings had mostly old people, it was a dull,dull summer.

;DThough, a strange thing accured to Harry, except for a witch(partly)next door, he hasn't met anyone 'magic' that lived close to him in walking distance. Maybe they just lived in the city of London, Harry thought. Breakfast was 3 slices of oranges, Dudley was still on his permanately diet, although he isn't getting any skinnier. But thank goodness to Harry's friends, he has something to eat besides fruits and vegtables. Upstairs waiting was a chocolate cake, a bag full of muffins and even Hagrid's mystery cake was better compared to oranges.
Half of the summer was over, Harry still haven't started on his homework, then he remembered, he didn't have any as they had just finished OWL. And thinking about OWL, he remembered a letter was suppose to arrive shortly after the letter so brief. It was noon, Harry had just finished a piece of chocolate cake, so there really wasn't anything to do.
'if it's that boring, why not write to Ron and Hermoine" harry thought. So her took out 2 separate pieces of parchment and wrote:[/color]

Hope you are getting this, the summer has been dull, i just got my owls! 20, is that a good mark? The strange thing would be it was so short, they said a more descriptive one will be coming up, but i still haven't gotten it yet. What about you?what did you get? He opened the cage for Hedwig as he stepped out, tieing each of the parchment to Hedwig. Also labeling each of them the name and 'please take your own' It was 2 o'clock, but at the time, it didn't matter to harry if people saw an owl flew in the air. Harry opend the window and Hedwig flew. Under the floorwood board, Harry took out the mirror
Harry just stared at it, "maybe some miracle will happen and Sirus will appear" So Harry just sat there and stared into it, he stared into his beg green eyes, mind blank "ahh, yes. I remember him well.Cornelius Fudge hasn't noticed it, true?" "Lord, the mirror is still left there, should it be fetched?" "No! It'll seem too strange, Dumbledore will notice for sure" "What about having it destroyed?" "No, this need to be thought through" Harry shook his head, he hadn't seen anything, but there had definately been 2 voices, one of which he reconizes--Voldemort.

"what a strange experience."Harry murmured, he hoped voldeMort isn't getting to his brain again, perhaps he should take occlumancy with Snape, but he shudders at the thought of the experience he had with him last year. Harry shudders again and put the mirror back under the floor board. Harry thought about Sirus, it would have been better if he had his name cleared, before he died, then he would be known to be a great hero(not really, but still) instead of a criminal. Then he thought back to himself, how angry he was at everything, how dumb he had been, and how everything never worked for him. Then he thought to Dumbledore, everything he'd done for him and how 'old' he looked when Harry was in despair. It wouldn't be long before he passed away. Even though he forced himself not to think about it, he thought, just lay there and thought.
It was 5 o'clock by the time Harry had finished his deep thoughts (although it's never finished), he ate a muffin befor going down to see what they're having for dinner. More or less oranges was his guess. But he haven't went down yet when he heard a raprap sound at his window, he turned around and there was Hedwig! The strange thing was, his claws were free of letters, Ron hadn't sent back a letter, and either had Hermoine, and either had ......Sirus?
intruiging! so let me get this straight-sirius came back with Hedwig?
The parchments were not there, so Ron/Hermoine must have taken them out, but what about sirus' letter? Hedwig would never let anyone but Sirus take the letter out, unless it was someone he could trust. Harry asked Hedwig what he did with Sirus' letter. Hedwig understood, but he had no way of expressing it. Harry tried guessing, ron took it, hermoine took it, dumbledore took it, it got lost, he got all no's on those. Then he said 'Grimmulde place'? Hedwig nodded.
"Who's at Grimmulde place?" Harry asked desparately, taking a BIG leap towards Hedwig, it flew backwards and landed on Harry's table. Hedwig spread out his wings, bigger than usual, flying around the room. When Harry still didn't get it, his wing pointed at Harry, then at his back, then flying around the room again. "Ohh! It's Buckbeak!" Harry exclaimed excitedly!
"What's Buckbeak doing there! I thought for sure someone would take him back to Hagrid!" *Hedwig flew back to her cage* But what could Buckbeak do to give the letter sirus? there is no way! "thanks anyway, Hedwig, just hope he won't chew it up." So Harry went downstairs, Aunt Petunia was actually cooking something, but as hopeful as Harry was, it was the smell of brocoli and spinach in the air.
Uncle Vernon was in the living room watching the 5 o'clock news, Harry decided to join in, but aunt Petunia grabbed him back and asked him to get Dudley from outside. So Harry walked outside, headed towards the park, as he knew that's where Dudley and his friends hang out. They smoked, teased other kids, and beat up at anyone that was smaller then them. And the best present from Harry to Dudley could possibly be that Harry get beat up.

So Harry walked to the park, it was the same road he took when he and Dudley were attacked by dementors. Of course, the Minastry of Magic never(or Harry thought they didn't) knew it was one of their own who sent the Dementor after them. But Harry was ready this year, he was allowed to use magic, so he wouldn't be sent to trial if he did have to fight off Dementors.
(Not that Harry wished Dementors would come) So, when Harry finally approached the park, Dudley and his 'posseys' were there, some on the swings, some on the slide and Dudley, as the 'king' got to sit on the top of the monkey bars. As soon as Harry was with in seeing-distance, Dudley began harassing him, telling jokes about Harry to his friends that probably weren't even true!
Harry, of course, began hearing some of them, and he thought he would yell some back, but as he was about to, a chill surrounded him, and Dudley stopped talking and looked at Harry. " It's not themagain, is it?" Dudley shook out froom his trembled lips. Harry knew the them, Dudley obviously felt what he felt last year when Dementors attacked Harry and him. The pride and joy of harrassing Harry went out of him, his friends stared strangely at Dudley, wonder what's he doing talking to Harry. But at the same time they are feeling empty inside their hearts.

Harry looked around to see where the Dementors were coming from, and he saw them. 2 figures walked down the path to the park. And Dudley's 'friends' decided to scream and run at that moment, except their scream sounded more like whimper from dogs and their run was a faster version of crawling.
Harry ran towards his cousin, yelling at him to get down from the monkey bars. But Dudley just froze up there, unable to move.( Harry still wondered how he got up there) The Dementors were coming closer, Harry and Dudley feeling the effect getting stronger.
Harry closed his eyes hard and consentrated the happiest memory so far, when Ron caught the quaffle and Griffendor won th game!! It worked(sorry for not having the spell) A silver shape took up and attacked the Dementors. Meanwhile, Harry climbed up the monkey bars and pushed Dudley off. Then he jumped off and grabbed Dudley. Running out of the park and towards their home.

"oh, i learned that from my third year teacher." They walked silently for a few minutes. Not a friends sort of walk, but a hey, i know you walk. When they reached their house, the door flung open. Vernon Dursley stood their. Red faced. "WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING TO MY SON?" He bellowed. " N-nothing-----" " He hasn't been doing anything to me, dad... it was those things again..."
Vernon looked up and down the street nervously, hoping no one heard his son speaking of strange cretures. He opened the door wider and let Harry and dudley in, staring at Harry(The wand was in Harry's hand) Harry headed for his room, but Vernon wouldn't have any of it, he dragged Harry all the way from the stairs to the living room, sitting him down beside Dudley. " I demand to know what these things are!And why Dudley was in any part of this!"
" These 'things' are the 'things' that attacked me and Dudley last summer. I guess the Dementors have a craving for over-weighted people!" " These D-demen-dors are back again?"(notice that Vernon didn't mention anything of the 'over weight' part.) " What are you, a criminal?" " Look, i'm just going about my buisness-----" Aunt Petunia walked in, "what is this talk i hear about dementors?Didn't you deal with them last year, Harry?" harry thought, " when did Aunt Petunia become so gentle and calm over magic?"
" I have no idea, and they don't just go away." They are sent here, i know it!!! Last year,Umbridge sent the Dementors here, who knows who sent them this year." For the second time that day, Harry lay in his bed and thought. Aunt Petunia seemed so calm when she got the wind of it.She reacted as if it happend everyday. And dudley, he defended Harry, well, sort of. And finally, the Dementors, did Umbridge send them again? No way, she was fired, did Fudge send them, for the hate of Harry, Dumbledore? No, he was the Minaster of the wizarding world, he wouldn't do it. Or, the worst possiblity, Voldemort has sent them. Dumbledore has often warned the Ministry about the dark side joining sides with the giants, goblins and the Dementors. Would it really happen this year?

There was knocks on his window, Harry got up and opened the window, 3 different owls flew in, one was Ron's tiny owl, another was Hermoine's, and the last one was the owl with the glasses. Harry took off the letters and let the owls have a drink before going off into the night's sky. He read ron's letter first.

I got my OWLS too, i got 17, not bad i guess, but before i say anything else, let me get this straight, you sent a letter to SIRUS!!! I know you're sad and all, but a letter? The Hogwarts teachers have decided to delay the information of everyone's OWLs, they would like to go over it with all the students, this system was newly introduced to the Ministry by Dumbledore and all the staff at Hogwarts. Harry thought they(Fudge) sounded a bit bitter at the end, but he didn't care too much of it. The owls flown out, except the owl with the glasses seemed to want to stay, it's deep eyes gazed upon Harry, but than it flew off into the night's sky. Harry thought the owl seemed familiar, but no matter. He took out all the presents he got from his friends, and one by one he looked over them. From Hagrid he got a bag of muffins, and a tiny package. Inside was a small stone, gold one way, blue the other red up, orange down, and somewhere in there, there was purple, green and even silver. "Wicked, i wonder what it's for!" Harry exclaimed. 'This is a seeker, not in quiditch, a very rare item...it will lead you to any dragon/creture. i haven't had time to get you a string to put it on. Enjoy your birthday......Hagrid.' That was a note attached to the stone...wow!
Next he opened Ron's, it was soft...uh-oh, a sweater!!! But when Harry opened it, he was surprised to find a cloak, what's Ron doing giving me a cloak? Harry wondered. Again, the note explained it all: Hey,Harry. This cloak is suppose to protect you from all natural elements, fire, water, wind, it's pretty warm too...Charlie got it from Egypt, thought you'll need it...bye! It was a sort of silver color, almost looking like the invisiblity cloak.

again, Harry stared into it, just like he had in the afternoon. "lord, i really don't think it should be gotten that way..." "Silence! That is up to me, and me alone!" " Y-yes lord..." " Maybe i shall suggest something?" " Ahh...y-yes" " Get the boy, T. He WILL get it!" " But his power........" " BUT HE WILL!" Harry snapped out of it. The voice, the voice that was so strong, it was weakened by the new vioce...stronger than "T". But what Harry really wondered about was why the seeker stone had changed to black during his time "inside" the mirror. And why he was seeing into this mirror left by Sirus.
Harry's eyelid began to close, they felt so tired. So Harry drifted off to sleep.
Sirus! Don't go! Don't leave me! Don't go! Thump, Thump, Thump! The door to Harry's bedroom banged. " W-hat?" Harry awoke, the knock ringing in his ears. " Get up!" It was ever so strange, he was in the cupboard under the stairs. Just as he was about to get up, the scene changed.... to when he met Ron on the train, then it changed again, when Harry received his invisibility cloak. And a sudden swosh, he was at the dungeon. Proffesor Quill standing by, making Harry looking into the mirror. the mirror, boy, the mirrorit was that voice again. Harry closed his eyes and shook his head as hard as he can. It was all black. Then he really woke up. [/color]
That voice, it said 'the mirror, boy, the mirror. It was the same voice that was the 'boss' of "T". Was it possible that "I" was the boy they were talking about? Harry thought. Was the mirror the one that showed his father and mother, the mirror that showed what he wanted? It was morning, it was 7:45 on his alarm clock. Perhaps the Dursley's were up. Oh, the Dursleys, the Dementors....now it came back to Harry. Dementors, the mirror, going to Ron's house! Oh, Ron. He will have to reply to Ron and Hermoine. Harry got dressed and headed downstairs. And surprisingly enough, no one was down at the kitchen, no one cooking an orange, or spinach. Just then did Harry notice the note stuck on the refrigerator:
Harry, we've gone to get some things for Dudley, there's a few apples in the fridge, help yourself. We'll be back around 3:00 in the afternoon.

Strange, the Dursleys never left a note for Harry no matter where they went...when had they become so non-Dursley like. But Harry knew there was more to food in this house than apples. When Dudley's out, Uncle Vernon always cooked himself some beef/pork/chicken. And they were safely stored away. But Harry knew exactly where they are. ( Or he will) Harry drew his wand and summoned the beef/pork/chicken(or whatever it was that Uncle Vernon was having last night) by using a summoning spell. They came out from the cupboard under the sink, Harry unwraped them, warmed them, and hovered them in 4 seconds.
Whatever it was, beef/chicken/pork, it was delicious. Harry hadn't had such good food in a long time. It even beats the cake that he got for his birthday. Since the Dursleys weren't here, Harry decided to watch some TV. But there wasn't anything good; so he listened to some things in the radio;he took out some ice cream(another summoning spell required),candy,and even apples. By then it was 11:00. Harry went upstairs to reply Ron and Hermoine. But he discovered some mail at the door first: an electricity bill, water bill, payings for some dicount at a store, a flyer and an envelope addressed to Harry.

what's this, Harry thought...Sirus writing back? But he couldn't be...he's *gulp* dead... perhaps he will return Harry's question with an answer? But should Harry tell Ron and Hermoine? No, they'll think Voldemort is behind this, and tell everyone in the whole world...but again, they've kept many secrets for him before..! Harry decided to write to them and see.He got upstairs, took out 3 pieces of parchement, but then decided to take out only 2, Harry thought Ron's and Hermoine's could be together..he was going to write the same thing.

Harry felt ridiculous sending the letter to Sirius, but at the same time feeling hopeful, maybe Sirius would still be alive. Of course, it'll take more than feelings to convince Ron and Hermoine. For the next week, nothing happened, Harry opened and closed the window, hoping for an owl, Hedwig was out nightly on her hunt, and still no answers. From Hermoine, Ron nor Sirius. The Dursleys were strange, ever since the Dementors attack, they've became 'nice' to Harry. Dudley seemed to stop going out in the evenings, instead, he took out the weight equipments(which Uncle Vernon bought but abandoned) and lift weights. The food Aunt Petunia cooked seemed more happy, more varieties. But on the last day of that week, it came.

Harry sighed. He expected more, more from sirius, he meant. But an invitation to Ron's house isn't bad, but how would he get there, just then, he heard a loud thump downstairs. Harry went down the stairs to see what it was, he amazingly found Ron and Mr. Weasley. "What are you doing here?" Harry asked, full of excitment and also surprised. " we're here to pick you up!" Ron said," change of plans, Dad found out we told you to come to us when you didn't know where we were, so we came here instead." But before Harry can say anything, the Dursleys rushed down from upstairs, when they saw the weasleys, they said nothing. Just stared half-angry, half-shy at the weasleys. "Harry, better pack up, don't want to stay too long." Mr. weasley whispered.
