The new Harry potter movie is good yet very inconclusive and confusing. I say good because the special effects very cool and exciting, like the scene where Harry rides on a hippogriff (though I imagined the hippogriff far more bigger than this, never mind that), the dementors closing in on Harry and black, the shot where lupin turns into a werewolf and there are quite many scenes like this which are awesome. Something, entirely missing in the first two movies. Alfonzo has done a good job if you look at the movie from the special effects point of view. But there is something huge missing in the movie, that's the feeling one, gets after seeing it. Though I have read the book, even then I couldn't make out the plot clearly. It's quite hazy; there are quite a number of places where things don't make any sense. For example the scene where Hermione and Harry go back in time, they alter many things, like saving buck beak and helping Sirius in escaping. But guys its silly don't you think, I mean if lupin(the werewolf)had not heard the howl coming from the woods he would have surely attacked Harry and perhaps killed him. And then Sirius is caught, Ron is taken to the hospital and its then when Dumbledore comes in and tells Hermione that she could save more than one life. its then that this idea comes into Hermione's head and she tells Harry about the time 'thing' she has through which she can go back in time .if the idea is so novel to her that means before being told by Dumbledore to go back in time and sort things out, she never have gone back in time and howled to save Harry, thrown stones to save Ron, herself and Harry from being seen in hagrid's hut. I know its mind bogglingly confusing plot, very hard to understand in a logical way. There a tremendous confusion of scenes, some vital episodes from the book I think has been omitted which if included could have given more sense to the 'time traveling' plot. I greatly missed the old Albus Dumbledore, he was more like the one I had in mind. In the first two movies the aura of the castle was more school-like, in the new movie there are very little scenes where the students are seen in their uniforms. It appears more like they are on a picnic or something rather than in a school.
thanks
I agree, I walked out feeling like there was alot missing. I think it's because in the first two movies there was ALOT of classroom things and ALOT of quiddich and there's next to none in this movie. This time it's more centered around what happened outside of school time, which is still okay just different than the last two.
I really wish they had kept in the floating Harry head in Hogsmede though. That was one of my favorite parts of the book =>
I didn't know they took that out! Darn it
There should have been a spoiler warning for those who may not have seen the movie yet.
If you've read the book, you'd see that JKR has put little asteriks (*) to seperate unconnected paragraphs of text. I bet it's difficult to film according to the book, one reason for the asteriks and many others.
yes, the movie was a little bit mixed, but as for the not knowing whats going on half the time, neither did Harry during that time. Things were happening all around him, and he can`t really understand it all
good point Lav. and 0612. I know a few ppl who have not read the books that found the movie to be one of their favorite ones they've seen in a very long time.
You all have to realize that no matter how hard a Director or screen writer try, they can never please the reading fandome of any book. They are never the same bacause they can't be. One can put so much more in wods than one can on film.
