I used to play the drums, but I switched to clarinet which sucks, but I would not want to play the drums at school....I used to play the guitar also, but that didn't work.... :-X......so I am stuck with the Clairinet, unless I want to play the Tuba.....

i hate it when people say that  :P

Its not easy unless you have the co-ordination...you'd be surprised the amount of people who i have shut up when they say "oh thats easy" and im like "well go on you do it then".

alot of people wouldnt know the first things about how to play and say thet would.

hey lpking, do u have any idea how ashamed metallica would be of you for liking linkin park? I personally severly detest (not gonna say the h word, I suppose) linkin park and don't care much for metallica, but i appreciate them. Miss Self Destruct, sure it takes coordination at first, but you can learn that in like two weeks, the rest is just speed and experience, and a lot of creativity. There are literally drummers who do basic beats at amazing speeds and they get a ton of respect. Travis Barker on the other hand, has massive ammounts of all three and look how much he's worshipped. I hate to say it but I spent fifty bucks buying five pairs of his signature sticks and his stick bag, but it was well worth it anyways...

Does anyone here appreciate Emo?

Not True.

Not anyone can drum, you have to have style & as you say rythmn & co-ordination.

Travis Barker is nothing special, Blink 182 arent anything special either, you just wasted 50 pounds.

Take Danny Carey for better example, easily one of the greatest drummers of all time, but it takes a hell of a lot longer than 2 weeks to obtain that standard of drumming.

Emo? Pfft dont make my laugh. Emo kids are shallow Attention sleepers who cant be individual in the slightest so they find themselves stereotyping themselves as sad washed-up My Chemical Romance fans, who are easily one of the worst bands i have heard in a long time.

I know this topic is old, but I don't care. BRING BACK THE OLDIES!
-----

I must agree that drums are not easy to play. I play the drums at my highschool and one of my snares can't even do triplets. And he's been there for awhile now.

Travis Barker really isn't as awesome as everyone thinks. I've heard so many awesome drummers from different bands. He has a lot of talent, but certainly is not the greatest.

Emo music. Woah. I really can't say that I like Emo music. I hate the whole "My life sucks...I shave my legs...I dyed my hair black" Screamo music. The instrumentals can be good sometimes, but I prefer true rock.

I was drummer for like a year.. last year.. but I'm back on the flute.. thanks goodness... Drums take a lot more talent then most say they do... I mean they are one of the most important parts in marching band and also concert band and other things to..

I personally LOVE Emo music.. and Screamo, and Punk, and Rock, and also country..
