This takes place in their fifth year, that would be Harry's and Kiara, Max, the old crew, ya know what I is talking about, As for the newbies, play along if you will, but follow the leads. Thanks ~K~
"No father, I most certainly will not let Max go. It is of no use, go away before someone sees you here, like Dumbledore for instance.." Kiara's words trailed off, she had been talking to what seemed to be a ghostly image of Voldemort, her emerald eyes glowing with the redness that locked her as his own, in her anger at his showing up even in this form, on the Hogwarts grounds.
There was no reply to her words, but the image vanished, but not before Kiara hit he cold hard ground of the frozen winter lawn; unconscious, the black velvet choker at her neck vibrated slightly, the emblem that hung from its front red hot.
Ginny had been in the forest, when she felt something go wrong. She had hung around Kiara enough to know it wasn't good. She softly went from the forest to the lake, serching for a standing form. When she saw none, she scanned with her mind, finding someon was laying on the ground.
"Kiara!" Ginny ran towards Kiara's unconsiouse body.
(Yay! I miss these old things!)
Max was behind ginny."Careful...Her fathers been to her,"He said, and he went to kiara's other side.He checked her pulse..."She's only unconsious..."He looked at kiara's lifeless form.He picked her up.
"I realize that. But how? I don't think he was on the grounds."
pig swooped down from a tree and changed back " what happend " she asked she had seen evrything from a branch from above
(Yes me too Gin, missed them muchly)
Kiara stirred as Max picked her up, she opened her eyes half way and then let them close again, knowing she was safe, she allowed herself to fall back into the darkness that felt so right.
Lavy walked outside to the side of the lake where everyone was standing. "What happed?" She asked when she saw Max holding Kiara.
"Her father got to her." Ginny answeard, turning towards the others.
"Max, we should get her in the school."
"I know,"He headed inside,toward the hospital wing.
Kiara remained in the state somewhere between sleep and awake for nearly 10 hours, the entire time, she seemed so perfectly peaceful, as if simply sleeping, though every now and again, opening her eyes, but not seeing anything, and then closing them again, she did not respond to anyone, nor did she react to any sort of potion given to her, to wake her, nothing, they would just have to wait, for she was not truly sleeping.
"Max?" Her quiet voice sounded in the darkened area of the hospital, as she came back to reality.
Ginny sat up in the chair she had been sitting in and looked at Kiara's bed. She said nothing, after all, Kiara would know she was there.
Max walked in as soon as he sensed kiara had woken up.He smiled down at her, walking up to her bed."Hey,you've been resting quite while,"
"too long if you ask me. We worried about you." Ginny said from her chair.
pig came back from the tolet and noticed Kiara was awake she smild glad her friend was all right and walked over ton her bed
Kiara looked around shortly and smiled in turn to her friends until her eyes settled on Max and she sat up, never taking her eyes from him, the look she had was as if nothing was wrong, nothing had been wrong, and nothing would be wrong and so, it usually meant that something was about to go wrong, and more than likely, soon.
"What am I doing here?" She asked, raising a brow.
"You pasted out." Lavy said from a window.
"And,By the looks of things,"He said, gesturing toward kiara's necklace,"Your father's been to you,"
"But what I can't understand, is how. He wasn't really anywhere on the grounds. Do you know how?" She couldn't imagine how Kiara's father had managed to be on the grounds and off at the same time. She watched Kiara closely, for it wasn't always safe to be near Kiara.
"It's very simple really. He's done it to me a few times too."
"No, I've noticed him then, but he's not much of a danger to you, Lavy." Ginny said, her arms automaticlly folding. She sighed and waited for Kiara to answer.
"Not true at all, Ginny."
Ginny turned from Kiara, her face angry.
"Lavy? Do me a favor and shut up!"
"I'd reather not do anyone any favors tonight. Yet here I am. Oh well that's life for you." Lavy said turing back to the window.
pig looked at Kaira then at ginny " he didnt need to be, when i was on the tree in my owl forn i saw kaira talking to some on but i couldnt see them but i felt there presence it was like he was there but he wasnt dose that make any sense" she said
"Perfact sence."
Kiara listened to all of them, though she really didn't hear much of what they were saying, her focus was on Max, it never left him, not once, the moment she laid her eyes on him. Ginny had made some really good points however, and was right to keep her eyes on her friend, she definitely was not quite herself at this moment, and things tended to have a way of going from bad to worse, when she started acting strangely.
Kiara's hand rose to the pendant hanging from the velvet choker, her fingers moving along it's smooth under side, and the small, jagged carving of the snake on the upper, her emerald eyes never leaving Max, as if never letting him from her sight.
"Oh, don't be silly, my father had no way of acting against me, I simply had a fainting spell was all." She replied to them all in general.
Ginny turned and let out a laugh.
"Oh please. That's not what happened. And you know it Kiara! Tell us what really went on." Though her words were demanding, her voice was not.
max didn't need an expanation. The fact that ginny did suprised him.He could tell kiara was watching him rather closely, but not in her usual manner. It was as though he was prey."Lets not question her, she's exausted....She should stay here until she's feeling...better..."Max threw a glance at ginny to stay away from kiara, and not to question what happened.
From one of the opened windows, Lavender suddenly appeared, her entire entity cloaked in a heavy black cloak, of which hood she lowered fluidly, her raven tresses streaming out behind her and about her shoulders, silky and thick, brinking out the coal glints in the many greens of her eyes. Eyes, of which in a glance acknowledged all in the room, though focused on Kiara at all of the time. A smile did not come alight upon her features {they rarely did anymore, anyway}, for though she was certainly happy to see Kiara upright and alright, she was upset, in the shortest of words, that one of her friends had been wronged.
Lavender approached the bed, and stopped at the endrail, resting a firm hip against it, watching Kiara all the while, wordless. Words were not needed. Kiara and Lavender had had their share of disagreements, and full out fights, but Kiara was close a sister to her, and nothing would change that. Unnecessary speaking at the moment, would only take more time out of the questionable 'what-happened' of the day..
{{Ooo... I've missed these too! Yays! Bak to the old stuffs! ^.- }}
Ginny sighed, giving Max an angrey look.
"You know, if she dosn't tell us, there is no way she's her normal self. "Ginny said, explaining her reason for wanting to know.
Kiara eyes left Max, just long enough to follow Lavender's advance into the room and then to the end of her bed. Indeed, no words deemed necessary there, her emerald eyes shot a short grin towards her 'sister' before returning to Max again.
Max was completely right, her reason for keeping her eyes on him had entirely nothing to do with the fact that she longed to simply gaze upon his wonderful features, on the contrary, there was definitely a reason far beyond that, and however, if he sought to keep her in this hospital room, he should as well know, that too, would be near impossible.
"Oh, very well Ginny, if you must pry..." She started, talking as though Ginny were below her, something definitely NOT Kiara form. "I was standing near the lake, waiting for Max and I had, or rather felt, a stinging pain in my head, and then I woke up here." She admitted, this being total truth, as Kiara had no idea what it was she had been doing before hand, and, likewise, no idea she was even acting odd, she thought, there was nothing wrong.
Ginny sighed. Getting anything from Kiara when she was like this would be hard work. Carefully, she peered at the girl she had none for some time. Kiara had never spoken down to her, not that she could remember anyway. She turned to Lavender and Max. They both knew Kiara better and should realize something was going on.
max nodded. He gave ginny another look, then spoke."Yes, I can see that your not at all feeling yourself, kiara,"He well knew that keeping her hear would be difficult."why don't you stick here, just for another day or so?"It was feeble, but he was ready for what would happen if she realized that he knew.
Kiara continued to Watch him, his every move, the way that he spoke, everything, her eyes reading him like an open book, her mind closed to him, but wrapped about his like a thick coat of butter on a fresh slice of bread. Indeed, he knew she was there, and he had his choice, he could, as he was perhaps the only one besides Ginny who could, throw her out but in doing so, he'd risk detection, and so far, it was all speculations she was gaining from him and nothing more.
"No, really, I'm fine." Kiara said and then sat the remainder of the way up in her bed and slid her legs over the side. "And I am NOT about to sit around in this place, you know how I loath the hospital ward." She returned to Max, her emerald eyes flashing with an undertone only he would catch, of that all too familiar redness, though masked still with an overlay of emerald..
It was indeed that quick temper that was already beginning to rise, and once again, not at all like Kiara to be doing so, at Max, of all people, and for such a tiny request in favor of her own health.
Ginny took a step back as kiara began to rise.
"Really, Kiara, you should listen to him."
Max was now watching kiara as closely as she was watching him....He threw the most subtle hint he could throw at ginny."kiara, where did you get that necklace, its quite stunning,"he said carefully.
Lavy turned around.
Ginny instantly looked at Kiara's necklace, trying to figure exactly what Max was trying to say.
"Oh this, it was a present, a gift from.." She trailed off and then laughed. "You know, I can't really remember who gave it to me, odd Awe well, it was a gift at any rate." She said, for a moment, when she tried to think of where it was the choker had come from, her eyes softened, but then just as suddenly sharpened again and now, a slight, thin grin began to push up the corners of her lips, forming what would be considered the semblance of something sweet, though it simply didn't go with her eyes as she now stood...
"So, what time is it, I am absolutely ravenous." She stated then, seemingly all happy and normal once more.
"No where near dinner time." Ginny said, still eyeing the neacklace.
"yes...Its not quite dinner time,but...We can,go to the kitchens...if you wish."
It suddenly clicked and Ginny nodded, looking away from the chocker.
"That sounds like a good idea."
Max nodded again, glad ginny had gotten it."so,you want to head to the kitchens, kiara?"
Kiara's grin turned to a smile. "Yes, I think that would be nice." She said almost dreamily. "Anyone else coming then?" She asked, turning her gaze about the throng of visitors she seemed to have collected in her time of 'slumber'. Though, her attentions never left Max, it was quite obvious.
"I'll come." Ginny said.
" me to " pig said she was stiil looking at the necklece and started to think she conceled them from Kiara and the others ~ that neckleace, her speaking to voldermort maby she was using the necklace to contacted him, she is acting odd evrryone can tell expacly max lavanda and ginny. i just hope nothing bad happens wait it all ways dose~
Max heard pigs thoughts, and sent a quick, sealed thought...but it was brief in case kiara heard it. ~pig, keep your mind clear of that, ginny or I will explain later...Just don't get on kiaras bad side...~ max smiled."Off we go,then..."He made his way to the doorway.
~ok~ pig sent back " yes come im starting to get hungry " she said
The choker everyone was so focused on, would not come off easily, and to foolishly take something off of another without knowing the consequences might prove to be disastrous, to say the least, though, it was painfully clear that everyone knew that already.
"Very well then, lets go." Kiara said in that same, cheery voice as she stepped next to Max. "After you." She said, her emerald eyes looking up at him in a manner that suggested she would not take no for an answer so pleasantly.
Ginny sent a quick nod at Pig and kept her distance from Kiara. If anything happened, Ginny's first response would be to get Pig and Lavy away, to safety.
Lavender followed directly behind Kiara and Max, her features blank, her thoughts blank, to their own and not intruding upon Kiara or bothering her more than was necessary for her to know she was concerned, and there. Out of her pocket, her hand withdrew a sugar quill, of which she sucked on absently, her eyes ahead, detached.
Kiara was acting strange. Sometimes, that was mere normal occurrence, but this time... Lavender focused upon her sister {she referred to Kiara as such, for connections were close enough anyway} with an off-to-the-side audience gaze, worried. She was, indeed, through her emotionless mask, worried. Actions of Kiara's were a bit out of character, and that was not good - it bothered her.
Sucking on her sugary quill, Lavender, thoughts blank now, simply followed, blank and silent.
As always.
She followed behind Lavender, letting her deep thoughts alone, but correcting her surface thoughts to be of nothing more then food. She walked steadily, though she felt like sitting and waiting for it all to be over.
max was careful about the way he thought his plans...How was he going to get that choker off?He knew there would be an all out war if he did it now...And the school and himself couldn't take much more of that...he looked ahead, and decided to focus on keeping her happy, making her think he didn't suspect anything....then,he thought of someone who might be helpful.Evan,as much as it annoyed max,was the only person who would be able to hide himself more efficiently, and he might be able to take the necklace.he took a sideways glance at kiara, smiling.he sent a sealed thought to evan.He would probably be there soon,so he continued making his way toward the kitchens."I don't know what they've prepared, but I think it should be filling,it usually is.
Ginny looked at Max, getting slight flashes of his thoughts. They were dim, and very confusing to her, but she said nothing.
Kiara continued to follow Max, walking just behind him and to his right, her eyes looked about the halls, as if she was seeing the corridors for the first time, and as they passed the stair well that led up to the West Tower, she seemed to pause in step, only barely noticeable, then continued on, her feet making no sound what so ever, in the throng of walkers about her, it would have gone unnoticed.
As they made their way to the portrait of the Fruit, Kiara stopped a couple steps back and waited for someone to open the door, her emerald eyes had darkened considerably during their walk and she had become increasingly quiet, now simply humming to herself, a tune, none had heard before, every now and again, a few lines would escape her lips, but it was broken, as is singing only half a song.
He feeds off fear
he feeds off pain
he rules again....
More humming
she will die
Humming again
A light in the darkness
a long place of nothing but humming, slow, melancholy sound, though with both a sad and angry feel to it.
As faith for the future faded fast
humming
It sets him free
humming
Deceiver of hearts
Deceiver of fools
Humming
Poisons the truth
To gain their faith
To lead the way
humming
He rules your heart
humming
There was a long point in this where she began humming though at times, looking as though it pained her to do so.
Shall he rule again?
The song ended and she outwardly grimaced, the pendant at her throat doing a sort of jerk and she then looked about again, her eyes simmering red for but a moment, then returning once again to their dulling, emerald state.
"So, are we going in, or what?" She asked, looking to Max once again, that same note of regalness in her tone she had previously used against Ginny.
"Yes, lets." Ginny tickled the fruit, making the picture swing open. She paused and stepped back, allowing the others to go before her.
Evan appeared, though invisibly. Only a few people could see him. evan hoped kiara wasn't one of them. Max glanced over at evan, nodding his head. "yes...lets go.."he headed inside the portrait hole.
Ginny looked at Max, with question in her face. She couldn't really see Evan, but she knew he was there.
pig step in fom behined them that strange song that kiara was singing sent a chill down her spine she egnored the felling and follwed the others
Kiara did not see him, though it was obvious that she was battling against something now as she stepped through the doors to the kitchen.
Upon her arrival inside the kitchen, a few of the older elves in there, stopped and openly stared at her, their expression none to happy; Kiara's eyes had turned red at this point, a sign that she was slipping further, and fast.
"What are you looking at, you just mind yourself and bring my friends some food." She snapped, brining the house elves to their senses enough to scurry away and allow the others to enter behind them all and bring them trays of food.
Evan chose then.He carefelly unlatched the necklace.
Ginny held her breath as she felt somebody move to Kiara's chocker. She didn't look back, and was trying to hard not to think about it. Her body slowly went still, she could feel her blood moving. She expected Kiara to react violently, in which case, she would grab Lavy and Pig and get them far enough away that they would not be hurt.
pig breath cought in her throat as she watch Kiara
The moment that clasp was unlatched, Kiara gasped as the pendant attached to the chain seemed to grow white hot and melt into her, disappearing from view, leaving a symbol of the dark mark right where the neck meets the collarbone and she twisted around, her eyes alight with literal flames a low growl issuing from her lips as she struck out at where Evan would have been standing, her entire being trembling with rage.
Did you think that by detaching that silly choker, you could free her.. A hideous rasping voice echoed in the kitchen.
All the house elves scurried away from them all, taking refuge in any nook or cranny they could find with little screeches of fright.
Kiara then started to laugh, and whirled around, catching Max by the front of his robes and tossing him to the right as if he were not but a stuffed doll and all but ignored the rest of the throng surrounding her, as she still could not see Evan.
Ginny's faked thoughts dissappeared, as soon as Kiara's voice changed. Goosebumps ran up her arms, but she didn't interfear with Kiara's throwing of Max. She reached over, pulling Lavy and Pig further away from Kiara's being. She doubted Kiara would try to harm them, she had no reason, but to be safe was something she had learned to do.
Ginny made Lavy and Pig sit down. "Stay here, I don't think she'll try to hurt you, but just in case." Ginny said, her eyes alight, "I'd like to give you a foce feild, but it wouldn't do anything." She stood, stepping in front of the two and watched Kiara. She folded her arms, just watching.
