"Not everything turns out the way you like it, relay that to Father," Xaver finished in a mumble.
There was a sharp crack, and the towering figure of his great winged brother was gone. Not to leave Xaver alone, but probably to cook up some new plan of ruining Xavers present quote 'recipe for life'.
That was it. In one of the barren back alleys of Hogsmeade, Xavers entire future, one that he had never really wanted, was gone, taken from him. His one brother, his younger, more materialistic brother, was to now take the throne from his fathers grip. Xaver would merely be, the 'exiled Lord.' Not that this would have bothered him at an earlier time, but the tables had been turned. Not only had his malignant Father turned his entire rule against and out for Xaver, but, his little brother as well. Which stung. Xaver and his little brother had always been close.
Now, there was no where else to turn, except back into Hogsmeade, and the human world. Xaver couldn't explain it to himself, let alone to any other, so he kept it to himself, moving into the Hogs Head, ordering a small flagon of alcoholic beverage, and setting into a dark corner to mull over the events, of his ever souring mood and future.
Dre sat behind the counter. Since she had no money and no home she had to work at the Hog's Head. Giving another shot of Vodka to a man who looked like he had had too much, she saw Xaver. Walking over to him,she noticed that he seemed to be in a bad mood.
"Problems?"She asked when she got to his table.
Xaver watched Bre approach, his sea blue eyes meeting hers, withdrawn.
"Yes, a few..." he muttered lightly, simply.
He noted her apron, and worker-like appearence, and a pencil brow rose curiously.
"Do you work here, Bre?"
(errrr...her name is Dre not Bre....lol)
"Eh,yeah. I need money for this summer to buy an apartment so I don't have to live on the street."She shrugged,"Oh well, your problems are probably worst than mine."
(Heh, sorry. I knew somethin was wrong, but I couldn't place it. Sory, lmao. :P )
Xaver inclined his head in Dre's direction.
"Then you are the most coordinated of the two of us. You never know, your problems are somewhat related, anyway."
He watched her for a moment, before rising from his seat.
"No need to work alone. Here, I will help you finish up with the ever growing pile of dishes in the back of the kitchen."
He chuckled slightly, for he also had a habit of letting things pile up. Waving his hand, a white apron sort of thin appeared over his black clothing. He grinned inanely, his complex mind shutting off almost completely earlier events, as he took Dre's hand and led her to the back to begin the dishes. Something to do.
"Well, okay. Never seen anybody who actually wanted to do the dishes but I guess there is a first time for everything."Dre smiled. As she washed the dishes, she hummed lightly.
Xaver listened in silence as he scrubbed and polished the plates at a quick rate, the dirty growin clean, the clean put away soundlessly as his thought pattern ranged and set them where they belonged. He listened to her humming, and found it quite relaxing. Soon, he was acting almost normal. Though he had never been normal.
-You have a miraculous voice- he input to her thoughts gently. -Hopefully this is not the first time someone has said that to you.-
He beamed, and raised the hose of the sink, and sprayed her.
Dre raised her apron to cover her face. She dipped her hand into the water and splashed him.
~Thank you but I'm afraid this will be the end of you,Xaver!~She laughed and used telekenesis to raise more water out of the sink. She pelted him with a water ball. A smile graced her features for this was the first time in a while that she had been genuinly happy and not thinking about her lost memory.
(g2g,I'll be on...later...maybe.bye!)
"Seems that love is in the air or something." Lavy said walking in.
Xaver's grin faded to a mock, over eccentric exasperated expression. Then, as the water pellets ceased fire, he growled, wiping a hand over his eyes.
-Big bully you.-
The tub of water mysteriously fell over her form.
Xaver turned as Lavy entered, grinning, for he actually knew who it was, though the expression faded.
"Love..." he mumbled to himself. A deeper frown set into his brow, as an eyebrow rose in interest. "What's that?"
Truth be told, he had no recollection, or knowledge of the word in the slightest.
"It's a feeling, it's bacily when you deeply care for someone and would die for them if you had to. It least that's what all the books say. You have to really feel it to know." Lavy shrugged. "It's hard to explain, but when your in love you know it."
Dre let out a low growl and snapped her fingers. Fire surronded her body and soon she was dry."Love my eye. Next thing you know she'll be saying we're married."Rolling her eyes, she washed the last plate and stored it in a cupboard. She resumed her humming and started pouring drinks.
"I wouldn't say that unless your really married."
"Whatever."Dre continued to work and hum.
"Are you going to get married?"
Lavy's remark caused Dre to snort. "Oh yes! Our wedding is next month but we're not going to invite you cause you revealed the dark secret of the plaid kangeroo."She now had no control of her giggles.
(let's wait for Xaver.)
Lavy started laughting. "Umm....ok I'll be there. You just wouln't know."
(ok)
"d**n. The plaid kangaroo. Time for plan 'B' then, yes, wifey Dre?"
Xaver chuckled, and the dirty dished suddenly were cleaned, and put away with perfection. He turned, sink hose in hand, held like a fire arm.
"Dangerous territory, Milady. Perhaps we should simply play Assassinate and Run?"
Xaver nudged Dre with his elbow, then turned, grabbed another hose, and sprayed them both.
Dre used her telekenesis yet again, but this time to create a barrier that the water could not get through. She stuck her tongue out but than her face flushed when John, the boss came in.
"DRE!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!! AND WHO ARE THEY?!!!"He yelled.
"I...uh..."
Xaver whipped around, a hand behind his back, forming a sort of nonverbal chant. The hoses vanished from his hands and were set to where they belonged, and all the water in the room instantly vanished, everything scrubbed and cleaner than earlier; and dry. His apron vanished, with an afterthought.
"She was doing the dishes, sir. That is, until I decided to create some mischief. Lavy here, had merely followed. Dre was mocking me, for I could not seem to attack her very well with your water hoses."
Xaver became cool and collected, his expression sincere, and pressing upon the mortal man. It was easy for him to maneuver and penetrate the shields of another. A beastrous talent, or so called. Heh.
Xaver shrugged his black trench coat over his shoulders, the collar settling casually about his neck,
John blinked and said,"Alright, but this better not happen again."
Dre bowed slightly but mentally kicked herself,"Yes sir."
John turned around and walked out of the room.Dre sighed and looked at Xaver."Thank you,I love you,I truly do."Leaning against the counter and shook her head slightly.
(g2g,I'll be on later)
Xaver snorted.
"Probably not wise to ever love someone such as I. But you are welcome. Finish up here, and I'll take you out to get something to drink, my treat."
He smiled, reached over, and messed her hair in a teasing way.
(ok, see ya later)
Dre smiled and flatened her hair."Oh,you're not that bad. Wait a minute."She walked out of the room and came back in a few minutes later. "I think I'll take you up on your offer."
Lavy shook her head. "I told you. Love is in the air."
Dre pushed Lavy down with (you guessed it) telekenesis."Oh please,he'll probably date some Egyptian Princess. It would defientaly suit him."
Lavy lauhted once more. "I've known him less then a month and I already know that the chances of him dating an Egyption Princess are...slim to none, no correction none, zero."
"If he could get my boss to give up than he could get and Egyptian Princess to date him. I mean,John has an..."She snorted,"Iron will. And I hear the princesses are kinda...errrr...nevermind..."
"No no tell us."
Xaver laughed openly, a rare sound, from him. Brief, quiet laughs were regular, but for him to actually allow himself true amusement, that was not often.
"Too late to date an Egyptian princess, Ladies. I once courted one, though she was of my fathers picking. Now that I am free from his reign, I have chosen to resist doing so ever again. For some odd reason all the princesses seem to despise me."
He chuckled, and shook his head. ..Being a Prince of his Fallen realm had never been too appealing in other's eyes..
"Please, save me." He grinned. "Will you lead then, to some place more cheery?"
"Well I can tell you that corting any princess is no easy task, we have this code to make it as hard as possable. So your a brave man for trying."
Dre said to Lavy,"I will have to speak to you about that later. Sounds interesting."She turned to Xaver."How about the Three BroomSticks? I hear they make an excellent Manhattan."
Lavy giggled. "Oh, that brings back fond memories. Well should I chaproin(spellling?)"
"What do you think,Xaver? Do we need a chaperon?"She attempted to hide her smiled at Lavy being chaperon and her being the first to get drunk.
"I see more then one person knows about my little moment a few weeks ago." Lavy said still smiling.
Xaver shook his head.
"From experience, Milady, and being an older brother, I can tell you your codes are malignant and just mean to the men of the court."
He grinned inanely.
"The Three Broomsticks sounds interesting. I have yet to go there."
He shrugged, then shrugged yet again at Dre's question.
"Whatever you find to your liking, my lady."
"Well than,we set sail to the Three BroomSticks."She smiled and grabbed his hand, leading him to the street."Errr...right. This way...I think..."A thoughful look crossed her face.
"It's so fun. Like when they wonder why we don't like them, we just laught. Your not a princess, so you wouldn't understand the amusment we get from it. But it's pretty great. That way dear." Lavy said pointing down the street to the right.
"Thanks. You comin' with us? If you are than I want to hear more about you being a princess,if not than I want to hear it later."
Lavy shrugged. "Ok."
"My little sister was a princess.." Xaver said slowly, quietly. He never talked about his family, much less his late sister. "She used to relay everything to me. Bittersweet, I must say."
Xaver shrugged his shoulders, and let the two lead, allowing himself to be manipulated through the crowds by the tugging of the smaller hand of Dre's within his.
"But wouldn't that mean you are a prince? Is that why I thought you were different?"Dre's face turned thoughtful again.
"Being a princess sucks. What's the point there is no point. It's just something you call the daughter of the queen."
"I think it would be fun. You get to boss people around."
"It's better if your the Queen and there is no King." Lavy step aside as a every large person walked past her.
"Yes," Xaver explained quietly. "To my, and to my siblings' dismay, I am..."
Xaver watched them both in silence, for a long moment.
"Not always, Milady," input gently. "Power and bossing the peoples around only gets you so far. Things.." He sighed, then shook his head. "It is of no matter."
"Hmmmm..."Dre stopped infront of the Three BroomSticks."Ah,we have found out destination."She walked in.
"Not true at all I'm afreid." Lavy said stoping Xaver from following Dre.
"For your people, maybe," he returned simply.
"True, Dre," Xaver said. "This is the place.."
He grinned, clasped her hand firmly, and pulled her into the building after him, through the mob of pedestrians lingering outstide.
To a table he nearly carried her, knowing Lavy to be close, a thought to a distant waiter sent. Close behind them the waiter came, three glasses with him.
Dre took one of the glasses and took a sip. She sat and took another sip,not wanting to get drunk and make a fool of herself.
"Ha ha, I heard that Dre." Lavy said smiling again.
Xaver took his mug and drank deeply, in no fear of becoming drunkard. Mortal drink never had true effect upon him.
"So you two are the two drunks I have heard about?" he questioned, amused, curious.
Dre blushed and glared at Xaver,"I am not a drunk. I just like to drink."
"Oh. Okay then."
Xaver grinned over his drink, and nudged her ankle with his foot teasingly.
"No I was the drunk you heard about. And let me tell you it was no small task getting that drink."
Dre laughed,"Yeah, some girl told me about a time you got drunk and Ginny had to help you."She nudged her foot against Xaver's and smirked.
"That's an understatement. And if your going to play foote under the table at least do it right."
(I have to go eat so I'll be back in about 30 minutes or so)
"I'll show you footee."Dre kicked Lavy...hard...very hard.
(m'kay)
Lavy kicked her back. "Must I show you guys?"
Dre rolled her eyes and took a long drink of her Manhatten.
"I should start a class." Lavy said smiling at the thought. "It would be weird though, me rubbing my foot and leg up agenst half the people in the school. Really Werid."
"I'm sure you would like it."Dre said sliding her finger around the edge of the cup.
Xaver chuckled, shook his head, finished off his mug, and set it down upon the hardwood table with a dull thud. He ran a hand through his obsidian colored hair and grinned, setting back into the booth with a sigh.
The drink settled him a bit, as did his company.. but he could not restrain his own thoughts, from running over that which he had blocked out for more than a month. He missed his little sister. Lavy reminded him a bit of her.
Nudging Dre back, he set his elbows to the table, and folded his arms.
"I know a few people who wouldn't."
"Hm."Dre's head started ringing very loudly. She got up and said,"I'm...gonna...go to the...restroom..."Holding her head, she walked to the bathroom as the ringing got louder.
Xaver frowned and watched after Dre. He glanced at Lavy, then returned his gaze after her.
'I guess you want me to find out what's going on, ah?" Lavy asked turing back to Xaver.
Dre stumbled into the bathroom and into a stall. She sat on a toilet as the ringing got so loud that she wanted to bang her head against the wall.
"That would be well appreciated.."
A small girl of about seven came in and walked over to Xaver and Lavy. She stood staring at them, not saying a word. Her long, strait hair was over her face and her blood red dress went down to her feet which were bare.
Xaver nearly fell from his seat, unnerved for a moment, surprised, and grieved. For a flash of a moment, he envisioned his little sister. The girl there uprooted him in her relative qualities. But as he met her stare, he knew it was not so. His little sister, was gone.
Xaver came down from his chair, and knelt down to one knee before the little girl, his elbows on his knee, much as he had done a month ago when his sister had wanted to speak seriously to him, and wanted to be at equal height, so she could pretend to actually get through to his thick head and yell at him what she would. She would like to rave and rant and vent her troubles to him, as if she were as old and weary as he.
"Greetings," Xaver said quietly.
"Hello. I'm looking for my sister. Someone said she came in here." The girl looked sad,"I think she is going to die. They want her to help them but she won't. You have to make her help or they will kill her!"The girl started fading in and out of focus, like she wasn't even there.
(scary...I've been reading scary books lately and this seemed like a cool idea :P)
At this Lavy jumped up, grabed Xaver's hand and started pulling him to the bathroom.
Dre had her face covered by her hands. She shook her head violently and was crying.
Lavy could her hear crying and without even thinking she pulled Xaver into the bathroom and to the stale. "Dre?"she asked pushing the door open and looking at her.
Dre jumped up and pulled out her whip. When she saw it was Lavy and Xaver, she wiped her eyes and smiled."I'm fine. My head just hurts."
Lavy droped Xaver's hand. "So dose mine..all the time, but I'm not crying in a bathroom cause it hurts so much. What's wrong Dre?" Lavy asked her voice showing deep concern.
"Nothing. I'm fine."She pushed past the two.
Lavy glanced at Xaver. "Dre who was that little girl?"
Dre blinked,"Little girl?"
"Yes. She was about seven. She kinda looked like Arianna." Lavy added to herself.
(let's wait)
Xaver was still, his colorless eyes calculating.
"Who are 'they', young Mademoiselle--"
Xaver let himself be dragged away, and into the women's bathroom. However, as she pulled him to a stall, color rose to his face, and he backed away to a sink. At the sink, he stayed.
"Erm.."
He frowned.
"The girl? I've no idea. OYu pulled me away before I could acheive an answer, Milady."
"I dunno any little girls. Wait..."A memory flashed in Dre's head. She had a look of horror on her face. "Oh my god."
(g2g,night!)
(bye, see you later)
Xaver scanned over Dre's expression, and his frown deepened.
"What is it, Dre?"
"You remembered something didn't you."
"I...I..."Dre shook her head and said,"Nevermind. I've got to go. This isn't ya'll's problem."She walked to the door.
Lavy put a cham on the door so that if wouldn't open. "Yes it is our problem."
Dre started fading. Suddenly, she dissappered. Right before she totally dissappered, they saw a glimpse of the little girl who said,"We're sorry." And then she was there no more.
( :P freaky)
Lavy looked at Xaver.
Dre appeared in a shrine that was surronded by waterfalls. She sat on her feet and looked around. This was where she woke up when she lost her memory. Sighing, she closed her eyes and meditated.
(let's wait for Xaver but if you want to post than go ahead.)
(ok)
"What the hell just happened?"
