Psy sat on the steps of Hogwarts. Rain fell from the stars onto his head. He stared at the sky as if it had a big secret to tell.
From the forest a tall, lean figure materialized. The dark night settled about the womanly form carefully, shadow gently clinging to her moving form. Lavender approached the front doors of Hogwarts, her pale form clad in only a pair of cut off jean shorts, and a black tank top. From the rain, her damp raven hair was plastered about her shoulders, her clothes waxed to her toned figure.
Her head bowed, Lavender seemed to be watching her bare feet. But nay, her moody green eyes were watching nothing in particular at all. That being a main reason, she did not see the smooth, glassy puddle of mud, as she approached it. Her right foot struck the puddle directly, and then swept foreword, her arms swinging in vain to regain her balance. She fell, in a tangle of arms and legs, flat upon her back into the sopping, muddy earth.
Lavender growled, and sat up, but then froze, for her eyes fell then upon a male figure, sitting upon the steps she had been heading toward..
Psy saw the woman fall and got up. He ran toward her and bent down to look at her."Are you okay?" His face showed sincere concern as looked into the fallen woman's eyes that were so cold that he shivered and whispered,"What happened to you?" His voice was not his own but seemed to come from nowhere in paticular.
Lavender raked a pale hand through her raven -now dirtier raven- tresses, and mumbled a slight curse to herself. Rolling her shoulders a bit, she fought to regain a bit of composure. She tried for a smile, though such was far from a true, or sincere smile. Her many shaded, moody green eyes reflected thanks, but for her to truly smile, that, was such a thing that only a rare few could pull from her nowadays.
"I think I am alright... perhaps a few harsh bruises, but I do not think I have severely hurt myself this time," her melodious tones returned quietly.
With her forefinger, she scratched at a just-healing gash across her cheekbone, unconscious of streaking mud upon her features.
"I do hope, that my clumsiness and detachment has not put me into the more silly part of your mind."
Lavender offered yet another false smile, though it was more substantial this time, and tried to rise, though when she set weight upon her left wrist, it collapsed beneath her. Laying upon her side in the belly of a great puddle of mud, Lavender sighed. This, was not only embarrassing, but beginning to annoy her exhausted being.
At the thought, she yawned, deeply, her eyes not meeting the males.
"If you want I can carry you. I usually trip over stuff and break some bones so don't feel embarresed. I once tripped over a cord and nearly put myself in a coma."Psy smiled gently at her. His jet black hair was matted to his face and his red eyes seemed brighter against the black sky.
Lavender managed an acute smile his way then, her left arm clasped to her chest. With a deep intake of breath, a deep, sea green ominous light became about her, as if of invisible hands, of which helped her to sit, then, vanished into the chilly evenings air.
"Though I appreciate the offer, I could not accept. It is a complicated thing.."
Lavender rolled her shoulders, then extended her left arm, a faintly noticeable white light spreading from her shoulder, to her wrist, lingering upon the spot of greatest pain, and healing it with greatest precision. She let her wrist drop to her side, wiggling her small toes in the mud absently.
Though soaked in rainwater, and drenched in mud, her radiant interest glittered strikingly. She watched the male for a quiet moment.
~~What was a collected male such as yourself doing outdoors at this time of eve?~~ she questioned into his thoughts.
~I prefer night. Let's me think without the distrations of others~Psy replied. He offered a hand to help her up.
~~A fine answer,~~ she returned to his thoughts, her tone quiet. ~~The distraction of others is a common thing about those of whom, understand certain things, those others, do not. It is nice to find another of those, whose thoughts do not limit them from returning thought to me.~~
Lavender inclined her head in appreciation, and did accept his hand, accepting, and for once letting another help her lift her light, toned, thin form from the ground. Lavender was not often to ever take up the help of another, but she was so very, very tired... With the help of his hand, she pulled herself up, her bare feet slipping and sliding a bit upon the mud, and it was yet another moment, before she regained her composure, and dropped his sturdy hand of support.
She glanced toward the forest behind them, then returned her gaze to meet his eyes, for a brief second, the weight behind her gaze flashing into evidence. But just as quickly, such a thing, was gone.
"Here,we should take you to the sick. Someone of your beauty should not catch anything."Psy smiled politely.
The door at the top of the staris opend and a figuer in a long black jacket came walked out. It started down the stairs its head down so no one could see the face under the hood, when it saw the two people standing at the bottem of the staris. The figur made it's way to them. "Good evening you two." Lavy voice said from under the hood.
Psy groaned as Lavy's thoughts filled his head. He quickly shut them off and turned to her."Ummmmm...hello?"
"No, dear, I am fine. I do not like hospitals. And I have a duty to take care of in the forest. Especially, for I have not found Ginny as of late. And, you are too kind and too polite. Soon, I am sure, your views will differ. There are only a few whom do not turn away from me, in distaste, dislike, or anger. I do not blame them, usually, for I have habit to bring trouble to those I am around."
Lavender sighed and wiggled her toes in the mud, amused a bit, by doing so.
"I must go care for a matter.. If you wish to come, I have not a problem with company tonight. Though it is freezing in the forest. You might get too cold.."
Lavender offered another smile, unnoticing, of she herself, in mere shorts and a tank.
"Hello, Lavy," she returned habitually,
"I'm gonna come. You never now,there could be puddles out there for you to trip in."He smiled again,"And I doubt I will turn from you. You aren't weird enough."
"Hello, Lavender. How's life been?"
"Interesting and horrid and treacherous as usual," she returned to Lavy.
Lavenders false smile formed, but then erupted into something far greater and more dazzling, her laugh. Her melodious tones rang out in quieted amusement.
"Ay, yes, those dam*ed puddles. Well good then. I am sure your company will be most greatly appreciated."
~~I hope not... though my 'weirdness' runs far deeper then you know..~~ Lavender almost, almost, giggled. But to go that far, she could not manage.
Lavy sighed. "It's it always?" she said looking up at the dark and rainy sky.
Psy laughed and said,"Then I will watch you closely for any signs of weirdness."
"Usually, yes, Lavy, it is," Lavender voiced, shaking her head. "You know that."
Lavender's moody green eyes looked the male over from toe to topmost hair, and she smiled, interested in his being.
"Come, then, to the forest we march. Lavy, when we return, perhaps we can meet you later?"
Lavender inclined her head in Lavys direction, offered a smile, then turned, and started into the forest.
Psy shrugged and followed. He held his hand in the air and fire engulfed it. It served as a light to their path. His wand stayed safe in his pocket though he knew that he would never use it. The death of his grandfather caused him to not ever want to use it again.
Lavender tipped her head in his direction, her head inclining just slightly, before facing before them yet again.
"Thank you," said she quietly.
Lavender made through the undergrowth easily, her bare feet padding soundlessly as she lead the way. Though they were traveling quickly, there was still a great way to go.
Psy followed her with difficulty. He had stayed inside a lab for most of his life and when he had ran away,he lived on the street. He was not use to going through trees. Weaving his body around,he made sure that he didn't start a forest fire with his hand.
Lavender noted his trouble, and come a clearing, she completely stopped. She turned and placed a hand on his chest to stop him in his tracks, then, with her cold hands, took his with the fire, and closed upon him, the fire diminishing with her touch. Then, she released him.
Lavender smiled at the male.
"I am sorry for that, my usual pace through rough terrain is not normal for nearly all those that try to keep up. And about burning this forest down..."
With her left hand, she took his same hand, turning it palm up. Then, with her right, she placed her palm upon his, just briefly, removing her hands completely after a moment. There, dancing in his hand, was a sea blue, cold flame. The flame lit greater volume than normal fire, but was cold, and could burn nothing. Its purpose was only light.
"This power is not all to easy to attain, but if you search your thoughts, I have flagged a map as to using it. Hopefully, this small gift is repayment enough. I am very appreciative to your kindness."
"Thank you and you should not be appreciative. My kindness has bitten me in the a** before. I'm just being myself."He smiled at her and looked at the flame in his hand.
"You are most welcome. If that is so, then it is ever more so, refreshing, to meet you."
Lavender returned his smile, and started off again into the forest, though this time, she held his free hand within hers, leading him. To the farthest right end of the forest they traveled, and in one of the greater, rockier clearings, she slowed, released his hand, and moved quieter. She made to a black lump beneath an angling outward crook of the sheer rock cliff, kneeling, and removing from the gap a sleeping panther cub. Lavender stood, set the cub into the crook of her arm, and mastered her raven hair to be a thick blanket about its body.
She moved back over to the male with again, soundless feet.
"There. I knew, something was amiss here."
Lavender shifted for a moment, then became still beneath the pale light of the flame in his hand.
"By the way, what 'tis your name?"
"Oh,I'm sorry. Between helping you outta puddles and going through woods I must have forgotten to tell you. I'm Psy Kentra."
Lavender smiled, and inclined her head in greeting.
"I am Lavender, Lavender Potter. Most pleased to have met you, Psy."
She smiled once more, then made back toward him, for he was standing at the direction of the castle.
" 'Tis late," said she, "surely I have wasted enough of your time already. If you wish to leave now, I assure you no offence will be taken, for I still need to return her to her denmother."
"Nah, I can't sleep anyway so I might as well acompany you."He paused and looked embarresed,"That is if you want me to. I didn't mean to sound too..."His voice trailed off as if trying to find a word that wasn't there.
Lavender waved off the word with a simple shrug of her thin, but strong shoulder.
"Ay, no worries. Your company is welcomed, Psy."
She winked a dazzling, moody green eye, and laughed ever so softly, as not to awaken the cub.
Psy smiled and nodded,"That's good to hear."He said almost to himself. Looking at the cub he petted it softly enough that it wouldn't wake.
Lavender returned the smile, and nudged him gently with her elbow.
"Come, this way, then," she said, starting a bit off to the side, toward the heart of the forest.
Her pace was slow and eased; trained. Progress through the undergrowth was anything but quickly moving, but more of a relaxed pace.
Psy followed,enjoying the walk. It had stopped raining so the forest seemed more alive. He kept his hand in the air with the blue flame and his other hand in his pocket.
Lavender moved gracefully about the underbrush, her small feet loping to the small patches of the softest grasses, though it mattered not to her anyway, weather the earth was soft or coarse. She was a stunningly complex creature, whom even over many a years, did not in many ways understand herself. Should she wish it to play a bit through forests of which she had grown in, she would do it.
"So, what 'tis your story, Psy?"
"Uh,I was born in New Mexico,that's in the U.S., and my parents found out when I was five that I had an over developed mind. They sent me to the Kentra labs and I spent the next few years being tested on and stuff. I ran away a year ago and just recently got a letter to come to Hogwarts."Psy shrugged,"Not much to tell."
"Not much, humm?"
Lavender uttered a quiet laugh, but it was a subdued one.
"I do not know if those labs were humane or so, but I am sure, I would never survive in such a place. A lab, is som,ewhere, I've never been."
"What about you?"
"I-...erm..."
Lavender was silent for a long, crisp moment as they approached a desolate river of swift rapids. Setting the pup securely into the crook of her toned arm, her eyes shifted to him, and she sighed.
"Me? What is there, to tell?" She moved to the edge of the river. "My parents were murdered at my near third year, my little adopted brother was taken to his aunt and uncle and I grew up on my own, in a forest relative to this one. I was in my early teens when I was asked to the school by the late Dumbledore.. Though many do not ever understand, I still feel and hurt and breath as most of them do," she said simply.
Lavender sighed and leaped across the waters to a stone, gracefully bounding from one stone to another, to the other side, where she waited for Psy.
Psy floated over the water with telekinesis,"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have asked."He landed on the ground.
"It is of no moment, Psy. You would have found out, anyway. I have heard a great many versions of the story," Lavender said quietly, shrugging. "Soon, I suppose you will know the 'whole story', but.. Oh, it is of no matter."
She offered a smile, and drove from the subject fast as her tongue would take her.
Just to their left was a slightly inset clay cave. There, Lavender sank to her knees, awakening the cub with a slight shake of the paws.
The cub mewed, and slid from her grip to the earth, backside plopping smartly. The cub rubbed affectionately against her ankles, then skittered into the cave, to its mother.
Lavender stood, and brushed off a layer of mud set at her calves and thighs, sighing.
"I do not know about you, but I, am dirty, and need a swim."
She grinned slightly, moved to him and took his hand, and with a slight jerk, both disappeared, reappearing in the center of the lake. Above the water. Their feet set upon the topmost layer of the watery surface, but unless one would wish to fall in, they would simply be walking upon nothingness, held by Lavender's power.
Lavender, unfeeling of the cold, snapped her fingers, and dropped into the freezing lake waters, taking off underwater in now, a black two piece swimsuit.
Psy took of his coat and shirt and fell into the water. He laid on top of the water and just floated,"It would be fun to be able to do what you want and not think about how it effects other people."He said as he looked to the stars. A thoughtful look crossed his face.
"Of course it would be entertaining and relieving. Perhaps revitalizing.. Dreamy.. Bliss, maybe.."
Lavender's voice sung as if right against his ear, though she floated quite a bit away from he, in a more cold place of the chilly pool. Her tones rang out in whisper, harmonious, melodious, and dreamy of thought. It was apparent, her thoughts were not in one specified area..
"Hmmmm..."Psy had gone into a sorted half-consious state and just floated. Lavender's voice didn't help either,for that just soothed him even more.
Lavender murmured some soft, uncomprehensible reply, into the smooth, still night. Occasionally her small feet paddled a bit into the cold waters, but other than her gentle movements, all about her was still. Moments rolled by, and Lavender found it harder and harder still, to keep her eyes open..
"Awww, don't you guys look peacful." Said Ginny's voice. She leaned against a large rock, smiling. Behind her was Conan, his brother Tom, and his younger sister Sara. Ginny wore a travaling cloak, as did Conan. The other two, the children wore sweatshirts over their t-shirts.
Conan, grumpily leanded against a tree while the younger two stood where they were, a bit uncomfertable in this time period. Ginny smirked at them then looked back at Psy and Lav.
"Hey Lav. Hey Psy." She said, still smiling.
Psy looked at Ginny,"Hey,who's that with you?"He didn't have his glasses on so he couldn't see the others very well.
Lavender mumbled something that was relative to 'hewwo', rolled over to her belly, and silently slipped beneath the surface. After a long moment, she resurfaced, at the waters edge, walking up the slope of the bank to the grassy earth. Pulling her glossy, thick raven hair over her bare shoulder, she tied it into a simple braid, and threw it back once more. Rolling her shoulders and brushing a strand of grass from her pale thigh, she snapped her fingers, her black swimsuit instantly replaced by a pair of black and white checkered short pajama shorts, and a spaghetti black, mid-belly length tank top.
She smiled warmly at Ginny, and went to her friend, enveloping her into a tight hug, before setting her palms to her knees, and examining closely, the children.
"My, do they get more adorable," said she.
Lavender grinned, and smiled at the three others.
Sara beamed and Tom made a face at her. Conan growled at his brother and smirked at lavender.
Ginny hugged Lavender back then grinned.
"Psy, this is Conan and his brother Tom, his sister Sara." She said, pointing to each in turn.
Psy lazily swam to the shore. He got out of the water and used pyrokinesis to dry himself."Hello Gin,nice to meet you Sara and Tom. I think we've met before,haven't we Conan?"
(I'm gonna say that Psy has meet Conan already since he did in the other thread.)

Sara smiled at Psy and Tom waved a bit.
"Yes, we have met." Conan said, nodding at Psy.
"So, what are you two doing?" Ginny asked.
"Well,we helped a cub back to it's mother and came for a swim...or something."
"Really? What kind of animal?" Ginny asked, smiling again.
"Panther. Good thing she saved it or it might've been hurt."Psy shrugged and winced. He moved his shoulder again and...winced(duh.)
"Yeah, we don't want that." Ginny said.
"So what's with your shoulder?"
"Dunno,probably nothing."He rubbed his shoulder,"So what are you guys up to?"
"I need to do some paperwork, Conan needs to watch his brother and sister and still practice. So we combined, we're letting these two run around." Ginny said, grinniing again.
"Cool,need any help with anything? I'm bored."
"Actually, you can keep track of those two." Ginny said, pointing to the children.
"Cool,can do."He stuck his hands in his hands.
"Ginny, I'm telling you what I told Mom, we don't need a babysitter." Tom insisted.
"Shut up Tom!" Sara said, glaring at him, then looking back at Psy, "What kind of magic can you do?" She asked.
Ginny laughed.
"Tom, Sara, be nice to Psy and Lavender, ok? Conan and I will be in the headquarters, just find a wolf and they'll take you there."
Lavender smiled warmly at the children, and inclined her head.
"Be sure by my word, nothing shall happen to them, my friends. Not by any hand other than my own."
Lavender grinned in a wicked, teasing threat, ruffling Tom and Sarah's hair.
"My, my, it sure has been a while since I've seen you two last... I wonder if you are too old for those old homemade treats I used to make..."
Lavender sighed, thought upon her old recipe. Such treats had not been thought upon in a great time, for certainty. Lavender understood children, but was never of much of one herself. She treated them as younglings, but as beings that could understand and work for themselves a bit, as well. She had learned harshly the independence of a child.
Ginny and Conan smiled bfore dissappearing together.
Tom looked up at Lavender. He hd a sort of respect for her, since Ginny talked highly of her.
"Oh no, we're not too old!" Sara said, with a fake shock upon her face.
Lavender tapped her nose in thought, then smiled, a handful of rose petals appearing in the palm of her pale hand, extended slightly toward the children. Gently, she tossed the highly perfumed silks into the brisk air, her glittering, moody green eyes watching, as they reshaped into miniature roses, of the sweetest, belly warming candy of their memories. Lavender winked as a handful or so was set into each of their hands, and she messed their hair yet again.
Their faces lit up.
"Thanks!" They cried in usion.
"Indeed, dears," she purred gently, "but if Aunty Lav hears of any trouble..."
Lavender wagged her finger back and forth threatening, though behind it, was a grin that alit her features in a quite gentle, stunning way.
"Alright then, you guys, what is it you want to do? I'm fresh out of ideas."
They smiled slyly, glancing at each other.
"Wanna play hide and seek?" aske Tom.
A brow arched upon the pale beauty's features.
~~Indeed, hide and seek. What of the sneakiness, you guys? What are you demons up to?~~ she thought softly to them, her tones much lighter to them, quiet.
"We just like hide and seek." Sara sad, quietly.
