(ok, I'm bored and I have two hours until I have to go to work.)
Shawn walked into Hogsmead with a small girl of about 10 following him. She held on to his hand and skipped while he walked fast to keep up with her.
Ginny was alos being pulled, but by a boy around their age. Both wore t-nutss and jeans, and seemed slightly hurried. The boy was smiling and Ginny was rolling her eyes at his corny jokes. She smiled at Shawn.
"Hey-" She started to say, before Conan, the boy pulled on her arm.
"Conan! Stop pulling on my arm!" She snapped at him.
{{Ah, the empty spaces. Such times drive me insane. lolz :P }}
Lavender edged around the shops about Hogsmeade, her thoughts elsewhere, a soft humm about her lips. Though clad in a warm, cozy black sweater, jeans, and knee-high leather outdoor boots, she still shivered, her green eyes wandering from the shop window, to the approaching two. She smiled at them, recognizing a face. Then another.
"Hello."
She smiled at Ginny, then Conan, then to the boy, and the girl..
"Hey Lav- Conan, I know we're in a hurry, but you can't pull on my arm like that!" She said.
Conan sighed.
"Fine! I'll meet you there." He said, touching the ring on his finger and dissappearing.
"Hey-"
"HI! My name is Destiny!"
Shawn rolled his eyes,"Yeah this is my sister Destiny. What's up?"
"Hi Destiny, what a pretty name." Ginny siad to the child.
"Shawn named me!"Destiny said smiling at Ginny. Her long blonde hair was tied into a ponytail and she had a light blue dress on.
"Then Shawn has more sense then I thought. Can you do magic?" Ginny asked, smiling again.
"Yep! See!"She lifted a rock into the air and made it explode.
"Nice job. With any luck, you'll be going to school here next year." She grinned, then rubbed the back of her neck.
"Sorry to run on you three, but I seriously gotta go. Conan's having a cow as it is. Any later, and he'll have three."
Shawn laughed,"S'alright. Destiny wanted some ice-creme and I think she was trying to control my mind."
"WAS NOT!"Destiny stuck her tongue out.
"Was too."He stuck out his tongue too.
Ginny patted Destiny's head.
"Smart girl." She said, laughing.
"See you Shawn, bye Lav!" She dissappeared.
Lavender watched their antics with a most amused expression, and as Ginny left, she allowed a soft laugh to murmur.
"Bye Gin!"
She grinned down at the little girl.
"Destiny, humm?"
She nudged Shawn.
"I personally like the name. Very respectful. Soon enough, you'll have tons of boys afraid of you! Just be nice to your brother. If they get too annoying, I'm sure he'll be free to rough them up a bit."
Lavender smiled softly.
"I like your friends Shawn."Destiny said smiling at Lavender.
"So do I. Errrr...I mean..."He blushed a little and looked at his sister."I thought you wanted ice-creme?"
Lavender returned the girl's smile.
"Ay, thank you doll."
She winked coyly, and tucked her cold fingers into her pockets.
"Come then, let us all get some ice cream. What else to have on a chilly day!"
She grinned.
Lavy appered behind Lavender. "What the hell, why do I keep appering here?" she said to her self and then noticed Lavender, Shawn and Destiny. "Oh, hello, Lavender. Who are yur freinds." Lavy asked with a smile.
Shawn looked at Lavy and said,"I'm Shawn and this is Destiny."He pointed to the girl.
Destiny jumped up and down,"Let's go!."She grabbed Shawn's hand and started pulling him.
Lavender smiled and followed the two, her agile legs keeping easy pace, next to Destiny.
"Eager one, eh?" She said gently, teasing playfully.
"Yeah, I bet she could take over the world if she tried hard enough."Shawn smiled.
"Shawn! You're heavy! Do I have to pull you all the way there?"
"If you want ice-creme,yes."
Destiny stopped pulling him,"I don't want ice-creme anymore."
"I'm kiding, come on."
Lavender uttered a quiet, melodious laugh.
"Indeed. Little girls are the most persistant forces in the world."
She grinned down at her.
"Aren't you?"
Destiny smiled deviously,"Yep."
Lavender grinned, and returned her eyes to Shawn.
"A lot on your hands you have, Shawn. I fear you may be controlled by the force of women before your time."
She laughed then, and nudged Destiny with her elbow, gently, in emphasis. The ice cream shop was ever approaching, and Lavender dug into her pocket with numb fingers, searching for her coins, a thoughtful look set upon her features.
Destiny's face held a mischievous look upon it. Shawn was glad that his sister was not as...reclused as she usually was among his family. He looked at Lavender and said,"Thanks for coming with us. I'm not sure I would survive a whole afternoon with her."
Destiny kicked him and ran ahead into the ice-creme shop.
"Don't worry about the money, I'll pay for you."Shawn said smiling at Lavender.
Lavender nodded. "Of course."
Another soft, melodious laugh escaped her, and she grinned at the little Destiny's antics, her eyes following her as she ran into the shop. Lavender shook her head, and was about to continue digging around in her many pockets, when Shawn made his offer. She stared at him for a few moments, before a smile cracked upon her features, and she nodded.
"Okay.. Alright, thank you. But I owe you."
Lavender smiled, and entered the shop after Destiny.
Shawn entered the shop and found Destiny with her face pressed against the glass of the ice-creme case.
"What's your favorite?" Lavender questioned, leaning down, looking into the glass next to Destiny, though not as extremely eager.
"Rainbow Sherbert. Shawn, can I have rainbow sherbert?"
"Sure. Here."He handed her five pounds and handed some more money to Lavender,"And for you."
"Ay, too generous."
Lavender flushed slightly, a very rare sight, and handed half of the money back, going to the register and buying a small cone, of swirling, various colors. A suicide of sweets.
Shawn looked down at his sister and said,"Find us a seat, ol' wise one."She nodded and ran to a corner booth.
Shawn looked at Lavender and said,"You could have gotten a bigger cone. I wouldn't mind paying for you."
"Yes, but I mind. I do not like being in debt, especially, to those I am friends with."
Lavender kissed the brightly mixed icecream, and smiled, following Destiny with light feet.
Shawn shrugged and followed Lavender to the booth that Destiny had selected. He sat down and started drumming his fingers on the table.
Lavender finished her ice-cream with the most clean of kisses and bites, getting up, and throwing away her napkin and the bottom piece of her cone. She started toward the booth, brushing her raven hair behind her ear with a cold, pale hand, a small tremble, brief, almost unnoticeable, shivering through her body - barely noticeable, yes, but still there. Lavenders eyes flickered to the window, and suddenly, she stopped. Her many shaded, moody eyes grew wide as she saw, what no one else staring out the window, would understand.
She saw her reflection. And behind her, someone whom she had not expected to see, especially there, had come up directly behind her. None would see what had happened. The flurry of black cloaks was too thick in the shop. But Lavender would never forget it. Through her middle, a blade was impaled from his hand - not just any blade, but a copper blade. And because of Lavenders strange reactions to the metal, such a wound was fatal. She could not be cured by any magic, from any source, her own or otherwise - she was fatally, mortally wounded. She breathed in deeply, murmuring a soft, 'Oh'.. of surprise...
There was a flurry of grey mist, and he was gone. And at that same instant, Lavender fell. People, confused, scurried out of the way - she fell softly, turning, landing smoothly on her back, her head turned just to the side, one hand setting far out from her, the other bent, and close to her being. Her eyes were closed, her breathing slow, her lips parted just slightly with a sense of angelic smoothness. And Lavender was still, with all the grace and pureness of the fallen beauty she was...
"Lavender!"Shawn ran over to her and dropped down beside her. He picked her up and held her close to his chest."Destiny, go to Hara and bring Fiara to me!"
"But Hara is in the Desert Kingdom."
"Now!"Destiny nodded and dissappered."Hold on Lavender."He said looking down at Lavender's face.
Ginny appeared again, with a boy. She knelt down beside Lavender.
"Oh no.." Ginny whispered, knowing immediatly what happened when she touched Lavenders wound with a soft hand.
"She's allergic to copper." Ginny said, bitting her lip, she looked at Shawn, then at the boy, then back at Lavender.
"Conan, go home." She said softly. The boy nodded and dissappeared, leaving Ginny there.
"Shh, Lavender, there's gotta be a way to help you." Ginny murmmered, inspecting the wound.
"No..." Lavender mumbled softly, moaning breathless sobs, as she began to squirm, though with a ghostly weakness that was utterly different than her usual self.
She trembled and shivered to being touched, convulsing violently to Ginny's inspection, in a way that the fabric of her shirt slid up to the middle of her ribcage, to the lower threads of her black bra, revealing the gaping wound. From the deep injury, black, purple, red vein-like threads had already started to fan out. Lavender whimpered, the chilling air bringing her rolling around to consciousness.
Being conscious was not the best thing for her.
"Hemphgafdgffmm...." she sputtered incoherently, her chest rapidly rising and falling as she continued to squirm..
"d**nit, knock off the moving!" Ginny ordered harshly. She looked up at Shawn.
"Have you sent for help?"
Lavender emitted a sort of cat-like growl, a moment before she violently twisted herself away, landing firmly upon her belly and forearms, with the remainder of her strength, holding herself up. She coughed, blood spilling from her mouth onto the once clean floor, bringing gasps and screams from the growing crowd around them.
Lavender shuddered, her arms slipped, and she flattened, her cheek resting in the pool of her own blood, of which seeped into her hair, and clothes and began to expand away from her body. Her eyes were open - though fainter - she was still awake, but only just. She heard the outroar of the crowd, and much as a kitten would do, she tucked her head into the crook of her elbow, her raven hair bringing out the paleness, and the sickly yellowing, reddish color of her flesh. Lavender moaned, twitching in pure, undiluted agony, her being screaming, though still jolting in unpredictable jerks..
"Alright, enough of this." Roughly, Ginny turned Lavender onto her side and tapped her forhead.
"Now pick one Lavender, either you stay awake and stop moving, or I'll knock you out." She refused to let the fact that Lavender was like a sister to her get in the way of healing her.
The many greens of Lavender's glittering eyes stared up at Ginny with the most uncertain of looks, unmoving, until, after a mere blinking of her eyes, all had changed. Her body relaxed, and took on a sort of uncaring disposition, her eyes, now ember red, dancing, watching Ginny with the most curious of gazes, her tongue running over her lips, stained with the blood that had just fallen from them.
"You wish to cure me of such an incurable thing?.. I will watch you try, futile mortals..."
The demonic wraith utterly fled and withdrew from her then, upon Lavender's forcing, want, to return. She fought at it, and forced it away, lying still beneath Ginny's hands, no longer falsely relaxed, but too weakened to move. She hated it, hated it, when she let the locked down side of herself be freed.. if only for a moment. It was not her, Lavender, who had appeared then..
~~Ginny,~~ she breathed in thought. ~~I'm sorry..~~
In truth, Lavender had not been in control of her constant twitching - it was her traitorous body, acting in reaction to the copper reaction. Just as she wasn't then, her still, but awake form, not under her total control.
Lavenders body, when injured by any copper substance, did not heal, in fact it reacted in a worsened state, to any magical healing. She knew this quite well, though she wished second by second that it wasn't true..
"I know lavender, i know not to use magic. I didn't take Medical lessons for nothing, dear. I didn't wander through my sisters mind for nothing." Ginny said. By sister, she ment Lavender, that was for sure. She pulled off her pouch and opulled out some regular guaze of which had never had the magical substance added and laid it upon Lavenders wounds, to help the bleeding slow.
