My name is AnnaBelle and I just joined, but I've never joined a forum before so I'm kind of lost :-[. After 20 minutes I finally figured out how to post a new topic. When I figured it out, I wanted to kick myself for being so stupid, so I suppose the rest should be just as easy.
Actually, figuring out how to make a new thread is one of the hardest things to do, so you're pretty much set.
If you look in the Sorting Hat, you'll find Newbie F.A.Q.s that Fawkes made. If you need help, easist thing to do is look there first. If you don't find an answer there, just ask someone!
And welcome!!
Welcome to HPFF! Enjoy!....
Punchline: Do have fun and don't forget to respect others!
And of course, welcome.
(And, if you guys see the same post word for word too many times, you guys will suspect me to be a machine :P)
Welcome!
Hey, thanks for all the welcomes! :)
And Ginny thank you for the advice, I'll have to check that out.
Welcome AnnaBelle! I do hope you have a great time here! Like Ginny said check out the FAQs I put all the basic forum stuff there.. ;)
-Fawkes
Another thing though, you should come online and post more often, AnnaBelle! ;D
I can only get on the computer for an hour a day at the most and that includes doing homework that needs typed and stuff. I'll try to post more often, but I'm scared of saying something stupid. :-X :-[ :P
Hey, I say stupid stuff all the time, don't worry about it.
My computer restriction is generally the same, but then I hardly get homework that needs typing.
As for stupid stuff, don't worry. It's OK embarrassing yourself once in a while. All you need to do is comfort youself by remembering that there are some people who embarass themselves every time they speak :P ;D
lol^^
Yes don't worry about saying something stupid.. It's your opinion and it's none of the other people's business what you think or say as long as it's nothing offensive ;)
*smiles* Okay, I'll work on trying not to worry about saying something stupid. I usually have a hard time of thinking of what I should say, but I'll post as much as I can. A lot of the threads I read are are really off topic, so it's kind of hard to join in. :-\
Yeah, thats a problem all of us have. Either quote the first post and bring the wholt hing back on topic, or make a new one.
Okay. Thanks for all the help. I don't feel so stupid now. :P But I do feel behind in posts. I only have 9 and most of you have thousands! I'll never have near that many! :o
That's ok, too. Ask the old-timers and they'll tell you I can't log on very often. I've been around for about 1½ years, but I only got about 850 posts! Take it slow, it's ok. ;D
Only 850 posts? I don't care how long you've been here, I think that's a lot! :o
Trust me. After 1½ years you'll have more than me :P ;D
Lol look at me, I've only been here a few months and look at my post count.
I've been here for about 3 years, and mine isn't all that high.
Sometimes, your post count can go high if you get off topic and post stupid stuff which is a problem we had awhile back.
0612, I highly doubt that.
Dark Wizard Neo, either you are a HUGE Harry Potter fan, or you have a little too much time on your hands, and same with you Ginny! :o
Well for me its a little bit of both, and I think I can safely say its a little bit of both for Gin too lol.

Yes... That seems rather obvious ;D

seriously, don't. You log on about as frequrent as I do.
I might log on as often as you, but I don't post as much. I post like twice a day. Pretty pathetic. :P
Just post at the new threads, you know, the threads that have been updated since your last visit. There should be around 4 to 5. (Really, exceeding your time restriction by a couple of minutes shouldn't matter :P)
Rules around here are more strict than you may think. :-\
You get used to it eventually :P
What I ment was that rules at my house are more strict than you may think. (I am mainly talking to 0612) If I stayed on over my time, I'd probably be grounded for 2 weeks or more, and a bunch of other stuff. :-\ I post when and where I can.
i know. it sounds exactly like my house. but i just dont care, i decide when i want to get off. lets put it this way, im taller then my parents, im going to college next year, i do what i want :P
THAT'S THE SPIRIT, NEO!!!
Seriously, AnnaBelle, you could try talking to your parents. See, they restrict your computer time for only two (reasonable) reasons:
1) To protect your eyes from damage
2) So that you spend more time on studying
The solution to 1 would be to request your parents to grant you a little more time, and that you would split your total computer time into multiple sessions a day.
The solution to 2 would be to explain that you spent most of your time on your comp doing homework, leaving no time for entertainment. (Also remember to quote "All work and no play makes Neo a dull guy" :P)
Yeah... Just as your parents are reasonable I guess those two methods up there would work :P ;D
LOL "Makes Neo a dull guy"? :P ::)
It just doesn't work that way at my house. There are a lot of people here and only one computer, so there has to be time limits to make things fair. Everybody gets really frustrated when somebody goes over their time limit and it ends up in a big fight, and I don't want that to happen.

LOL... sorry. I forgot the name in the real phrase, so I just picked one from the page :P

Surely you haven't got an entire soccer team under that roof? I mean, the comp isn't turned on 24/7, is it?
Hey, at my house it is! (Except late at night on weeknights) And it used to be worse, when all of us lived here.
same at my house... and there only 3 ppl living here!... either I'm on, which is most of the time... my bro and his friends... my mum or my aunt... and that covers 4AM-1AM... that's like 21 hours :P... :o wow that's pretty sad...
No, it isn't turned on 24/7. That's not the point though. There are rules here and I follow them to keep peace. Same with everybody else that lives here. It just makes life easier.
lolz... i'm like the complete opposit... i do stuff just to make peopl mad... like spending all my time online... heehee
Yeah, em... I guess most of us seen that side of you :P

I guess the rules are just strict, then... Try staying back a little after school and surf with the school comps.
dang! why's everybody always gotta agree with me when I put myself down... ohh yea.. it's the truth... lolz... never mind...
Honesty's the best policy ;)
