Fox walked along the edge of the lake with no real intent on anything at all. He hadn't really seen anyone he knew slightly, so he was pretty lonely. Lonely as he had been when his grandfather locked him in his barren room a couple months ago. Fox shivered, I must not think about that. I'm out here to, maybe, get friends. I must not let my fear take over again.
Fox sighed and gave up when he passed a tree. He slumped beside it, sighing. There was no way that he would be able to make any friends. He was known as a mean kid, and he would probably stay that way. Fox groaned and shook his head. Then he reached into his bag and pulled out a notebook. With nothing else to do, he started to draw a person. He was pretty good for an eleven year old. With some practice, he could be an artist if he grew up. He didn't care though. The only reason was because he drew when he was lonely at his grandfather's manor. Many of the notebooks he had drawn in had tear blotches on the pages. Fox sighed again and continued to draw the person. He stopped after a little while, and looked at it to see who it was forming to be. She looked familiar... kinda like Ginny.
"Hello," came a soft voice from behind him, "Are you new to Hogwarts?"
A girl stood behind him. She was wearing a yellow tank top with army green pants. Over them she wore a jut black cloak, which reached all the way down to her ankles. Her hair was pulled back into a messy pony tail, and it had a few twigs in it. She had bruises on her neck and the parts of her arms that could be seen. She also had on long cut on her left cheek.
"party is it?" said a gruff voice from the left of Fox. Bolt was leaning on a tree with an orange "fox racing" shirt under a striped overshirt and had blue jeans on his legs. "whos that...?" he said looking at his paper. "hmmm. kinda looks like Ginny, doesnt it lavy? your pretty good for your age, which must be young. your kinda short." said bolt.
"Please, everyone looks like Ginny. It's kinda creepy."
Bolt howled with laughter."man that was funny." he said wiping his eyes. "shes really nice though, and you dont want her to hear that."
"Oh, I'm not worried about Ginny, she can't hurt me." Lavy said with a shrug sitting down and starting to pull twigs out of her hair. "d**n, werewolves." she said wiping the blood off her face.
"oh wait. she told me there were only two people in this school she cant harm. one of them was you. ok i got it. how come she cant hurt you?"
"Because, even though shemuch more powerful then me, I have a certain amount of powers which I can use to defend myself with, wherefor she can't past my defences."
((Just wanted to add- I said Lavender Potter, not Lavender Brown! Heehee))
(lolz well thanks Ginny, I was going to use that to my advage but you messed that up lol ;D :) ::))
(lolz)
"oh ok."
"Yep fasinating stuff."
(lolz)
"hey you ever heard of football?" bolt said with a grin, conjuring one up in midair.
"Football, basketball, everything, I love it all, why?"
bolt grined more widely. "you know how to play crush the carrier? (smear the queer, ect.)" bolt asked devilishly.
"Maybe." Lavy said noticing bolt's grin.. "Why?"
"hey fox, wanna play crush the carrier?"said bolt with relish.
"You still haven't told me why?"
"come on lets go play. im bored." bolt said, ready to whoop them all.
"Umm.... okay."
(I'm going to add another person soon, ust so you know)
(add away, we need more people here anyway)
(well there's like no one here so I'll just write the part)
"Hello." said a boy from behind them.
Lavy looked up. "Oh, hi Jason, what's going on?"
"I just wanted to see what you where up to, so waht are you up to?" he said looking over at bolt.
"nothin much" bolt said to the boy casually to the boy, as if he knew him for years. "im bolt. and you are?" he said plitely holding out his hand automatically. "wanna play crush the carrier?"
"Oh, I'm Jason." Jason said holding out is hand." But I've never hear of crush the carrier, what is that?"
bolts grin widened. he loved playing against people who didnt know how to play. "its when someone has the ball, you try to tackle that person. when that person is tackled, he or she throws up the ball. then someone catches it. then the cycle continues."
"Oh. okay that makes ence. let's play, are yo going to play Lavy?"
"Not right now, you two go have fun."
"if you wish..."said bolt. "here jason you start."
Jason grabbed the ball.
"3. 2. 1. GO!" yelled bolt.
Jason took off running.
Bolt tore after him, and was almost up to him within 10 seconds.
Jason dubbled back and lost Bolt right before he caught him.
~wow hes good.~ thought bolt. but then he spurted almost all of his speed and tackled Jason. "now you gotta throw it up" he reminded jason.
"Okay, okay, kid, just get off of me. How old are you by the way?" Jason asked standing up.
"just twelve. the ball?" he said.
"I don't think I've ever been takled by a 12 year old, well Lavy did a few times." Jason though the ball in the air.
bolt caught it and said "come and get me then." then he took off.
Jason sighed and took off after Bolt. He had gotten behind bolt and with little effort at all tackled him to the ground.
(I'm sooo sorry that I haven't been on!!!)
Fox watched them with slight interest. What was interesting really, was that they had talked to him, and invited him to play a game. He watched the two playing it, sort of glad that he wasn't in it. He wasn't very good at athletic things, and he really only ever went horseback riding at his Grandfather's manson. Learning that skill was mostly out of nessicity to get away from Grandfather. Fox shuddered as he drew, and a line went at the wrong angle on the paper. He sighed and started to erase it.
He then looked at the unfinished picture. Did it look like Ginny? Or was he imagining it. He already wanted to see his new-found adopted sister. He smiled. She had adopted him. Later, when he asked about the Weasleys, he got an explination that they were all redheads and most were freckled. Fox grinned a little. He didn't fit that description at all.
Fox continued with the drawing. It was too late to say that he was sorry for not paying attention to them. They had already gone onto other things. That left him a little lonely though. He curled into himself as he thought about that. He would be lonely a lot in his life, wouldn't he?
Lavy turned to Fox. "So, what's your story?"
Fox turned his head swiftly. He had forgotten about her. He winced, "S-sorry, what?"
Fox knew his tactlessness before it was even out of his mouth. He looked at the picture and sighed. He wouldn't get anything done under these circumstances.
"My... story? What do you mean?" Fox said. He was so startled that he didn't even go into his brat Fox he usually acted like. Ginny was the only one he really didn't want to act like that around. He shook his head again and then looked up, an accusing look in his eyes, "Why do you want to know anyways?"
"O, well.. I like to get to know new students, new people in fact." Lavy said shrugging.
"Humph, that's no reason to ask into others lives!" Fox said, his mask of being a bully falling completely into place. He was lonely, so why was he doing this?
Ginny had been nice to him, but he could only let her see the true him for now. He sighed inwardly, but looked up fiercely. He did not want to scare this girl away, but he was not the type to be all friendly and happy. Look at where that had gotten him... stuck with his evil grandfather, who hated his guts for being a 'weakling.'
Grandfather, I hope you're happy.
Lavy raised her eyebrow. "Okay, two can play that game, so you don't want to tell me about yourself, don't worry I know enough, working for the Ministry has it's benefits." she added with a smirk, "And being able to read people' mind also has it's benefits."
Lavy laid down, looked at the sky and she sighed, she wished Neo was here with here. But he was busy so she had come back to school.
Ginny came walking past, looking as though she had just woken up. Working only when needed had it's pluses, one being she could sleep when she felt like it. She stopped though when she saw Fox.
"Hey kiddo." She called to him.
Lavy looked up. "What? she said out of confussed and then realised Ginny was talking to Fox. "Oh."
"E-eh! Ginny!" Fox said, his mask falling to shreds again. He flushed and packed his drawing away, standing up.
"Hi, Ginny," Fox said, leaving his bag on the ground and going up to her. He smiled a little and then looked at Lavy, "Erm... I... I'm... sorry."
Fox looked back at Ginny. He would do anything for her to stick around. She was the nicest person in the world... or so he thought. He smiled again. He would try to please her in any way that he could.
"What brings you here, Ginny?" Fox asked, hero-worship showing in his eyes.
(Lolz.. before long, Ginny, you're going to have a little slave!!)
(*evil laughter* And so the mind control begins!)
Ginny smiled and ruffled his hair.
"Nothing, I just woke up and decided to take a walk. What are you doing?"
(lolz... yesh)
"Well, I was drawing... when these people came along," Fox supplied an answer quickly. His smile dropped for a moment before lighting up again, "Hold on!"
Fox went to his bag quickly and drew out the notebook. He handed the unfinished picture to Ginny. He smiled again, "What do you think? You know that I had a lot of practice... back then..."
Fox blinked, and waited for an answer.
(Hmm... at eleven, true Fox reminds me of Momiji for absolutely no reason... XD)
((Momiji-kun? Hmmm...well, I see what you mean))
Ginny took the picture from him and smiled. It was such fine work that she had to smile. She handed it back and ruffled his hair again.
"Well, they say practice makes perfect, and your really good, Fox!"
Fox smiled proudly and then looked at Lavy.
"Umm... ah... you people are always talking about mind-reading and stuff. How do you do it, Ginny?" Fox asked hesitantly. He looked up at her with big eyes. He then lowered his voice a little, "And how to you block other people from reading your own?"
Fox looked up and smiled again. He looked at the picture then, "When I'm done, you can have it!"
"Mind reading? Well, you have to have the power to do so. And blocking it also takes the talent, but I can try to teach you. if you can't do it, I'll expand my block to cover your mind for awhile." She said, smiling, "And thanks!" She said, as to his offer of the picture.
She grinned at him then at Lavy.
"Hey."
"Hi, Ginny, how's life working for you?"
"Same as always." She said, smiling. Though in truth, lately she had been less short tempered and more happy.
"So that wouls be good and bad."
(im soooooo sorry, i was grounded. :-\)
Bolt groaned and took off after jason. After hours of playing, he said, "alrigh, alright. ive never won by that little before. your way good."
he stopped, turned and saw Ginny. "Ginny?" he asked. it had been a while since he last saw her. "how are you?" he said. Ginny was the first person Bolt had met, and, just like Fox, thought her the nicest and coolest person ever.
Bolt had heard Fox's last statement, and was rather intrested about it, too.
(heh. another slave to the collection.... ;D)
(Yes, the army is growing. :P)
Ginny turned and smiled at Bolt.
"Hi." She said, waving slightly, she turned back to Lavy and laughed. "yeah, guess so." She shook her head, still laughing. It was true, she had been in a much better mood lately. She knew why, but wasn't saying it outloud.
Fox looked at all of the people and shuffled closer to Ginny. She was the only one he knew around him. He looked up at her and nodded slowly, "Yeah, teach me if you can."
Fox had absolutely no idea if he could be able to do mind-stuff or whatever it was. He looked at Ginny with big eyes and then looked around. He sighed and then shouldered his bag so that it would be more comfortable.
Ginny put an arm around his shoulders and smiled at him.
"Okay, kiddo. Whenever you want to try." She said.
"The soonest you can... even now... if they don't mind," Fox said with a flush. A minute ago, he had been acting like a complete snob, now he was asking for their well-being. He looked up at Ginny with hopeful eyes. He smiled shyly and blinked wide green eyes.
"Thank you for even considering it... Ginny," Fox said hesitantly. He blushed a little and looked away at the lake.
"No problem, Fox." She said, nodding, "We can start now, if you'd like."
"Oh, that would be wonderful, Ginny!" Fox said, beeming up at his role-model. He smiled happily and then looked around. He blinked, "What happens if I'm not able to do any mind stuff?"
Fox wanted to. He really did want to, but he had never felt anyone elses thoughts or whatever before.
"Then you can't learn it. It's okay though. Sometimes a person can go for years and not have even the slitest mind power, then suddenly wake up and have most of it." She said, "Besides, telepathy is the easiest, so we can start with that."
"Oh... well, let's see if I might have it," Fox said, a little less energeticly. He shook his bangs out of his eyes and looked at her with eyes that pleaded that he had it. He blinked and nodded, "Telepathy... how do you do it, Ginny?"
Fox waited for her answer axiously.
She blinked.
"Oh, well, it begins with a consiiouse effort. First you have to be able to send on simple word to one person. Pick any word you want and concentrate for a moment, the focas you energy onto the person you want to send it to. You can close you eyes, hum, whatever helps you concentrate." She explained.
Fox nodded and closed his eyes, trying to block everything out. What word should I think of? Hmmm.... Ginny.
Fox gulped and concentrated harder than he really ever did. He thought the name, Ginny, at Ginny. His hands curled into fists without him realizing it. He was very nervous that he could not be able to send the thought.
~G...G...Gi...Ginn...Ginny...~ Fox sent, a word so very weak that it could have been missed in the minds of others. He did it, but he didn't know if that try would qualify. He blinked, and fell to the ground. It was a lot harder than he thought it would be. He looked at Ginny with desperately hopeful eyes. Please... please... please...
She smiled and knelt down, facing him.
"It's okay Fox. For a first try, you did great." She grinned at him, her grin faded and was left with a melancholy smile. "Besides,if you ever need my help desperately, your mind powers will expand enough to help you." She said. Such a thing as being desperate did send powers like this skyrocketing. After all, the first time she'd had any mind powers was after her first year.
"R-really?" Fox asked, surprised. He had been sure that she would have said that he could not be able to use telepathy.
"Will I be able to develope it and make it easier to use, and stronger?" Fox asked, smiling wearily back.
He then saw her change of mood, "I hope that I won't need to use it. The only enemy that would actually try to hurt me would be my grandfather, and he's on a different continent."
Fox looked at her and laughed a little, "You know what? Today seems to be the day I want to try new things. Would you be able to teach me self-defence later? I think it would be good if I learned how to evade my grandfather if he tries anything when I see him next. It would be nice to be able to move fast enough to dodge him."
"Self-defence?" Ginny said, thoughtfully, "Well, I...uh, never actually learned myself. I just fight and do what the moment calls for..." She said, grinning a bit sheepishly. When she did fight, she fought pretty strangly.
"Oh... umm... do you know anyone who does know self-defence?" Fox asked, a little down-heartedly. He looked up and said the sheepish grin, "What is it?"
Fox looked around again and then back at Ginny. He was starting to get energy back. He nodded to himself, focusing on Ginny again. He found that it was the slightest bit easier to concentrate on sending her a word.
~G-Gin-Ginny?~ Fox didn't realized that he had put the tone of a question in that thought. He did know that it was also the tiniest bit stronger, though he couldn't really fathom what it meant. He slumped again and grinned wearily, "Okay... no more for now, or I think I injure myself. Was that better, Ginny?"
"That was fine. And I'm glad you know your limits." She said, standing and streaching her arms above her head.
